Beorn: You've said it all. She said the killings were self defense, & as someone who did a lil bit of psychology while in school, i believe she was so broken to tell the difference between a minor disagreement & a life threatening one & as such, she saw the former as the later. In behavioural psychology, we have what's called conditioning. Over the course of growing up, she has been so broken to a point that her response to some kinda sex position, sex talks etc, has been modified to mean rape. So when any of her customers initiate what seems like a kinda weird sex fetish, her mind makes a misinterpretation of the event & at that very point in time, her survival instinct kicks in, pushing her into a self-defense mechanism mode, armed with a gun, she shoots to kill, cause she's not that helpless young girl she was years ago. She was basically insane. if you go through her last speech, you'd find out she didn't feel remorse for what she did, rather she felt justified & somewhat sad that she's being punished for fighting against & killing her rape victims. She has been conditioned to believe she did the right thing. |

oyaskii: I hear you my good man, but that path she choose seemed inevitable & out of her control. She was shattered beyond repair, she was shattered to the point that you can't even pick a piece of her on the floor & again people handle things differently, for some it just the trauma which comes once in a while, for others, it goes beyond that, she seemed very insane. I shouldn't, but i kinda felt a little bit of sympathy for her. @ the bolded, a million thanks, you perfectly deciphered it. |

oyaskii:Am so caught up with her story right now, I just finished Aileen: Life & Death of a Serial Killer Not trying to justify her actions, but i think the lady was badly broken, it started from home & escalated to other places, unfortunately, every action begets a consequence, they made her the psychopath she was. At first she believed it was a sort of self defense & kinda pitied herself, but after 12 years on death row, she finally accepted the sad reality of it all. Her last words struck me & is something I've been trying to decipher. "I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day, with Jesus". Any idea what she was implying with the above? |

Aileen: Life & Death of a Serial Killer(2003)...8/10 Genre:Documentary, Crime A follow-up documentary on the Monster(2003) movie, which tells the horrific tale of the life & death of Aileen Wuornos the psychopathic serial killer. The story of a woman who was pushed hard, beaten, & broken, as a result of all these, she descends into paranoia schizophrenia & ultimately a psychopathic serial killer is born. This sure reminds me of the Movie Joker, the family, the system, the society, the American legal system all failed Aileen Wuornos & made her transmute into the Monster she became. Her final speech before her death was a raw & powerful one "I'd just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day, with Jesus". Not everybody who's abused becomes a serial killer, but the fact is that some just can't handle the trauma the way other folks do. |

Monster(2003)....8/10 Genre: Biography, Crime, Drama A shocking & gripping biopic on Aileen Wuornos a Daytona Beach proustite who became a serial killer, as perfectly portrayed by Charlize Theron, method acting at it's finest, little wonder she won the Oscars for her performance here. Hats off to the director for this fine work of art. Everything was spot on & perfect, from the script, cinematography, acting, down to the soundtracks. Not trying to glorify her actions, but psychology 101 would always say: An action is only meaningful to those & those alone who carry out the said act. |

Nekr0N: You had to give him a reply. It's like you don't know who you're arguing against, trust me, this is a discussion that'll span at least 2 pages, and at the end of the day, both of you would agree to disagree. 3 Likes

whitelotus: Both shows are trash, but Queen Sono is the lesser of the two evils. |

The Great Escape (1963)..8/10 Genre:Adventure, Drama, History After seeing a documentary about the Great Escape i was so marvelled at what i saw, that i had to read about it & check out the movie. A 90% historical accurate flick. A masterful motion picture, written with precision & ladened with enough thrills, intrigue, tension, that'd keep one on edge all through. Perfect execution by the fine cast. Colourful cinematography & electrifying soundtracks to go with. Enough of this long epistle, this flick simply had it all, if you're a historian, do check it out. "Heil Hitler"...... The heartless douchebag. |

whitelotus: I perfectly understand. I've seen both shows & to be frank, both of them are just there, but I'd gladly pick Queen Sono over Luke Cage. infact, what are the criteria for a better black TV show. Or to paraphrase, what makes Luke Cage better than Queen Sono? |

Nekr0N: LMAO..I was struck dumb when he recommended Luke Cage, i had to go check Google, to see if there's another Luke Cage. He's probably joking i think. |

Liposure: It's helpful but not all the time. The Corona Zombies one individual like that was blabbing & yapping about actually got some very good reviews on the User Reviews of IMDb ( if you're in doubt go check it out). Based on the genre & not the name, Should someone follow those high reviews & download the said movie, they'd be disappointed & ultimately find out that they've been decieved. There are also some user reviews with high ratings you'd read on the site, & you'd be like " is this fellow new to movies or something". |

oyaskii: Thanks, am already downloading Extract. The way Bateman painted Gordo, i saw him as the bad guy initially. But i think the baby is Bateman's, Gordo was just applying the laws of karma. A DNA test would simply solve it all. But boy, that Bateman's character was a douchebag. |

oyaskii: Gracias Amigo. I do use the Users Review all the time. For this particular movie, the general Imdb rating was good, & in the User Reviews, the few who had seen the movie at that time, praised it to high heavens, so i thought i give it a go, only to be disappointed at the end. |

The Gift(2015)...7/10 Genre:Drama, Mystery, Thriller Cleverly written and excellently directed by Joel Edgerton, the movie had an excellent narrative, in the sense that until the last few minutes, you wouldn't be able to tell who the main protagonist was. This are the kinda movie that draws you in & holds you spellbound until the conflict is finally resolved. The three leads delivered an outstanding performance. Bateman delivers what I'd describe as his careers best performance, for a comedy actor, he did really appear very serious & did justice to his role. In the end, the Gift's conclusion is an open one, but yet, strangely satisfying. |

The Lovebirds(2020)...2.5/10 Genre:Action, Comedy, Crime Was this meant to be Rom-com, Murder Mystery, or both, cause the writer seemed quite undecided on what he really wanted. As a Rom-com the characters & character development lacked depth, the chemistry between the two leads was very poor, and the comedy most times was lame AF & seemed forced, especially from the lady. As a Murder Mystery, this has to be one of the worst murder Mysteries I've seen so far, cause it was very uncreative & dumb. Plot was very predictable, preposterous & seemed like a cheap Date Night knockoff. Acting was a pile of garbage, especially from Issa Rae, the lady was terrible & annoying all through. All in all, these are the kinda movies, you're better off seeing their trailers, rather than the actual movie itself. |
