Politics / Re: Civil Servant Eating Amala And Fish While On Duty At Lagos High Court by mekussays: 12:09am On Jan 30, 2013 |
NAIRALAND gives ues a sense of how Nigerian actually think. So there r people actually supporting this unprofessional behavior. Well i knw why cuz many will do the same. I understand what the poster meant that the whole room will be smelling of fish and soup. he should have simply gone somwhere else to eat or close his door and not attend to people for the 20mins he needs to eat. The picture of the westerners eating pizza is a meeting or sort where all of them are having lunch so its wont disgust any1 and they are not attending to any1. This cant happen anywhere is the western world as they have a room where they eat. NAIJA NEEDS CHANGE OF MENTALITY 4 Likes |

Nairaland / General / Re: Lagos: Keke Napep Charges Are High by mekussays: 6:33pm On Oct 29, 2012 |
The ban on okada in the whole of lagos will be the best thing that will happen in lagos. Okada riders lack training and are too aggressive and in a rush thus turning lagos in a menace city. Keke napep if probably organized better would be a far much better way of transportation in lagos because it will actually save lives(pls read the report on how many people have died and being hospitalized due to okada- https://www.nairaland.com/1085094/okada-accidents-killed-107-two) Once keke napep has been accepted by Lagosians, the price will come down and a definite price structure can be in place. 1 Like |

Religion / Re: Pastor Bakare Attacks Patience Jonathan by mekussays: 12:45pm On Aug 06, 2012 |
People please always reason first before dropping comment. What the pastor is saying doesn't affect him being a pastor. Nigeria is such a mess and all what pastor tunde is saying is true.Am not a fan ofthe pastor but i read what he said and i simply agree with him and any logical thinking person would agree after assessing MADAM Jona. MADAM jona is acting like a greedy woman who wants to grab everything.EVen just looking at her we all knw she is hungry . We need to open our eyes are start thinking alike so the revolution against all the way of government will begin. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Lagos Banned Activities Of NURTW by mekussays: 10:55pm On Aug 03, 2012 |
dont understand some people here...NURTW is a nuisance in the motor park and fashola braveness to get rid of them is very very good news.fashola passed a law and this is part of the implementation. It would be a far better lagos if drivers and conductors can be identified easily. Some nairalanders dey complain about uniform wat u should be concerned about is will it make Lagos better? and logically it will. We need more positive minded thinking people not Nigerians that just think negative all the time. |
Nairaland / General / Why So Much Envy Among Nigerians: Nairaland by mekussays: 3:34pm On Jun 09, 2012 |
Hi y'all. I love nairaland and i think i visit nairaland at least twice a day. I call nairaland our nigerian twitter because u get to see what nigerian are thinking about a particular issue. Something i really enjoy is reading the comment cuz it is usually a battle of who can speak more english or who knows what than others. Having said that, one thing that really baffles me is the amount of jealousy and envy that is present. I will use two examples. (NOTE THE COMMENTs IN RED WAS WHAT I THOUGHT) First Tonto Dikeh( our Nollywood actress). This babe probably came from nowhere and has being able to make a name for herself in Nollywood(at least anywhere they say her name in nigeria one person there must knw her). But nigerian beef her regularly. The first i noticed was when she had a photo shoot. (https://www.nairaland.com/853266/check-out-tonto-dikeh-this). When i read the comments(hahahaha) the girl collect insult die and looking more at the comment u will notice that people stop commenting about the particular picture but just insult her with all their energy and frustration(it would be nice to see one of those people insulting her). It is not like i am a fan of her but naija is a very very hard place and anybody that is making effort to make a life deserve to be praised. These comment were my favourite "It looks like she wants to drop a huge droppings"..(damn wrong)(wonder what u were trying to say) "why not? get a cheap knockoff version of whatever rihanna was wearing, travel to the nearest igbo village and snap photos of my trashy body with puppys borrowed from the local champions- sounds like a plan to me!" ( i would love to see you in a leopard skinned dress) "Sexy for where? Monkey fine pass dis" (FUNNY DIE). There are so much more... When she also got a tattoo una finish am badly. You guys should remember that this people are meant to entertain us so she doing her job. The last was the pic of her in secondary school(https://www.nairaland.com/959072/tonto-dikeh-secondary-school-uniform)(see bad belle comment as e plenty.KIA). Check out some comments "Igbo and Ikwerre smoker" ( did u smoke igbo in secondary school? maybe that y u feel everybody does) "I THINK WE'V GOT MUCH BETTER THINGS TO DISCUSS THAN SHITS LIKE THIS. mODERATOR, I THINK U DESERVE SOME STROKES OF THE LASH FOR PUTTING THIS ON FRONT PAGE"(cmon man.. maybe post a naked pic of urself .probably it wont still reach front page) The second issue that had me concerned was osaze odemwingie wedding. Mehn some comment were just wrong as in wrong. We are complaining of racism around the world, but if you look closer to home, u will find so many racist around. check out some peeps comment. "Why does his wife look older than him? But she no fine sha" (u should have put a pic of yourself so we can compare) "Osaze don fall my hand. Why must u marry oyibo girl? Anyway hapi marriage life bro Osaz" (damn u r living in the past) "Na inferiority complex dey worry am. him wan bleach out im black genes from his children. . ."(disgusting) "Seconded...These white gals cherish divorce....(Aπϑ of cos ya owo) .... otu ocha" (what do u knw probably u never touch white person before talk less to marry 1) "Osaze deserved a shining dark beauty from Bayelsa. Now he's gonna have white kids" (this is just a racist comment and it is sad) But this is why i love my peeps cuz we have true ones that say the truth and are happy for other peeps. but the majority are just envious, frustrated nigerian that just want to insult every minute of the day. I can go on and on and on about this envious people but would stop here as i feel that i have gotten my message across. Am expecting some harsh replies as usual but as a nigerian i go talk say ..."Forget na just mouth eeeee" |
Family / Re: Many Married Men Are Unhappy... by mekussays: 2:35pm On Jun 09, 2012 |
poster u r so on point. i am still single but have a lot of married friends. All they do is complain about their marriage and how unhappy they are. They cheat constantly on their wives as in on d regular. So i asked myself is being married just a status or do people get married just because others are getting married or LOVE(dont even knw hw to describe love). If i had my way i will just have children and ditch the whole marriage idea cuz looking at it, it seems not to bring the sought after happiness. One of my married friends had a fight with his wife and got a bit drunk and started revealing what he has been through in his marriage and he said to me "mekus if u ever get married use sense ooooo dont take the marriage as "WE" cuz women have their own ideas take the marriage as "I". This was a guy i was seeing as a happily married man. Well i think marriage was easier for the earlier generation as virtues of the world were not so evident. But in this time we live in that everybody want to benefit in one way or the other(MONEY, FAME, or some other reason)marriage has become much more difficult and harder to understand. BULLET POINTS By d way i knw many guys that married because their GF became pregnant. Majority of girls get married cuz their friends are married. Majority of marriages are just for the glamour of the wedding day(as in the whole canopy, music, calling one billion people, girls wearing the same colour, boozing thingy) CNN even notice am. |
Family / Re: British Family Considering Move To Nigeria. Advice Welcomed :) by mekussays: 1:29pm On Mar 06, 2012 |
freshcvv: freshcvv, is nigeria a working society? if u were a foreigner hw would u see nigeria? the reason why she is still there i guess is because of her husband. she is married to a nigerian and loves him. Even we nigerian are tired of nigeria only that we dont have any choice but to stay put and battle all the daily wahala. There is no need for denial about nigeria and it best to openly speak about our problems than beat around the bush. 1 Like |
Family / Re: British Family Considering Move To Nigeria. Advice Welcomed :) by mekussays: 2:02am On Mar 06, 2012 |
@dasparrow ur comment is too violent and aggressive. Agiboma is saying the perfect truth. Nigeria is a messed up society that lost so many things as a result of negligence and rot in the system. Absolutely nothing works and for some1 coming for the first time, nigeria can be a scary place. althou i dont agree with agiboma regarding this oyibo issue but it is just her opinion. Like am sure there are things you hate being called even thou it doesnt mean anything. Back to dasparrow all your comment was only focused toward agiboma while u did not answer any question of the poster. That is a typical nigerian for you. just commenting without real reasoning. @amy abuja lagos and calabar are where foreigners are mainly based so am sure u wont really find life difficult there. All you have to do is develop a thick skin and nigeria will be fine for you. You mentioned that you guys are financially ok so am sure you would be able to make most things comfortable for your family. your kids wont really have a problem because there are international schools that will cater for them very well. they will never be discrimated as nigerian adore mixed kids. Also finding a job for your self depends on who your husband knws in nigeria. if his dad is really big in politics you can get a job ASAP. From your post it seems ur husband has reassured you that nigeria will be fine for you guys so just follow ur heart and also remember that there are so many foreigners in nigeria that love nigeria and never want to go back. so u can be one of them. Also remember that u can always travel to uk anytime u want to if u get tired best of luck amy |

I read thru the threads and notice some things 1. The poster is a liar. Maybe he has made some money in the past but from what am reading its obviously he is wishing for a lot of things. 2. Poster pls u r not using a speech recognizing software as the software doesnt abbrev. words so that's a lie 3. U and the so called chelseabmw are the same person 4. If u knw u really had the car u would have posted a pic here to prove to passive readers 5. I hope Nairaland is not your escape from the rigours of life for you cuz u have time to exchange insults with people here CONCLUSION Pls transfer this to the comedy section as i found this very hilarious. The poster obviously is an entertainer and should be encouraged to keep the lies coming to entertain us. Thumbs up to 190, coogar, and h, and kess |
Music/Radio / Re: Wizkid's Pakurumo Video With Funke Akindele: Thoughts? by mekussays: 3:33am On Dec 13, 2011 |
MyloXyloto:am really sorry about your opinion because am sure u dont have any idea what it takes to shoot a video. What else do you want? Cori_corde:you are calling this foolish gimmick? why can you not just appreciate the work of these artists. They are trying to lift our entertainment industry and u just sit in ur house to talk pass ur mouth. How many actors have u seen in musical videos in yankee videos that u adore with all your life? Please productive criticisms only. Abeg eee the video is on point, the whole idea was on point. Whiz kid salute. Nigerians are just naturally jealous and envious people no matter what you do they cant be pleased. Kudos to EME |
Culture / Re: Help, My Happiness Is At Stake Because Of Tribal Issues by mekussays: 3:02pm On Oct 17, 2011 |
@cynthiafred67 this issue is not learnt in school. Just take time and read some comment some peeps are writing on NL. it just shows the depth of TRIBALISM we are still facing. In my opinion TRIBALISM is the same as RACISM and should be totally eradicated from our society so we can move forward. TRIBALISM is discrimination to another tribe and it is really sad. The poster said she has been with this guy for 3yrs. So r we saying she has been blind since or she has not being happy? Some peeps her might take it like a joke but frankly this issue is really deep and disturbing. @Kpoli Na so my guy ooooooo samtoye: Samtoye we are reasoning on the same lane. i cant actually believe some comments from young nigerians who are complaining about what our elders have done in the past. |
Culture / Re: Help, My Happiness Is At Stake Because Of Tribal Issues by mekussays: 12:58pm On Oct 17, 2011 |
I cant believe the advice most people are giving on NL. Nigeria and Nigerian still have a very long way to go. She only asked for advice and some peeps here are insulting the guy. At poster, follow your heart that is the most important thing to do in life. your parents are not going to be in your marriage or your relationship. We are all Nigerians and thats what is important. My dad is ibo and my mom is yoruba and they have been together for over 30years. ibo - ibo couples or yoruba - yoruba couples doesnt mean automatic happiness in life. Life is all about being happy cuz its too short to be worried about such as olden days subject such as TRIBALISM. so FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND FORGET WHAT YOUR PARENTS WANT |
Politics / Re: Okonjo-iweala Vows To Tackle Corruption by mekussays: 10:12am On Sep 10, 2011 |
With all this negativity about a proven person such as NG nigeria will never get better. I understand that our leaders have failed us so any times but we always need hope. This woman left her job at world bank to face naija problem. Do u think she is stupid? she has all the money already so she is trying to make change and negative people should wait till the end before they make criticisms. |
Family / Re: Marriage: Is It Worth It? by mekussays: 10:06am On Sep 10, 2011 |
Nice Post as this topic is very interesting My opinion is about this topic is: i am a single man but i have a lot of married friends. Everyday all my married friends do is complain about their marriage. They are not actually happy and the reason they are still together is the kids. Also they are always after single girls to cheat. So i have i ask the question why r they married? My conclusion is that nigerian rush into marriage and find out they are not happy but they will not want to divorce cuz of the so called stigma attached to it. |
