Business / Re: Some Things You Should Know About Profiting From Drop-shipping Business!!! by mekussays: 12:49pm On May 19, 2016
Drop shipping is a very good business. The OP has done an excellent job.

However there are so things to note..

Dropshipping in Nigeria is still relatively new. As a result , it is quite complicated. Firstly, you will need to have a dollar account to enable you fulfill orders. My reason is that with all the restrictions on Fx, you will quickly run out using your nigerian based card. You will understand what I mean if you have high volume of sales.

Secondly, you need to carefully source drop shippers. There are so many middlemen who pose as drop shippers and try and charge you some money. Authentic drop shippers don't charge any money. They are actually large warehouses with variety of products. When you place an order, they get it from their warehouse and send. As simple as that.

Thirdly, you need to educate yourself about customs regulation (if you can successfully pass point 1). My reason for this is that customs can add extra cost to the goods and probably the customer must have paid so you can't go back and tell d customer(you will look very unprofessional)

Having said the above, dropshipping is great. We hope to get major suppliers here in Nigeria where the concept of dropshipping can be done with the internation trade wahala in nigeria.

FIFA rules the world anyday anytime. Op is right on most of the new features.

Defense: you can't pass the ball anyhow. Accurate passing rules.

GK: they are bad ass. The catch everything. You need to shoot accurately.

Overall feel: FIFA grows on you. So I expect It to get better.

Career / Re: Excuse Me, Mr. Self-employment Advocate! by mekussays: 10:20am On Aug 22, 2015
The only part I agree with is that paid employment should not be demonized.

Question...what if you never make it to the position of CEO shell?

The market can never be saturated with entrepreneurs. Nigeria has too many problems to solve and putting it in simple terms entrepreneurs solve problems. Yes we know that entrepreneurship is not easy but it is very possible to make it.

Capital is key. Managing finances is also important. For example some 1 that has 500k and goes into egg trading can build a decent business. But if you have 500k and decided to go into a capital intensive biz will certainly fold up.

Lastly, our education system has groomed every1 to believe that you can make it only with paid employment aka whit collar jobs. As a result, entrepreneurship looks like a far reach. These preachers of entrepreneurship are doing their part to re educate us that you can actually make it without paid employment.

Op, I will write from experience, 3years ago, I was working at a kitchen company, my pay W's btwn 50k to 70k, well I worked for the company as a sales person and made a lot of contact, as times past, the zeal of being my own boss continued to grow in me, I had a knack for hair making, during my stay at d company, I saved up to a million naira, because all I could think of was to start a beauty parlour of my own.
Well to cut the long story short, I resigned, against all words of advice I got from family and friends to keep my job then, start the business and keep it running for a year, before leaving finally.

I got a place, and all the equipment required for a standard unisex salon, boom, d salon was up and running but within three months, I started to see why I W's advised to keep my job and run the business for a year, the first year was very challenging, because it entailed. Building a strong loyal clientele who would have to get used to patronising and getting used to your location, the cash wasn't coming in as I anticipated.

I wasn't even making up to what I earned after deducting salaries, and paying bills monthly, as a matter of fact nothing, I also had some challenges that required extra finances to settle to boost my business up, but because at that initial stage, there wasn't any other source of income and I as d ceo W's making barely nothing a month, I became stuck , broke and didn't even know where my next rent (house and shop) was to come from.

Behold, after 6months, I was back to the market, hunting for job, I soon got another job! And it became much easier.

Where am I headed? All I am saying in a nutshell is, stay with Ur current job, kick strt ur business, run the 2, give your business 3 years to stabilise, before you finally resign. I only pray, you can jiggle through both.... all the best.

Hmm what an experience.

However, I will say that the business you decided to venture into is a business that constantly fails. Salon has a high failure rate. Therefore you cannot rate all businesses on this experience

Pls, don't quit your job. You are going to regret it later. Combine the both and quit when the time is right.

My dear if your job PAYS WELL, I beg of you DO NOT QUIT. The entrepreneural market is Saturated. Almost Every graduate/non graduate is now a business person. I understand the joy of being an entrepreneur but please do your home work well before bandwagoning. #My1cent

The entrepreneurial market can never be over saturated. If it is, why do we still have so much problems in Nigeria to solve. Entrepreneurs are problem solvers- simple. By the way, is the job market not saturated with all sorts?...Bsc. OND, HND, Msc, MBA, PHd, DBA......but how many of these degree holders have you seen in the rich list. Business owners hire them..(think about it for a second)

Reading through comments, I observed no one is actually answering his concerns.

My advise is;

You have to decisive and make the decision. Procrastinating the decision will just keep the issue lingering in your mind.

Do you have capital or access to capital? if yes, then what are you waiting for? Secondly, there are investors everywhere you just need to find them and pitch your idea.

Do you strongly believe in your idea? if yes, then commit yourself totally to it and you will surely make it. First year will be difficult no doubt, but if you hang on and pass through the difficult period, you will soon become an employer.

Are you a family man? if not, then this is the best time to leap into entrepreneurship. it is very liberating especially if you know what you are doing.

How much are you receiving as salary? can you save from it to start your business? if yes, save some money which you will use personally so you don't depend on any1

Is entrepreneurship your dream? if yes, then take the leap out of the plane. when you do, you will slowly build your self.

People fail to realize that entrepreneurship is a job and you can even have different businesses. Nigeria has groomed most of us to believe that you can only make a living from a white collar job. But guess what, it is a lie. Having your business at a young age is the best feeling.

People think only of failure. Am not saying that failure is not possible. it is and you will probably fail. if you do, you become tougher and more focused to be successful. Furthermore, just think you are successful in your business. You become a role model to so many.

In summary, assess yourself and make the decision. With Planning, hard work, smart work and determination any business you do will be successful

Hope I helped out.

Peace

Olofo, Have you asked yourself why Buhari is yet to release his ministerial list?
The north is busy filling replacements for directors and perm secs for MDAs
by next month, many southerners will be relieved of their position in the ministries, depts and agencies and some charged to court for corruption.
The northernization agenda is on full swing.
Ministers powers will be seriously reduced except key northern ministers.

All the lovers of PES sorry...I am what they call a real gamer and have played both. FIFA rules any day any time. PES is not realistic is any way. just use Messi and run and u will score 80% of the time. That ridiculous. Then the licence issue like seriously what is London blue or man red. Then the sound effect..rotten....the options...the defending....just everything is wrong..note played PES wella so I know what am saying.

Now FIFA. Wow what a game. For eg bale motion sensors where placed on him to get his exact movement. The game play is nice. U have to build up play the midfield just like real football. You get engrossed into fifa the more you play it. It grows on you. The songs are epic. In short FIFA nor get mate. PES should be played in only North Korea.

If u want to add me on FIFA14 send Ur PSN I'd let's enjoy the magnificent of the game.

Nigerian learn how to support people who r trying and instead of just writing rubbish, give reasonable criticism so it improves the person it directed to.

Romance / What Is The Right Age To Get Married? by mekussays: 4:50pm On Apr 24, 2013
This is a topic that comes to mind to most people at a certain time of discussion. Well using the pointers i will give, you can answer the question yourself.

1. are you both financially stable? Getting married is not about money to go and watch movies or money to buy chicken and chips, it takes a lot more than that. once married all the financially burden falls on the couples. no more dads money. so analyse both your incomes to see if it would be enough to live comfortably(feeding, housing, a bit of social life)

2. are you both emotionally matured? i hear some peeps say 21 is too young to get married but you may find out that the person is emotionally matured to get married cuz he/she has been thru a lot being a teenager and can deal with the issues marriage brings and this can be the direct opposite for an older person who has always relied on his/her parent for every difficult situation. Once you get married a lot of difficulty will come with it and you will not have any1 to help you deal with it only yourself. the couple need to be able to deal with very difficult emotional situation which cannot be avoided. Avoiding difficult situations usually crumbles the marriage.

3. are you ready to compromise in the marriage? this is one of the most important point. giving up what you love best(clubbing, hours on the phone with your bestfriend or any other thing) just to make things work is compromise. Many failing marriages always lack this as one party is never willing to compromise. Truly being in love would bring natural compromise and this should be a give and take situation. but compromising doesnt mean just putting up with your partner to avoid argument, compromise should be done as a act of kindness and love and should bring happiness.

4. likes and dislikes? he like watching football and she likes watch keeping up with the kardashains. can you guys accepts each other likes without being in unbearable pain?he leaves stuff everywhere and she take hours in the bathroom. can you accept this dislikes? this point goes hand in hand with the point mentioned above that once you can compromise and allow him watch his football or vice versa that things will go much better. Adjusting to his likes and her dislikes would help to achieving a successful marriage.

based on the points mentioned above you can decide the right age to get married. if by 21 you bear the characteristics mentioned then go ahead. on the other hand if by 35 you are not financially stable, quarrel with your girlfriend about everything and hate everything she does, then maybe priesthood is for you.
Politics / Re: Fashola Destroys Slums In Lagos, Leaving Thousands Homeless by mekussays: 1:27am On Mar 04, 2013
Am sure they were served notice before the government embarked on demolishing the place. The same thing happen for makoko slum. They were served notice to leave but trust nigerians they ignored it. If u have ever being to a slum u will understand why such drastic action has to taken. All those saying relocate them, where can they be relocated to cuz they r not indigenes, they don't pay tax, they don't contribute to the economy. Lagos was left for too long without controls to check illegal settlement and whether it sounds wrong or not, actions like this has to be taken to bring sanity back because if u live in lagos u will understand why this has to be done.
It might sound really harsh but check out the living conditions in d slum. It is terrible. Human beings are not meant to live like that. Why r people calling it a home when actually it is just wood and zinc that can collapse anytime and kill. These people cannot afford to live in lagos and the solution is to go back from where they came and decongest lagos. We all know they r human but mehn they are causing a menace to the environment, polluting everywhere, breeding all sort of disease, breeding criminals. Fashola actions were harsh but necessary. GBAM
