A 28-year-old woman has been arrested in Chachoengsao’s Phanom Sarakham district, Thailand for hiring her 5-year-old daughter out to men as a prostitute.

The woman allegedly gives her daughter to men for sex in exchange for payments ranging from Bt200 to Bt300 on each occasion.

According to the provincial police deputy chief Pol Colonel Kriengkrai Boonson, the woman was arrested after she had given her daughter to a 52-year-old unnamed customer.

The man was reportedly using a intimacy gadget on the child in a pick-up truck’s cargo bed when police showed up to arrest them.

The mother was arrested after a complaint was made with the police on the issue of abuse of the child.

The mother was charged for procuring a child for prostitution, illegal detention and coercion, while the man was charged for raping a minor under 16 and molesting a minor under 15.

Investigations revealed that the woman has been selling her daughter for sex for several months before she was caught on that occasion.

The child has been rescued and has been handed over to social services.

Alternative singer Adekunle Gold, has explained the reason behind him reaching out to former MTN Project Fame Winner, Olawale, who was seen riding an Uber.

Few weeks ago, Olawale was spotted driving an Uber and some Nigerians mocked him on how he went from being a winner to a driver.

Adekunle Gold in a Chat with Cool FM disclosed why he reached out to help him;


“So there’s this guy called Olawale, he won Project Fame and I can’t remember which year. When I saw his video that went viral talking about him doing uber and how people have abused him on how do you go from winning Project Fame to riding Uber, and he was just being honest. He was just saying I can’t steal, I don’t know how to steal, a man has to do what he has to do to fend for himself. And that touched me because that’s everything I’ve always been about. My essence is always just Work. The dignity in labour is underrated in this country. People do so much, but they don’t get celebrated. You don’t even need to celebrated for what you are doing, but at least get rewarded. So it just touched me ‘I should help this guy.”
