QueenJazz: Babe rest. You will still go to the World Cup and finish in Round of 32. No be South Africa again? 🤣🤣🤣
Super Eagles are massive underachievers, but we dey learn work for where una dey. With the nonsense and confusion surrounding our own football federation, it's a miracle how we consistently manage to get good results like getting to the AFCON finals or winning the WAFCON.
You guys, with all your development and team cohesiveness, the best result you can get after all these years against a trashy Nigeria is measly draw, and you are coming here to shine your brown teeth? 🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations on making it to the World Cup. But we all know you will still come back empty handed, that is if you are lucky enough to pass the group stage. 😭😭 How sure are you that South Africa will qualify. Do not congratulate them yet. |

I rest my case and my contributions to the Super Eagles for now. |

Peseiro's ultra defensive approach during that AFCON tourney that he held sway was largely due to Wilfred Ndidi's absence.
I don't know why many fail to see Ndidi's impact in our midfield.
Ndidi's EPL numbers then, were no fluke.
I lamented Ndidi's absence. |

Diavolo: so you can't figure out that putting a right footed slow Cb on the left side of the defence carries the risk that he can do an own goal when dealing with low crosses coming in from the left?. It's basic principle. If bassey was in Ekong position,he would have cleared it with his left leg rather than Ekong having to awkwardly position his body to clear with his right leg leading to the own goal Tell them. Bad coaching. They won't still get it. |

No matter which coach you appoint if our players are not taking enough responsibility these are the kind of results we will continue to get It falls on the coach to pick his players and work with them. |

Since they have never played for free, it's not sacrifice to the Nation, rather it's the country that gave them th opportunity that should be praised. Just one match bonus can pay 10 doctors for 10 months. How much is being paid them as match bonuses. Let's be honest here. These players played their hearts out. That being said, Chelle stays. He has the right ideas. His problem so far is timing, but with enough time and familiarity, I'm confident he'll get things right. Eric Chelle's work with CHAN Eagles exposed him big time. |

Later in future some of these today's players will come to the media and say they gave their all to Nigeria playing for the NT but the Nigeria government has forgotten them It makes me sad when bad coaching heaps losses on us and players get the blame. These players sacrifice their club careers just to make their nation proud, and all you have to call them is overhyped. These players get career threatening injuries putting their bodies in line. That football pitch is another issue. |

We should not allow South Africa dominate in ball possession, else we are done with. We should fight and win every ball.
They are not defensively as strong as Rwanda, not at all, and will try to have an edge through keeping possession of the ball and mounting pressure on our defense. If we are starved of the ball how do we intend to score.
We have the players that can break up plays, we have players that serve long balls, we have dribblers.
If it is up to me, i will utilise Christantus Uche as the CF, especially for this kind of encounter. Iwobi on the right, Lookman on the left, Chukwueze behind Uche. |

Before South Africa knows what’s happening it’s 3-0.
This things just happens in football, though unexplainable, just the way Argentina no matter how bad will beat Nigeria at world, the same no matter how bad a Ghana team is, they will be very tough for Nigeria to beat, na the same way Nigeria go beat South Africa tomorrow.
If it was in uyo they would stand a chance, but in their home, they will collect. Simon is good. |

bingbagbo: Nigeria do not have a strong national team. Nigerians are deceived by the hype around their Europe born players who are usually only average or below average
Nigeria has no creative midfielders. They have an average winger — Simon who has a rather poor end product. The stats also prove that Nigeria has a very weak attack force and have no world-class strikers— forget the hype around the drama-king, osimhen.
South Africa will be too strong for this Nigerian team come Tuesday, Mark my words. Even if Nigeria strangely manages to pick all three points because of the uncertainty of football results sometimes, South Africa still will lead the table with superior points and goals.
Nigeria must disband this current set up and start rebuilding for 2030. We have good players that are above average. Let's take for instance the Moses Simon that you mentioned. The highest goal assists made by a player in the just concluded french ligue was 11, Moses Simon had 10. Those are not stats for an average player. He was at a time leading in the assists ranking. He did it in a team like Nantes, not the PSG, Marseille or Monaco of this world. We have a very good team. |

hatakekakashi: It is actually true. Iwobi is the main culprit Iwobi is not lackadaisical. Do you know how many tackles and recoveries Iwobi made against Rwanda from my eye test. Iwobi made a goal line clearance. Iwobi's primary role in midfield is not a defensive role, even if it is. You need a trained eye to assess a player's involvements. A player may not rush into duels, but has a way of blocking passing channels. Some players needs to be be free sometimes in order to receive passes depending on the team's structure and tactics of the day. |

hatakekakashi: Also, it's as if they're not motivated by the chance of playing in the world cup except few of them like Osimhen that's not playing and maybe Tolu. They are not fighting and chasing down every loose ball, just being lackadaisical. Chai. This is not true. |

It was said that Eric Chelle tried to raise the mentality of the players. I commend him highly for that. Mentality can be everything
However our tactical approach to the game against Rhwanda was ill informed and undeveloped. I don't want anybody to feel bad, but honesty must be touched.
You can't breakdown a compact wall by trying to dribble your way through and firing shots hoping that one will result to a goal. At least two or three failed attempts should have made you reconsider your approach.
To breakdown a low block you will need to move the ball from side to side to see if you can distort the opponent's defensive shape. I thought that was what we were about to implement when we overloaded our left hand side of attack, I thought of a quickly switch to the right to see if we can get an open shot at goal, but nah, we tried to waltz through a crowded space on the left. The Rwandans defended in zones and this helped their goalkeeper a lot.
We have the midfielders that can break down a low block. Alex Iwobi excels in that, Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele Bashiru are all tidy in their passes.
I must commend the experience that Iwobi and Ndidi brought to the middle game. These guys impressed massively yesterday. |

Sugarboyy: That's why I mentioned the second option. Some of our better players don't give their all when playing for the SE and it's part of the reason we are where we are now. As good as Iwobi in Fulham and the premier league, what has he contributed to the SE in this qualifiers so far? What about Simon, Chukwueze, Ekong, Ndidi, Aribo at some point, Boniface, Awoniyi, and their likes... What has been their contributions?
Duraissay scored twice today, Salah scored, Marmouise scored, Bakambu scored, these players always does well playing for their NT, can same be said of the SE players, aside Osimhen, Lookman, Bassey and Aina? Iwobi should be coming from the flanks, that is where he will excel the most especially in our set up and pattern of play. We have seen the Super Eagles under different coaches and it is very clear to see how this coaches have affected their pattern of play. These players have shown distant approaches in their play. If their playing style is exactly the same, we can say for sure that the problem is with them, but we see different coaches and how their unique style has changed the way we play. So the problem is the coaches not the players. |

Sugarboyy: The reasons are simple and they are 2 reasons. 1. Our players are not just good enough, we the fans are guilty of overhyping them e.g (Chukwueze, Simon, Ekong, Ndidi, Osayi). 2. Some that are good doesn't give their all and shows much commitments when playing for the national team (e.g Iwobi)
To me, only Osimhen, Lookman, Aina and Bassey (Nwabali is also cool) can break into any national team.
That's why during SE matches, you will see some of these so called professionals making school boys errors, errors that were supposedly avoidable even without a coach. The bolded is not true, even if it is, let's be honest, the South African team that are leading the charts do they have better players, I am not saying that we have better players because of the league our players feature in, I am making my emphasis on player to player comparison. The South African teams is well managed and better coached. The problem is not in the players, believe me. |

Philosopher1979: I always suspected samuel chukwueze could play through the middle instead of the wings. I thought maybe a supporting striker. Maybe h eight be better as an attacking midfielder. His dribblingband creativity seems more dangerous down the middle. Let's see is it works for him in midfield. This is one change that I respect chelle for Yes. |

BankyGee: Chelle has not done bad so far. That's the point.
Just two competitive games played? 1 win, 1 draw? You're calling for his head already? While winning games can be a yardstick for assessing a coach's ability, It is however not the true litmus test. Eric Chelle's tactical decisions leaves a lot to be desired. Improvement is a possible for any person, I hope to see how he organises the personnel he selects and his approach to the game on Saturday. |

BankyGee: Chelle played the Unity Cup and Russia too with like a very almost entire new set of Super Eagles players and didn't lose any match.
I don't think Finidi George and Eguavoen can pull that off. Only Osimhen no dey all of them dey lose and draw matches, ONLY Osimhen. Chelle played the Unity Cup and friendly without:
Ola Aina Bassey Ekong Iwobi Lookman Osimhen Onyemaechi Onyedika Onyeka
Chukwueze was even absent in the friendly Nwabali absent in the friendly too
And we scored and didn't lose any match, Osimhen was good in the two World Cup qualifiers he played, he should always be good, it's what he does consistently. It doesn't mean the coach didn't have any effect on the game. Osimhen, Lookman, Iwobi, Aina, Bassey were the players absent in the friendly games and unity cup tourney. The rest featured in either or both. We have the players that can make things happen. We just need the right mind to lay down the plan and the preparations. |
