QueenJazz: Oga we've not lost any game under Eric Chelle with our main squad. At least give the benefit of doubt.
It's your kind of negative thinking that stagnates our football. Sacking coaches every 3 market days. I am actually being positive. You see when you call a black kettle, a black kettle, you are saying things exactly as they are. Osimhen was the difference maker. Not Eric Chelle's ingenuity. |

QueenJazz: You do realize that Chelle has gotten more points for us than Finidi and Peseiro so far in these FIFA WC qualifiers, right? You do realize that so far we haven't lost a FIFA qualifying game under Chelle, right?
If we don't qualify, should Chelle take the blame? Of course. But I'll only blame him partly because 1) no be him go hold the players legs to play the ball and 2) the gospel truth is that it's Finidi and Peseiro that put him in the position he's in right now.
It's going to take something special to pull us out of the mess we're in now, and I'm not saying 100% that it will happen, but in the unlikely event that it does, I hope negative posters like you will be here to swallow your words and give him his accolades.
And even if he fails, then tough luck. But I will still insist that he stays to improve with the squad. Remember we still have the AFCON. Osimhen was the difference maker, not Eric Chelle. |

komekn: To put it simply Zaidu is a water 💦 carrying carpenter that can run fast but not faster than Aina. He is technically very poor and with low level football intelligence.
Aina could play midfield very easily for Nigeria as well as RB and RW he has arguably the best passing range end product in the team.
If we can't find a quality top level technically astute LB then we should let Aina play LB and get someone else to play RB the problem is who though 😔 Regarding the bolded, you are blatantly wrong and far from the truth. Raphael Onyedika, Alhassan Yusuf, Chidera Ejuke, Calvin Bassey, Igoh Ogbu, Benjamin Federick, Alex lwobi, are ahead of Ola Aina. If it boils down to passing range, Aina is not even in the top 10 Super Eagles players with the best passing range. |

chrisooblog: One of the rare times I agree with you.
Ejuke has to deliver more on his potential and be more end product driven in terms of his G/A ratio.
We tired of endless dribbles with no set goal. I wanted to see more of defending and key passes, and this is exactly what is he is doing now. Massive improvement. End product? He has been told over and over about his end product. He has worked so much on his shooting. I feel they should stop telling him that. Too much of everything is bad. If he stays injury free and with the right mentality, he will deliver. |

How many goals , assists etc has he scored is he an outstanding player in his league and club ❓
In the past 5 years he has never scored more than 5 league goals in a season.
Dude 😎 you are capping. Technicality, skill, talent or whatever terminology that can be used to qualify a man's gift is usually not enough. Mentality is everything, and the right mentality can be cultivated. Chidera Ejuke has what it takes to make his mark and write his name in bold, he just needs the mentality. No Super Eagles player has his level of skill. I am not alone in this conclusion. Many reputable websites and stats summaries are also saying the same. |

Do South Africans have better players? When we compare individual players, we have more quality, not even because of the football leagues our players ply, but on pure individual skill level.. We have a serious coaching problem. |

Diavolo: Ever since Chelle first came on board, I have maintained the same opinion: he is either deluded or out of his depth. Last year, Paulo Fonseca was appointed as the coach of AC Milan. He attempted to impose a tiki-taka style on a counter-attacking team, which obviously didn't work. We lost many matches, and he was sacked in mid-December, less than five months into his tenure.
Chelle seems to be making the same mistakes. He is using a diamond formation, placing players in positions that do not suit their strengths, and employing overly complicated tactics. When the team list for Chan was released, people complained that he hadn't selected the best personnel. Imagine going to a competition without a defensive midfielder or any wingers, and instead taking fringe players! He defended his selections, claiming they were the best for his tactics.
Now that we are facing defeats, some people are blaming the players. Who else can we hold accountable if not Chelle and his unrealistic tactics? It's worth noting that the Sudan league has been on break for over a year due to civil war. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with Chelle and no one else. I have never resonated with Chelle from day one. Everyone on this thread knows that. About his approaches, something is always off. I believe that one day we will make the right appointment of coach. |

Diavolo: I'm not surprised, and in fact, I'm happy with this result. Hopefully, it brings Chelle back to reality. It's important not to impose ideas on players but rather to analyze their strengths and find the best tactics to utilize them. Some people may criticize the players and claim they are inadequate for these tactics, but perhaps the truth is that the tactics themselves are unrealistic. I hope he learns from this experience and wakes up before our match against South Africa; otherwise, we could be in for a long ride. Thank you so much. I can recall Chelle prioritising direct play with quick transitions and long balls, but left out Frank Onyeka who fits very well into that design and plays Raphael Onyedika from the bench. It was very clear that the Chan Eagles do not have the kind of drilling required for Eric Chelle's idea of football. The players suffer a lot from lapses in concentration. |

jihday: just stop this thing you are always doing Just stop this thing you are always doing. Do we have a profile like Kelechi Nwakali in the national team? No, we don't. We do not, and that is the plain, honest and barefaced truth. We do not have midfielders who can play the ball like Nwakali. It was in this forum, that I posted Kelechi Nwakali averaging at least two crosses per game. A feat that equalled that of Kelvin De Bruyne. Even our fullbacks and forwards can't do that. |

TheGoodJoe: Onyedika is not but he has other attributes like his defending, off the ball runs to the opposition. He has the long passes.
I am not saying I prefer Onyedika for the deep lying role. I am saying for now, Kelechi Nwakali's focus should be on making a name in club football. Not National team call up. Yes, a skillful player like Nwakali should do everything possible to establish himself at club level. But that doesn't mean he has a replacement in the national team. |

I don't think it is necessary since we have a more experienced Onyedika that can play that role. I would prefer Kelechi Nwakali focusing on improving his performances in his club than Super Eagles call up. If Raphael Onyedika is half as creative as Kelechi Nwakali. |

komekn: When you perform outstandingly the football ⚽ market responds with heated transfer demands from multiple top clubs.
After 25 games he has 2 goals and one assist, all the dribbling and stats are not transfering to dominance on the field of play it seems 🤔.
I'll say it again most statistics are not entirely conclusive but indicative. How many games did he start? How many minutes did he accrue? So Possession won in midfield per 90 is not dominance? Beating your marker in order to create space is not dominance? Do you know the situation at Sevilla? Do you know their struggles? Chidera Ejuke is a fantastic player, his time is at hand. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Meliforme: 1:26pm On Jun 16, 2025*. Modified: 2:55pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
Chidera Ejuke's most impressive stat for me is possession won in midfield per 90. He currently seats in the 9th position in La Liga stats table. A position contested by both midfielders and forwards. A statistic that has at least four Barcelona players in the top 10, explaining one of the reasons for Barcelona's dominance in the Spanish football.
I have noticed a pattern in the matches for Sevilla that has Chidera Ejuke in the starting line up. Sevilla will go on to concede only after Ejuke has been subbed out. This tells a lot about how important Ejuke is to the game of ball possession and defending. |

TheGoodJoe: @ TheSuperNerd
I think that is why Pep Guardiola went all out for Cherki and also getting Reijnders and Ait Nouri. Choking the opposition with flair in numbers will break compact defenses. Time will tell.
Chidera E juke should be dancing Alanta because they are now the wanted breeds Yes, Dribbling and switch of play using long balls are very important to breaking down a compact setup at the back. Chidera Ejuke recorded the most dribbles completed per 90 for any player in Europe's top 5 league, before his injury, and currently seats only behind Yamal in La Liga stats table for the just concluded league season His passes of the ball and the switch of play using long balls is a delight. |
