Sportilitica: That is the main problem with our attack. You cannot have an Osihmen or Onuachu as a 9 and still no crosses for them to contest. All this dribbling and taking on defenders without putting a cross is zero output. The wingers need to put in more crosses to increase our chances of scoring. The only 2 successful crosses if i may use the phrase was from Shehu(Musa missed the chance) and Collins which led to the first goal. The rest were just running down the wings.
My good man, is crossing ability the only thing that is reckoned as end product?
The ability to beat your marker in both pace and dribbles is a huge asset to any winger. While he needs to work on crossing the ball, his long balls, through balls and finishing are good. I have seen Ejuke deliver good crosses, but that is usually not the first thing he would want to do.
wayodude: Defensively, Simon is the best of the lot. Ejuke also did his defensive duties well yesterday. Without those less than glamorous efforts the team balance would not be there and thats when the wahala will start. Sure bring on Chukwueze, Kalu etc when we are bossing games and are going to be on the front foot for long periods but in away games and when the midfield is not sure to boss the game Simon PLAYS!!
TheSuperNerd: You are wrong Citizen. "Below par" paints the wrong picture of Ejuke's Creative and playmaking abilities.
You know this is same way you watched Dessers week in, week out and conclude he is better than both Osimhen and Haaland.
Look, I watch Ejuke too weekly and believe he can do a makeshift job behind a striker at least for today's game if it comes down to that choice with Kalu out of the picture.
Ejuke created 45 chances in 24 starts (25 games) in 2019/2020 at Heereneven in the Eredivisie alone.
'Created 24 chances in 18 starts (25 games) in his first season in Russia - 2020/21 season.
And so far in 21/22, lad has created 5 chances in 4 starts (6 games) in the league alone.
You watch the lad, yes. But I guess you don't observe enough to see he has the potentials to play the role if need be.
And I know you rate the lad but at times it is as if you feel you have to drop one or two sour points on lads you rate so as to seem unbiased towards them. But truth is, I feel in doing so, you end up making some wrong assertions.
Thank you TheSuperNerd.
I was taken aback when i met the words "below par".
Sainty92: Thank u my brother. There is virtually not much difference between the both players but the way people criticize Aina even wen he had a good game is uncalled for. Am one of Ebuehi's fan but the way people slander Aina as if Ebuehi will do Almighty work on Rb. Just imagine how you said the Pk was not Ebuehi's fault which is 100% true and everyone agrees with u. Assuming it was Aina who committed the pk, only few people here will say it was not his fault. Lol
Mr Sainty,
That we prefer Ebuehi in the right-back position, does not in any way insinuate a detest for the versatile Aina. This is a matter of preference. The predilection so expressed is not a blind one as the reasons for such have been supplied.
Sainty92: I vividly understand you boss. But I want to know how u knew Ebuehi had the best education and training. Or perhaps u said it based on assumptions or maybe Ebuehi himself came out to say it or maybe u mean Ebuehi went through the rudiment at a better academy than Chelsea's youth academy which Aina started from. Pardon my ignorance bro, I just want to know how u knew Ebuehi had better education, training and exposure than Aina
I said "more exposure" of whose synonyms includes: education, training and participation, in the RB role
Please pay attention to the italicised.
Ab initio, i said more education and training in the RB role. Thank you for saying the best education and training, because if he has more exposure, then he has the better exposure, and consequently the best exposure. Thank you again for the better elucidation. You are my guy.
Sainty92: Ebuehi appears to have more education/training in Rb role than Aina how? Are you forgetting Aina's root? Someone that cut his teeth in one(if not the best) of the best academy in the world at Cobham Chelsea?? Ebuehi seems to be more tidy in possession like u highlighted but Aina seems to have that robustness and physicality that suits African games. You said Ebuehi is less prone to errors, but I bet if it was Aina that gave a penalty away to Iceland which sirgudson missed at the last worldcup, u would have demanded his head. Aina has not really made any error leading to goal or threat to goal recent games but some people just want him out and Ebuehi in. Well, your wish might be granted on Tuesday
Let me make it simpler to grasp, Ebuehi has more exposure in the RB role, these exposure includes: education, training and participation. This is one of the reasons why he is more advanced.
Defenders do commit errors. the statement: "Ebuehi is less prone to errors", is in the comparative where Ebuehi and Aina are the fellows in the perspective.
andrew444: Aina has been okay for the eagles and not below average
Stop saying what you dont know
You guys will watch a full 90 minutes game where there is no fault from aina position but you will ignore others fault and critisize him
Who is ourselves ?I think You are among the sentimental people i am speaking of
What was aina fault yesterday
You guys should stop the aina hate abeg
Aina is a good player, this is conspicuous.
We prefer Ebuehi in RB for the following reasons:
Ebuehi is best suited and more advanced in that role. Ebuehi appears to have more education and training in that role than any, in the contemporary assemblage of SE players.
Ebuehi is more tidy in possession. Giving the ball away more often puts more pressure on the team and most definitely will affect the implementation of tactics.
Ebuehi is less prone to errors. Ebuehi's calm composure, concentration and reading of the game is worthy of note. These attributions are invariably the raison d'etre for the precision and astuteness we have seen in his games. Little errors can prove to be very costly and can be the difference between victory and defeat.
I have said it before and i will say it again Iwobi, Chukwueze, Onyekuru and of recent Ejukeare the best wingers in the current crop of players that we parade.
But loyalty isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It is very clear Osimhen doesn't thrive well under the current 4-4-2 formation. We have more wingers than midfielders. Iwobi played well because he can also thrive as a midfielder.
But we will concede less goals with this formation.
dozai: He should consult King KANU. Looks like he dribbles any stockings that is not of the same colour with his. I guess he didn't know that the goal was right in front of him. A bit of calmness would have done d magic.
Ejuke's dribble against Zenith St Petersburg. Please watch from 2:19. Ejuke's dribbling style can raze down walls The dribble was made in a desperate effort to get an equalizer. He needs to work on his impulses.
fabyom: Then CAF should take the game away from Cape Verde! Football is not table tennis, you can't expect the players that have never played together before to beat a team like Cape Verde on astroturf in Cape Verde with just 3 days of training. This is how we underestimated Angola away from home in 2005 and lost by a single goal which eventually cost us the 2006 world cup ticket. The NFF needs to put pressure on CAF to take the game to a COVID-free country. We will lose scandalously without our EPL boys!
