Please how much is biometric fee and writing sponsorship letter and cover letter , do I need to write that with my business letter head or I do it without it ? Newbiein2016: I don't understand the latter part of the question.
If she's applying from the UK, a few things to guide her:
1. How much time does she have on her study permit? If she has 3months left for example, this might cause IRCC to think she plans to settle in Canada through her visit visa.
She needs to apply with ample time left on her BRP
2. If she has any kind of work including part-time, she should include the contract or agreement for this, any proof of payment as well as her bank account.
3. Where does she live? She can attach a letter from her landlord confirming consistent payment of rent or tenancy agreement ( if it will expire well after her return from Canada). Utility bills too!
4. She should show connections with her school by including a stamped letter of introduction, transcript showing commitment to achieving good grades, school fees receipt etc.
5. As she is in the UK, might be worthwhile to include recent 2-3 months' credit card statements (if the dues are low) + state the credit limits + mention that she will bring these cards for her visit
Of course all of this is in addition to sponsorship letter & documents from her sponsor.
I'm uncertain how the NYSC certificate would support her application as a UK student.
Her application should be centered around providing good answers to the question "why you are going to leave Canada?". |

Yes her brp is expiring next year . Okay will do that thanks. I’m applying for everyone one as a family. That means she will do her biometrics in Uk right ? Newbiein2016: I don't understand the latter part of the question.

Thank you so much , please if my daughter in the Uk is applying , and the work section does she need to submit any thing concerning the work section. Like nysc should she upload her nysc certificate or it’s not necessary ? Newbiein2016: I'd say yes but customized e.g. each kids' doc will contain all of your supporting docs, birth certificate & photos to show relationship with the sponsor and the rest of the travel group, school files (transcripts etc), cover letter outlining purpose of trip including itinerary, sponsorship letter highlighting all the ties & financial capabilities.
Basically I advise to treat each as an individual application on the off chance that it is not reviewed by the same visa officer.
If it's an overkill, you can leave out things like house documents etc from their docs.
As always, this is based solely on my opinions. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by meljoe: 11:41pm On Jul 13, 2023 |
Yes I understand but what I mean is when I’m uploading it , do I upload the same thing under everybody portal , or I should be specific. For example I upload birth certificate , house papers and the rest under mine , should I do the same for them too or I should just upload just their school papers and birth certificate with sponsorship letter ? Newbiein2016: Given you are the sponsor, your ties (familial, economic etc.) are important to support their application, especially if they are under 21 as just shared.
For any one over 21, all your supporting documents + any additional proof of ties for them e.g. any Pet Project they are involved in at school or at work could be useful. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by meljoe: 11:31pm On Jul 13, 2023 |
What I meant is , if I’m uploading all I have started above under my own application, should I do the same for my kids or just upload what concerns each child ? Newbiein2016: Not sure what the latter means but you will have to upload supporting documents for each person.
As it's a family trip, itineraries, budgets and even activities might be similar for all so I won't be overly concerned there.
PS: Just a reminder as extensively discussed here, for all kids over 21 years old, they will have to qualify on their own as well as any support that you may offer or demonstrate for them will only be supplementary. |

Please when uploading documents , do I upload the same documents for i and my kids or I should upload according to specifications? |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by meljoe: 8:14pm On Jul 12, 2023 |
Okay thank you so much. Do I upload all the documents for each person or select it ? Newbiein2016: Could you add latest transcripts as well if available as the goal is to point out that these kids have to return to complete school.
Anything that can prove your ties needs to be added e.g. I recall a friend who was the chair of their 'ajo' meeting of 35 persons included a signed statement regarding their end of year party to drive home her own ties. She also had the church send a stamped letter as part of some festive events she was leading (and as a bona-fide and active church member). I thought it was funny but after thinking it through, it made sense.
Point being, Canada is quite finicky with tourist visas and they'll always err on the side of caution if they have any concern, whatever you think will help, include it.
Re: flight and hotel, I always include those in visa applications as I don’t see anything wrong here. I go for book on hold and/or options with free cancellation. Never pay for any of these without a confirmed visa. |
Travel › Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by meljoe: 11:57am On Jul 12, 2023 |

Do I need to book hotel reservations and flight reservations? Do I need to upload that too ? Newbiein2016: If the IRCC tracking portal (https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login) was last updated on 20th June, it has an update indicating they sent you a message & it is very likely the next update might have your visa details on tracker.
Don't worry unless you need to. Your passport is out for stamping, so just hold on until you get notified for delivery |

Thank you so much , it’s 7.5m for 10 days and in Canadian dollar is 12,692. I divided it by 4 which is 3,173 . I’m going to fill 3,173 for everyone including mine right ? And filling for my kids that the funds are not available to them and filling im the one sponsoring doesn’t matter ? Newbiein2016: 1. Refusals should be disclosed. People have gotten 5year bans for failure to do this.
2. Keeping her school address is OK.
3. You completing the form is OK as well. You are the main applicant for a group trip and there's nothing wrong with doing this.
4. Might be good to split the budget amongst the group based on the itinerary and budget you have mapped out. So c$1.2k for flights + c$250 for accomodation + c$ 'X' estimate for activities, food etc. should then be listed for each traveller. |

In the work section , under address I put in the name of her secondary school plus the address is that okay ?? And also when I started filling the form , there’s a section that says if someone is filling for you I clicked yes and I put my name , is that okay ? Under my kid’s application when asked how much will you spend in Canada , should I put in the amount under mine ? And I clicked yes under is someone else giving you money for your stay and I filled it that my mother will be sponsoring the trip , is that okay ? Is it complusory to disclose refusals ? I’m sorry for the plenty questions lol Newbiein2016: Yes. She was not employed as she was a student. The education section dates will corroborate this.
The school address should be OK as she was a student. |

Please while filling my daughter details for work , she was in secondary school by then , I choose unemployed. The date I should put is the date she was in high school right ? And the address is address of her high school or home address ? Newbiein2016: I'm thinking 10days can get you to spend about ₦7.5m. See flights and airbnb estimates (airbnb is 20mins from Toronto, leaving you with a fair budget for food, activities & transport).
That's up to you regarding the UK adult. As she isn't based in Nigeria, she doesn't serve as a strong hometie for any of her siblings IMO. |

Please what number of days do you think will be okay for 7-7.5m for 4 adults ? Yes I will surely add their school documents. I have a daughter in the Uk , so you think it’s better she applies with us and she adds her school documents , will that increase our strong ties ? Newbiein2016: https://www.budgetyourtrip.com/canada/toronto estimates about c$1.9k per adult per week, but with things like shared accomodation, not eating out each meals and going on free tours where available, should come down.
I'll advice to target about ₦7 - 7.5m max because there are 4 adults on the trip & reduce number of days.
Additionally, since your 3 kids are adults & you are the sponsor, their application must be well put together as they still need to demonstrate strong ties to return home to even though they are dependent on you for financial support.
E.g. for students, you should include things like tuition fee receipts + latest transcripts/mark sheets + student ID + any proof that can show why they must be back after the Canada visit. |

I calculated flights , hotels and money to hold.
They are all adults oh I have four kids , 3 will be traveling with me and are all adults. So including me that’s 4 adults. We will be staying for 2 weeks in Toronto. How much do you think will be ideal , 6m , 8m or 9m ?
quote author=Newbiein2016 post=124356670]I think it's too much considering the balance.
Might need to revise your itinerary and rebudget to reduce this. Could you share how you initially arrived at c$10k? When you say a family of 4, are they all adults? 2 adults, 2 children?
This further affects your budget and the activities in your itinerary.
The sweet spot will be to use < half of total savings (₦6m) to demonstrate financial capabilities IMO.[/quote] |
