I applied for a visa with that number that’s why I’m concerned BorisJohnson: Does it (really) matter? I ask because you have asked this question like… 3 times now. Infact, you give the impression that you are more interested in the BRP number, than you are in the new BRP.
If I was you, I would just request for a new BRP. I am 1000000% sure whether or not there is a new number, it will not matter. If it comes with a new number, I’m sure the old number would be permanently retired forever and not useful anymore. If it comes with a new number, I’m sure you will only need to update wherever you had provided the old number. Ps: Physical Card BRPs will soon be discontinued anyways… |

Please requesting for a new BRP replacement because it was lost . Will it come with a new brp number or it’s exactly same thing ? |

What did they ask her please? fascco: I’m only asking if there is any supporting document I need to take along. I did my wife application myself jokingly (the first time I will do application on my own). I only need help maybe I will go with any supporting documents. They did not ask her for any documents when she go for appointment. |

He’s in the uk . There is date for this early . Currently in June Fixed: From experience, it is the border officer at the airport that determines how long you will be allowed to stay in the US. For my last visit, I was given 5 months at the border meanwhile i needed just 3 weeks for vacation. So if you have a document that details the schedule for the training, I suggest you provide a full disclosure based on what is stated there and also provide the document during your interview. But I must add that there will be need to update your application with new dates of the training when the time comes. Right now dates are no longer available at any location for in-person visa interview until like middle of next year 2024. |

Italy has date now in london , 3rd of April . You can quickly take the appointment if you want AlphaUno: Wow! Never knew. Movement was slated for mid May. Will have to cancel hotel bookings then and also go read up on Ryanair’s refund policy if any.
Will definitely plan much more ahead next time. |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 12:52pm On Mar 19, 2023 |
Okay thanks ladylco: the reasons are stated using codes. the so called generic reason are usually based on 214 I guess which is based on the consular not convinced you are guinenely seeking visa for the purpose which you state also, but no limited to home ties, financial ties, economic ties etc.
there is also a code for temporary ban, life ban, inadmissible, terrorist alert etc. once you state the code you have on your refusal notice, they know the refusal reason |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 12:51pm On Mar 19, 2023 |
Okay thank you I think it’s different here , while registering to pay , you have to put in your ds form number first but I can still edit Thank you very much ladylco: No. you have to pay the visa fees first, start the ds 160 form (you dont necessarilyhave to submit the form yet but make sure you save the application and log back into it within 25days hence you will loose it), once you have an application num, you will then create an appointment profile where you will need your payment receipt number and ds 160 reference number to be able to book appointment. Then you can always edit your form till you submit it. once it's submitted, you cannot edit it |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 3:09pm On Mar 18, 2023 |
Okay thanks NothingDoMe: You're stressing over this issue unnecessarily. Write what you remember. Focus more on your current circumstances. |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 12:40pm On Mar 18, 2023 |
Exactly , please what’s the generic reason ? It’s been quite long . Do you have an idea what I can fill ? I’m a student in the uk currently . NothingDoMe: You're quite right. You're not always given a specific reason for the refusal. I've read here where an applicant refused leaving and demanded to know why he/she was refused.
For your question, You can use the generic reason in the paper given to you if you don't have a specific reason for refusal. |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 1:37am On Mar 18, 2023 |
Okay I can’t remember, if I’m to explain what do I fill please ? 1stGenAmerican: There had to be a reason for the rejection given. No such thing as normal, casual reasons. |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 11:31pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
Well there was no reason then as at 2018 . Just normal casual reasons that they tell everyone. It’s not really specified. 1stGenAmerican: Yes. There is always a reason given for a visa denial. They will be able to look at the records in the computer database but they expect you to list the reason beforehand. |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 5:41pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
Do they tell you the reason ? There’s usually no reason now 1stGenAmerican: Use the space to briefly explain the reason you were denied. |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 1:20pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
Please if someone was denied few years back , when filling the ds160 form . What should be the reason to fill , like the brief details ? And it was a family application that was denied though the mother had previous and has current USA visa |
Travel › Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by meljoe: 11:20am On Mar 15, 2023 |
Well so the best thing is the complete the form first . If I choose a date , can I reschedule to an earlier date ? Newbiein2016: Yes - but be sure to use the same DS160 form used to secure your appointment.
I know folks have been able to change the form due to various reasons but it is a bit of a pain and sometimes hasn't been succesful for others hence why you are required to complete and submit the form before proceeding with securing an appointment date. |

Congrats spriteB: Thank you everyone for the support. I got my short stay France- Schengen Visa today!
Submission at VFS - Monday, March 6th. Notification of passport return - Monday, March 13th Passport delivery by UPS - Tuesday, March 14th.
Intended Travel dates: March 18th to 26th. Destination: Paris.
Documents Submitted at VFS:
1. Application form. 2. Nigerian Passport. 3. Return ticket purchased via Wakanow. ( Realized from this thread that I would've just made reservation so money won't go to waste, just in case...) 4. Ticket reservation of tour activities. Booked on Viator, but not paid for. 5. Letter of introduction from my Employer , confirming employment and dates of travel and Employment letter. 6. 6 months bank statement each for my Salary account (Naira) and a Dollar account. This was reduced to 3 months for each account at VFS. 7. Allianze travel insurance; purchased via Wakanow .(Already purchased it before I saw this thread.) 8. Hotel accommodation booked via Hotels. com; but not yet paid for. 9. Copies of Work ID, Pension and Co-operative participation - I used them as a proof of strong tie to Nigeria. 10. Cover letter introducing myself, intended activities in Paris and summarizing the documents submitted. (Many many thanks to the contributors on this thread!) 11. Copy of US Visa.
PS: I got my US Visa just last month but I'm yet to travel with it. I was told at VFS that I'm a 'Frequent Traveler' so it was written on my documents pouch, even though I'm a first time traveler. So if you have any of the Visas listed on the website, just select 'frequent traveler' for your VFS appointment.
Thank you, everyone! |
