This is my second application
My first one was denied because I didn't indicate my previous US visa refusal. I submitted 1st July 2023. I didn't do biometrics again because my first one is still valid. My tracker started showing biometrics completed after a month and 25 days of my submission.

Mine showed the next day , my daughter took own took 8 days to show completed .

If it's showing completed, did it take some days before showing completed or immediately after u did biometrics?

I submitted august 3rd , did biometrics 16th august , one of my daughter did hers 9th august but her own showed completed 17th August.

No it's not, on the tracker eligibility is completed but background verification is still in progress 🤣. From my knowledge on PR application sha, eligibility is completed when they verify all your documents and access them to be genuine, while Bg verification is to check your criminal records in your country and other countries they share information with. I am guessing it's same for TRVs. I think anyone can be done first depending on the VO that picks your file.

Is eligibility same as background check ? Which is done first ?

I think you should contact vfs , since your biometric number is not even showing. Contact vfs

Renew and get a longer duration. When applying for your family, you can submit proof of your own visa. Why plan to renew next year when you have the opportunity to get a longer duration now?

I advise you do this ASAP so your passport can come out within the next 2 weeks.

Please the person that did one of my kids biometrics made a mistake in the spelling of her name but on the application , it’s correct. Please what do I do please ?

There is a space for upload photo now and it's not on the list for optional docs

That’s all , you don’t need passport photograph. When you go for biometrics , they will take a picture of you and your biometrics too

Where precisely please? is not suppose to be under document section? Only passport/travel document, funds, employment, use of rep form and additional documents that is showing .

Check well , it’s there when you are through filling the form

Please I and my kids have done biometrics and it’s showing completed on the portal but my child in the Uk did hers before us here in Nigeria but her own is not completed yet but I can see the biometrics number , date she did it and expiring date. What do I do please ? Or it doesn’t matter ?

Please after biometrics , mine is showing completed under biometrics but others is not showing completed but the biometrics number and expiry date is there. Still showing check your messages for you to do biometrics. What do I do please ?

I and my spouse finally collected our stamped passport last week Friday.

Application submitted: March 16, 2023
Biometric request: March 16, 2023
Biometric done: March 24, 2023
BVL: June 28, 2023
PPR: July 5, 2023
Passport submission to UPS: Wed July 19, 2023
PP received by VFS Lagos: Friday July 21, 2023
PP received by CVAC Abuja OC and to be sent to CVAC Abuja OC: Mon July 24, 2023
PP Collection mail: Thur 10 August , 2023
PP Collected VFS LAGOS: Friday 11 August , 2023

After CVAC Abuja OC: Mon July 24, 2023 there was complete silence, no mail and the VFS tracker kept saying our ‘in transit to IRCC office’ perpetually. I was not bothered at first because I renewed my passport and raised a request to update the passport number on IRCC, I also added the letter to the envolpe which we submitted at VFS with the new passport. I kept checking the IRCC tracker to confirm if my passport number has been updated to the new one because the visa details on the tracker showed my old passport number. Finally Aug 1 the IRCC tracker was updated with my new passport number and by Aug 3, the IRCC tracker was already showing closed yet no update on the VFS tracker as it kept saying in transit to IRCC.
Finally on Aug 10, I contacted VFS via the live chat and was told it was still processing it. Alas same day in the afternoon I got all the mails at once including the ready for collection mail. The next day Aug 11 my spouse picked up our passport: went with marriage certificate and consent letter.

Background: Our application was Visiting a friend in Canada with the intent to give birth. Proposed travel date was 3rd June, however passport request came in few days to when we had our baby

We are processing our baby’s passport and I have to read up on how to go about application for children.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone on this thread. The information here was very helpful and instrumental to our application.

We were given visas up to the expiry date of our passport. My new passport is 10years to expries July 2033. I was given 10years multiple entry visa with the expiry date as Mar 2033 which is when the biometric expires.

All the best to everyone still waiting. Let me go and search this thread for what I need to apply for kids of parents with visas already.

Mum applied in October 2021, two months before I even left Nigeria as a student to Canada, I left Jan 1st 2022 but for her tourist visa, no response for almost 2 years despite reminders.

She started praying with her passport every morning, 7am NSPPD. I reapplied for her by May this year and she continued sending reminders, letting them know that the daughter she's been hoping to visit has even finished school after such a long time.

She finally got a response saying they'll get to her but no specific timeline is set.She sent a message the following week and someone from IRCC MISTAKENLY sent her an email about her case , from the content, we could tell it wasn't meant for her. The person was obviously bringing another colleagues attention to the application.

Finally, her application was on their radar.

Long story short, she got PPR a day before her birthday.
She submitted last week Wednesday at VFS.
She picked up her stamped passport today from VFS .I.e 7 working days processing time.
Her visitor visa expires in 2030 (multiple entry/six months) I.e 7 years..
She didn't pay a DIME for DHL delivery which is supposed to be compulsory, the person in front of her was told to pay the 26,500 (Abuja vfs but, when it got to her, the guy gave to her and said you can go.

What God cannot do does not exist , no jokes...

So I just picked up my passport from VFS. Below is my application timeline for those who are submitting for visit/tourist visa.

Biometrics completed at VFS Lagos - July 17, 2023
Biometrics validity letter - July 29, 2023
PPR - July 29, 2023
Passport submission at DHL in Gbagada - July 29, 2023
Eligibility completed: August 10, 2023
Passport pickup email from VFS Lekki - August 10, 2023

The process, from the day I submitted to the day I picked up my passport took 1 month and 1 day . What God cannot do doesn't exist. I am still in awe of how fast this was because I am not even planning to travel this year, my application says I will be traveling for summer in June 2024.

I do not have any family/relative in Canada. This is my first application.
