This role has been advertised 2twice now. First was in March and now this one.. Is this role still available?

Yea true - i have actually tried using the CLARION EMC simulator but man!! that thing is soo slow.- i gave up . I am now running Netapp SAN and HP LeftHand SAN- connected to my Hypervisors through iscsi. All Looking good so far - I have successfully replicated my company environment in my LAB at home - this makes troubleshooting very easy for me.

Looking towards that for my 2014 certifications think that will be a main focus for companies as cyber crime become more prevalent and companies wake up to the need to protect their networks and infrastructure as a whole.
What are your thoughts on this.....Nigeria wise?

I have little or no idea in terms of that (Nigerian Wise) - However- i think its something nice to have - Also consider CISA if you really want to go that route. For me im soley into virtualization/Storage- Vmware, hyperV, OracleV, etc.

@mikkybrick - Unfortunately - i paid it my self (good jobs in Australia and UK for VCP engineers) anyways how is your Netapp storage going - are you in the studying phase ? or you are working with it at the moment - I have a Lab environment of clustered DataOnTap - (As a VSA on my esxi hypervisor anyways) . Everything going on smoothly - are there more users of Netapp than EMC in Nigeria? just curious as to where to lay my focus.

As a newbie to Nairaland and oldbie to technology .. I think Vmware,HyperV,cloud is the future... - But the problem with technology (IT) Is - you have to always learn learn learn learn and learn - no end game for you ., (Even worst than people studying medicine because the human body doesn't change so frequently (correct me if im wrong). But IT is crazy - After paying over N500k for Vmware certification i was like hmmmm - 500k just for a certification?

(Personal Opinion ) I am not sure you need FO as a requirement - It is very expensive to implement - (Wireless is the future _ what problem do you have with Wireless) .. I have implemented a wireless network for an SME and everything all working fine. FO would be need when connecting buildings , offices, etc.

You might explain your requirements more so we can dig deep..

Well.. i call them work stations ! (Very silent) consumes not much electricity.. I have 4T hard Disk (Planing to buy SSDs though) .
I have my SAN and NAS as VSAs. (That is HP VSA appliance) . - Have a look at that.

What Hardware are you using?

I guess your servers willl be really expensive init? the below are what i put together (it can take 32GB)

Sorry for the late reply ! and yes i can do all you mentioned with my laB. I have a DR site and a production site - i bought a barebone desktop of 32GB RAM - so working with Vmware is smooth and nice. (Check for Shuttle XPC barebones) they are alittle cheap in the UK

I am currently running 4 hosts (18 VMs) on the production site and 2 Hots(7) VM on the DR site. I have 2 vcenter servers,SRM etc!

You could let me know if you need any help.

(Note - i am running all these in a nested environment - (That is ESXI inside Vmware workstation)

I am also thinking in the same direction, but my skills is on Virtualization.(Infrastructure design, vmware, hyper v etc)

What i have got to realize about starting up a business is that : never expect profit in the first 6 months , always have passion for what you are doing or intend doing - having said that,

You would need to do alot of advertising - the first step is to make a very, i mean very professional website for your company . Do you already have a designed mobile app as sample? if not then start designing one. Feed your website with loads of information about your business. Have a facebook page, twitter , even instagram account for your business.

I would advice you to go ahead and start anything - STOP thinking , just start - trust me in this because if you dont start you will keep procrastinating and procrastinating.

All you need do is focus.! -

You need to check the hardware specification of your Laptop if its supported by Vmware esxi before installing. I would recommend installing vmware workstation and them esxi on vmware workstation . it gives you more capability to test all esxi features like HA,DRS,VMotion and the rest. Let me know if you need any help.
