Cloud wont really cut cost in Nigeria if you analyse it very well. Nigeria is just too cheap!

I'm going to write AWS Certified solution Architect Associate and Pro before the end of July. I am also learning python and Linux.

How many companies in Nigeria do you think are using cloud amazon aws? lol im not sure yet. But it is far growing in the UK and the rate of skilled AWS engineers for IT contractors is from 400 pounds/Day average ! But Nigeria , no , we are dealing with recession lol

Hello, You really dont need anyone phyically there just to install a software on a computer. You can connect to the computer remotely and install whatever you need. Check teamviewer online.

For 35 Computers you need about two 24 port Layer 2 switches.

For wireless, you need about 5 Ubiquity Wireless Access point.

You also need your firewall, i will recommend cyberoam. (this will also act as your router).

We installed the webserver on a computer in the school. so you can only access the url(thats something like www.domain.com ) only if you are physically connected to the schools wifi.

But for you, we will install it on your hosting provider enviroment which is accessable anywhere in the world. Do you understand now?

Its an intranet , so it was deployed for them in the school server (With over 1T SSD Storage ) . you can not access the elibrary when you arent in the schools network. However, we can deploy an internet solution for you which can be accessible through the internet .

Yes , this is actually doable. We can create a subdomain for you as forum.domain.com , there would be a tab on www.domain.com that can link to www.forum.domain.com . All these are doable. You would also have a search area where you can search your ebooks in the library.

You can pick the option to either download the ebooks or read them online.

You can also pick the option to asign different student username. in a way that, userA will have access to only Mathematics ebook group or student B will have access to only government, english , and maths books.

In this way, when student A logs in , they will only have view access to these book groups.

I started with Comptia A+ though, gives you all the basis you need before jumping into server configuration. Do you even know enough about desktop configuration and management? hmmmmm

Yea. SCCM has loads.I had to bookmark technet when troubleshooting it. i have a feeling Microsoft is going to ruin Vmware in terms of virtualization shares. Microsoft is already eating them down now. i think system center is the future also. with Operations manager and Virtual machine manager as part of the suite, lots of companies moving to Microsoft a lot and now azure is what everyone is talking about.i dont think Vmware has anything unique apart from thier hypervisor

You are really enjoying this SCCM i can see , are you a contractor or perm? Contracting with SCCM is big money in UK. I remember when Windows 7 deployment was the talk of the day ha! almost about 250 Pounds - 400 Pounds / Day for an SCCM Specialist. Dont know of the rate now. I presume you know MDT 2013 or i think its MDT2015 now. Do you know your scripting?

Technet helped me alot while i was learning SCCM back then. Also, have a look at "spiceworks community", there are some great guys there - and they reply questions within mins.

For me i think no one can chase VMware out, they keep bringing out new stuffs and nice stuffs.

I had a look at microsoft Azure - boy!!! they are expensive if you ask me lol. Are you using this at work?

I'm currently working on vRealize suite, Vmware's equivalent of System Center. It's actually a project for an educational institution here in Nigeria.
It's a private cloud offering but it's intended to be accessible by others from the public(like a public-private cloud ).SRM is also included. It's been challenging and fun so far.

Next I intend exploring more into SDN with VMware NSX and also openstack networking (neutron). I've fallen in love with openstack and its huge potential ever since I deployed it in my lab.

I want to learn more about KVM hypervisor because I think it's really giving esxi a run for its money and its even becoming the standard hypervisor for open source cloud management platforms.

Would have loved to delve into system Center but presently I work in a vSphere environment.

Nice - i can see you are getting your hands really dirty . May i ask what location in nigeria you implementing this? KANO? I saw some online request for technical professionals in that location just wondering.It must be a government project i presume.

You guys are including SRM aswell? hmmmm even more interesting - i dont think KVM is popular from my research in Nigeria . Xenserver is winning in the Open source Hypervisor area and they are really good . But in all i think nigerias are tilting towards HyperV because of the its cost as compared to Vmware according Skywalker .

System center is Nice but the configurations to achieve one thing is like a whole lot lol (This is the only thing that kills me off it).- and loads of log files ha!!

For me, I am heavily working on System center 2012 which allows to to configure and manage private clouds. I am sure some companies in Naija should be implementing this also.

I think nigeria havent really fully adopted this cloud thing - but most companies are using office 365 in nigeria. i have implemented for 2 companies already. easy and it always works .

This year im thinking project Management and mayb deep dive into cisco more and Ubiquiti wireless networking. (And also im doing alot with some open source telephony technology like elastix IP PBX)
