mostob: Bro..i insist..He may not be among the elites creative midfielders yet but saying he is not creative is wrong. This is someone I watch every weekend when he was still at arsenal. But ,judging on his playing pattern, he is more suited to CM though.
chrisooblog: little distracting topic for discussion house. which national team would you say has overachieved and underachieved in international football? for me Holland is the undisputed underachieving champion while for overachievers i go with Germany. Die Mannshaft haven't always had the best of squads and most stand out talents but somehow they always get the job done.
for africa senegal are clearly the biggest underachievers honorable mention to morocco, while disputable i think cameroon fits into the overachiever slot.
what's your opinion guys? cc andrewbaba44, supernerd, goodjoe, chriskels, daniel, komekn, safarigirl and anybody else feel free to comment
Well said....! I think Senegal are the underachievers in Africa surely
benji93: Man take am easy. Know your mate. Brag with some respect. Na so we brag sotey we go draw Southampton. Make we get the champions league spot first then, we fit brag small. . As far as i am concerned i wouldn't say we have arrived. We will have to wait and see.
kellycute: . Very bias set of people. They set up their team base on emotion. Why change a winning team for christ sake. Reece, Abraham, ruediger gat no business whatsoever in the starting eleven. They are mediocre.
TheLoneCitizen: First of all, Iheanacho is in a favourable situation, his contract expires in 2 years time, if he has not been getting game time by then he leaves.
Secondly, Iheanacho is growing into a more complete striker without us noticing. Let's compare him with Vardy by game time.
Better Goal contribution per 90 Vardy's non-penalty G+A per 90 is 0.74, Iheanacho contributes 0.87.
Iheanacho hits 50% of his shots on target , the 5th highest in the league. This comes even though he averages the 9th most shots per 90 in the league.
Creativity wise, Iheanacho is involved in 3.6 goal attempts per 90, compared with Vardy's 1.72. This puts him comfortably in the Top 20 in the league's most creative players. In fact, Iheanacho is one of the few strikers on this list. He also averages the same key passes per 90 as Vardy.
Vardy carries the ball over a progressive distance of 60m while Iheanacho does this over a distance of 90m per match. To illustrate better, against Arsenal Vardy had 19 touches over 90mins while Iheanacho who played 58mins had 21 touches.
This shows that while Vardy is playing as a poacher, iheanacho is becoming a creative forward. He is definitely improving learning at top-level.
Edopesin: In marking the uniqueness of today's date (07/07/2020), the Ligue 1 club Lille is celebrating the Nigeria international because of his shirt number Lille have declared July 7 as International Day for celebrating Victor Osimhen because of his shirt number.
The 21-year-old had an excellent debut campaign in France with the Great Danes, thanks to his goalscoring exploits in all competitions. Osimhen was the highest goalscorer in Christophe Galtier's squad with a return of 18 goals in the 2019-20 season which includes 13 efforts in Ligue 1.
His contributions earned him Lille’s Player of the Year award and the Marc Vivien Foe Prize for 2020 among other accolades.
In celebrating the July 7 date, Lille who finished fourth in the league table this season joined together two pictures of their talisman showing the no. 7 side by side.

Despite having four years left on his contract at Lille, Osimhen’s future at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy is in doubt with a number of European clubs showing interest in his signing.
Napoli are reportedly leading the chase for his services with an offer of €50 million and the Nigeria forward, before making a decision, visited the Serie A club to meet their management last week.
Lille President Gerrard Lopez admitted several offers for the 2015 Caf Young Player of the Year, and he has backed him to make a move to Gennaro Gattuso’s side where he could become a superstar. "For Victor, we had several offers. He asked me and I told him what I think was the ideal club for him,” Lopez told La Voix du Nord.
“Napoli is just below Juventus or Barcelona but is at the same level as Atletico Madrid. If he goes there, he will become their superstar.
“Having a city like Naples at your feet must be exciting for a footballer. Victor has the strength to perform under pressure." Lille celebrate International Victor Osimhen Day

The only 07/07 I can stan
This news is becoming boring... Let him choose Napoli and let us rest biko.. EPL is a NO! NO!
I saw it the first time....Abraham live matters..At lease him still better pass Professor Solanke...sub-dean of the school of carpentry, INNIT Boys University
daveP: No o..... His eye for goal is second to none. Only Vardy has his shot at goal ratio across the whole leagues in England. Boy is good for the future. Euros will be a great platform to unveil his Golden Boot abilities.
Watch as He will tear Bayern Apart and take Chelsea to the next stage.... He's destined for greatness.
ChrisKels: The primary thing while scouting is how you effect play. Does your style win games? Wingers are not rated for their goal scoring abilities but their ability to create chances and change the dynamics of games.
Dude I shouldn't be teaching you these elementary things nah
Blueelf: Why is Osimhen being courted by Napoli et al?
What of dessers?
Are their stats not a bit enticing?
Don't be misguided o. Chucks is not a striker. Don't make it seem he is one.. Besides, the primary drive is assist, key passes and also his influence on and off the ball.... Of late, villarreal had been using him as MR instead of RW.... U don't expect goals from MR
ChrisKels: Never you totally discard people Bkus of their attitude and ideology, everyone has his own importance, as long as your paths have crossed.
Did you know after my service, I struggled so much to get a job that I had to settle for one that was paying me peanuts. I kept the job at least to keep my wallet busy even if my bank account balance wasn't sexy. One day I was viewing a Chelsea match with some guys, we got talking and along the line, we begin parley. These guys were smokers and they could drink, I don't do either, hence, some important people to me were like, Kelechi this ain't you, dafuck you doing with guys like this?
Long story cut short, did you know it was those guys that helped me get my first client when I ventured into land agency, and from that deal I made my first million since I was born? And they have been helping me with clients ever since because some of them are tilers and plumbers, so they know men who are interested in landed properties. Never you neglect no man
This is the whole truth about life. Thanks for sharing!
TheSuperNerd: A big lie. The hype on Chuks began long before he even faced Barca and Madrid. The hype on Chuks began when he was at Villarreal B with the likes of Chriskels, BascoVanVeli and me talking him up. Even Tbaba dropped some positive comments on Chuks.
Most especially after he did this with Villarreal B about two years ago...
The hype on Chucks probably started on that great show against barca and Madrid. Then we started calling for him before the AFCON. But u see that Nachodhino and Nwakalebale, their hype no be here o... The Lord's work must be done! (in aforbear's voice)
Afobear: I have moved away from here ... Some people here despise me like the Despised The son of man when he walked amongst men . They are the Sadducees and Pharisees who want me gone for good
Pls sir, we need ur contributions sir. The Thread won't be of any fun without you.
Afobear: nope , not really .... There is no International match to be played anything soon And it's clear Kelechi Pigmouth Iheanacho isn't better than his grandfather Mbappe
TheSuperNerd: Former NPFL and Home based Eagles star, Afeez Aremu played for 60mins as his side, IK Start got hammered 5-0 by Odds BK in the Norwegian Eliteserien.
In Switzerland, Blessing Eleke played the final 10 mins of his side's Luzern's 2-2 home draw against Servette. His side sit in fifth, 16 points behind leaders FC St.Gallen.
Boss, How you take dey track all these unkown sef? You are doing well....
Ihenzy: Plateau United Dressing Room.
They won league few years ago and are supposed Champions for this NPFL SEASON
But their players still sit on floor
How long will it take us to reach that level?
No wonder they are want to go to Europe
TheGoodJoe: You should get used to it. This is a public forum and this thread has lots of followers. Some might come back a day or two and scan to catch up with what went on in their absence.
So drawbacks in topics happen from time to time.
Boss, u are so correct. I love reading, commenting? Nah! #behind_d_scenemood_activated.
TheSuperNerd: For today, Everton was up against the league leaders. Iwobi had more to do defensively than offensively when you consider the high quality of the opposition today. He made 1 tackle, 2 interceptions, and 2 clearances. We hardly saw him on the offensive today and that explains why he didn't do above average. Also, maybe he would have had a goal if Richarlison had not played selfish.
Let me just show you a graphical example of what Iwobi brings to the Eagles. A key player to our fast phases of play in attack in the final third. It is true he needs competition but he is also doing good in the GWG.
Below is an Iwobi Activity/pass map vs Ukraine
Courtesy of Solace Chukwu's Supersub.
Key:
Arrows
Blue: passes received Green: passes completed Red: unsuccessful passes Black: shot(s) on target Pink: shot(s) off target
Some people haven't taken the time to really understand what Iwobi brings hence they keep underrating the lad and calling him hyped. Even Arsenal fans know better now. Iwobi is really underrated in here.
Wow.. His work rate is so impressive. He is more of a left winger who occasionally bombs into the mid-field and enjoy the luxury of a 10. But those key passes and passing accuracies are really impressive. Very true Alex is grossly underrated and the first to receive the stone when things fall apart. Same way people feel about Ndidi not until recently.
