gidigbam1: Bro, this is the simple Truth. MNK biafra agitation caused this insecurity. I remember clearly arguing with my late in-law and some Catholic Priest over this sometime in 2018. I told them that this agitation will send Igbo land 50 years backward citing what happened in Sierra Leone and Liberia as example. Its only a foolish senseless person that thinks war will solve any problem cos you don't know what will come up after that.
Unfortunately, 5 of the 7 persons we had this argument with who are supporting this criminals and calling them liberators have all been brutally killed in the most despicable way there in the East. One of them who was sponsoring them, went to give them free fuel in his filling station, and they just killed him there for nothing. These criminals are not reasonable, always high, lack logic, and all they care about is murder and despicable criminality. And they are just too many to control. How can they ever be liberators? It is impossible. |

VeeVeeMyLuv: It is surprising that you guys are putting Nigeria and America in the same sentence
AlMost all the murders cases in America are investigated to logical conclusion until victim gets closure, the perpetrators often gets executed on the spot same day, others gets arrested and prosecuted.
Take the recent high profile assassination case in America for example, Luigi Mangione the suspected killer was caught almost immediately.
But in Nigeria many, many, many murder, terrorism, kidnapping case remains unravelled, unresolved to this very day.
Nigeria that human beings will just be terrorising communities in the name of religion to please their God.
Or Is it the soldiers, policeman, politicians brazenly collaborating with kidnappers, terrorists, bandits, killer herdsmen, and so on to perpetrate horrible crimes you want to use to compare?
My friend there is absolutely nothing to compare there! Prosecuting and jailing or execution of the perpetrators of these high number of murders in America do not subtract from the fact of their common incidence there, neither does it bring back to life the souls of that are being killed there daily. This high incidence are not being recorded in other civilised western countries where there are strict gun ownership control. It is therefore high time that the US should enact strict laws to prohibit the proliferation of guns in their society. As per Nigeria, we are still living in a relatively primitive country, where the government has little resources and oversight to curb criminal activities across all its cities and local communities. The government intervention on crime is always reactive and not proactive. The armed forces corrupt tendency is also a major obstacle to effective security operation. However comparing USA and Nigeria statistics on crime is a misapplication, because they are too far apart in technological and economical advancement. |

seguntijan: “Take a look at Real-time 🇺🇸 American gun violence numbers for 2024, as of Dec 16th:
•16,005 deaths •30,446 injuries •487 mass shootings •29 mass murders •754 children (age 0-11) shot •4,214 teenagers (age 12-17) shot •1,166 defensive use incidents •1,357 unintentional shootings •641 murder-suicides” Insecurity happens everywhere in the world except some few countries
Why the Media in the USA aren’t massively reporting deaths arising from gun violence?
On the other side also, we need our government to really double up their efforts. America is the murder capital of the world, followed by all war ravaged countries, which include Nigeria (Boko Haram and IPOB UGM wars). |

And if they read it, what's the value of their cumulative negative opinions about Baba Afe Babalola on the general populace? About next to nothing. With the general hunger in the land, except for us wasting our time and comments on Nairaland, who really give a damn about what is going on between the two duelling personalities? Dele Farotimi's vitriolic tongue needs to be tamed so that he can learn a lesson about public discretion. And that it is his clan's chief starting his needful home training, it is well and good. Whatever money or reputation he will earn from the book sales, majority will be wasted on the various defamation suits hanging on his necks. That's another lesson he will also learn. And as for many of you urging him on in his mad pursuit, rather use the time to raise funds for him instead. He will need the money to settle all the judgement fines that will be placed on him at the end of this judicial imbroglio. |
