What is obvious is that Tinubu as usual has failed on this minimum wage issue. June has ended and there's no end in sight for the issue. It shows that he is more concerned about maintaining his relationship with governors and other elites than giving the common man succor from the self-imposed economic malady. Educate yourself before asking stupid questions. Minimum wage law like other laws is to be implemented and enforced by the executive branch of govt and not labor. Labour is not responsible for enforcing laws. You people turn everything upside down all because you want to support politicians.

But the labour unions could force the state governors hands to implement the minimum wage by invoking strikes and protests in the erring states. Did they do that?

In Nigeria of today, every leader must strategise to rule. There is no hegemonic power structure determining who to rule. All regions are fragmented politically: in SW, APC and PDP are governing, same in the North with different people supporting them. In SE and SS, we have PDP, APC, APGA and LP ruling there. So no way a single party or a single set of people or region will determine who will rule the country. It all depends on forming alliance with different sort of political entities, and it takes a political master to do that.
