Let me explain. If I bought at N2.5, and the price is N4.7 now, I will need to sell (if I'm a short termer). Reason is because I'm comparing a gain of N2.20 with 40kob. So I will have to sell.

You will need to stop selling until the price of the stock gets to N2.5 + 40 kobo= N2.90. Because if you sell, you will gain only 40kobo which is still the same as waiting for the 40kobo dividend.

My point is that people will keep selling until equilibrium is reached and at that point, they have seen that selling for just 40 kobo gain is the same as waiting for 40kobo dividend.

I gat your point but it doesn't literally apply.

Meanwhile, this stock will still trade for N5.00 before markdown.

I kept wondering what people were waiting for. At such high prices, who dividend yield go help? Except those that had the shares since the time of spinoff.

AfriPru and UCap has settled their passengers. Next will be GTBank and Zenith (Though Zenith might pull a stunt).

Remember people bought at N2.5 to N3. So they will keep selling to quickly take profit even if it is N1 gain that they made. This is because they will be comparing withe dividend with their gains.

I will take your advice then. Entry adjusted to N2.75.

These offers on AfriPru is so unshakable. N3.80 won't be bad though.

You buy after the drop and quickly give back to dividend hunters. It doesn't always work though but....

If pple are dumping UCAP and Afriprud like this, what will happen when gtb releases its own with 2.9 kobo dividend.

GTB and Zenith should not attempt to have close of register one week after release of result.

Also his average price for NEM is below 50k but NEM never sold below 50k.
