EducationRe: Education Beyond Certificate by menzo4u(op): 7:53am On Nov 28, 2016
jessetom:
In his concept of education and some other stuff.
Good morning, please can you read and criticise this article I wrote sometime ago? I am working on it and I need to see the "holes" in it for more research works. Thanks.

EDUCATION BEYOND CERTIFICATE::::

It is hightime we gave another definition to the term "education". To some people, education borders on going to school, acquiring degrees and working for a company to earn a salary at the end of the month.

My dear readers, education goes beyond acquiring certificate, "we must redefine education"....

Education teaches you about how to make rules, break rules, and challenge an ongoing trend, school teaches you about how to follow rules, live by the rules, and live an ongoing trend unchallenged, thereby limiting that power of creativity in you.

Have you witnessed a scenerio whereby you asked a Maths lecturer about how he arrived at a certain formula, and he tells you "that is how it is done"?, and mind you, if you do anything contrary...you FAIL his exam, therefore you must follow the rules.

A truly educated man is he who has developed the faculties of his mind to follow his passion, find solutions where there are problems without following the rules, but creates his own ways through his deep imagination to achieve his dreams.

Checkout most of the world's richest people today, they are mostly school dropouts. Do you think they are not educated because they are school dropouts? Far from it! They are really educated in their own ways, they simply decided to build their own dreams rather than allow themselves to be hired by other people to builld theirs.

So many people spend their precious years in school only to end up acquiring cerificate NOT education.

Examples of these people include:

1) * People who don't practise what they learn in school before graduation.

As a student of Computer Science, how many codes have you written that worked? Have you been able to (in reality) write a program that solves the problem of an organisation?

As a student of Business Administration, how many businesses have you started? How many times have you exprienced failiure in business, and rise again?

So, are you putting what you are learning in school into practice?

The school will not give or teach you these orientation but education will.

2)*People who have no SKILLS...successful people don't depend on the government of their country to provide jobs for them. A truly educated person has skills, an uneducated fellow can only boast of his certificate without any skills to back it up.

True education lies in the abilty to solve problems with the skills you possess.....what are you waiting for? STAND UP NOW, do not procrastinate, learn a skill you are passionate about.

What am I advocating?
This writeup is not in anyway articulated to undermine the importance of schooling...Going to school is very important but our mindset about school is what we are advised to change.

TRUE EDUCATION PREPARES YOU TO SURVIVE WITHOUT YOUR CERTIFICATE.

Fynestboi:
Welcome.
Fynest, it's nice having you around again for this year's edition of the prestigious academic quest.
Please I am in for a revenge mission for my school...Yabatech the great. Please do remember this suggestion I made in the previous editio.

It will be better if you can make this debate to be in such a way that only one representative will be paticipating for each school, perhaps with supporters, but their essay will not be needed, they will just be supporting the sole representative whose essay will be submitted.

The benefit of this is that it will ease the judging proceess and also bring about easier understanding of the essay for the readers and even remove boredom from the whole process.

Fynest, I know what I went through in the hands of my partner yesterday in order to get him to come online to avoid what happened to penlayer today, that mental stress alone contributed to my inabilty to perform very well to some extent during the debate.

Please, I know you may be of the thought that, it has been like that for long and it will continue to be. But remember, one thing that is constant in life is change. Please put it into consideration, imagine an erudite debater like Abuklaw (who won the best debater recently) may be out of this competition if his partner too was not around.

CareerLearn, Connect, And Excel by menzo4u(op): 10:52pm On Jun 19, 2016
Learn, Connect, and Excel

Have you ever thought of becoming that great person you've always wanted to become anytime soon? Nothing stops you.

There is no rocket science about it, saying "amen" to one milllion success prayers on Whatsapp will bring no one any success, except one is ready take the needed action at the right time.

If you must succeed in life, you must be ready to LEARN, what you will become in the future is a product of what you learn today. If you must EARN; you must LEARN..what are you doing with your time? Nothing makes Ronaldo the best in football world but learning, nothing makes Dangote the most successful business man in Africa but learning, nothing makes TY Bello one of the most successful photographers in Nigeria but learning.

Are you learning something that can earn you a better future? Skills that can settle your bills at any point in time. Are you learning beyond the four walls of school or you are still waiting for your school certificate? Life is beyond waiting for the government for employment.

Learning is not also enough, you must CONNECT.
You cannot underate the power of connection if you must succeed in life. Connect with people who do something related to your field or carreer. A footballer who connects with many coaches and referees will not just be a great player, he will understand the rules of the game more than any other player.

It's not just about how individually good you are in your chosen field, but how you are able to connect with people who do something similar to your field.

Anywhere you may be, when you see someone who is in your field or those something related to your career, let arrogance not stop you from meeting them, they are your most useful assets filled with opportunities...if you must achieve BIG you must LEARN and CONNECT.

There is no one who doesn't want to excel in life, but we must always be ready to pay for the price of success, and with God, we'll achieve our utmost goals in life...LEARN, CONNECT, and EXCEL.

Strike (Industrial action) has been the only tool used by institutions to influence government's decisions for decades. But, looking at it closely, at this century, don't you think there ought to be a better approach to influecing government's decision other than the "strike" method?

Don't forget that strike actions go a long way in crippling economic activities in a country, and in the long run, those who still suffer the bounce-back negative effects are the masses.

For instance when ASUU goes on strike, whose children suffer the academic setback? We all know where the children of many of our leaders are schooling; either abroad or private universities.

Strike brings about no transport: they have their cars and private jets.
Strike brings about closure of hospitals; they have their personal doctors...

So it is still the masses that suffer it more...

What is your opinion? Are there any better approaches that can be used to influence government's decisions other than strike action?

Lalasticlala...let's hear what the people are saying.
EducationThe Life Of A YOUNG BOSS by menzo4u(op): 9:02pm On May 15, 2016
It's been a while I put pen on paper to inspire my passionate readers, perhaps that is due to some personal engagements. Here comes another career-building article, read on without distraction.

*** The life of a YOUNG BOSS

He does things differently like no one else will do it;
He has a burning desire to succeed and can go any length to achieve his utmost desires irrespective of the sacrifices he must make.
His thinking is just different, he is willing to take calculated risks.

***the young boss***

He is not borthered by the problems occuring in his country, where a lot of people are complaining about "no light", "no fuel", "this government is bad"...he sees huge opportunities in these problems and converts it to his advantage.

The young boss sees the future and prepare for it. Those who do not have the attitude of the Young Boss go to school, get a certificate, and start roaming the street in search of a job. Instead of this, the Young Boss does not only go to school but also creates a job for himself, and employs the "best" students in school.

---The Young Boss has skills
---The Young Boss solves problems
---The Young Boss is financially independent
---The Young Boss does not run helter-sketter when the "Oga" is coming.

Dangote, Seun Osewa, LindaIkeji, Folorunsho Alakija were all "Young Bosses"...but today, they are the "BIG BOSS".

Do you really want to be a Young Boss? If yes, then you must have the charisma and qualities of a Young Boss...

Many thanks
To know yourself, simply answer these simple questions

*Who am I?
*What do I have passion for? (what I can do even without being paid for it)
*How can I achieve success on this path?

The most important question you must ask is this...

What I am doing today (career wise), am I doing it because I was asked to do it, or becuse I want to do it?

Finding answers to these questions, will show you who you are.

There is nothing like "this part of the world", everything all lies in your own perspective or how you view things around you. What you see as a problem in this part of the world, another man sees it as an opportunity and makes huge success from it. Learn to adapt and take ACTION.

Hope this helps.

The ladder of success....

In life, there are those who dream and chase it, there are also those who dream but are waiting to be awaken, if you are among them, I write this to you in order to wake you up to start chasing your dream.

Success is a ladder, and only few will find it, among everyone who finds it, only few will have the courage, persistence and determination to climb it. At the real top of this ladder, is great wealth and riches BUT surrounded by adversity, challenges and problems.

Is there a way you can overcome these challenges and get to the top of the ladder? Absolutely YES...but that "Yes" is not enough, you must...

1) Take a course to study yourself: It's quiet unfortunate that many people decide to study various courses in school without taking time to study themselves, the best course you can study in life is yourself; By knowing yourself, who you are, and your personal abilty, you are on your way to the top of the ladder.

2). Take action: Why walk when you can move? Why look when you can view? Why talk when you can act? Take action towards your career path, don't wait for your school certificate, don't wait for a "helper" in your family, don't wait for another tomorrow, start and act now? By taking action! You are getting to the top of the ladder.

3) Be focused: Ignore the nay sayers, avoid all forms of distraction...if you don't climb the ladder of success with mindful focus and determination, you may not have a softlanding, failure might be inevitable. Failure will never be your portion, Amen is not enough, be focused.

4) Put HIM first: He is the creator of the ladder, he knows more about the ladder, and only Him can lead you to the top of the ladder, that is God. Sometimes it's not about how good or how better you are....certain things happen by grace or by luck but luck only comes to those who are prepared.
See you at the top of the ladder....

Add yours, what do you think could be done to get to the top of the ladder?

Thanks for reading...

PhonesRe: How To Trace The Details Of An Unknown Number Calling You by menzo4u: 7:08pm On Mar 14, 2016
huh
nze4al:
I’m sure that every one of us would have received wrong calls from the unknown number at some point of time in our life. It will be really annoying to handle such calls when we are in the middle of a meeting or something. Sometimes we receive wrong calls from the same number again and again which will just waste our valuable time and moreover it will disturb our mind leading to some kind of mind stress. I hope that everyone want to know something about that unknown caller like his name, location etc.

So in order to get those details of that unknown caller, you need the help of some reverse phone lookup service. This reverse method is exactly opposite to the regular lookup where you try to find the phone number of a person using his/her name.

Free reverse phone lookup service helps us to identify the name and other details of a person like his location through his sim card registered area. This service looks up for a given number in different databases which is located all over the world to find the caller id and other details. There are so many services available online but most of them do not give the real exact details of a number.

So in order to help you by saving some time for your search, I surfed the internet and found some of the websites that help you to get the details of a number. Also that it is not possible for these sites to give the exact perfect details of every callers. It will most probably give you the best details of an unknown number. The following are the list of those websites:

Here are the top 5 Free Reverse Phone Lookup Services with Name

#1. TrueCaller
This website will help you to trace the name and the location of an unknown number. This one is available in both website and as app for android, iOS and windows, blackberry, Tizen, Symbian etc. This website has a collection of more than two billion phone numbers in their database. Moreover, this is one of the most used app in smartphones all over the world. This service is completely free to use and for the first time, it will ask you to sign up for searching a particular unknown number.

#2. Reverse Phone Lookup
This website is a top notch reverse lookup site which gives you the details of an unknown number like the owner’s name, email, address, social accounts, criminal records, assets, court reorders, arrests and warrants etc. This site has a collection of more than 1.5 billion numbers in its database.

#3. Trace Phone Number
This website is an Indian based website which help you to get the details of an unknown number. This site traces Landline, mobile, STD or ISD numbers. For landline or STD, you will also get to know the operator information also. This tool cannot provide real-time details like the exact location of a number. These kind of information is not legally approved by the TRAI for use in the reverse lookup service.

#4. MOBILE TRACKER
This is one another site that offers similar kind of reverse lookup service. This site helps you to find the location of a number in google map. This one gives you details like latitude, longitude, service provider, signalling etc of a phone number. The location which will be given by this site is not the exact current location of the number. But that data is the location of the telecom circle to which a particular phone number belongs.

#5. TrueDialer
This truedialer is another app like truecaller which helps us to avoid the unwanted calls from wrong numbers. You don’t need to pay your telecom services for blocking any particular number with all the identification details feature. This app is available in android and windows phone only. These kind of apps make our smartphones really smart in their functionality.

So the above websites and app will help you to track those unknown numbers that you receive in your mobile. Sometimes you can’t trace some particular number because of its absence in the database of that site. So try another site to lookup for the details. You probably may find it.

Good evening fynestboi, I have once told you about this, but I have to reiterate it now.

Your relentless effort to ensure that this annual debate is successful is appreciable.

Please look into this suggestion, it is very painful seeing a school or a debater getting eliminated because of the absence of a co-debater. Kindly make only one sole representative to represent each school. Although there can be an assistant perhaps to put heads together on their essays, but only one debater should be representing.

Or better still the assistant can post on behalf of the sole debater if it is obvious that he/she can't make it online during the debate....

*The benefit of this is that, the judges will be more effective in passing their judgment as they would have less essays to read. It will also remove boredom from the whole process. Just imagine when you said, each debater should post 800Minimum word count, that means we are going to have to read about 3,200 words (an equivalent of 10pages of Microsoft word document) if we have 4 debaters.

One may even lose guard on understanding the subject of discourse in the debate, especially at the rebuttal stage.

And lastly, the issue of one debater being an hinderance to another debater will be a thing of the past. I am so personal about this because this is the reason team Yabatech got evicted.

I hope these suggested changes will be put to use in the next edition. God bless you Sir, keep up the good work.
CareerThe Power Of 24 Hours by menzo4u(op): 5:27am On Mar 12, 2016
THE POWER of 24 HOURS::::

One day.....1,440 minutes.....86,400 seconds is what we have in 24hours, such is the huge opportunity we are all given by nature. Just like a "thief" in the night another day has set in @ exactly 12:00am.

"24 Hours" as casual as it sounds determines a lot about who we shall finally become in some years ahead. The ace musician (9ice) once sing a song saying: "the world is beautiful, I am a perfect example", this is simply because he planned his life very well and he is enjoying the beauty of the world, he never took his 24 Hours for a joke. Ask a 50year old man who ends up being a truckpusher hustling his way to feed his mouth under a scorching sun on a daily basis, if the world is truly beautiful.

A combination of many 24 Hours spent on productive activities produced Mark Zukerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Femi Otedola and the list goes on. The same combined 24 Hours spent on unproductive activities produced "Mr X" who ends up being a servant under his child's age mate. Such is the reality of the world.

Many are quick to say that most rich people are merely "lucky", but does luck really exist? Yes, it truly does, but only the lucky few are those who make effective use of their 24 Hours in a productive way. Some spend 80% of their 24 hours in Nairabet Shop, some waste it faffing on social media, some use it to undergo training on their career path, what are you using yours for? The result will speak for itself in a very few years to come.

In an interview, Dangote once said, "even at this stage of my life, when others are asleep, I am still awake, I sleep at 2am and wake by 5am". If the arguably richest blackman in the world does not "sleep", who are you to "sleep"? I don't mean you should not sleep, but use a discerning mind to understand my idiomatic experession.

"Everyday is a bank account, and time is our currency. No one is rich, no one is poor, we've got 24 hours each".-anonymous

The difference between failure or success in life lies in how we spend our 24HOURS. What are you doing with your 24 HOURS?

Stay blessed.

CareerCreate The Future: A Motivational Piece By Genius by menzo4u(op): 11:00pm On Mar 04, 2016
CREATE THE FUTURE::::

The future may seem far, but it actually starts now. Abraham Lincoln once said, "the best way to predict the future is to create it".

Are you creating your future? That future that can put you in the book of record and engrave you eternally in the heart of humanity.

Perhaps you do not know, the future goes beyond "tomorrow", it has to do with the ability to "see ahead" what anyone around you cannot see.

Let's take a clue from the emergence and disappearance of Nokia in the phone market, we all were happy back then during the days of "Nokia 3310", which was arguably the most durable and perhaps the king back then. It is quiet unfortunate that the manufacturers of Nokia failed to see the future as they lack the ability to move up with the trend in the world of technology. Just like a crawling baby, Tecno came into the market with another mindset of seeing the future; and they create it.

So my good reader, where is Nokia today? It has just been sold to Microsoft, meaning, Nokia as an organisation has been crushed into extinction because they failed to see the future.

In every activity we engage in, be it in academics, in business or whichever area, we must learn to see the future. We must ask questions like, what is it that is yet to be discovered in this field? What can I do differently than others? If you can answer these questions, you are creating the future.

In the early hours of December, 1903, the Wright Brothers invented the first successful aircraft, and they have their names written in the book of history.
They knew as at then, that one day, something will fly in the sky and take people to their various destinations in comfort, thus they invented the aeroplane and thereby created the future.

Alexander Graham Bell knew that one day, there would be a world where people can talk to eachother from a very far distance, thus he invented that thing we all call "phone" today. He saw the future and he created the future, today his name can never be forgotten.

You do not necessarity need to be an inventor to create your future, just ensure you take up challenges that most people are running away from, make a reasearch in your chosen career and accomplish what no one has ever done, see beyond what others are seeing.

Dangote has created his future, Bill Gates has done it, Mark Zuckerberg has followed suit, Oprah Winfrey has done same. What are you waiting for? Do they have two heads?

My brothers and sisters, appreciate the past, utilise the present, and don't be afraid to CREATE the FUTURE.

In the process of creating the future, we are bound to face challenges, but challenges are not meant to defeat us but to make us stronger.
So, have you started creating your future?

Let me hear you say "my future is bright".

Thanks for reading.

I just sent you PM, kindly confirm receipient.

Closing argument::

Without necessarily trying to dig out points where there is none, I believe with my convincing facts, I have not just been able to convince the audience but my fellow debaters.

Having seen the pending benefits that the masses stand to gain from the removal of fuel subsidy, I say boldly and firmly that it is completely justified. Thanks.

Sir, you can't reply me with a link that has a head line, I will like you to outline succinctly, the practical steps that have been taken and not show me a statement where the president ' PLANS TO' diversify the economy.
But you said no "plans" and I just showed you the "plans".
