LANDING GIST

Let me start by apologizing for going MIA, a lot of running around.

I got to the Abuja airport around 10am (plenty traffic i wan cry) boarding starts by 11:30am. Met the First Lady who scanned some of my documents (Covid test result and passport), moved to the next queue where they asked what was in my bag and opened to check, the man just scanned through and zipped it back, I moved on to the next queue and the lady requested for my enrollment letter, passport, Covid test result and arrivecan (Omo i filled the arrivecan oo, even printed it out sef) but she said mine had issues and i couldn’t board (in my mind, my village people have found me ooo) she even assigned one of the staffs to help me but to no avail, others had already started boarding and i couldn’t cos arrivecan is a must ooo, finally the lady decided to have mercy and clear me to board without it, I checked my bags in (exact 50kg) I had two hand luggages (a small box and laptop bag) that they didn’t scale or check in. I moved on to board and passed the last groups who didn’t ask for anything asides passport and what are you going for and where. I boarded and we took off, we stopped at Addis Abiba and i boarded another flight to Toronto (we didn’t waste time, just keep reading the signs and locate your next boarding gate) we got to Toronto and first things first, I filled my details into one system and it generated a receipt which i used to proceed,i queued for the first immigration officer who asked for arrivecan and i explained ( he said it’s from the vaccine i took cos I’m fully vaccinated) he asked me to fill on paper this time and that was all, after that I proceeded to the main immigration and it took 1 hour 30 before it finally got to my turn and the lady only asked for passport and letter of authorization, ( she asked which of my courses I’m looking forward to studying and i told her) she printed and gave me study permit, then read the 20 hours work a week rules, omo nobody asked me for how much i had oo or even statement of account wey i carry. ( I had already missed my connecting flight to Vancouver) I went to fly Canada check in and they put me on the next flight which was scheduled to leave in 30 minutes.I had to go pick all my luggages and check them in to my next flight at the Toronto airport, the immigration officer didn’t ask me about vaccine or ask me to quarantine or even where i have in mind ooo(I sha got quarantine update from my arrivecan app and I’ve been filling it daily). I boarded my flight to Vancouver and when i landed there was no more documentation, or anything, I just picked my luggages and ran to my sister. Ethiopian airlines served me 6 meals from Nigeria to Toronto and they were all nice food with any drink of your choice ( I would actually recommend them) plus they had nice movies ooo.

Hello, I am hoping by now you have landed safely. It will be very helpful if you could share your landing gist with us. Particularly about quarantine, I believe I read on their website we only need a 14day quarantine somewhere. Please your response will help.

2) I have checked air b n b and it's quite high over $1k for a comfortable place. I have a family friend who has a room for me, but the issue is we would share bathroom, and on IRCC website it says it's not an approved quarantine plan. I don't want to take a risk. I sent you a dm or maybe I don't know how, like a request to email you.

1. It doesn't hurt to have it ready and signed off by your spouse. Just like all the other entry documentation (ArriveCan, birth certs, quarantine plan for the kids etc) I did the same too. link: https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/children/consent-letter

2. From your question it appears you are not fully vaccinated. wifey stayed with family friends. check Airbnb site for the price range. however, have your quarantine plan ready to reference the location and also your travel plans to get there from the airport. dm for mine as a go-bye.

1) If you traveled with a dependent, were you ask for a consent letter from your spouse at POE
2) For those who were quarantined in Toronto, did anyone stay with family? and what is the estimate of booking an air b n b, referrals will be appreciated.

IELTS: I registered for a general test before I had a change of mind to study so I guess I have to apply for academics , I don’t know if I can do a switch before my exam date .

Any form of guidance will be highly appreciated .

I know this is a long wait. if they actually replied you and it's not generic but specific to you, if thy said under review you will get a response soon. Keep hope alive.

Sent several emails and webforms to Nairobi with only one response stating Application under review by officer.

Now that they have started issuing June applicants, what should I do?

In respect to the question I asked, as I didn't get response from anyone here. To help anyone who may have similar issue in the future. It is possible to send ur passport after u receive PPR to any VAC center. I notified nairobi and London and I received this info today.

Please do you mean you only printed pahe 2 of the consent or page 3? so u didn't include the rest right? and the address is what you had in your application or where passport is being returned to?

How I sent my Passport to Abuja.

I did my Biometrics in Lagos but I sent my passport to Abuja,
So I had to pay a transmission fee of NGN 8,920 to this account
CANADA LOGISTIC COLLECTION ACCOUNT (a/c no 0065165839) sterling bank.

I bought a fresh brown envelope and added the following documents, so follow:

- Your International Passport itself (That your passport !!)

- Print only 1 copy of the transmission fee payment receipt and put in your envelope

- 2 copies of your passport data page (I printed it in colored copy)

- Those stapled papers that was given to you after the completion of your Biometrics (put them as it is [original copy] not the photocopy)

- The PPR letter (1 copy)

- 2 copies of the Consent form (I filled and signed the second page only) . Download the consent from here: https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/dominicanrepublic/pdf/Consent-Form-TTS-English.pdf


- A plain sheet of paper where you can write your address and phone number (this is not really needed though, but I added it)
NOTE: I paid for 2 ways Courier at DHL and insured it to and fro

2 courier means: As I am sending my passport to Abuja, I want Abuja to send back my STAMPED passport to the address I stated on the Courier
