Muslims in the South-west region under the auspices of Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) have called on Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos) to establish Shari‘ah Courts in the region.

The Muslims said the creation of the Shari’ah Courts in the six states of the region became necessary in order to cater for the yearnings of Muslims who are in the majority.

MUSWEN made the demand yesterday in a communiqué signed by the duo of Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni and Prof. Wole Abbas at the end of 4th MUSWEN General Assembly held in Ibadan themed: “Muslim Unity and Contemporary Political Challenges in Nigeria”.

Sanni, who doubled as Chairman of the event and Abbas who is the Chairman, 4th General Assembly in the communiqué, maintained that the Shari’ah Courts when established would replace Shari‘ah panels being operated presently by Muslim organisations in the region.

The organisation also insisted that institution of Hijab was sacrosanct in Islam and could not be compromised for Muslim girls and women in any part of the country, frowning at what it termed as a political lopsidedness against Muslims in the South-west and at the federal level.

The communiqué also announced the appointment of Prof. Muslih Yahya, a retired Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies from University of Jos as the new Executive Secretary, following the expiration of the tenure of the pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. Dawud Noibi.

The communiqué read in part:

“That Shari‘ah Courts should be established by governments in the South-western Nigeria in catering for the yearnings of Muslims who are in the majority to replace Shari‘ah Panels being operated presently by Muslim organisations. To ensure proper administration of justice, MUSWEN advocates urgent judicial reform, taking a cue from the principle of Islamic Judicial System.

“That there have been some modest improvements in the state of the nation under the present administration. That the federal government should intensify efforts to diversify the economy of the nation. That Muslims in the country should go about demanding for their rights in accordance with the law.

“That institution of Hijab is sacrosanct in Islam and cannot be compromised for Muslim girls and women in any part of the country. That MUSWEN acknowledges the harmonious activities of the indefatigable President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar CFR, mni and urges all Muslim Organisations in the South-west to cooperate with him in his efforts at piloting the affairs of Nigerian Muslim Ummah.

“That MUSWEN should champion the provision of qualitative education to teeming Muslim youths in order to reduce poverty and other acts of insecurity in the country.

“That the Ummah mourned the exit of its immediate past President, Dr. Sakariyau Babalola, and prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings and repose his soul in eternal bliss, Aamin. The Ummah also appreciates its outgoing pioneer Executive Secretary, Prof. Dawud Noibi (OBE) who delivered a valedictory speech, for piloting the affairs of MUSWEN since inception to its current state.

“That material wealth should not be the criterion of eligibility for political office. That the Ummah frowns at political lopsidedness against the Muslims in the South-west and at the federal level. That Muslims in all political positions regardless of their party affiliation should unite to support matters relating to Islam as well as of national interest.

“That MUSWEN further reiterates its commitment to Hijab struggle not only in the South-west but throughout the country as provided for, under freedom of religion in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That the issue of Hijab controversy at the International School, University of Ibadan should be legitimately pursued and that the Ummah should do so within the ambits of the law.

“That following expiration of the tenure of the pioneer Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Professor Dawud Noibi, the General Assembly ratified the appointment of Professor Muslih Yahya, a retired Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies from University of Jos to become the new Executive Secretary effective from the date of the General Assembly.

“That the death of MUSWEN’s immediate past President, Dr. S. O. Babalola calls for the appointment of a new President and other principal officers. The General Assembly gave the task to the Central Working Committee (CWC) to make recommendations to fill the vacant positions within six months.”

An alleged fraudulent real estate developer and boss of De-Villa, Dr. Kelly Nworgu who is alleged to have defrauded his victims to the tune of N16 billion in land transactions has been rearrested and detained by the Rivers State Police Command, three weeks after he jumped bail.

His reappearance happens to be the grace of his sureties, a pastor and three others who are needed to regain their freedom.

The sureties were detained after they signed Bail Bond for Nworgu, who after securing freedom went into hiding.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, said that boss of De-villa, Kelly Nworgu, submitted himself to Police a few days ago after much pressure from Police and his victims and search for his whereabouts and consistent trail on him for 3 weeks.

According to him, the Police has detained Kelly Nworgu and released his Pastor and three others who stood as sureties for his bail application.

His Pastor had voluntarily signed a bail bound for Dr Kelly Nworgu after his detention on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura.

After diligent interrogation of Kelly on the volumes of debt and defrauding of innocent Rivers residents and without providing any authentic land after receiving full payments, a lead Pastor in his local church could not conduct services for three weeks as Kelly Immediately absconded after being released on bail.

Meanwhile, the Chairman and Spokesman of the victims of De-villa land scam, Chief Michael Ezedike, has hailed the efforts of the Police in re-arresting the wanted Real Estate developer.

Nigerian Singer, Mr Eazi has called out organizers of the headies awards for refusing to give him the car he won as the winner of the ‘Next Rated’ on headies in 2016.

Mr Eazi’s career in the year 2016 was really excellent that he was crowned by the Headies Awards as the Next Rated Artist for 2016. The prestigious honor however has now turned to a scandal with the singer’s new claim.

This is almost unbelievable but since it’s coming from the horse’s mouth, there’s no doubt that truly, the car was not presented to him.

However, it is indeed confusing that after Mr Eazi bagged the Next Rated award in 2016, news and media houses reported 10 months after his win, that he has received his car, there was even a video posted on HipTv’s youtube page to confirm that he received the car.

Now, it’s 4years later and the singer has accused them of not fulfilling their promise stating that they didn’t present him the car ever since then.

He revealed this while replying to a tweet where HIP TV shared a photo of the singer with his girlfriend, Temi Otedola and tagged it couple goals.

Mr Eazi quoted the tweet with caption; Instead make u gimme my car u dey here dey tweet couple goals.

The twitter User who posted the Viral video of BABCOCK Sex tape has Issued an apology. You'll recall that last week a viral video of a female BABCOCK student, Bolu went viral after she had a 'Doggy' sex with a rusticated student of same University. Bolu has however been expelled by the school management after the video went viral.

Laolu who posted the video has now tendered an apology online, stating his regrets in the whole matter but Nigerians are having none of that.

Sierra Leone striker Mohamed Buya Turay told BBC the injury that forced him to sit out of the AFCON qualifier against Benin last Sunday was caused by "JUJU". Buya recently won the Swedish league and also the golden boot.

“I had no toe injury when I played against Lesotho because no one stepped on me or kicked me.".

" But I started feeling pain on my toe when I returned to the hotel where the team were camped the following day. The pain worsened when we arrived at the training ground, it extended to the whole foot and leg, and I then decided to call some of my family members who took me to a woman native doctor.".

“The native doctor told me the cause of the toe injury was because I stepped on a spiritual object in Leone Stars camp, put there for me by a person who wanted me to get elephantiasis thereby destroying my career. She further told me that if I had gone to the hospital for treatment or had used conventional medicine to try and heal the toe that would have ended my career.”

An angry Ugandan husband who caught his wife cheating on him with another man right inside the boutique he rented for her has taken to social media to speak on how he reacted to his wife’s affairs. According to the man who shared the news on his Facebook account, he stripped his wife naked, tied her up and tortured her by beating her.

After that, Martin Juuko explained he threw his wife, Brenda Namuyomba on the street to be mocked at by their neighbors. According to the young man, he opened a men’s wear shop for his wife but unknown to him, his wife was using the placed to sleep with her boyfriends. Martin claims it has been going on for a long time until he caught her and one of the men having sex right inside the shop.

Martin Juuko boldly shared the news and backed it with photos to confirm every word he posted. Martin Juuko posted:
“My dear customers of Praise shop of Juuko Martin at MM Plaza, I’m sorry I decided to close the shop shortly because my woman Brenda Namuyomba had turned it as her prostitution office while she is my wife, My woman has turned into a prostitute. She removes the knickers I bought her for another man.” Juuko wrote on his Facebook.

“She gets everything. I give her money in dollars, I even bought her a car, I fly her abroad frequently, I gave her a bungalow in Munyonyo, but she still cheats on me. What even hurts me most is that she sleeps with my friends as well,” Juuko added.

Meanwhile, many of his Facebook followers have disagreed with his methods of dealing with his cheating wife. They have described it as barbaric and have advised the woman to have him arrested.

Sultry actress, Rosaline Meurer, has said she is not in any relationship with any of her colleagues.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Meurer said, “Well, I would prefer a consideration of privacy on issues surrounding my intimate relationship. But regardless, I would say that I am not in any relationship with any of my colleagues and I’m not romantically attracted to any of my colleagues.”

Meurer said she sometimes decides to keep quiet whenever she is being insulted on social media.

She said, “I sometimes decide to keep mute; otherwise I try to make clarified reactions to dispose such negative narratives. We all know that no matter how best you try to please people, haters would always look for a reason to assert negative comments.”

Tragedy struck again in Makurdi, the Benue State capital when the bodies of a man identified as Greg Indyor, his wife, and their son, of about six years, Terkumawuese were on Friday discovered in their room.

The death of the Indyors is coming just five days after four members of a family of six were burnt to death in a midnight fire which engulfed their house in the state capital.

Sekegh Akaa, an acting Permanent Secretary with Benue State Government had died in the fire which also killed his wife, Linda and two of their children on Monday.

Although, details about the death of the Indyors are still sketchy at the time of filing this report, sources from the area said they might either have been strangulated by unknown persons or inhaled generator fumes.

It was also gathered that their little daughter of about two and a half years old was found alive at the scene of the incident.

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene who confirmed the report however said the cause of death was not yet known until an autopsy was carried out.

She said the remains of the deceased were found at different spots in the room while some fluid like substance was also seen oozing from the man’s nose.

Anene stated further that their remains had been evacuated from their home located at North Bank area of the metropolis and deposited at the morgue.

Apple Inc said on Wednesday it had started building a new campus in Austin, Texas, beside its existing facility where it makes the new MacBook Pro laptops.

Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook is set to give a tour of the Texas factory to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The company has come under fire from Trump because it makes most of its products in China. But Cook and Trump have developed a good relationship. In 2017, Trump said Cook had “promised me three big plants — big, big, big.”

The new $1 billion, 3-million-square-foot campus will initially house 5,000 employees, with the capacity to grow to 15,000, and is expected to open in 2022, Apple said.

Austin is one of the fastest-growing U.S. cities, with a population of about 1 million, and is home to the University of Texas and other tech companies, including Dell Technologies Inc in nearby Round Rock, Texas.

Apple currently employs about 7,000 employees in Austin.
