BusinessRe: Can A Relative Abroad Open A Paypal Account For Me by mesoprogress(m): 4:10pm On Feb 13, 2018
booblacain:
Thanks for this info bro. I am curious, does this mean a person actually lives and operates a PayPal account in the US cannot use it when they come to Nigeria.
They can, even if their account gets limited, they have relevant documents to prove they are U.S. residents. You don't have, that's what makes all the difference .

Once relevant documents are sent to them, they will remove the limitations. So a bonafide US resident can use U.S. PayPal in Nigeria

NB Don't buy vpn from anyone, wether dedicated ip or not. These financial institutions have IP blocks of many vpn companies. It may work but once they add it to their database, your account becomes limited. Best way - be your own vpn provider

Hi everyone. I have a relative n the US, she has a PayPal account of her own and I want her to open one for me as well , I mean one I can operate here in Nigeria so I can be able to receive money for my affiliate sales. I would like to know if this is possible and risks involved. Please help.
Issue is PayPal logs your IP address. Once they notice it's from Nigeria, they will block or put the PayPal account in limited mode.

Even if you use a VPN to access the account, they already have IP block of most vpn providers. So they will know you're hiding behind a proxy server.

One workaround is setting up your own vpn server in vps server in the country of interest . That's if you're technically sauvy. I personally host my vpn.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Needs Electoral College System by mesoprogress(m): 7:21pm On Jan 26, 2018
I have been discussing this electoral college with my political friends. Here in the South, we are currently having between 2-4 childred at most for enlightened families. Most now stop at 3. Many confortable with two. High illiteracy in the north coupled with religion that allows multiple wives, the northerners would soon outnumber the whole of south/middlebelt combined. They would then decide what happens if we continue this way.

And you know what happens when these guys become majority ? Religious cleansing - no freedom of religion- widespread sharia. See Saudi, Iran , etc . You can't even get a licence to operate any other religion. Saudi is considered 100% islam .

I SUPPORT ELECTORAL COLLEGE

This is a good development.

I've seen this occur a lot of times. International calls come in like local calls and you'll be wondering why the phone number looks local. That's fraud and also poses a security risk as well.

Good job, NCC!!!
Ncc is a scam. They increased international calling rate giving way to this kind scam. Skype that was very cheap to call Nigerian number from abroad during the previous tenure is now no longer affordable. All because govt want to raise funds. This is why international call now terminate as local calls . Reason is because operators are hiding real source of call to avoid exorbitant charges by NCC.

South east total = 27 000 sqr km approx 1/3 of Niger State alone.

Deserts can be turned to farmlands. All you need is irrigation from Rivers Niger and Benue . Let them dedicate money for cattle colony to irrigation of core north. Israel and other desert nations has been doing it with great success.

This is a great tip, just as they are desperately looking for oil in the north, they should desperately irrigate the north to lessen embarrassment.

Unless there's something else they are looking for in the south. I don't want to believe in conspiracy theories but again, don't force us to.

The memory card you have in your phone or camera didn’t start off as a tiny device. The first memory device was so big that a cargo plane had to carry it. If the inventors had baulked and complained at the size and inconvenience of the component, we probably wouldn’t have had the development we had today.

Of course the local refineries can be modified and redesigned. Do you realise that, during the Biafran war, it was local refineries that was used? Did you hear/ or read of mass deaths due to local refining? What would have happened if that technology was developed? Or if the local refineries being blown up (another environmental hazard) is made to develop?
There's nothing to modify. I've worked long in niger delta. These illegal refineries are a mess. Graduate students of FUTO can design much better refining towers if you so desperately want traditional refining methods. We can encourage mediocrity when we have technology to do better. Illegal refineries are a mess to the environment, there's no special technology they use that needs to be modified. They boil the damn crude, extract bad fuels and dump residue in the creeks. You guys don't understand

The same white man will give a job to a brilliant hacker who’s hacked into a government protected system and left no trace— he won’t let the talent either go to waste or to be used for crime again.

There’s nothing special that the white man does; absolutely nothing. It’s just trying, no matter how hard, to make decisions via logic over emotions. Why should the army destroy what can be commercialised and turn into a money-making venture which will add tax to the economy, bring in jobs, etc?

Makes no sense.
Have you heard of black soot in Rivers State ? They are spoiling the environment. Nothing to commercialize, you won't understand. Refineries are not generally very profitable even with advanced methods. These guys method are very primitive. Nothing to commercialize

A white man will do what you suggested and even do more— open them to the stock market, bring in investors, ensure they are made more technological and safety compliant, even encourage research students to develop papers and frameworks on these refineries, etc. It was from shanties like these that many of the white man’s inventions started.

A black man will destroy them and boast about it on TV, emotions puffing. And he would have people defending him. Some of them are on Nairaland.

That’s the major difference between the black man and the white man. The white man is largely driven by logic and pragmatism and the black man, largely, emotions.
Which white man? They are just boiling crude the same way local gin is produced. There are better technologies - including catalytic cracking after fractionating. The method they use is wasteful, and extremely dangerous to the environment. Whiteman will jail you 200 years if you try this in the US or Europe

I'm very glad they are destroyed, in fact more grease to their elbows.

Reason : I live in Port Harcourt, and we've been suffering from black soot coming from these illegal refineries as well Eleme Petrochemical, asphalt plants and Notore. People don't understand impact Petroleum on host communities. No amount of compensation is worth the health implications - asthma, respiratory diseases, cancer.

We need clean. If you want to refine oil, get license and do so in an environmentally friendly manner.

We should start looking for cleaner energy sources
