You guys are arguing for nothing. Igbos and Binis may be related. In fact Igbo Edo and Yorubas might be related cousins. But that doesn't make me a Bini or Yoruba man neither does it make Yoruba and Edo man. One thing I want to point out again is this : Binis were relatively small when compared with Igbos or Yoruba in population. However, Bini operated a powerful empire that Influenced Western Igboland , probably up to Onitsha. And well into Yoruba land as well . That Bini conquered western Igbos and made them subjects (Anioma etc) does not make them Bini people. Even if first Obi of Onitsha was from Bini Kingdom, it does not make them Bini people. They just became part of their kingdom. Of course there would be intermarriages and cultural diffusion. So DNA might show dual origin for some Western Igbos. Yet it doesn't make them Binis. The truth is that Igbos were stratified without central kingdom. Bini took that advantage to install leadership in some of their colonies. This did not affect Eastern Igbos and Aros(Present day Imo, Abia, Ebonyi and even Enugu). I dare say market days were borrowed from Igbo to Bini(why I make this assertion is because Aros who were not in anyway influenced by Bini kingdom has these market days, Western Igbos took it to Bini kingdom) . Like everyone knows, Igbos like migration and trading. Aros go all the way to Calabar to trade slaves. King Jaja of Opobo also traded extensively from Igboland to Bonny I dare say that Igbos that migrated westward were the ones influenced by Bini kingdom. |
Westside are experts in local drug peddling, Eastside experts in international peddling |
Decentralize power, each state should have their grid. In fact localities can have their local grids if they so desire.Govt job would only be regulation. I won't spend my state money to build power plants only to be fed on national grid and distributef by quota system. Nobody will be willing to do that. Best they can do is to connect these microgrids to national grid using intelligent circuitry controls. Simply means any excess power my state/community produces are fed back to national grid. |
NgcoboP:You are the man. Selfish people don't know the implications of what they say. Release dams to state which will benefit North, in like manner release oil wells to states that own them. Simple |
ultron12345:What is this one talking about? What is paining you? Doctors are meant to save lives, if you so much like money, read a regular course. Your type are not supposed to be a doctor assuming you are one. |
It's disheartening that we in Africa think that mineral resources are true resources. People are the true resources . How could we have known that there is oil thousands of feet below if not for people? Japan is 3rd largest economy in the world. They have no oil, steel or minerals . Yet they are richer than Saudi tgat pumps 10million barrels of oil a day. Some ediots will come and say they stole their resources in Africa. Nobody stole our resources. We sold them for pennies. They will process and make 1000 times profit from your steel and oil after processing it. One barrel of oil we sell for $50 and fetch them $1000. After refining to produce petrol and others, there's still petrochemical component. The petrochemical component in one barrel alone can fetch more than $1000. These include insecticides, drugs, special chemicals , solvents. And they ship it all back to you ! Think my people. Let's invest in education in Africa and forget mineral resources. |
IamaNigerianGuy:You're right bro. It is called Operation Paperclip. Russia and Britain tried to get jold of these German scientists as well https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip |
Good one . Have we ever noticed something? Oyibo is always coming to Africa to pick the best with high IQ . Finally the country will be left with those with lower IQ because they pick the best. Britain won't mind a foreigner being elected so far he can deliver. What we have here is tribalism, brain drain and ediots leading the country. How can we develop? Anyway, let them take the best, afterall their talent will be wasted in Nigeria. Let me quickly look for who to recommend this to. No offence with low performers, we need everyone. We complement each other, and have different talents, though not equal talents . Some have talent to be rocket scientists, others brain surgeons, artists, entertainers. |
Stop the propaganda, let buhari speak to Nigerians. Enough of this stupid photo opps and relayed messages , it's needless. Nigerians voted him to lead, he needs to address the country at least via video link since he can talk and in "high spirits". |
I spoke yesterday night with a friend and brother living in Kastina. He has already sent his family home ahead of Oct 1. He said economic activity is slowing as well with people trooping out of the region. He however said Igbos have huge investments in Kano and Kaduna. Kaduna declaration may have more devastating impact than envisaged. From facts I got from him, the region is already seriously devastated by poverty with almajiris begging everywhere |
Silly lawsuit. The west are losing it. |
Great men from Iran. Who Iran epp ? It's similar to kannywood ban. Their clubs would be paying them well , besides they have freedom of movement and association in Europe and western nations. No fear of amputation or stoning. Hope Israel gets qualified and also gets matched with Iran during world cup proper ![]() By the way, why so much hatred and bitterness against Israel by Muslims ? |
Buhari made you a hero, if not who would have taken you seriously. |
Poor him, our health care system is not working |
These foools are so pained that things are not going their way. Chinemeze - it's God that makes a king. They can shut down their states as much as they want, it's their state, their business. Seems Boko Haram damage never do them. |
Some of these are Igbo communities that keep distancing themselves from the greater Igbo nation. At the end of the day they become minorities and voiceless. If they agitate to join Anambra state, I'm sure the government will quickly attend to their needs. But no, they would rather call themselves ethnic nationalities. |
pazienza:I prefer when people are not delusional. 1. I 've been played at Onitsha, sold substandard products to me. Boys just arrange and obtain from you. These are Igbo on Igbo crime. Later called the guy on phone and let him know I know what he did. How do you define greed? Our people, will resort to anything to make money and live fake life - drugs, fake stuff. They do all manner of things. See what happened at Ozubulu recently? 2. I'm from Imo, in fact we live close to these Oguta /Egbema people. They are full Igbos but want to join their brothers in Rivers. In fact, they are now saying they are not completely Igbo. It's called oil curse. They are my neighbors and friends. In fact my trusted and loyal worker is from Egbema. We speak Igbo together but refers us as Igbos. What do you think of that? While Yorubas in Kwara and Kofi wants to rejoin their kins, ours in Delta, Rivers, Edo(Igbanke) are dissociating themselves. Biafra cannot work now. It may work later. We do not have love. Just like when I warned ppl about mmm. Biafra is a mirage, at least for now |
IgboSubmarine:I wonder who's ignorant. My friend, there is no structure in place for Biafra at the moment. South South minorities and even fellow oil producing Igbo communities are not interested. Even oil producing Igbo communities (even Egbema and Oguta in Imo State) subtly dissociate themselves from greater Igbo nation. Igbos are greedy, some of our communities that have oil will deny they are Igbo just to "chop" the oyel wealth alone. Even if you bring these oil communities to Biafra, they would constitute a big mess. Nnamdi Kanu has a hidden agenda, don't fully know what it is presently. If we have biafra without structure, it's going to be problem to all of us. We need to come and address our issues. Leave south South and seaport alone. They can't be trusted. We can at least arrange our cities and attract investors. It's doable. |
Something people don't know is that states that have the highest number of companies domiciled in their domain will receive the highest tax in the form of PAYE. This is a huge amount. I know how much I pay for tax yearly. So Lagos being a major revenue state does not come by surprise. Governors in Abia and Anambra are just dumb. If you create a conducive environment for companies to thrive, IGR will increase. Good road networks, industrial parks, increased security, social welfare systems, friendly atmosphere. I see Lagos and Ogun going far. Northerners will lose in the long run with their hostile attitude, same goes with Niger delta. SE governors are just plain dumb. Despite glaring marginalization, they are only interested in looting their people dry. Even if you are looting, why not create enabling environment for development? He whose house is on fire does not chase rats. |
The best solution in Nigeria is to create multiple republics. If not we may keep deceiving ourselves and living in both poverty and corruption |
stGabrielo:Which pride ? |
Gorilla harbours diseases that can affect humans. Why expose yourself by butchering the animal. This is how hiv, Ebola, etc jump species. |
I only pity Arewa youths. |
Naijabet is in trouble! They will lose their license soon ![]() By the way, the presidency is continually making a joke of themselves by keeping Buhari's condition secret. Voting Buhari is Nigeria's greatest gamble. #IStandWithNaijaBet |
WetinConsignMe:So how has Africa developed with their way? We should have been wearing loin clothes like our forefathers. We borrow traditions and will move us forward and discard retrogressive practices |
John McCain. American senator. Fell ill. His spokesman told Americans and the whole world what was wrong. No speculation. No innuendos. No "hale and hearty". No "high spirits". They told us what exactly were his health issues. First, they told us that a blood clot was removed from his left eye. Note that they did not just say 'eye'. His spokesman said 'LEFT eye'. Very specific. They don't even want you to be in doubt about which of his eyes. Next, his office announced his disease - brain cancer. Again, no room for speculation. They recognise that he is a public official and the public that he is serving deserves to know. As the treatment progressed, his spokesman further announced that a brain tumor (glioblastoma) has been removed from the senator at Mayo clinic. Note that they gave the senator's location. It is not shrouded in secrecy. Next, the senator authorised the hospital to announce to the public what further treatments are being considered. The hospital, then, announced that further treatment options May include chemotherapy and radiation. When the American public started wondering when the senator would return to work, his office did not respond with needless jamboree and theatrics. They did not get a photographer to take stage managed pictures. They did not get a computer wizard to engage in photoshoping and some smokescreen editing . They did not ask governors and his fellow senators to engage in stupid photo opps. You know what they did They put Sen McCain out in public for all to see. The man went to the senate and cast a vote!!! That, my people, is how civilised people behave. |
This whole administration is a joke. I thought they would have something to offer when they took over. Alas, they are just like every other Nigeria administration, even several times much worse John McCain. American senator. Fell ill. His spokesman told Americans and the whole world what was wrong. If he really said all these, he should be checked in to the nearest psychiatric hospital |
Lol. Someone is either high on weed or trying to distract Kanu. |
Let it be ASUU Bornu branch. I as a geologist knew that oil in Chad basin has migrated to Chad Republic part of the basin. Even if they get something, it won't be tangible. Our exploration here in Niger Delta was suspended for two years to fund this fruitless endeavour. North should invest heavily in agriculture and processing our agricultural products. They would even make more sustainable money from it. Oil has made everyone lazy. Even common restructuring, they no gree. Pests and parasites |
modsfucker:How does this stop Egypt from repatriating products of quota system? I'm from Imo, hope this answers your question. We are the best |
It is no surprise that some nurses on scholarship from Kano would soon be repatriated to Nigeria for poor performance. I believe in equity - give everyone what they need to succeed. Over the years northern has been given preferential treatment in admissions, employment even when they are outrightly not qualified. This is called mediocrity, bigotry not equity. Equity would have meant building more schools in the north, employing more qualified teachers, from other regions that have the capability to give them the right education. Implementing incentives, scholarships etc to encourage students to enrol. If not for the mediocrity of Northern Nigeria in form of quota system, they would have caught up with Southern Nigeria by now. The most surprising is the unity school admissions. Someone with a score of 2 or 3 from the north is admitted. This is more than mediocrity. This one is utter stupidity. At least there should be a minimum cutoff. The implications of this is that, Northern Nigeria can never compete with their counterparts on a level ground. They would even perform worse on international domain. |
