PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Writes To Trump, Alleges "Hidden Genocide" In Eastern Nigeria by Metrix147(op): 12:58pm On Nov 06, 2025
As his terrorism trial resumes on Friday, November 7, 2025, detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has written a detailed and emotionally charged letter to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, calling for urgent American and international intervention to stop what he described as an ongoing “hidden genocide against Judeo-Christians in Eastern Nigeria.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBHipq4tAyg
The 4-page letter, dated November 6, 2025, and signed by Kanu from the Department of State Services (DSS) Headquarters, Abuja, was delivered through the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria. It was issued by his special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor of ALO Ejimakor Legal Services, and addressed to Trump at The White House, Washington DC, attaching seven documentary annexures to support his claims.

In the letter, Kanu commended Trump for his recent declaration on October 31, 2025, warning that the United States would “act militarily” if Nigeria fails to protect its Christian population. He told the former U.S. President that his words have rekindled hope among millions of persecuted Christians in Nigeria.

He alleged that the Nigerian military and security agencies have been complicit in state-sponsored massacres against Christian communities across the South-East, under the guise of counter-terrorism operations.

“Christians in Nigeria face an existential threat,” Kanu wrote. “This genocide is not confined to the North—it has metastasized into the Igbo heartland, where Judeo-Christians are being systematically exterminated under the guise of counter-terrorism.”

Kanu’s letter referenced several massacres allegedly committed against unarmed civilians, including:

Nkpor Biafra Heroes Day Massacre (May 30, 2016)
National High School Aba Massacre (February 9, 2016)
Operation Python Dance II (September 2017)
Obigbo Massacre (October 2020)
Port Harcourt Trump Solidarity Rally Killings (January 20, 2017)

He cited reports from Amnesty International, UN Special Rapporteur Agnès Callamard, and Intersociety, which documented killings, unlawful detentions, and enforced disappearances.

PoliticsCourt Gives Nnamdi Kanu Till November 7 To Open Defence Or Forfeit His Right by Metrix147(op): 1:21pm On Nov 05, 2025
The Federal High Court in Abuja has given Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), until November 7, 2025, to open his defence or risk forfeiting his right to do so, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAZUM293CtQ
Presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, issued the warning on Wednesday after Kanu, once again, declined to enter his defence in the terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

During the proceedings, Kanu maintained his long-held position that the current charges lack legal validity. He told the court that the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act (TPPA) under which he is being tried had been repealed, and therefore no longer forms a valid legal basis for prosecution.

“I cannot put in a defence under a repealed law. I won’t do that,” Kanu told the court.

Rather than responding to the directive to proceed with his defence, Kanu focused his time addressing the court on why the trial itself cannot stand. He cited the December 2023 Supreme Court ruling, which, according to him, explicitly ordered the Federal Government to amend the existing charge, an order he said has been ignored to date.

“The refusal to amend the charge as ordered by the Supreme Court is fatal to this trial,” he argued.

At one point, Kanu indicated a willingness to proceed with his defence but requested time to consult with four legal consultants: Nnaemeka Ejiofor, Aloy Ejimakor, Maxwell Okpara, and Mandela Umegborogu.

In response, Justice Omotosho urged him once again to seek guidance from legal professionals well-versed in criminal law, stating that the court was prepared to grant him one final opportunity in the interest of justice.

Earlier, prosecuting counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), had asked the court to enforce its directive that Kanu must open his defence or waive his right to do so.

Despite the prosecution's request, Justice Omotosho granted the IPOB leader another chance, emphasising fairness to both the defendant and the nation.

The matter was adjourned to Thursday, November 7, 2025, for either the commencement of defence or a declaration that Kanu has waived his right.

PoliticsSet Me Free, I Won’t Return To Detention — Nnamdi Kanu Tells Court by Metrix147(op): 1:46pm On Nov 04, 2025
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on Tuesday made an emotional plea before the Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding his immediate release while insisting that he would not return to detention, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c2NBbHDz1Q
Kanu, who is representing himself after sacking his legal team, addressed the court directly, stating: “Set me free. I will not go back to detention because there is no valid charge against me.”

The IPOB leader maintained that his continued trial is baseless and violates both domestic law and international treaties. He argued that there is no existing charge known to Nigerian law that warrants his ongoing incarceration or prosecution.

The dramatic courtroom exchange came after the court overruled Kanu’s no-case submission and directed him to either enter his defence or file a final written address. Instead, Kanu submitted a motion and affidavit insisting that the case lacks legal merit.

Prosecuting counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), urged the court to treat Kanu’s filings as his final written address and move to judgment. He accused the defendant of attempting to delay proceedings and manipulate the judicial process.

However, Justice James Omotosho held that Kanu’s documents would be considered during judgment and granted him additional time to either defend himself or properly consult legal experts.

The matter was adjourned to November 5, 2025, with the court warning that if Kanu fails to open his defence, he will be deemed to have waived his right to do so.

Kanu has been in detention since June 2021 following his extraordinary rendition from Kenya. His trial continues to generate widespread national and international attention.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Must Defend Nov 5 Or Lose Right – Court (video) by Metrix147(op): 12:29pm On Nov 04, 2025
The Federal High Court in Abuja has threatened to foreclose the defence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), should he fail to open his defence in his ongoing terrorism trial.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c2NBbHDz1Q
Presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, issued the warning on Tuesday following Kanu’s continued refusal to enter his defence, marking the fourth consecutive hearing where the IPOB leader declined to proceed. This comes after the court had overruled Kanu’s no-case submission and directed him to either file his final written address or commence his defence.

Kanu, who is representing himself after discharging his legal team, told the court he has not filed a final written address, but instead submitted a motion and affidavit challenging the validity of the charges against him.

“I will not enter any defence because there is no valid charge known to law pending against me,” Kanu told the court. He added that he should be released immediately, saying, “I won’t go back to detention.”

However, prosecuting counsel Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) challenged the competence of the fresh documents filed by Kanu, describing them as improperly filed and an attempt to delay proceedings. He urged the court to treat the filings as Kanu’s final written address and proceed to judgment.

In his ruling, Justice Omotosho disagreed with the prosecution, noting that the documents submitted by the defendant would be considered at the appropriate stage. He added that, taking into account that Kanu is not a lawyer, he would be given one last opportunity to consult legal experts and proceed properly.

The judge adjourned the matter to November 5, 2025, warning that should Kanu fail to open his defence on the next date, the court would consider him to have waived that right and may move forward with judgment.

CrimeNnamdi Kanu’s Court Arrival Deliberately Delayed To Prevent Photos, Videos by Metrix147(op):
Fresh concerns have emerged over the conduct of the Department of State Services (DSS) at the Federal High Court in Abuja as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu continues his self-representation in his ongoing trial.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4c2NBbHDz1Q
Favour Michael Kanu, wife of Prince Emmanuel Kanu, alleged on Tuesday that the DSS has adopted a new strategy to delay Nnamdi Kanu’s entry into the courtroom until the arrival of the presiding judge, deliberately preventing journalists, observers, and supporters from seeing or photographing him.

“New style: they’d delay MNK’s entry into the court till the judge is around, so no one gets to snap or record MNK before the court rises,” she said in a statement.

This claim follows repeated concerns raised by Kanu’s family and legal team regarding transparency in court proceedings, access to legal counsel, and alleged human rights violations in custody.

Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been in detention since 2021 after his controversial rendition from Kenya. He now represents himself in court after discharging his legal team and insists that the court lacks jurisdiction to try him on both international and domestic grounds.

ABN TV continues to monitor developments from the courtroom and will provide timely updates as proceedings unfold.

PoliticsGovernor Otti ‘God-Sent Messiah’ To Deliver Abia – Apostle Chibuzor Declares by Metrix147(op): 4:09pm On Oct 30, 2025
Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has described Governor Alex Otti of Abia State as a “Messiah sent by God” to liberate the state from years of stagnation and misgovernance, ABN TV reports.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook handle, Apostle Chibuzor expressed strong support for the Governor’s efforts to attract investors and transform Abia’s economy, insisting that such actions go beyond politics and are divinely inspired.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoRPmL-OLLs

He wrote: “Bringing investors to my state is not politics. It’s the work of GOD, because it will involve the lives of Abians. So close your mouth.”

The cleric, who hails from Abia State, emphasized that his involvement in encouraging investment and development in the state stems from divine calling, not political ambition.

“Screenshot this message. Any day I join politics, I know that GOD has left me. MY CALLING IS MAN OF GOD, NOT POLITICIAN,” he declared.

Apostle Chibuzor, known for his humanitarian initiatives and youth empowerment programs across Nigeria, said his passion for Abia’s progress aligns with his spiritual duty to see the people of the state prosper.

The televangelist’s remarks come amid growing public admiration for Governor Otti’s reform-driven administration, which has focused on infrastructure renewal, economic revitalization, and restoring public trust in governance.

Politics2027 Will Be Tough For Otti If Mascot Runs – Primate Ayodele Declares (Video) by Metrix147(op): 8:11am On Oct 29, 2025
Renowned prophet and spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a prophetic warning that the 2027 governorship election in Abia State will be fiercely contested if Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu declares his intention to run.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoRPmL-OLLs

In his latest prophetic insight, Primate Ayodele suggested that Governor Alex Otti’s chances of re-election could face serious resistance, particularly if Mascot Uzor Kalu joins the race under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“In Abia State, if Mascot Uzor Kalu comes out for the 2027 governorship, then it’s going to be tough for Governor Alex Otti. It’s gonna be very tough,” the cleric stated.

He emphasized that the outcome would not necessarily be determined by incumbency but by strategy, momentum, and the weight of political identity.

“It all depends. If he [Mascot] knows his way, he can defeat Alex Otti. That name is strong, but you may not see it that way, either if you are a sitting governor or not,” Primate Ayodele added.

The prophecy has ignited fresh political conversations across Abia’s political landscape, with many analysts interpreting it as a signal that the 2027 elections may not follow a predictable path.

Primate Ayodele is widely regarded for his political prophecies, many of which have come to pass nationally and internationally. His words are expected to stir deeper political calculation among stakeholders in the state.

CrimeAbia Police Rescue Three Children, Arrest Mother For Selling Own Children by Metrix147(op): 7:47am On Oct 28, 2025
The Abia State Police Command has successfully reunited rescued children with their families and apprehended two suspects over alleged conspiracy and child trafficking.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka and made available to ABN TV, the suspects, identified as Chinasa Ukachukwu (30) and Adaoma Sunday (30), were arrested following a report that led to the rescue of three children.

According to the police, the case began when Mrs. Chinasa Ukachukwu, widow of the late Mr. Ukachukwu Ojimadu, reportedly left home with her four children on October 4, 2024, claiming she was attending a child dedication ceremony in Aba. However, she returned two days later with only one child and could not account for the whereabouts of the remaining three.

Acting on credible intelligence, detectives of the Command arrested her alleged accomplice, Adaoma Sunday, leading to the recovery of the three missing children in different locations — Aba, Lagos, and Anambra. The children have since been reunited with their families, while the suspects have been charged to court.

The Command also confirmed that, following an earlier press release on October 10, 2025, regarding the rescue of eight infants and ten stolen children, two Lagos residents, Mr. Akinrinola Aliya Ayomide and Mr. Oladapo Olanipekun, have successfully identified and reclaimed their children with valid documentation.

CrimeJubilation As Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Brother, Sowore, Others Released (Video) by Metrix147(op): 6:16pm On Oct 27, 2025
There was jubilation in Abuja on Monday evening as Omoyele Sowore, Barr. Aloy Ejimakor (lead counsel to Nnamdi Kanu), Prince Emmanuel Kanu (Kanu’s younger brother), and 12 others were released from Kuje Correctional Centre after meeting their bail conditions., ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH5_5PqKO3I
The release comes amid rising public scrutiny and widespread reactions across social media and civil society circles, with many questioning the The group had earlier been detained in connection with their presence at the Federal High Court, Abuja, during the resumed hearing of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's trial. Their arrest sparked outrage from civil rights advocates, legal observers, and supporters of Kanu, who described the action as a violation of constitutional rights to open trial and legal representation.

ABN TV gathered that after intense legal engagement and swift processing of bail requirements, the 15 individuals were freed from custody, triggering celebrations among their families, supporters, and members of the pro-Biafra community.

Sowore, a prominent activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, was among those at the court to observe proceedings and show solidarity with Kanu, who has been in detention since 2021 and is now representing himself in the terrorism trial.

Barrister Ejimakor had also recently raised concerns over the treatment of his client in DSS custody and has been at the forefront of legal efforts pushing for Kanu’s transfer to a correctional facility.

Politics2027: "Abia Government House Is Vacant, Free" - Apostle Alozie Declares (Video) by Metrix147(op): 2:07pm On Oct 27, 2025
Apostle Chuks Alozie, a respected Christian cleric and spiritual leader, stirred strong emotions and drew thunderous responses on Saturday as he delivered a powerful closing prayer during the declaration ceremony of Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu, who officially announced his bid to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia State under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvXnSzvriXU

Speaking with a mix of spiritual authority and prophetic declarations, Apostle Alozie declared that the Abia Government House is spiritually vacant, stating that divine intervention is underway to reposition leadership in the state.

“Abia Government House is free, it is vacant,” Apostle Alozie said. “I’m not saying it for the sake of saying it, I know it. When God sends an angel to the governor, He finds no one on the throne. But we are taking over the throne.”

The cleric emphasized that while the current government may be in power, they have allegedly “abandoned the throne of governance”, leading to a spiritual vacuum. He declared that Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu is poised to occupy the seat, stating that his intent is pure, his purpose ordained, and his commitment sealed by heaven.

In a politically tense environment where electoral violence has marred elections in the past, Apostle Alozie made a firm pronouncement that no blood will be shed in Abia State in the 2027 elections.

“No life will be sacrificed on the altar of the 2027 election. The campaigns shall be peaceful, the elections free and fair, the votes shall count, and the winner shall emerge,” he declared.

He further prophesied that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will declare Mascot Uzor Kalu as the winner based on the highest number of valid votes.

“We are not being sentimental, we are being objective. And when INEC announces the result, it shall be in favour of Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu,” the Apostle affirmed.

Apostle Alozie’s declarations went beyond prophecy into full-scale spiritual warfare, as he covered the campaign, its supporters, and all 17 Local Government Areas in Abia with prayers of protection, provision, and divine direction.

“Anyone who enters shrines, occult temples, or seeks witchcraft power against this campaign shall not return,” he prayed. “Anyone that plots evil shall be scattered by the angel of confusion.”

He clothed Sir Mascot with what he described as “the garment of preservation, the fire of the Holy Ghost, and angelic escort”, praying that he would be divinely guided in all decisions — from what to eat and drink, to whom to associate with.

CrimeNnamdi Kanu Backs Down On Calling Witnesses, Says No Valid Charges Against Him by Metrix147(op): 11:51am On Oct 27, 2025
The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has withdrawn his earlier plan to call witnesses in his ongoing trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW7u4TdOGrM
Kanu, who had previously informed the court of his intention to open his defence and summon witnesses, including high-profile individuals, changed course after reviewing his case file. He told the court on Friday that he found no valid charges against him and, therefore, saw no reason to proceed with a defence.

Justice James Omotosho directed Kanu to file a written address to state his position and serve the prosecution formally.

The judge advised him to seek guidance from criminal law experts to understand the legal implications of his decision.

The court adjourned the case to November 4, 5, and 6, for the adoption of final written addresses or for Kanu to proceed with his defence, depending on the outcome of his no-case stance.

CrimeNnamdi Kanu Arrives In Court, Reaffirms Faith In Justice Amid Media Displeasure by Metrix147(op): 9:42am On Oct 27, 2025
The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial, ABN TV reports.

Kanu, who has been representing himself in court following the withdrawal of his legal team, was visibly composed as he entered the courtroom. Addressing the media, he affirmed his confidence in divine justice, declaring, “God in Heaven is the God of Justice.”

The IPOB leader, however, frowned at a recent report by a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), which he claimed misrepresented him. While he did not go into detail, Kanu expressed disappointment over what he described as a biased portrayal, insisting that truth and justice would prevail.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW7u4TdOGrM

Monday’s proceedings follow a series of recent dramatic developments in the trial, including Kanu’s decision to personally take over his legal defense and his continued demand to be transferred from the DSS detention facility to a correctional center.

The case continues to generate significant public interest across Nigeria and internationally, with human rights groups, legal observers, and pro-Biafra supporters closely monitoring the outcome.

PoliticsMascot Uzor Kalu Declares Governorship Ambition For Abia 2027 Under APC (Video) by Metrix147(op): 8:57pm On Oct 25, 2025
Former Chief of Staff to the Abia State Governor, Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to build a government that works for all Abians especially the underserved at the grassroots level.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4F7p8fpUtg

In a declaration speech delivered with passion and conviction in Umuahia, Abia State, on Saturday, 25th October 2025, Kalu emphasized the need for a new era of governance anchored on unity, transparency, and grassroots empowerment.

Reflecting on his decision not to contest the outcome of the 2023 gubernatorial election, Kalu said: “Though there were irregularities, I congratulated the winner because the people demanded change. I chose not to go to court, allowing the administration space to govern. But today, Abia deserves more—more progress, more inclusivity, and more truth in governance.”

Kalu, who described himself as a frontline candidate in 2023, noted that while some progress has been made under the current administration, the delivery has not matched the campaign promises made to the people.

Outlining his agenda, the APC chieftain promised to lead a people-focused government rooted in equity, transparency, and economic development. His core pledges include:

Full implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda at the grassroots

Opening state government financial systems to public scrutiny

Ensuring civil servants and pensioners are treated with dignity and paid promptly

Creating job-driven economic programs, especially targeting Abia’s youth

Strengthening local government autonomy by publishing and releasing LG allocations in full

Sustaining and improving existing capital projects while launching human capacity development initiatives

Citing Abia’s staggering unemployment rate of over 62%—nearly double the national average—Kalu declared it was unacceptable for the state to ignore the urgency of economic revitalization.

“Our journey is not politics as usual. It is a call to restore empathy to leadership and give every Abian a reason to believe again,” he said.

Kalu invited party loyalists, progressives across political divides, and non-indigenes alike to join his campaign to reposition Abia under the APC. He stressed that his movement transcends politics and is anchored on faith and resilience, quoting Saint Teresa of Avila: “Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. God never changes. Whoever has God lacks nothing.”

He ended his declaration with a bold rallying cry for action: “Let us build an Abia that works for all of us, not just some of us.”

The campaign slogan unveiled at the end of his address was: “Onye rụọ, orie! Arutu uzu, arutu afọ!!” (Translation: He who works, eats! When the barn is full, so is the stomach!)

With prayers for the success of APC, Abia State, and Nigeria, Kalu’s speech officially signaled the beginning of what political observers say could be a defining contest in the road to Abia 2027.

CrimeNnamdi Kanu Defends Himself In Court, Seeks Case File, Judge Grants Adjournment by Metrix147(op): 10:24am On Oct 24, 2025
The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday, October 24, 2025, appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja to personally defend himself in the ongoing trial instituted by the Federal Government.
https://youtube.com/shorts/t1oyv1jhOXM
ABN TV reports that this is the first time Kanu is standing in court without legal representation since he discharged his team of lawyers earlier this month. However, in a surprising development, the IPOB leader told the court that he had not yet accessed his case file, which he requires to properly prepare his defense.

Responding to his request, the presiding judge granted a short adjournment and fixed the next hearing for Monday, October 27, 2025.

This follows Kanu’s formal decision to represent himself after informing the court that he no longer wished to proceed with his legal team, including several senior advocates.

The case, which has drawn intense national and international attention, continues to be closely monitored by observers, human rights groups, and media organizations, including ABN TV.

Kanu, who has been in custody since 2021 following his controversial rendition from Kenya, faces terrorism-related charges brought by the Federal Government. His legal team had previously filed a no-case submission, arguing that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case.

PoliticsKanu Files Fresh Motion, Says His Trial Is Void Due To 4 Jurisdictional Defects by Metrix147(op): 9:28pm On Oct 23, 2025
The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a new oral brief before the Federal High Court, Abuja, asking the court to terminate the terrorism proceedings against him because the case is “void ab initio” due to four fundamental legal defects.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cDxTLyYSe8
In the filing titled “Brief of Oral Argument on Vitiating Defects” in suit FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, Kanu, who is representing himself, argued that the defects strike at the jurisdiction of the court and therefore render the entire trial incompetent.

Kanu contended that the Federal Government remains in contempt of a subsisting judgment of the Court of Appeal, which had discharged and acquitted him in 2022. He maintained that by the doctrine of appellate finality, the lower court lost jurisdiction the moment the appellate judgment was delivered, and that no fresh trial could proceed until the Supreme Court set the decision aside.

“A contemnor cannot seek relief from a court while in continuing disobedience,” Kanu argued, citing Governor of Lagos State v. Ojukwu (1986) 1 NWLR (Pt. 18) 621.

The IPOB leader further claimed that the court has failed to take judicial notice of the repeal of the statute under which he is being tried. Referring to Section 122(1) of the Evidence Act 2011, he said a court must, suo motu, acknowledge any change or repeal in legislation.

“Proceedings conducted in ignorance of a statutory repeal are void ab initio,” Kanu argued, citing NNPC v. Fawehinmi (1998) 7 NWLR (Pt. 559) 598 (CA).

Kanu also alleged a breach of his right to a fair hearing under Section 36(6) of the 1999 Constitution and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

He told the court that after nearly five years in detention, he was granted only three hours of monitored consultation with his lawyers inside the courtroom on the eve of opening his defence in a capital case.

“That is not fair, hearing it is judicial perversity,” Kanu said, citing several Supreme Court authorities to support his claim.

The defendant further alleged that the court’s earlier ruling declaring him fit to stand trial was based on a forged medical report. According to him, the report was dated 23 September 2025, even though the court’s order for medical evaluation was issued on 26 September 2025, suggesting that no genuine examination ever took place.

“Reliance on that fraudulent document vitiates the ruling. Fraus omnia corrumpit fraud destroys everything,” he submitted.

Summarizing his argument, Kanu said the four issues, contempt of appellate authority, failure to take judicial notice, denial of fair hearing, and reliance on forgery strip the court of jurisdiction as laid out in the landmark case Madukolu v. Nkemdilim (1962) 2 SCNLR 341.

CrimeUka Denies UK Drug, Fraud Allegations, Describes Report As False And Malicious by Metrix147(op): 5:40am On Oct 22, 2025
Former Deputy Mayor of Ohafia Local Government Area, Hon. Mkpa Oju Uka, has dismissed as false and malicious the social media report alleging that he was involved in drug trafficking, mortgage fraud, and is currently in prison custody in London.

In a statement made available to ABN TV, Hon. Uka said his attention was drawn to a publication by Ndi Abia on Facebook, which he described as “a deliberate attempt to destroy my reputation and mislead the public.”

“Ordinarily, I would have ignored such baseless fabrications, but for the sake of truth, public record, and to protect my integrity, it has become necessary to set the facts straight,” he said.

Hon. Uka explained that he moved to the United Kingdom in April 1999 from Lomé, Togo, where he had been residing and working. Upon settling in England, he worked with a used clothing company, overseeing sorting and grading of goods for export to West Africa. He later worked as a customer service adviser in a retail company while trading in used clothing and shoes on a part-time basis.

Through years of hard work, savings, and financial support from family and friends, Uka said he was able to raise a mortgage deposit to buy his first property in 2005. With further support from Nigeria, he and his wife later purchased a second property, partly financed by remortgaging the first one.

He revealed that his encounter with the National Crime Agency (NCA) began in 2017, when he received correspondence notifying him that his properties were subject to a court freezing order. According to him, he voluntarily honoured the NCA’s invitation, attended interviews, and presented detailed documentation proving the legitimate sources of his income.

Uka stated that it was later discovered that the mortgage brokers who handled his applications were under investigation, leading to a wider probe of all clients they had served, including himself.

He said that in 2019, the NCA applied for a summary judgment, which the court granted purely on mortgage documentation issues, not on any drug or criminal allegation. “Importantly, the court dismissed all claims linking me or my family to drug trafficking or criminal activity, citing lack of evidence,” he added.

Dissatisfied with the judgment, Hon. Uka said he filed an appeal in July 2018, and during the process, the NCA’s legal representatives proposed an out-of-court settlement. “After negotiations, a mutual settlement agreement was reached in September 2019, and a consent order was signed by both parties. The appeal was withdrawn, and the matter was amicably resolved,” he explained.

“At no point was I arrested, detained, charged, or imprisoned,” he emphasized, describing the allegations as “false, mischievous, and politically motivated.”

Hon. Uka stated that he has since moved on with his career and currently works as a qualified and registered Mental Health Nurse with a leading private mental health hospital in London. He noted that he has never been involved in any form of drug dealing, fraud, or criminal activity.

He called on the general public to disregard the publication in its entirety. He urged those behind the falsehood to retract it immediately and tender a public apology, warning that he would take legal action if the defamation persisted.

Tension erupted in Abuja on Monday morning, October 20, 2025, as security operatives reportedly opened fire to disperse protesters demanding the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qokjb4WTXGk

Eyewitnesses said the protesters, led by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, and Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger brother of the IPOB leader, had gathered peacefully in front of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, chanting solidarity songs and carrying placards with the inscription “Free Nnamdi Kanu Now.”

However, the peaceful demonstration quickly turned chaotic when security operatives stormed the area and allegedly began shooting sporadically into the air to disperse the crowd.

According to reports, the situation caused panic among passersby and guests within the vicinity of the hotel, as people scampered for safety amid the gunfire.

As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether anyone sustained injuries or lost their life during the incident.

The protest, tagged #FreeNnamdiKanu, was part of ongoing nationwide demonstrations calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention despite several court rulings ordering his freedom.

EducationCubana Chief Priest Pays School Fees For 50 Clifford University Students (Video) by Metrix147(op): 3:17am On Oct 20, 2025
Nigeria’s renowned nightlife entrepreneur and philanthropist, Cubana Chief Priest, has announced a major educational support initiative, pledging to pay the school fees of 50 students across all departments of Clifford University, Owerrinta, Abia State, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdPBZh8aMb4
He made the declaration on Sunday during the university’s 6th Convocation Ceremony, where he accompanied his close friend and Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke (Davido), who delivered the commencement speech and commissioned a new female hostel named after his late mother, Dr. Veronica Adeleke.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/n6QJShhLSFU?feature=share
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, said his gesture was inspired by the Adeleke family’s consistent commitment to supporting educational institutions across Nigeria, beyond their privately-owned university.

“My relationship with Davido is a pure definition that there is nothing like tribalism,” he said. “The Adeleke family is not just supporting their own university but other institutions as well. That is true generosity and leadership.”

He went on to declare: “I will pay the school fees for 50 students from every department at Clifford University. Education changes lives, and every young person deserves a chance to fulfill their dreams.”

The announcement drew loud applause from the convocation audience, which included university officials, dignitaries, parents, and students. Many described the pledge as an unexpected but deeply touching act of goodwill that will go a long way in relieving the financial burden of many families.

Cubana Chief Priest’s visit alongside Davido added colour, excitement, and humanity to what was already a memorable convocation. His words emphasized the need for unity, compassion, and investment in the next generation, values that both he and Davido have continued to champion through philanthropy.

The convocation ceremony also featured Davido’s inspiring address to graduating students, where he encouraged them to live purpose-driven lives and to use their talents for the greater good. The event climaxed with the commissioning of the Dr. Veronica Adeleke Female Hostel, a tribute to Davido’s late mother and her legacy in education.

Clifford University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chimezie Omeonu, commended both Davido and Cubana Chief Priest for their humility and generosity, describing their presence as “a powerful demonstration of how influence can be used for good.”

Cubana Chief Priest’s pledge has since sparked widespread commendation across social media and educational circles, with many praising his action as a shining example of how successful Nigerians can bridge divides and make a lasting social impact.

As Clifford University celebrates its new graduates, the message from both Davido and Cubana Chief Priest rings clear: that greatness is not just about wealth or fame, but about giving others the chance to rise.

PoliticsGroup Petitions IGP, DSS To Investigate Otti Over Alleged Threats Of Violence by Metrix147(op): 10:56am On Oct 18, 2025
A sociopolitical organization under the banner of the Abia Renaissance Group (ARG) has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the National Security Adviser (NSA), and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), calling for an immediate investigation into what it described as “threats of violence” allegedly issued by the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0aiUct_ek8
In a statement signed by Surv. Kelechi Uwakwe (Chairman) and Comrade Emma Nwangwu (Secretary), the group expressed deep concern over what it termed the governor’s “reckless and inciting utterances,” which they claim have emboldened some of his supporters to intimidate perceived political opponents and ordinary citizens.

The group cited a recent media interaction in which Governor Otti reportedly warned that anyone nursing political ambitions in Abia should “first write his will,” describing the remark as a direct incitement to violence and an abuse of his office as the state’s Chief Security Officer.

“It is worrisome that a sitting governor, whose duty is to protect lives and property, is the one issuing veiled death threats against Abians exercising their democratic rights,” the group alleged.

“This statement confirms long-standing fears that the governor has been tacitly encouraging his supporters to attack or intimidate citizens who hold opposing political views.”

The Abia Renaissance Group further alleged that some of Otti’s supporters have openly threatened to prevent opposition figures from campaigning freely, particularly in Aba, warning that such individuals risk being “stoned or macheted” if they attempt to mobilize politically.

According to the group, these developments have heightened fear and tension across the state, eroding the culture of peace and tolerance for which Abia was once known. They also linked the governor’s “inflammatory tone” to alleged violent scenes witnessed during the last local government elections.

Consequently, ARG urged the NSA, IGP, and DSS to:

Invite Governor Alex Otti for questioning over statements capable of inciting violence;

Investigate cases of intimidation and threats reportedly made by his supporters; and

Guarantee the safety and political freedom of all citizens irrespective of party affiliation.

The group stressed that democracy can only thrive where citizens are free to express their political choices without fear, insisting that no one, “no matter how highly placed”, should be above the law.

“We call on all security agencies to rise to the occasion and ensure that no one, including Governor Otti, undermines the peace and security of Abia State. Abia belongs to all, not to a single man or party,” the statement concluded.

Politics2027: Prepare Your Will If You Plan To Write Election Results In Abia — Gov Otti by Metrix147(op): 2:04pm On Oct 17, 2025
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has issued a stern warning to politicians allegedly plotting to manipulate the outcome of the 2027 governorship election, cautioning that such plans will meet divine and democratic resistance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0aiUct_ek8
Speaking during the October edition of Governor Alex Otti Speaks To Abians held at the Government House, Umuahia, and streamed live on ABN TV’s YouTube Channel and Facebook page, the governor declared that only the will of God and the people will determine who governs Abia State in 2027.

“I have heard that some people around him say, ‘Oh, they must take over this state, they must write results,’ but the only advice I have for them is that if they truly want to write results, they should write something else before that time. You know what it is? Their will,” Otti stated.

ABN TV reports that Governor Otti was responding to a question regarding comments credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who reportedly boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take over Abia State in 2027.

Otti maintained that while every citizen reserves the constitutional right to contest, any attempt to subvert the people’s mandate through rigging or result manipulation would be met with consequences.

The governor’s remarks come amid early political manoeuvrings and realignments ahead of the 2027 governorship race.

PoliticsCourt Declares DSS Clinic Adequate For Nnamdi Kanu’s Treatment by Metrix147(op): 10:37am On Oct 16, 2025
The Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that the Department of State Services (DSS) medical facility is adequate for the treatment of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y89OOyQw2Vo

The ruling came during Thursday’s sitting, where the court also directed Kanu to open his defence on October 23, 2025, and close it on or before October 30, 2025.

Confirming the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter), one of Kanu’s lawyers, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, stated:

“MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s case has just been adjourned to 23rd October 2025 for commencement of his defence. The Judge further held that the DSS medical facility is adequate for his medical care and that MNK has until 30th October to close his defense.”

Speaking with journalists shortly after the court session, Barr. Ejimakor expressed surprise over the court’s decision, describing it as an “ambush” against the defence team. He explained that the team was only served with the medical report from the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) during the court proceedings, despite the fact that the report was due since September 26.

“We were taken by surprise today. We were served, as a matter of ambush, with a medical report which the NMA was ordered to submit since September 26. The report is dated October, but we only got it today in open court. So, the defence had no ample opportunity to react to it,” Ejimakor said.

He noted that although the court had previously ordered the NMA to examine Kanu, such an examination was never carried out. Instead, the report relied on what he termed an “informal meeting” with Kanu weeks before the order was officially made.

“The order for medical examination was entered on September 26 and restated on October 8, but the NMA never examined him. The report seems to be based on an informal interaction with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as far back as September 18. We felt disadvantaged, but the proceedings had to continue as the court desired,” he explained.

Ejimakor questioned the authenticity of the medical report, describing it as “assumptive and medically baseless.”

“You’re talking about someone’s life for goodness’ sake. You cannot just sit in your office and start writing a medical report without conducting proper tests. The report says he has multiple health challenges but still concludes he can stand trial — how does that make sense?” he queried.

The lawyer also expressed concern over what he described as a larger pattern of injustice, arguing that the case goes beyond Kanu to reflect the “marginalization” of the Igbo people.

“As a matter of truth, the Igbos are on trial. This is a war against the Igbos. We’ve seen the federal government negotiating with bandits and terrorists, but when it comes to someone exercising his constitutional rights, the treatment is different. What exactly is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu being tried for? Does the court even have jurisdiction over this matter?” Ejimakor asked.

He further alleged that the prosecution deliberately delayed the medical report to weaken the defence’s preparation.

“The court gave them two weeks to produce the report, but they kept it until today before serving us in open court. How do we adequately consult our client under such circumstances?” he added.

Despite the defence’s concerns, the court maintained its ruling, setting October 23 for the commencement of Kanu’s defence and October 30 as the deadline for closing it.

PoliticsI Was Mocked When I Joined APC In 2016, Now We Have Governors, Lawmakers – Kalu by Metrix147(op): 10:15am On Oct 14, 2025
Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South-East Development Commission, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has reflected on his political journey within the All Progressives Congress (APC), recalling how he was ridiculed in 2016 for joining the then-opposition party in the South-East, which had no single governor or lawmaker from the region.

Speaking on TVC News’ Journalists’ Hangout anchored by Babajide Otitoju on Monday, Senator Kalu said he was the only political leader from the South-East who joined the APC at the time but remained consistent despite criticism and mockery.

“When I joined the APC in 2016, I was the only South-East leader in the party. People mocked me, called me names, and thought I was mad to have joined a party that had no governor or lawmaker from our region,” Kalu said.

“But I stood my ground and kept assuring the party leadership that it would be well. In 2019, I became the first senator elected on the APC platform from the South-East, and today, the story has changed — we now have APC governors, senators, and House members across the zone.”

PoliticsA Politician Without Grassroots Soldiers Is A General Without An Army by Metrix147(op): 1:29am On Oct 12, 2025
By Ifeanyi Okali

In Nigerian politics, one of the most costly mistakes any politician can make is surrounding themselves with aides and associates who lack grassroots influence, individuals who cannot even secure victory in their own polling units during elections. This unfortunate trend has become increasingly common, often weakening the political base of many officeholders and aspirants alike.

Politics is not sustained by noise; it thrives on structure, strategy, and results. Unfortunately, many politicians today are encircled by individuals whose only relevance exists on social media. They are loud online, yet lack any real electoral weight within their local communities. These individuals may dominate digital spaces with flattery and propaganda, but when it comes to mobilizing votes or delivering at the grassroots, they contribute nothing tangible.

A wise politician must understand that the true measure of political strength lies in the people who can command trust and loyalty at the local level. Every election is won or lost at the polling units, not on Facebook, X (Twitter), or Instagram. Real political capital is built among the people — market women, youth groups, traditional leaders, and voters in the neighborhoods who determine electoral outcomes.

Surrounding yourself with aides who cannot win their own polling units is like building a house on sand — it may stand for a while, but it will surely crumble when tested. True political soldiers are those who can deliver results where it matters most, not those who merely seek validation through online applause.

Therefore, politicians must begin to re-evaluate their inner circles. It is no longer enough to have followers who can trend your name online; you need people who can defend your record, mobilize genuine support, and translate influence into votes.

The future of effective political leadership in Nigeria depends on this — a shift from social media noise to grassroots engagement, from empty visibility to measurable impact.

To be continued......

PoliticsOtti Govt Accused Of Borrowing Without Accountability, Running On Propaganda by Metrix147(op): 10:32am On Oct 11, 2025
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has accused the Abia State Government of massive borrowing without visible results, describing it as “a government run on propaganda rather than performance.”

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu cited the $263.8 million African Development Bank (AfDB) syndicated loan approved for Abia, along with a $125 million disbursement from the Islamic Development Bank, saying there is no trace of impactful projects tied to these funds.

“No landmark or iconic project has emerged despite these loans. If truly utilized, Abia would not still be grappling with bad roads and deteriorating infrastructure,” the statement said.

Kalu’s office further accused the government of spending more time curating media narratives than addressing real issues, branding the administration’s communication style as “photo ops and documentaries celebrating imaginary progress.”

“Abia’s reality contradicts the glossy propaganda being pushed online. Schools are in decay, hospitals lack basic amenities, and the economy is stagnant,” it stated.

The statement concluded by urging Governor Otti to “focus on results, not critics,” insisting that with the available financial inflows, Abia has no justification for stagnation.

CrimeAbia Police Burst Child-Trafficking Syndicate, Rescue 18 Stolen Children by Metrix147(op): 8:32pm On Oct 10, 2025
The Abia State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against child trafficking, rescuing 18 stolen infants and children and arresting 10 suspects linked to a notorious child-stealing syndicate operating within Aba and its surrounding areas, ABN TV reports.

In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen C. Chinaka, the Command revealed that the successful operations followed a complaint lodged on September 27, 2025, by a young woman from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The victim reported that a man who promised to marry her lured her to Aba and disappeared with her two children under the pretext of buying food.

Following credible intelligence, police operatives stormed a residence on October 8, 2025, suspected to be one of the syndicate’s hideouts. During the raid, five suspects were arrested — Mrs. Best Ndubusi (41), Charles Enyinnaya (25), Eunice Ezekiel (35), Nnena Kalu (60), and Gideon Esther (25) — while one infant and seven children were rescued.

The following day, October 9, another coordinated operation along the Aba–Owerri Road led to the arrest of Obiegbunam Von (65), Ezeoma Rejoice (21), Ngozi Owoh (20), and Favour Ernest (22). In that raid, seven infants and three children were recovered from the suspects’ custody.

Further investigation and surveillance efforts paid off on October 10, when operatives arrested Brittney Oyemuwa Zion (22) of Amuoji Uku, Obingwa LGA, and rescued another child.

According to the police, the rescued children are currently in protective custody, while investigations continue at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Umuahia.

Crime21-year-old Disabled Girl With Autism Impregnated By Unknown Man In PH (video) by Metrix147(op): 4:09pm On Oct 10, 2025
A heartbreaking story has emerged from Oyigbo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where a 21-year-old physically challenged young woman, identified as Adanma, has reportedly been impregnated by an unknown man.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lv8E3tz_gMA
ABN TV reports that Adanma, who suffers from autism spectrum disorder, is crippled, unable to walk, and can barely speak.
According to her mother, the young woman’s condition made it impossible for her to defend herself or communicate what happened.

The distraught mother told reporters that she did not know when her daughter became pregnant, explaining that she only noticed physical changes before confirming the pregnancy. Sadly, she lamented that she cannot afford to register her daughter for antenatal care due to financial hardship.

“This girl can’t even move on her own, can’t talk clearly, and someone still had the heart to do this to her. I don’t even know when it happened,” the heartbroken mother cried.

Residents of the community have condemned the act, describing it as barbaric and inhumane, while calling on security agencies to launch a full investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Meanwhile, the unidentified man alleged to have committed the crime is said to be walking freely within the community, while the helpless young woman battles both trauma and pregnancy-related pain.

This disturbing incident has sparked public outrage, with many Nigerians taking to social media to demand #JusticeForAdanma and calling on the government to strengthen laws protecting vulnerable persons from sexual abuse and exploitation.

PoliticsAbia Lawmaker Disowns Speaker’s Statement, Backs Deputy Speaker Kalu by Metrix147(op): 1:08am On Oct 09, 2025
Confusion has emerged in the Abia State House of Assembly as the member representing Bende South State Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Chinedu Ndubuisi, has dissociated himself from a recent statement credited to the Speaker and members of the Labour Party caucus attacking the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9uRjc1e48c
In a personally signed statement made available to journalists, Hon. Ndubuisi described the position taken by the Speaker and his caucus as misleading, politically motivated, and unrepresentative of his views or those of his constituents.

“It is important to make it categorically clear that I, Hon. Emmanuel Chinedu Ndubuisi, representing the good people of Bende South, am not a party to that statement. Neither was I consulted nor did I give my consent to be included in such a politically driven narrative,” he declared.

The lawmaker expressed full support for Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, maintaining that Kalu’s recent comments on governance in Abia were constructive and patriotic, not offensive as portrayed by the Labour Party lawmakers.

“His comments were neither offensive nor out of place. He only urged the Abia government to do more in fulfilling its promises to the people. Calling for improved governance is not an attack; it is an act of democratic responsibility,” Ndubuisi stated.

He warned against what he called “emerging intolerance to criticism” within the state, stressing that attempts to silence dissenting voices or intimidate opposition figures threaten the foundation of democracy.

“Opposition is not enmity; it is a necessary pillar of democracy. Any attempt to suppress critical voices or stifle alternative opinions in Abia State is a direct assault on democracy and accountability,” he warned.

Hon. Ndubuisi urged the government to embrace constructive dialogue and transparency rather than viewing criticism as hostility, adding that good governance flourishes where diverse opinions are respected.

Reaffirming his loyalty to his constituents, the Bende South lawmaker vowed to continue to “speak truth to power and defend the interest of the people without fear or favor.”

“I stand firmly with the Deputy Speaker’s position and urge that criticism be viewed as an opportunity to serve better, not as an act of opposition,” he concluded.

PoliticsCourt Adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial To October 16 Over Missing NMA Medical Report by Metrix147(op): 3:31pm On Oct 08, 2025
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, adjourned the terrorism trial of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to October 16, 2025, following the failure of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) to present its medical report on Kanu’s health condition, ABN TV reports.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjfFTemnzfw
The court had earlier directed the NMA President to constitute a medical board to examine the IPOB leader and submit a detailed report on his current health status. The report was expected to guide the court on whether Kanu is medically fit to continue his trial under the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) or should be transferred to a hospital for treatment, as requested by his legal team.

Justice Omotosho had also instructed the NMA panel to determine whether the DSS medical facility was capable of managing Kanu’s health needs or if he should be moved to the National Hospital, Abuja, for specialized care.

However, during Wednesday’s proceedings, DSS counsel, Mr. Suraj S’aad (SAN), informed the court that the NMA medical board had communicated that its report was not yet ready for submission.

Citing this development, the prosecution requested a one-week adjournment to allow the NMA team to complete its findings and file the report as ordered.

With no objection from Kanu’s defence team, Justice Omotosho granted the request and subsequently fixed October 16, 2025, for the continuation of the trial and submission of the medical report.

Earlier, the court had refused to grant Kanu bail on health grounds, noting that the decision would depend on the outcome of the NMA report.

The court emphasized that the essence of the medical board’s report is to provide professional advice on whether Kanu’s health condition warrants his transfer to a different medical facility or his continued stay in DSS custody.

PoliticsAbia Assembly Moves To Abuja For Peace March, Demands Nnamdi Kanu’s Freedom by Metrix147(op): 10:58pm On Oct 07, 2025
The Abia State House of Assembly has resolved to embark on a peaceful march to Abuja to press for the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, ABN TV reports.

The decision followed a motion of urgent public importance moved during plenary on Tuesday by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Austin Mmeregini, who represents Umuahia East Constituency.

Mmeregini, while presenting the motion, expressed deep concern over Kanu’s worsening health and urged the Assembly to support Governor Alex Otti’s ongoing advocacy for his release. He also called on National Assembly members from the South-East and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to intensify efforts toward securing the IPOB leader’s freedom on medical grounds.

In his submission, the member representing Ikwuano Constituency, Hon. Isiehi Boniface, suggested that the Abia Assembly should visit the National Assembly to meet with the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, and later hold a press briefing on the matter.

Also contributing, the member representing Ohafia South, Hon. Kalu Nwoke, lamented that Kanu’s continued detention had contributed to heightened insecurity in parts of Ohafia, despite the Otti-led administration’s ongoing peace efforts.

Reacting to the motion, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, decried what he described as the Federal Government’s disregard for court orders granting Kanu bail.

“Nigeria seems to be operating two systems of justice. Having been granted bail by a competent court, the government should obey that order,” he said.
