with the current market condition , this strategy works best on btc. Stick to it until the dust settles, with long term mindset , you’ll eat big. you’re not smarter than institutions dumping alts to get cheap btc o. This is for you and anyone reading this trying to play smartness on alts at the moment.
Wishing you the best sir.
Thanks. I'm only buying btc and eth for now.

Please how low will it go? I don't want to miss out on the bullrun
No one knows. I remember waiting to catch the bottom last bull run and then when it started going back up I was too scared to come in so i missed out so i've been waiting for this opportunity to do it right this time. Now I'm just dollar cost averaging. So you can buy some now. If it goes down buy more. If it goes down again buy more. Eg. If you have 100k in total to buy. You can buy 20k or 10k worth now. And so on. I am a kinda like a beginner so I'm reading more on DCA and set it to buy a certain amount every sunday regardless of price that's another way to do it. All the best.

I applied since November 22, 2022. No decision yet. No medical requests yet. Is it just me?
Did u do upfront medical? I did, My medical was updated to pass after almost 3 months of submission then the next day, I got approved.

I’ve seen screenshot of people getting medical request(those that didn’t even do upfront) after PPR sef.

You can’t predict this people just calm down. E no easy I know…

Although I had to send a webform after waiting 10 weeks. For a response and I got a response a week later. Don’t know if the webform helped, Maybe u should do that too

Most of you only believe in your pastor that’s why people who live here don’t come to share their experiences. I am way better in Nigeria than here I have lived here for 3 years and just waiting for few things and moved back home or move to the US and come here once a while. You won’t understand. Yeah everyone situation isn’t the same , you can say nigeria is not safe but people get killed here too, students get shot to death, people die everyday. If you have something serious going for you in Nigeria or you think earning 3000 dollars a month after tax here is better and after expenses you are left with just about 400 dollars, then make your choice. I work as a service technician in a tech company earning 24 cad per hour . I studied here, working full time now, monthly earnings supposed to be 3840 cad , after tax and some deductions like Ei , employment insurance incase of job loss, CPP , and other deductions, I am left with a little above 3100 cad. After expenses only about 400 dollars left . Car insurance here a month goes from between 150 to 300 dollars or even more. Rent $2400 add other bills.

I own houses back home with tenants before I came here , here if I fail to go to work a day I and my family will be kicked out of the apartment. The struggle we go through here isn’t worth it for us. We are not struggling before coming here. It all depends on your situation before leaving Nigeria. I have a thriving business in Nigeria, I thought I would be able to make a lot more money which was why I and my family made the move but was disappointed and sharing this with you is for you to either learn before making your own decisions but most Nigerians will never learn. We haven’t recovered a dime we spent coming here due to huge bills and was already thinking of moving to the US once we get what we are waiting for. It cost is roughly 55 million moving my family here and that was a great mistake we made and only hoping for the best now.
“Most of you people believe in ur pastors” well, that’s not me to start with.

I’m not looking to become a millionaire in Canada like you, that’s not my motivating factor. I’m just looking to be in a system where I don’t have to worry about, No light and bad roads. I just want to live my life everyday in a system that works

If I can afford to pay my rent, other bills, eat, I’m more than okay. If I even see 400CAD after expenses. I am more than okay.

You see, our motivation is different. When people have too high expectations about abroad that’s when they begin to have regrets and complains.
motivation should never be money. Then u may be disappointed.

May God help you in ur quest to US or wherever in search of greener pastures. I just know you won’t be coming back here…. All the best

What 00e1 said about shoplifting or shop theft is absolutely correct I went the other day to buy baby formula/milk that cost 71.97 dollars in one superstore in Brandon Manitoba canada..I could not find it on shelve I asked a lady that works in the shop..why is the formula not available...she said some people are getting away with the formula without paying..that I should go to the customer service..I went to the customers service and saw the formula where they kept it so that they can keep an eye on it... grin grin
But this happens in US, Uk, or any other country that allows self check out. Not peculiar to canada. It will also happen more in naija if self checkout is implemented.

The truth is that no matter how grim a picture he paints. If u ask him to return to naija he will not come back.

Most people looking to relocate abroad have had enough with absolutely nothing working in naija and there’s no kind picture u want to paint that will make them change their mind. So why try?

He’s talking about people not being able to afford mortgage in canada. How many people fit buy house for naija?

I’ll rather hold on to the possiblility of a better life in Canada than remain in the hopelessness of naija. Everyone’s grace is different.!!!! Say he no work for A no mean say he no go work for B

Leave people to pursue their dreams!!!!!!! What’s the worst that can happen?

I once applied for a student visa but i was denied. I did biometric in which my passport was carrying my maiden name then. I want to update my passport to my new surname, please will it affect me as I intend applying for the visa again
It shouldn’t. As I’m sure you’re going to submit all necessary documentation to show U’re married and ur change of name document in ur new application.

Also visit the Canada study visa thread instead of this. You’ll get faster responses there to help with ur study visa application.

Stating this 2 that you can remember is enough. Nobody is going to say u misrepresented because you didn’t mention all 3 times. It’s only a problem if you don’t state that you have Been denied visa at all.

My people gist don land.. this is the compulsory documents if you ever consider moving to Canada through study route.

https://www.legit.ng/people/1572171-full-list-5-important-documents-nigerians-canada-study-visa-2024/
You’re still fighting yourself? It’s time for u to move on. This ur obsession with this topic is giving “me..n…t…a…l problem”.

I submitted my transcript and certificate to my school to get admission. I didn’t need to submit it to the VO to get my visa approved and I got it. If anyone has to do it. By all means do it. As a lot of people have mentioned. There are instances u may need to submit it for visa application and there are instances that it isn’t compulsory. Stop shoving ur “compulsory documents” down our throat. I’m tired of coming here and seeing u whine about transcript and certificate. Move the F…..k on!!!!!!!!

I believe everyone seeking for visa approval needs to focus on 2 major things
1. POF- Prove that u have sufficient funds to cover ur tuition and living expenses. Include all proper documentation to prove ur source of funds(read through the thread to see all documentation u will need) avoid lump sums without proper documentation/explanation
2. Home/Economic tie- Try and prove to the VO that u have sufficient ties in nigeria to bring u back home after study.(eg. Your family, your job, your business etc)

There are Other areas to focus on like your SOP. Write a clear, self explanatory SOP. Highlight your points clearly. Let it be easy for anyone to read and understand.

No document is compulsory in Visa application except the normal ones listed on IRCC website that is compulsory..( That’s why everyone that has come here to drop PPR has a different list of document. Each unique depending on what they feel is important. Add everything if it makes u feel comfortable

All the best

PLEASE HELP
1. Do I need to go to the bank (gtbank) for reference letter to add to my bank statement?
2. When getting the bank statement for POF do I indicate that It should be sent to the canadaian embassy or I should just download it to my email and then Upload on the ircc website. Im Really confused.
1. Yes u have to go to the bank for reference letter
2. You can either request for MyBankStatement. That one is sent to the embassy. But they’ll provide you with a slip. That slip has a passcode. You’ll upload that slip in ur application. With that code, the visa officer will be able to view ur bank statement(only the period you ask the bank to send to them not ur entire bank statement) . (b) You can also download the pdf copy of ur bank statement if u want and upload that instead. A lot of people go for the first option if they don’t have space to upload multiple pages of bank statement to their application. I did both just to be on the safe side. If space is not an issue. You can do option B. Or both. If space is an issue. Option A is fine. If u choose to upload multiple pages of ur statement, ensure that if u have to compress it due to space, the content is still very visible to the visa officer. All the best and whichever option u choose is fine

Good day house,

I applied since Oct 13th no response from IRCC. I had to defer my admission to May. Even though May is currently full for my program, the school suggested to put me on a waitlist to see those that will drop/defer for May so they can find a space for me

Do I need to inform IRCC this on the web form I intend to raise? If I don’t. When they are treating my application say after my resumption date which was supposed to be 8th January. Is this grounds for denial or is it possible for them to approve my application even after my start date has passed or too close to my start date?

Please advice.

2. The school also gave me an option to get a confirmed September admission or the waitlist and I chose the waitlist option. Do u think I should opt for the September instead? If I choose the September. Will this study permit(if approved) serve me for September? Or I’ll have to do a fresh application.

Finally, Nairaland is back.

PPR dn drop, finally guys!
It dropped 30 minutes after my deferral request was approved. 😂

Timeline:
Submitted application on October 18
Upfront medicals and biometrics had earlier been captured in my 1st application (This is my second application)
No update or progress whatsoever on my dashboard until Dec 18, when I received PPR. Till now, eligibility is still in progress as with background check. Lol

After I had done my findings, I came to the realization that there were number of things missing in my first application, and it had failed in a number of places so I decided to bring reinforcements on the second application.

First application was self-sponsored, and the refusal was due to insufficient funds even though 70% sch fees was paid, 10k GIC, and 5m for other small stuff.

I applied for gcsm note but didn't get any so I reapplied.

For the second application, here are the documents I submitted:
1. Passport Data Page
2. Affidavit of Return
3. Certificate of State of Origin
4. Police Character Certificate
5. Certificate of Birth
6. E-medical information Sheet (Upfront medicals)
7. Statement of Purpose
8. Academic/Professional resume
9. Letter of Introduction
10. Professional certifications
11. Property ownership (land and a car)
12. Full tuition confirmation receipt
13. 10k GIC certificate
14. Mybank statement
15. Pension Reg Certificate
16. Pension Statement
17. Contract Agreements
18. Employment Letters
18. Payslips
19. Tax Clearance certificate
20. Acceptance Letter
21. Nysc Certificate
22. Degree Cert
23. Statement of results
24. Students transcript
25. Waec cert and testimonial

I wanna thank y'all for your contributions on this platform, all of you! Y'all have such a great community. Didn't have to ask many questions because the questions were already asked and the answers provided accordingly, all I needed to do was to read through each page.
Congratulations!!!! Still waiting for mine. Submitted October 13th. This is wait no be here…. Did u raise any webforms? Wondering if I should.

The name on the GIC must be thesame as name initiating the transfer. So you might have to send the money to ur brother to do the transaction himself

Hi Gurus in the house,

My resumption date is Jan 8, 2024, and I haven't even gotten any update from IRCC regarding my application. Heck, it still hasn't even started eligibility check despite biometrics and upfront medicals done (none of which have been updated so far). I submitted it on 18 of October and this is my 2nd application.

Gotta get you guys advice/suggestions here. I am thinking of deferring to May 2024 if I don't get any response from IRCC by the end of the week. My question is should my school provide a new admission letter with a resumption date of May 2024, can I upload it as a webform to my existing application, would it be considered by the VOs?

What would be the best course of action in my scenario? Abeg time no de again
Same boat. Applied 13th October. I have written to my school for a deferral to May. since the last day for deferral for my school is 13th December.

I have a sponsor who can foot all the expense for my schooling and personal expenses too. Do I need to have up to 10k$ CAD in my account before applying.
You just need to prove the relationship btw you and ur sponsor. He submits job/business documents to show how he came about the money. Then he transfers part/all the living expenses to you to show commitment on his part.

They don’t approve proof of funds on its own. You will submit ur application, do ur biometrics before they begin to review ur application in general. Your proof of funds is included in ur application.

Black market rate is always higher than official rate. So using black market rate to calculate POF is actually a plus and not “shooting yourself in the foot”

No I didn't, cos it was clearly written.
That’s a generic response for when they have an issue with ur POF. It doesn’t necessarily have to be because the amount isn’t enough. It could be a lump sum that they think Is for demonstrative purpose, could be u didn’t show how u got the funds. Etc a lot of reasons. Best advice Is to get ur GCMS note to know the exact reason not just adding money to ur POF
