The issue here is not about translations of names. Isa is Arabic recognized by Islam , not Christ or Jesus Christ. You dare not mention Jesus Christ in any mosque in Sokoto or any northern part of Nigeria mosque even though Isa is mentioned in Quran. You will get killed instantly if you dare it. You dare not mention Jesus Christ even in Muslim gathering in the north, not to talk of inscribing "Mary the mother of Jesus Christ" on the roof top of any mosque in the north and watch what happens.

There are significant Muslim population in the south than you have Christians in the north. Eg. Kachia, Sanga, Kauru, Chikkun, Kajuru.
