Most of them are light skinned because they are not black but coloureds, which are mixed group( consisting of Khoisan(black),European(white) and Asian).
Black panther, very sorry I have to disagree with you. The Khoi and San people were always light in complexion. They are the indigenous people of South Africa. There may be people of mixed blood among them but they were always very short in terms of height and light in complexion because the climate. Thousands of years ago South Africa was a very cold place. Even as I grew up here in the 60s and 70s South Africa had a temperate climate. It has changed a great deal since then. The dark complexion among us, including the West Africans came from East Africa. Our ancestors were very dark and tall when they came here but their complexion changed and became lighter thanks to the climate and intermarriage between our forefathers with the Khoi and San women. The Zulu King is light in complexion but there's no white blood in his family. That, however, does not necessarily that you won't find people with European blood among the Zulus or other Africans. I just want you to know that most South Africans who are light in complexion, have African hair and speak indigenous African languages are like that because their forefathers took the Khoi and San women as wives. Even the clicks in the Nguni family of languages ( Zulu, Xhosa, Swazii and Ndebele) were the result of intermarriage with the Khoi and San. The Khoi and San people's is a click language and was incorporated into the Nguni languages per intermarriage. Finally, please be aware, that the Pharaos were pitch black and we the Africans, were building pyramids in Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia with mathematical and astrological precision thousands of Years before anyone in this world could be called European or Asian. There was no one in Asia, Europe and Anericas until our ancestors arrived there.

see mumu..south africa? same people wey dey kill their brother(xenophobic)...the day internationa record label go sign them like dbanj then i will accept they are really taking over.

There are millions of African immigrants here. You can also come and join them. The more the merrier. If you come here and focus on your legitimate business, you'll be ok. Also, for your own sake, you should know that this is a highly organized society. For instance, if you're driving, you should stick to your lane and stop when the traffic light turns red. Failure to follow the rules or abide by the law can cause very serious problems, even death for you the law-breaker and innocent users of the road. No one will kill you for finding yourself a virgin. I've lived in Nigeria and other countries in Africa and Europe. I can tell you from my own personal experience that men everywhere are jealous when they discover that a girl they were still thinking of wooing is already going out with a foreigner. There's no one going around hunting for Nigerians to kill. We have more important things to do than that. Apart from that we would end up in jail.
How I wish the overwhelming majority of African immigrants who're enjoying themselves here could take some time from their tight schedules to tell you how sweet it is to be here.
Stop believing everything you read in newspapers or see on TV. Develop a questioning mind for the sake of your country and this continent. There's a lot of lies and manipulation in the media. The main reason for this was to set the stage for SA - Nigeria relations when Buhari takes over. It is in the interests of certain people and nations that there should be tension and conflict between SA and Nigeria as that will most certainly divide and weaken Africa, thereby making it easier for them to continue to exploit our wealth and dictate how we should rule ourselves. Another reason is that drug dealers, brothel owners and other criminals would like to enlist the whole continent as their defender against communities, incl law-abiding Nigerians, who are sick and tired of them and would like them to be arrested, jailed and or deported.
You were told that Nigerians were killed in SA. Not even one was killed. The people who died were an Ethiopian, Bangladeshi, Mozambican and Zimbabwean, seven in all. May their souls rest in peace. Their killers were arrested together with more than 300 other perpetrators of anti foreigner violence.
You were also told that the Zulu King caused the violence against foreigners. It's a very big lie. He spoke in idiomatic language and the translation was very bad, maybe deliberately so. What he said was not different from what people who are fed up with foreign criminals and police inaction usually say. Further to that he said those things three weeks before the attacks on certain foreigners. Between me and you, there are 12 million Zulus here. If their King had given an order for them to kill foreigners, thousands of foreigners would have died, not four foreigners and not three weeks later. Not even the police would have managed to stop them. The ICC and the South African Human Rights Commission have been investigating. I doubt they'll find anything different from what I'm telling you.
The person who caused the attacks is an Indian supermarket owner. He hired foreigners while a strike by locals was in progress. It is alleged by local authorities and the police that stone-throwing between the foreigners and locals led to the involvement of taxi drivers when their vehicles were hit by stones and other missiles. Once that happened, the violence spread like wild fire. Even then, the majority of people didn't get involved and the violence happened in a very small part of Durban and a very small part of Johannesburg. Millions of South African citizens and foreigners, government and public organizations condemned these attacks and even took action to ensure that it will never happen again. We even have anti-xenophobia billboards and committees working on various measures to address the underlying causes of attacks on foreigners.
Now that doesn't mean I can give you a guarantee that everyone will be safe from now onwards. I, myself, am not 100% safe. We live in a violent society, where local and foreign criminals break into homes, rob banks, rape, sell drugs, own brothels, etc.
I don't know what it will take to stop people in certain parts of our country from taking the law into their hands when the police fail to deal with local or foreign criminals. I can't also guarantee that fights among Nigerian criminals or between SA and Nigerian or other foreign criminals will not result in fatalities and that the fatalities will not be dubbed xenophobic.

Why always South Africa Girls?

Are there still virgins in that country?

Yes, there's plenty. For instance, the Zulus still do virginity testing. They also have lots of light-skinned ones, if that's important to you. In fact, it appears to me that most of them are light-skinned. So you can attend the annual Umhlanga ceremony and choose the one you like, if you care to mary a virgin - light-skinned or not.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Xenophobia: Nigeria Union Reports New Attacks In South Africa by Miaraka: 8:50am On Jun 18, 2015
It's very unfortunate that all we're being told is that some innocent Nigerians are being assaulted or killed. We are not told how the chaos started, who was involved and why but conclusions have already been made.
Even your diplomats appear to be participating in this irresponsible reporting. Both the diplomats and the Union of Nigerians rely on a telephone call. They can't even tell us, if the police and foreign ministry of this country have been informed and what response they've been favoured with.
An embassy which knows what it's doing would immediately approach the authorities in its country of accreditation and even send an official or officials to verify the information they've received from their citizens so that they can send a factual report to their President. These people are pathetic. Are they even diplomats? They appear to operate at the same level as ordinary SA masses who think every Nigerian is bad news. They are emotional and make promises they can't keep. There's no way an embassy or consulate can effectively investigate a case and protect its citizens without the cooperation and assistance of the local authorities anywhere in this world. Are they engaged in a popularity contest, hoping the new President will not replace them if they make irresponsible and statements? As for you Nigerians, you should know that there are two kinds of Nigerians here in SA - the really bad guys who misrepresent you and appear to be in the majority and the really good ones. The good ones are definitely there and are safe as they go about doing their business but the reputation of Nigerians is mostly bad and can cause a lot of problems for the good guys, mainly due to what is done by criminals from Nigeria.
One example you may be able to appreciate is that I go to a Nigerian church which is quite close to a building that is occupied by Nigerian drug dealers and other criminals. They are known by the public (good Nigerians included) which suspects they work with the police. They've been seen by some of us selling drugs close to our church perimeter wall and gate. Of course they are chased away every time we see them. What do you think that does to the image of our church which is attended by foreign immigrants, mainly Nigerians and a few South Africans? I can tell you what the public thinks about us - we're all Nigerians, we're rich and our cars are bought with drug and brothel money. Can you blame the public?
Also please be aware that here, ordinary and very poor South Africans are fed up with what they believe is police inaction against criminals, have a tendency to take the law into their own hands and they'll brutally kill anyone they're convinced is a criminal. There's no immunity for Nigerian or SA criminals. It's unlikely that they'll stop taking the law into their own hands simply because the AU, Zuma or Buhari said don't do it. Also, fellow Africans, when you throw mud and sleaze at our country and leadership with your "holier than thou" attitude, remember that we "know what you did last summer" (1980s) to thousands of Africans, especially from Ghana. You even have a "Ghana must go bag." So please sober up and develop a questioning mind and stop swallowing everything you're told by people, institutions and governments who do not have Africa's interests at heart and are doing everything to whip up tension between Buhari and Zuma so that the continent should fail in its efforts to extricate itself from the quagmire of poverty and underdevelopment. They know better than you what a united Nigeria and South Africa can do for their own citizens and this continent, if they combine their strengths and efforts.
The fact that your own diplomats appear to be participating in this sordid anti African agenda really saddens those African people everywhere who are working hard, making their own humble contributions to ensure that our continent, the cradle of mankind and mother of civilization, is united and takes its rightful place in the community of nations.
There's a host of measures that the AU, our SA government and other African governments need to implement to deal with criminals, certain police who're alleged to be on the payroll of Nigerian drug dealers and brothel owners, SA citizens who take the law into their own hands as well as the corruption, fratricidal internecine conflict, Boko and Al Shabab terrorism, repression and poverty which force so many millions of African immigrants to leave their countries to come to South Africa in search of peace, protection and prosperity. Unfortunately, South Africa cannot carry this burden alone, especially now that our country's economy is not doing well. Everyone of us African people must play our part, starting within our own families and bring up children who truly love their people and continent and hate injustice and corruption.

A PITTANCE compared to the damage to the environment and people's lives over a period of 32 years. Maybe, this amount would have sufficed 32 years ago, not today. Additional costs should be imposed on them for the restoration of the environment and livelihood of the communities.

Are you aware that LinkedIn does not verify the authenticity of info and pictures? How do you know the picture you saw on LinkedIn or the voice you heard on the phone, if you did communicate by phone, is hers/his. What if he/she posted an old picture or another person's picture? What if he/she is bisexual? Are you ready to play the bisexual game? How do you know she's not a Boko honey trap with a mandate to lure you into their dragnet so they can turn you into their secret agent or something else? What love are you going there to prove? Love for the picture and or voice of a person you've never seen? Surely there's no shortage of pretty girls in Lagos and elsewhere in Nigeria? if you really want to go to Maiduguri, you must be a very brave fellow. So better do something the whole world will remember you for. Go instead to the Sambisa forest and Bring Back Our Girls!
Romance / Re: She Asked Me To Come Visit Her In Borno State To Prove My Love For Her by Miaraka: 1:50pm On May 20, 2015
My candid advise to you, a human being, living in the year 2015, in a BH-infested Nigeria, not the 1977 to 1979 Nigeria when I was a student in Mubi near Maiduguri, is that you should take the Nigerian special forces with you and also please remember to ask them to lend you a bomb proof vest. A bullet proof vest may not be good enough. Your pretty and loving acquaintance may be a Boko bomber or underground activist who's been instructed to lure you into a Boko trap from which you'd not be able to escape with your life. For the sake of the people of Lagos and I who might be visiting again soon from SA, not just your first born status, Don't Go There. What if they train you on how to make bombs from household materials so that they can use you for a South bombing campaign? After all you don't even know whether or not the picture you saw on LinkedIn is authentic, you've never even met her, she could be a He or a bisexual who might decide to rape you when you get there. So what love are you going there to prove to a picture or phone voice which might not be of the person you think you're interested in. Don't you have pretty girls elsewhere in Nigeria? As far as I know, there's no shortage. If, for some strange reason, you can't find one in other parts of Nigeria, I can help you search around Africa or you can come down to my part of the continent.

Hahahaha
I Knew it was too good to be true. This war was won by the Chadians and the fvcking , mercenaries.
If the Nigerian armed forces were spearheading this Im sure the entire country would have been overrun by now
Nigerian army only good for manning checkpoints, doing bodyguard for ogas while their fat stvpid generals are busy
Drinking gulder and peppersoup while chasing girls
How unfortunate! You have no respect for your armed forces, the men and women who are ready to die for their country, your country's last line of defence. For your information, every nation has it's own challenges and a few bad potatoes, here and there. However, that should not serve as justification for you to insult and despise an entire army which has a good reputation world-wide. Please find a library and read a little a bit about the Nigerian army. Do you even know that there were battles in which some of your soldiers fought against BH until they ran out of ammunition? You need to apologise to all Africans for what you've said.
Romance / Re: Non- Sexual Attributes That Attract Ladies To Men by Miaraka: 6:31am On May 12, 2015
To the author, you're spot on. Women like all those things about men but there are two challenges: 1. It's not easy to know which woman likes or dislikes which characteristic or combination of characteristics attributable to a man; 2. Whatever she likes or is attracted to today tends to put her off or bore her afterwards. So, you'll never really measure up to her standards because her heart is like a highly skillful moving target. In other words, she doesn't know what she really wants; 3. Only a chameleon can do a better job. Unfortunately, for the poor chameleon, it's not a man and a man would die of heart trouble or a stroke, if he tried to mimic the chameleon.

Therefore, dear author, that leaves us with one way out - wealth. The ancient Zulu answer is literally, "The attractiveness of a man is found in his cattle." Cattle represented wealth in the olden days. My brothers must work very hard and make money available to their women and the women will respond with eternal love and tolerate even the intolerable, as long as you don't beat them up. Just don't beat her up. I have two daughters and I'll kill any man who uses them as a punching bag.

Hi, Morpheus 24! I've decided to come to Nigeria for a face to face exchange of views. I'm in Lagos since last night. I'll soon be on my way attend a funeral at one of the villages.
Regarding, your "perception is not always reality", I concur with you. That notwithstanding, I'd like to remind you that One Man's Reality is Another Man's Perception. The reality I see in Sandton, Johannesburg or that you see in Lagos, may not necessarily be identical to the reality that squatter camp dwellers see and experience. While the majority of Nigerians are definitely the best people in the world, that doesn't necessarily mean that South Africa has also been blessed with a majority of the Nigerian angels I've met lived, studied and worked with since 1977.
Be that as it may, in South Africa, the Governent and the majority of South Africans are united in saying that Nothing Can Justify the maiming and killing of fellow humans, wherever they may have come from. As I've already said in a number of posts, we've already graduated from the level of expressing our shock, anger and disgust with regard to attacks on immigrants. We are now busy working hard and putting measures in place to obviate, once and for all, the underlying causes of attacks on immigrants as well as the violent nature of our society which we inherited from our apartheid past.
If you find sweet solace and cosy comfort in a perpetual embrace with the demon of anger, please keep it up and we'll pray that you survive the concomitant devastating effects.

Morpheus 24, you don't seem to get tired of trying to show that all South African are "xenophobic". Now you're even suggesting that the so-called xenophobia is embedded in our psyche. When you do that, you sound like the worst version of a xenophobe that has walked on the surface of Mother Earth. I'd like to believe that you didn't have time to think about the real meaning of your insult. You said it in anger. As the the intellectual that I sincerely believe you are, you may wish to peruse my two posts (see above) based on my lifetime experience here on the African continent, Europe and the US. Check them out and respond. I'd also propose that you begin to calm down, look at the bigger picture and propose the way forward for Nigeria-South Africa relations and the whole African continent.

Reczqcm, you are so young and yet you are responding in a mature manner to the topic. I think what you are proposing has already been proposed at President Zuma's meeting with the representatives of mainly African immigrants.

You sound like a nice lady & I don't know if you're a new member or an old one reincarnated, but sisi wam, you're going to tire with the kumbaya. It doesn't seem to work with some people here. I commend you for trying though. But soon enough, you'll start snatching off weaves & toupees too all in the name of patriotism lol. Mark my words.
No, my dear sister. I'm not a lady. I'm just a man who means well, understands what's going on and strongly believes that Nigeria and South Africa need each other for the sake of Africa, if not for themselves. Their historical mission has already been determined by the vast natural and human resources at their disposal, their capacity to serve as Africa's development engine. They have to enter into a focused and result orientated partnership, lead and extricate this continent from the quagmire of under-development and stagnation that has been it's plight since independence. Their failure to do this is too ghastly to contemplate.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Xenophobia: 8yrs Old South African Girl Mocked For Bearing A Nigerian Name by Miaraka: 7:10pm On May 03, 2015
This exchange of insults and threats is not and will not help anyone. You can boast and do whatever else you want but when all is said, done and dusted, you'll discover that you originated from among the downtrodden, despised and humiliated people of this continent. We, the South Africans, are ashamed and deeply regret what a few among us have done in our name. We have come out in our thousands and expressed our solidarity with the victims of criminal attacks on immigrants and said never again will we allow anyone to commit this kind of crime in our name.
Not only, our parliament went on recess so that our parliamentarians could visit their constituencies and address matters pertaining to the recent attacks on foreigners. Our President and his cabinet met with all stakeholders, including foreigners. They've set up a 14 member ministerial. committee and a committee of immigrant reps to ensure the implementation of decisions taken at their meetings. We are taking practical steps which involve every South African.
It's possible, that Nigeria and other countries are consulting among themselves. I hope that their consultations are different from the mostly negative posts I see on Nairaland. I hope they're now busy discussing about an African future with our country as part of that future.
The best way to remember and honour xenophobia victims around the continent and heroes who die daily in the Mediterranean Sea in their brave effort to leave poverty and persecution behind, in Africa, is to chart the way forward by pledging and organizing ourselves to fight and defeat all the evils that divide and turn us into our own enemies and objects of ridicule.
Your perpetual expression of shock about what happened here recently, the insults and threats against us, the South Africans, when you know that xenophobia started in your countries before it showed its head in SA and that your countrymen leave their own part of the continent because of the persecution and deprivation that is generated by greed, corruption and a dire lack of governance structures, processes and checks and balances, is the height of self-deception and what will lead to the demise of Nkrumah's dream of a united and prosperous Africa. Nkrumah's dream must not die! Working together, we can make it come true!

We know and accept that you are not clowning when you threaten to close down and or destroy the property of South African companies and attack South Africans who are legally in your country. The negligibly few South Africans who were involved in the recent shameful, dastardly and unacceptable attacks on other Africans, learned from the best. In 1983, the democratically-elected Shehu Shagari government actually legislated the expulsion of at least 2 million Ghanaians and a few other African immigrants.
This act of xenophobia was repeated by the military in 1985. The beating and killing of innocent foreigners, mostly Ghanaians, had become a national pastime as they were blamed for the widespread crime, corruption and unemployment. By the force of law and popular support Ghanaians were ordered to leave within 7 days and take only N20.00 or $17. 65 USD with them. Their businesses were seized, closed down or destroyed. As if that was not enough, you danced, sang hate songs, mocked and laughed at them as they climbed onto overcrowded vehicles destined for the border. You even have a Ghana Must Go bag to crown it all!
Hitherto, South Africans had lived and worked peacefully for decades with Africans from as far as Tanzania, Madagascar, etc. Some of them even became great South African musicians, ANC and trade union leaders.
Siyabonga Gama is actually 4 years old and is South African. Siyabonga means "we are grateful" and Gama means "name" in the Zulu language. He was hit by a stray rubber bullet in February 2015 when the police were forced to fire at some people who were trying to illegally seize and occupy land in Diepsloot, north of Johanbesburg.
I've lived, studied and worked in many African and European countries. I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that prejudice is part of the DNA of human beings. It exists even among Nigerians. I'm South African, born and bred in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Other children used to call me Mafutha ( Zulu for fat) and also laugh at my big banana lips. They would mock others because they didn't have a dad or because they were slim or had big or small eyes, were light or very dark in complexion. If you ran to your mother, complaining about what other children were saying, she would train you how to hit back.
In Nigeria, our rivals told the girls that we hadn't been circumcised and were going to infect them. Most of our guys had no choice but to buy it at the market, as a result. At a school in the North East, when we were facing certain death or injury because a Yoruba girl loved one of us, Nigerian tribalism saved us. There were only 15 South Africans and Zimbabweans at our school. The battle line was drawn, Nigerian and Southern African boys were facing each, weapons in hand, when the Nigerians started quarreling among themselves. The Igbos joined us and that increased our number and stopped the fight. In the South East, one of us was burnt with acid on the face. We didn't accuse the whole Nigerian nation of some xenophobic agenda against us. Neither did we run to the ANC and ask them to organise an international campaign against Nigeria. This could have happened anywhere in the world, even in our own country. We knew that the Nigerian people and Government were good people, were supportive of our struggle and wishing us well.
My advise to the wives of foreigners is that they should be strong, train their children to be mentally strong and stand up for themselves, teach their children about our struggle and Africa as well as what caused their fathers to come and settle here. I'm also available to help them whatever way possible.
As for Nigerians, I invite you to visit and see with your own eyes what SOME immigrants, including SOME Nigerians, are doing in this country. Sober-minded, hard-working, law-abiding and God-fearing Nigerians who are here legally dislike what their countrymen are doing in this country. Why do you keep saying they hate us? We don't hate Nigerians. We hate crime and criminals belong behind bars or back home where they come from. Advise your countrymen to register themselves as political refugees, business people, experts or students. As long as our Government has your photo, fingerprints and address in South Africa and you stay away from criminal activities, you will have an enjoyable and peaceful stay in South Africa. We can even offer you a wife or husband, if you need one. Even the Zulu King, in my opinion the biggest landowner in this country, apart from Government , can even give you land where you can settle your clan or build your own city. Just do the right thing. Why do you want us to accept that your people should live here illegally, as outlaws? Are you good Nigerians or someone else?
You are mistaken, our President is not stupid. You sound like a greenhorn and stupid idiot. Even with your PhD you'll never do better than him. President Zuma, despite the lack of formal education, was born in one of the most underdeveloped villages of our countrywhich. He joined ANC at the age of 16, joined our guerrilla army at the age of 19, spent 10 years on Robben Island, recruited people and rebuilt the underground structures of his party upon his release from prison, went into exile when it became practically impossible for him to continue his underground work, he was appointed Chief of Intelligence by the late ANC President, Oliver Tambo, he also is credited for stopping the fighting between Inkatha Freedom Party and ANC members which saw thousands of Zulus being manipulated by the apartheid regime to kill each other in the 80s and before the first democratic elections. He is also the man who successfully negotiated the Burundi peace settlement which was started by President Nyerere of Tanzania. Despite all odds, he beat all of us, black and white, to the highest post in the land. Can you match any or all of that with your PhD?
The distortion and dissemination of mendacious information against our country by you and your type as well as the ease with which you accept, believe and act on it, confirms my suspicion that somewhere in the world, hopefully not in Nigeria or South Africa, there is a fifth column that is taking full advantage of your arrogance and lack of knowledge and running a dirty tricks department with a view to cause an irreparable rift between South Africa and Nigeria, thereby setting the stage for Presidents Buhari and Zuma to preside over the worst ever bilateral relations between South Africa and Nigeria, the two Sub Saharan economic powerhouses that must work together and lead Africa's struggle for sustainable development, economic freedom and true independence,

Please stop this childish comparisons. It's a fact that Nigeria is now regarded as Africa's biggest economy but that does not necessarily mean that South Africa has suddenly become the least developed nation on the continent. We've lost many jobs in the past few years and our people's standard has gone down as a result. That notwithstanding, there are many things we can do better than Nigeria and vise versa. What need to do is find ways and means of dealing a death blow to poverty, corruption and crime in general as well as stop the wars and facilitate inter African trade, etc. What matters the most is for each one of to focus our attention on the fight for the restoration of the dignity of black people, eradicate poverty and disease and improve our living standards.

The best way forward for our two countries and beloved African continent is that we should have questioning minds, verify the correctness of what others tell us or write about us, be aware that the majority of South Africans, like the majority of Nigerians, are peace-loving, law-abiding and God-fearing people and desist from defending Nigerian and South African criminals or insult and threaten war against a whole nation because of a few thousand criminals and lumpen proletariat. Whoever it is that is misinforming both South Africans and Nigerians, is sitting and enjoying the results of his labour because you are all doing precisely what they ordered. Both sides are saying they hate us. Nobody hates anyone here. You just need to get to know and understand each other better. The majority of Nigerians who live here are successful business people and professionals, Pastors, students, etc. Some of them are here with their families and are not impressed by all these insults and threats. They know that South Africa is a structured and highly regularized society and no one will disturb you, if your documents are in order.

The fact is that you Nigerians are just the same as the people you say are insulting you. Just like you, they are ill-informed. Most of them have never been to Nigeria or other African countries., have never lived with or gone to school with Nigerians. They know only one type of Nigerian - the one who has no valid documents, who is up to no good, the drug dealer, brothel owner, human trafficker, etc. They are not aware of the Nigerians who live here, the ones who does legitimate business, the lecturer, the doctor, engineer, etc.
You too don't seem to know that there are other South Africans and other Zulus, the overwhelming majority who have nothing against Nigerians and other human beings, the hard-working, law-abiding and God-fearing South Africans who just want everyone who lives here to be properly registered abide by the laws of this country.
Do you even know that the people who were involved in attacks against immigrants were only a few thousand, maybe not more than two thousand criminals and lumpen proletariat in some parts of Durban and Johannesburg?
(For your information, there are 12 million Zulus here and all of us, a nation of more than 50 million are accused of being savages who hate Nigerians. Yet not even one Nigerian was killed, only one or two suffered minor injuries. We have an estimated 5 million African immigrants, including 3 million Zimbabweans and possibly half a million Nigerians. Only 4 immigrants died and 3 South Africans died.)
I really need to remind both you guys who're busy insulting and threatening each other that we are all African and it's time to sober up and combine forces to address all the issues and challenges that divide us. We have no choice. Nigeria and South Africa must work together and lead the struggle to unite, not to divide the continent. Nothing can defeat a united African continent,

As an African I'm still saddened by the failure of the Nigerian government to Bring Back Our Girls. I understand that the government thought that a rescue mission could endanger the girls' lives. Can somebody explain why the Nigerian government decided against a deal with BH for the girls' release. sincerely never imagined that the Nigerian army which prior to this incident was known for decades to be a formidable army which had done great things for Africa couldn't go after BH and rescue the girls. Men everywhere are very protective of their women and children. They'll risk life and limb for them. I know Nigerians are not different. In fact, ordinary Nigerians are reported to have made some efforts to go after BH. Why didn't the government choose one of the two options at their disposal?
Politics / Re: Federal Government Orders Bodies Of Four Nigerians Executed In Indonesia by Miaraka: 11:02pm On Apr 30, 2015
We received moral, diplomatic and material support from Nigeria. I was a high school student in Nigeria together with over a hundred other South Africans. That was 1977 to 1979. There were 168 of us. I don't know anything about the billions of dollars you're referring to and not saying there were none. I just never saw them or felt their presence in my life.
We were treated quite well but some of the boys spread propaganda about us. They told the girls we hadn't been circumcised and we'd infect them. Very few of us had girlfriends as a result and some of the guys resorted to buying it in the market place.
At our school in the North East, one of our guys was waylaid and beaten up by a group of frustrated suitors of a Yoruba girl. She would take their gifts and share them with her SA boyfriend. We went after them and a fight between two hotheads from our two countries ensued. The battle lines were drawn and we were outnumbered but thanks to tribalism, a quarrel started between the Igbos and Yorubas started. The Igbos crossed the line and joined us and that saved us from being massacred. I thank God for using tribalism to save our lives. In the South East one of our guys was burnt with acid on the face.
That notwithstanding, we were not bitter and didn't think that the whole Nigerian nation was against. We had already received ANC political education by the time we were sent to Nigeria and were veterans of the Soweto uprising. We were not going to play into the hands of the enemy of our people. I've looked at the picture provided by Thapelo above and indeed Nigeria does not feature. Madagascar is also not there despite the fact that we had an office in that country. Our external mission to the USSR and academic training in that country have been omitted.
The best way to proceed is to verify the authenticity of Thapelo's information. If it's found that indeed Nigeria and others were omitted we should demand an explanation and that a correct reflection of the truth should be effected.
Now Nigerians, why blame our whole nation for something millions of our people are not even aware of. I actually doubt President Zuma knows about this. Former President Mbeki may also not be aware. They can't know every detail of everything in our country. It's impossible. South Africans or those who give the impression that they are South Africans on this site should stop talking nonsense. In fact, the problem with the SAs and 9jas is that they both believe that they are God's greatest gift to Africa, they are arrogant, shortsighted and both accuse the of hating them. You are embarrassing us. If you are as great as you claim you are prove it, serve and save Africa instead of wasting valuable time, massaging your oversized egos. Africa is tired of being the object of ridicule.

Sorry to disappoint those who're already celebrating the news that BH is on the way to South Africa to avenge Nigerians you claim are being killed in "the ongoing xenophobic attacks." (Stop lying to yourselves. No Nigerians were killed. Just minor injuries. Three South Africans and four foreigners were killed and the vigilante and criminal attacks on foreigners ended on 20/04/15.). They know about this and that our government and people will never again tolerate or allow attacks on foreigners in this country and are putting systems and processes in place to prevent any further occurrence. They would be coming to do what their masters have hired them to do, not to entertain you.
When an efficient conventional army, guerrilla army or terrorist group announces that it's going to attack a particular target, it actually means it has already made arrangements and is ready to attack. Alternatively, they'd make such threats for propaganda purposes.
In the case under discussion, there's a possibility that they've already established a network of cells or arms caches or both in our territory. While what the ZimEye is saying could be stale news (and we should guard against raising a false alarm), it could easily be the confirmation of suspicions expressed by some of our researchers and government that there was a third force involved in the recent attacks on foreigners. The researchers who talked to some of the victims revealed that some of the assailants were not known to the victims, others came in expensive cars and generally seemed to know which shops to attack. As for the government, it talked about the mobility and organization displayed in the attacks. The relevant government structures should shine their eyes and polish their ears.
A third force or fifth column has the capacity to cause chaos and mayhem in the enemy camp. Among others, it can get involved directly and attack one side or both sides at the same time and quickly leave the scene after ensuring that the one side is convinced that it was attacked by the other. After that, they can buy themselves some popcorn, sit back and watch Africans blaming, insulting threatening and killing each other. From time to time they would take measures to raise or lower the intensity of the conflict, whatever suits their fancy.
As you're aware, many a coup and internecine fratricidal conflict that have been taking place in this continent since African countries gained political independence, are sponsored or instigated by people who don't wish Africa well. They want us to focus on trivial issues and engage in a process of self attrition to facilitate the exploitation of our people and continent.
If certain forces which are not impressed by South Africa's independent foreign policy under the ANC government would like to inflict serious damage to our political and economic stability, they would employ a combination of service delivery protests and the so-called xenophobic violence to isolate our country and create a conducive environment for its international isolation and the boycott of her goods and services as well as facilitate the entry of Al Shabab and Boko Haram elements into the fray, ostensibly to defend Somalis, Nigerians against the "ongoing xenophobic attacks" carried out by the "savage" South Africans.
The same third force would at their chosen hour present themselves as the mediators, peacemakers or funders of envoys on "the South African conflict." If all goes according to plan, they'd be able to put their preferred party into power or end up with a Libya on their faces. The reported threat by some immigrants that they would resort to guerrilla warfare, may not be far-fetched after all. That could be another way of telling us that they've already arrived.
In their own different ways, South Africa and Nigeria have amazing capacity and potential. Unity, friendship and close co-operation between these two economic giants of Sub-Saharan Africa could play a key role in extricating Africa from the quagmire of poverty and internal conflict and place it on the path of peace, inter-Africa trade and co-operation, thereby facilitating a quicker arrival of our continent on the highest level of development.
If any of the aforementioned terrorist groups were to attack our country, I'd take it as a confirmation of my suspicion that they are hired guns of the dark forces that are against a free, truly independent, peaceful, united and highly developed Africa.
They must know just one thing, that we have a great deal of experience in this field. It is one of our areas of expertise. We know exactly what to do with them.

Unfortunately, SERAP is clutching at straws. It's quite clear that they've been misinformed or chose to rely on cheap rumors and the fake videos that have appeared on social media. Perhaps this could be good for Africa Magic or propaganda purposes but not for a court of law which knows what it's doing. How will they be able to prove any of their allegations about a link between what the Zulu King said and attacks on foreigners which followed two weeks later. As for the alleged complicity of the South African President and security forces, it's sad to say but they are laughable. By the way, how many Nigerians were killed? None. 7 people died, including three South Africans. Does SERAP really think that there would only be 4 foreigners dead, if millions of ordinary South Africans, security forces and the President had't stood firm against violence? I'm afraid SERAP is ether suffering from infantile disorder or is not aware that April Fool Day was on the 1st of April 2015.
The African people desperately need and expect cool-headed and mature leadership at every level. We don't need shortsighted organisations which appear to want to undo the good work that President Zuma, his cabinet, representatives of immigrants and others have been doing, especially in the past two weeks. SERAP can go on with its divisive plans which appear to be designed to prevent the strengthening of the relations that subsist between South Africa and Nigeria. They're wasting their time. On this side of the continent we've put an end to unacceptable attacks on foreigners and are doing all we can to ensure that there's enduring peace and friendship between locals and immigrants. We need Nigeria and South Africa to work together, the way they did when President Obasanjo was in office and even better.

Why do you delete my posts? Don't you want Nigerians and other readers to know that they are being misinformed or at least be aware of other facts and decide for themselves? Is it because I don't hide the fact that I'm South African? People are spreading lies or feeding you with half truths about our country and people and you are supporting that? Why don't you let people decide for themselves?

Foreign Affairs / Re: Xenophobia: Nigeria To Demand N84m Damages From South Africa by Miaraka: 7:34am On Apr 29, 2015
I'm sure our Government will gladly pay more than double that amount if only the Honourable Minister could commit to evacuating all the Nigerian criminals and leaving us with the majority who are hard-working, God-fearing and law-abiding. Alternatively, we could do a swap - send us a plane load of your highly-trained experts and creative geniuses in exchange for Nigerian and South African criminals. We don't want them here. Maybe you can handle them with love and care. I also think the should give us guarantees to the effect that the N84 million won't evaporate into thin air like the 20 billion. Jokes aside, the Minister should know by now that Nigerians love it here. They're actually enjoying themselves. If you have money to waste, send the planes and let's see how many Nigerians will get on board. The Minister should rather express his love and patriotism for Africa and Nigeria by doing everything in his power to ensure that the abducted girls are liberated from Boko Haram bondage. His cheap publicity stunt and theatrics of demanding N84 million won't do anybody any good.

Talking about the USA, please don't lie. The USA actually has a special organ which hunts down illegal immigrants. If you don't know, visit google or watch Africa magic. You'll see films which show how the USA pursues and deports illegal immigrants. You can even find out from Latin Americans, especially the Mexicans. They'll tell you how badly they are treated by the USA.

Some South Africans and Nigerians don't seem to know what they want. Last week when the soldiers and police actually raided two hostels for South African men, not stop and search, they complained that the raids were in contravention of the South African constitution and human rights law and designed to please foreigners. This week they stop and search some people in two suburbs, you complain that they're targeting foreigners in order to show how tough they are against foreigners. Do you know that it was actually from those hostels that attacks were being organized and carried out and that the police fought running battles with them, just a few days before the raids? They were doing all this to protect foreigners and stop the violence. What do you actually want us to do? Do you want innocent South Africans and immigrants to suffer and die because of a small number of local and foreign criminals. Maybe our government should provide you with a list of of horrendous crimes some of the foreign criminals have committed in this country. In case you don't know, some immigrants who are here legally, working and or doing legitimate business, are against criminals from their countries. They want them to be sent back home or to jail. Do you Nigerians like when people think that all Nigerians are drug dealers 419ers, etc., because of a few rotten potatoes when you know quite well that you are a creative, hardworking, God-fearing and law-abiding nation? I studied in Nigeria in the seventies and studied with Nigerians in Europe, I know that you are good people and a great nation but other people are not that lucky.
