I'd be overcome with kindness, love and understanding as this would be a reminder of the long road humankind has traversed because indeed we've come a long way. Rather than be angry with her, I'd love and adore her, see this as a rare opportunity to take my best friend by the hand and walk her through the centuries to this day, the 29th of Dec 2015.

Impoverished Nigerian FAMILIES in South Africa? Are you kidding? Please tell me more about these families. Is it really possible? How did that happen? individual young men and maybe some girls who were swindled by their fellow countrymen or are still busy finding their way or starting their business or searching for employment, yes. What are you talking about? How did they come here? How did they become impoverished? Which human brings his whole family to SA or any country before establishing themselves?

Family / Re: No To Getting A Car Because Am Single by Miaraka: 9:16pm On Dec 26, 2015
OP, it's true. it's not easy for most men to approach a woman who appears to be above them in terms of status. They get intimidated. If you decide to buy a car, buy one a second hand low class vehicle and even bang it with a hummer here and there to provoke most men's provider instinct and loving kindness or make them want work to hard and make money to buy you a better one. The thing is, most normal men are born with the burning desire to provide for and protect their women and children. Now, if you can afford a car, something which costs more than clothes and furniture to buy, maintain and insure, a certain group of men and I guess they are in the majority, will feel robbed of their provider instict and will be asking themselves how do you afford this one, how do you maintain her and what kind of present can you buy to put a smile on her face? Your relatives, may have other motives in advising you not to buy a car. but believe me, they are telling you the truth. I know many women, here in SA, who can confirm what I'm telling you. Buy yourself a car, if you want, but let it be cheap, not a show stopper. Buy something which is just good enough to take you from point A to B.

I dont consider shiites as muslims based on their extremist views which are contrary to islamic principles so i wont miss them
Please do not talk like that about other humans who also believe they God's children. It is this kind of language which can lead to catastrophe. The Shiites in Nigeria are hated by the majority Sunni more than they hate us Christians. They have been hounded, taunted, tormented, tortured and massacred for at least three decades, simply because they are peaceful, are not Sunni and are a minority. Even their spiritual leaders' children have not been spared. Just last year, three of Zakzaky's sons were killed by soldiers and this past weekend three more were attacked by soldiers at their own home. They sustained bullet wounds and maybe died. Despite all this, they have not resorted to terrorism and are unlikely to do so, if you mind your language and attitude towards them and other human beings. By the way, how many Shiite terrorist groups do you know? I can tell you Al Nusra, Al Shibab, Al Qaida, Boko Haram, ISIL/ISIS, Seleka of Central African Republic, Taliban and many others I cannot mention for lack of space are Sunni.

FOLYKAZE:
The shiite protesters were not peaceful with their procession. They had weapons and were about to attack COAS even after the army chief appeal to them to allow him pass.

They got what they deserve. Sorry for the lost souls
So, according to you, this man and baby daughter died because they were not peaceful What you are saying is that this man was actually holding a weapon with one hand and carrying his little baby girl who was also armed with another hand? Is your head linked to your body like other human beings? Is there any brain in your head? Any heart in your body and if yes, does it pump blood to every part of your body, including your head? If they were carrying weapons and were spoiling for a fight, why is it that only the civilians were killed or injured? If this was about the Shia causing a traffic jam, why is it that the soldiers went to people's homes and killed them there? Why didn't they just force the road open by slaughtering the innocent who were in the procession as they did? Why was it necessary to go and destroy shrines and people's homes? If the Nigerian army is exhausted by their war with the Sunni terrorists and frustrated by its failure to meet the ill - conceived, ill - considered and unreasonable propagandist deadline to defeat Boko Haram by 31 December, they should not take it out on unarmed worshippers. It's not the fault of the peaceful Shia. It's the fault of their Commander in Chief and his failure to understand that to defeat Boko Haram, you need all Nigerians and the international community, not an alliance with Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, the very people who are the main sponsors of Boko Haram and terrorism in general.

Somebody should please put me through here. So this group blocked the way of the military men, then the military men went on rampage and kill everything kill able, even a baby and raze their home and shrine, or is the shrine blocking the way too? Armoured vehicle was deployed to patrol the streets, chasing the civilians away..

There is more to this story than what is being told. I think its a premeditated plan to attack this sect.

I'm not a muslim, but I know what is wrong when I see one. This is wrong.

You are very correct. It was premeditated and it's not the first time this kind of crime is committed against the Shiites. But then, what does one do when they are slapped with an ill-considered December deadline to defeat Boko Haram, a Suni terrorist organization like all others (Al Qaeda, Al Nusra, Al Shibab, ISIL/ISIS) and you suddenly discover in December that Boko Haram is still standing and going nowhere? You look for low
hanging fruit and walkovers like the ever peaceful non-jihadist Shiites who take up arms only in self-defence or in support of the Palestinian cause. You massacre the Shiites who're participating in the procession. Just in case some have survived, you go to their homes and finish them off there. That way, at least, you can report that you achieved something. You have destroyed a sect which tried to kill the Chief of Staff and in any case, they were eventually going to transform themselves into a terrorist organization. Unfortunately, the plan wasn't a very good one. They messed up the communication and attempted assassination part of the plan. Everything they've done supports the allegation that this was a premeditated massacre. I hope they didn't forget that the authenticity of video footage is verifiable.

I support the Nigerian Army in its brave fight against Boko Haram. Their fight against terrorism is in the best interests of our whole African continent, not only Nigeria.
That notwithstanding, their shameless, cowardly and brutal massacre of innocent and unarmed Shiites and arbitrary assassination of Zakzaky and his family is totally unaccaptable, indefensible and a gross injustice against fellow Africans. It tantamount to state terrorism and must be condemned by all Africans and the international community. Go and fight Boko Haram! Stop taking out your frustration on innocent civilians. The Shiites are not the ones who gave you a stupid and ill-considered deadline to defeat Boko Haram by December 2015.

KanoAbiaBabe:
'Suicide bombing may continue' imagine statement from those who are meant to protect us. Is not their fault because they are not affected by this madness eating up this great nation. Our safety is of God alone.
It's true and correct. The army knows how to fight a conventional war. BH cannot match the Nigerian army in a conventional war where there are very clear and palpable targets - territory, buildings, vehicles, people in uniforms, etc. Once those are taken out of the equation, things become very complicated for the army of any country, not only the Nigerian army. The asymmetrical or guerrilla style war is what the Nigerian army would have to deal with and like conventional war is the Nigerian army speciality, Boko Haram's own speciality is asymmetrical or guerrilla warfare or cat and mouse, mosquito and human being, mouse baseball bat armed human against a mosquito or mouse. You could end up thinking they Boko Haram uses witchcraft but it's not. They are armed with guerrilla strategy and tactics which were designed for the weak and simply armed to gradually nibble at the body of a well-armed, technologically advanced and highly trained national army until it's frustrated, demoralized, cannot even defend itself and its weapons, is willing to be disarmed and captured, refuses or is simply unable to fight. I pray that will not be the portion and fate of the Nigerian army because that would spell doom for our continent. We don't want to be ruled by these savages who impose their own brand of Islam on others and slaughter human beings who disagree with them. The only way forward to victory over Boko Haram is a combination of political and military strategy and tactics, based on the realization, understanding and acceptance of the fact that Boko Haram is not fighting with guns and bombs alone. It has won the hearts and minds of certain Nigerians and foreigners who hide and feed its fighters as well as provide it with moral and material assistance. Further to that, they are in an alliance with Daesh/ISIL/ISIS which is currently busy building its Africa headquarters in Sirte, Libya. You need to win the hearts and minds of Nigerians and the international community. There will be not short-cut to victory. Prepare yourself for a protracted war in which every Nigerian will play their own part, not the army, police and national intelligence alone. Each citizen - actor, singer, preacher, lecturer, sports person, child, adult, billionaire, poor man, your sharp eyesight and ears, etc - has a role to play in such a war. Do something, however small. Stop blaming others. The blame game, tribalism, insulting other religions, serves the interests of Boko Haram. Every time you are tribalistic or anti Islam, Boko Haram celebrates because you're unknowingly mobilizing support for them among Nigerians and foreigners.

I'm sorry to say this but I regret to tell you that unless all Nigerians and the international community are mobilized to play various roles in the fight against Boko Haram, the Nigerian Army and others in the Nigerian security establishment will not even smell victory before or on the deadline. The Boko Haram problem is too big for the Nigerian security forces to handle on their own while others are giving them deadlines and standing on the sidelines to see if they will meet this or that deadline. One thing I can tell you about the deadline you have in mind is that it works in favour of Boko Haram. You've given them a day on which they should show you how good they are at what they do. Don't say I didn't tell you. The contribution of David Smith's radio in the fight against Boko Haram can never be overestimated. In fact, you need many more stations like that to address the Boko Haram question from various angles and languages. Oh, I nearly forgot.....please consider seeing human beings as black and white. Anyone, black or white, who can contribute something, however small, against terrorists who torture, maime and kill innocent Moslems and Christians in Nigeria and elsewhere should be embraced like a long lost brother or sister.

No, my sister. Church income is not taxable and the church continues to enjoy its privileges as a non profit organization. There's no plan to cause trouble for anyone. However, the commission as one of our country's democratic institutions has work to do now that some Pastors are selling holy water, persuading Christmas to eat grass and snakes and compelling to pay exorbitant tithe and offering amounts. The commission has to conduct hearings and submit recommendations to the government and legislators.

You are either a helpless victim of propaganda or you just like commenting about things you know nothing about. Try and read more or at least watch some YouTube videos about what is happening in Ukraine, Syria and the world Do you know about a Russian passenger plane, Siberia Airlines 1812 which was downed by Ukraine in 2001? Do you know that the Ukraineans only accepted they shot it down only when the Russians finally produced irrefutable evidence? Regarding the MH17, do you know that the results of the investigation were deliberately inconclusive, only suggested but didn't point a finger at Russia? Do you know that a USA satellite was in the same area where MH17 went down, at the same time, same day but the Americans are yet to release the crucial evidence which could corroborate or debunk the Russian evidence which was ignored by the investigators? Do you know that the BUK missile which was used to shoot down MH17 is obsolete Soviet equipment which Russia decommissioned but Ukraine still uses? Find out about Carlos, a Spanish guy who worked at the Ukraine Air Traffic Control station when MH17 was flying through Ukraine airspace. Do your own research, with an open mind and please develop a questioning mind rather than voraciously gobble everything the media tells you.

These Boko Haram people are the servants of Satan. They are killing unarmed people, feeding Satan with the blood of the innocent. Why are they not focusing on the security forces and the country's infrastructure? If they were fighting for freedom or power to rule Nigeria or a part of it, they would not kill civilians, Moslems and Christians, indiscriminately. How can they massacre the people over whom they want to be the master? Are they planning to rule over the dead or eat their flesh? Who will they rule, if they kill everyone? Are they planning to replace the people they are killing with immigrants? Do they already have salaried foreign fighters, strategists and commanders in their ranks like their ally, ISIS?

If you want that victory sooner rather than later and for the sake of those who live in the frontline areas and have to accept the fact that Boko Haram might bomb or shoot them to death, rape or force them to fight the Nigerian army or kill innocent people, please abandon your hatred of Islam or other religions. Most Moslems are not terrorists. Some things are more complicated than we think. The fact that terrorists are using Islam to raise funds and recruit fighters does not make it a religion of terrorists. What you are doing is another way of serving the interests of Boko Haram. You are indirectly mobilizing support for Boko Haram and encouraging people to join them. Stop it before it's too late. Rather take some time and ruminate about what you yourself can do to help your nation defeat Boko Haram. Helping victims of the war to regain their health or reorganise their lives, is an invaluable contribution to your nation's war against Boko Haram and their terrorism. Even a smile in the direction of the victims, the Nigerian security forces and other Nigerians, irrespective of religion or tribe, can help eradicate terrorism in Nigeria and prevent it from spreading to other African countries.

I think you should consider blaming the Zimbabwean government whose policies caused EU and USA to withdraw aid and investments, their boss who probably pays them meagre wages or these women themselves for spoiling their own fun.
After all, in this country, Zimbabweans are everywhere doing the jobs South Africans can do but are preferred by the mainly white bosses because they are not unionised and most are illegal immigrants. Therefore, they can be fired at will, paid peanuts or with the meat they are processing and or packaging.
There are at least 3 million black and white Zimbabweans in SA, according to some reports but it looks like the whole population of 14 million is here, in the kitchens, gardens, restaurants, offices, factories, farms and everywhere you go.
However, we shouldn't complain as the country is or was South Africa's biggest African trading partner when their economy was doing well.

[quote author=chukwudi44 post=40181480]105? Really!! How many then were the boko haram they confronted? 1000?[/quote
All I can tell you is they usually don't deploy a 1000 when they use guerila tactics. They thrive on speed, all kinds of tricks to make you think, for instance, that they are many when they are actually few and vise versa or to make you think they are in one place when they're elsewhere, etc., etc. You might even think they use juju. As long as you fight them like you're fighting the national army of another country and set deadlines, they'll embarass you big time. They'll frustrate and demoralize your army and as I've said elsewhere in this forum, they'll even disarm your soldiers. Now they're actually doing it. If you really want to win this war, you should mobilize each Nigerian to play a role - singing,,writing, praying, inter-faith activism, cooperation among citizens and among leaders, support for the victims and security forces and their families, treating captured BH humanely, emphasizing your oneness as a nation, etc. When you play the blame game, insult each other's tribe and fail to differentiate between Islam and people who use it for their own ends, you're mobilizing support for BH in Nigeria and abroad. Further to that, you need to mobilize the international community to support Nigeria in identifying, isolating and punishing the countries and individuals who provide BH with material and moral support, sharing information or intelligence about the movements of BH. Ofcourse, you're a great nation and giant of Africa but you need to humble yourselves and ask Angola and Mozambique to share their experience in fighting and winning a war against foreign-financed and inspired terrorists, Kenya and Somalia about terrorists who use religion to mobilise support and recruit fighters,
South Africa on how to mobilise the people and the international community as well as how to deal with terrorists who use urban guerrila tactics, Namibia and Zimbabwe on rural guerrila tactics.
Anything less than that, I'm afraid, will cause you to suffer inculculable but avoidable casualties before you finally realise your shortcomings start to do things differently.

What is wrong with us, menfolk? This crime is all over the world, even in the so-called developed world. Some even rape their own mothers and grannies! Harsh laws and measures can't be sufficient. I'm not a psychologist but I don't think this is about sex. I think those who rape are actually hitting back at society for whatever pain they believe or know was inflicted on them or deprivation they suffered at the hands of someone in their family or society. They are full of anger and hatred. I suggest that we add to the measures that are already in place in our countries, the following:
1. Shower children with lots of love in our families and in society. Every country should offer the children and youth the best that it can afford, particularly free education and opportunities to become the best they can be;
2. Women and girl children should be helped to become prickly and lethal roses. Men must know that they could be punished or killed by their targeted victim even before they get down there. The only safe option open to them should be to get down there through a relationship, negotiation or naira power;
3. Stop sellng girl children to old men and calling it marriage. That's another way of facilitating rape;
4. Stop giving girls to rich folks with a view to augment your family income or reduce the burden on your meagre family income. You actually sending them to the slaughter called statutory rape in South African law.

This is a big lie.

South Africans will do anything to rubbish Nigerians.

I am privileged to say Nigeria parade the finest doctors in South Africa.

I am following up the case at Polokwane in Limpopo tomorrow.

I can assure all the readers that Dr Anthony Nwafor is not fake.He is a family Physician in South Africa.They may other issues against him,but he is not a bogus doctor.

Yes, its possible there could be other issues. You and I don't know. All kinds of things happen in this world and an innocent man is falsely accused.
The good thing about this country is that we enjoy the rule of law and the innocent until found guilty principle is respected. An ordinary man can challenge even the President himself in court, win the case and be safe to live his life freely and happily.

If "Dr Nwafor" is innocent, his name will be cleared. At the moment he is only a suspect facing charges. If he wins the case, he can sue the Minister of Health. If he can't affored a lawyer, there are systems in place to ensure that he is legally represented.

There's no need to say,
"South Africans will do anything to rubbish Nigerians." That is not true and you know it. If it were so, how would you yourself be able to travel to Polokwane and follow up the matter without being rubbished and thrown behind bars? If it's as bad as you say, how come you and at least 2 million registered and unregistered Nigerians are still here and even arranging for more to come? Please don't feed and serve the demon of hatred among African people. Choose a mature and responsible approach for the sake of the downtrodden, impoverished and despised people of this continent. Help to build good relations between Nigerians and South Africans. Don't drag all South Africans and Nigerians into this matter. It's a matter between this man, the school which trained and certuified that he is qualified, the law and the Ministry of Health.

No one is complaining against all foreign or all Nigerian doctors. The majority are qualified and doing a good job. Remember, many of these foreign doctors are trained here by locals and some foreign professors, including Nigerians.

dont be too fast to conclude that this story is true, especially since we are dealing with a very racist and extremely Nigerians-hating country like south africa.
Have u considered that this doctor might be genuine but is being persecuted because he is a foreigner in a plume Job or he must have fallen out of favor with whoever is in power over there.
U know how much black south africans hate nigerians. It is not therefore far fetched to suggest that the charges might have been trumped up.

NB: This is just a possibility. the lesson is that we should always examine issues from several perspectives.[/quote
The criminal justice system in this country works like a well-oiled machine and without fear or favour. We are not perfect but we cannot be counted among the countries where there is no rule of law. If the man is innocent, let him ask his country's embassy to intervene or get himself a lawyer. Stop poisoning the minds of Nigerians. We don't hate Nigerians. We hate the horrible things that some of them do in this country. If we hated them, we would not fall in love with them, appreciate their music and movies, worship God with them, go to school with them, give them scholarship, allow them to compete with us for jobs, offer free medical care to those who can't afford, etc. Stop serving the interests of backward fiorces which cause conflict between Africans and thrive when Africans are at each other's throats. Lastly, stop defending the indefencible.

They will share their experience and capacity with you and with one voice, you can also expose, isolate and possibly sanctIon governments and individuals who finance BH. You can get some of the advise you need from countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe. Please don't be shy or too arrogant to knock on South Africa's door. They can help. especially on how to deal with the urban guerilla war aspect of your plight and on how to reinforce your military, police and intelligence with the maximum, most reliable and irreplaceable support and participation of the people of your country. South Africa can also support your diplomatic campaign through its diplomatic infrastructure, the second biggest after the USA. Remember or please be aware that your natural allies are the Africans. They share the same continent and culture with you, suffered slavery and colonialism with you, still suffer neocolonialism with you, when Nigerians suffer and die, it's not an academic matter for them. They feel it deep inside. As for quick victories against BH, forget them. It's going to be a protracted war. You're going to have to employ a multiplicity of strategies. Military hardware and soldiers alone won't work.

SA again?

Buhari failed to put an end of this maltreatment against the Nigeria in SA.

Nigerians in SA are not irrelevant to buhari, that's why He don't care about what they are passing through in the hands of the SA.

For goodness sake, please use your brain. Criminals don't care about Davido and his nationality. If he's got money, they want it and will take it by force, if need be. Buhari? Please let him deal with Boko Haram. Don't overburden him with SA crime and your so-called maltreatment of Nigerians by South Africans? Good Nigerians are studying, lecturing, pastoring, managing businesses, etc. Don't spoil their fun. Bad Nigerians are busy selling drugs, robbing people, kiling other people and each other, running brothels and getting arrested. Which Nigerians do you want Buhari to punish South Africa for. How will he do it? Only a police investigation will tell us who commited the crime against Davido. For your information, this kind of robbery is often carried out by international criminal syndicates which include compatriots of the victims. You can easily find that this was an inside job as they sometimes are.
