seankafor:This is very sad. So, you and FFK, your idol, want to go to war with my country? Ignorance will kill both of you. Don't you know you've already won. We've surrendered. Our President has already apologised to your nation even though no Nigerian was killed but 10 South Africans were murdered, starting with the taxi driver who was was shot to death by a Nigerian drug dealer. I can't even talk about the children who are turned into drug addicts or kidnapped and turned into sex slaves or drug mules your SA based criminals. We don't want a war with Nigeria or any country for that matter. Please save your bullets and hatred for Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen. They rape, maim, literally slaughter captured Nigerian civilians and soldiers with daggers to the throat, ike goats and have massacred tens of thousands of Nigerian civilians and soldiers. My people, the South Africans, have never killed or attacked a Nigerian man, woman or child during a spate of violence. Even your diplomats have told you, time without number, that apart from a few that have died in police custody, Nigerian cultists and criminals are killing each other in our country but you prefer to believe unsubstantiated allegations. It's clear that the truth is unpalatable and it hurts. So you'd rather believe fiction instead of facts. 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Why Nigeria Cannot Afford A Stand-Off With South Africa By Kakanda (Al-jazeera) by Miaraka: 10:25pm On Sep 14, 2019 |
You guys appear to be itching for war with my country. You want a stand-off. Why should there be a stand-off? Shouldn't our two countries be consulting on how to deal with the criminality that is inimical to our bilateral relations? You should be asking yourself why a much bigger number, at least 1, ,5 million won't take the offer to go back home. For your information, the majority of Nigerians here are focused on their studies, work, legitimate business, etc. They are quietly doing their thing and don't mix with the wicked and loud ones who are into drug and human trafficking even under age girls and boys (3 upwards). How can you be proud of such nonsense and wish your government could do something horrible to our country.? There's no shortage of evidence against your criminals. Everything is recorded by our police - videos, documents, etc. The day you decide to take this matter to the ICJ or some international tribunal, you'll suffer a lifetime national shock and embarrassment. The South Africans who were involved in the recent violence don't even reach 5000 out of a nation of at least 55m. Are you aware that some foreigners were also involved in the burning and looting? Strange, isn't it? What about the fact that 90% of those arrested don't have a home address? Ofcourse you know nothing about that. You also don't know that there are South Africans who fought and defended foreigners against criminals (at least one of them was arrested by the police because when the mob overpowered him, he decided to use his gun and killed at least one person). Most people don't know and it doesn't make sense. It won't make sense to yo too as long as you remain obsessed with the stupid idea that black South Africans hate other black people. Perhaps the day hear a Nigerian telling you he was mugged by another foreigner and the Nigerian killers of other Nigerians tell you themselves that most of their compatriots who were killed here were actually killed by them, your brain will wake up. |

I'll introduce you to many Nigerian students, experts, business people (not criminals) and other good people who are working hard and doing great things in their chosen field of human endeavour. You will also see that our country is not paradise or heaven but a normal country with problems, challenges and achievements. In addition to that, you'll see that no one will know where you come from unless you tell them or wear something that is distinctly Nigerian. 1 Like |

Jayslicky:Please stop suggesting that all 50 million black South Africans have nothing else to do other than to hunt Nigerians for extrajudicial killing. No Nigerian has ever died during a spate of violance in this country. Even diring the recent spate of violance which was triggered by the murder of a South African taxi driver, no Nigerian was killed. 10 South Africans and 2 Zimbabweans died. Ask the Nigerian Consul General, the Ambassador or any Nigerian who knows what is happening. They will tell you that most Nigerians who die here on a regular basis are killed by Nigerian cultists and criminals. Some, like some locals and other Africans, died in police custody. The Independent Police Investigations Directorate is investigating those cases and some cases are already subjudice (being decided in a court). The case of the late Ms Ndubuisi can't be investigated by the IPID because she didn't die in custody of the police and so far, there's no sign anywhere that they could even have been involved. It's a very rare case that, in my view, will need more than 100 % collaboration of the very best brains and other resources our two countries have at their disposal. |

Empiree:Yes. I'm South African. Not at all insecure. Only saying you're not the only ones who've suffered as a result of the recent violence. We've suffered more. Both in terms of property and lives. If you demand compensation, we can demand more. After all, it is your people who started the violence. Not our people. Our police know how to do their job. This is not the West. Had they not been cautious, we could have lost many more lives, the whole of SA would still be on fire and our government removed from power by the masses. When our people are angry, you can't stop them with teargas and gunfire. The police were very linient for the past 25 years because they were ordered to relax controls for Africans because they supported us during the struggle. After what happened, they'll have to up their game. They'll have to be ruthlessly efficient. |

You really are alarmists and drama queens and kings. No wonder you are failing to wipe out Boko Haram. Every little thing, "They are killing us! Call Buhari, they are killing us!" Your drug dealers kill an innocent taxi driver, thereby causing violence which results in 10 South Africans dead and only 2 foreigners dead. Not even 1 of the dead is Nigerian. You demand compensation for businesses that were looted and got burnt down, something which was triggered by your drug dealing criminals. Are you serious? Will you compensate the South Africans whose businesses also got looted and burnt down? You should compensate your people. We'll compensate our own. You should also compensate us for all the South Africans who died, here or abroad, because of the criminal activities of Nigerians - human trafficking, fraud, murder, tricking school children into drug addiction, forcing other people's children to be prostitutes, etc., etc., |

It's very important for Nigerians and the world not to be misinformed. As of mow, there's no evidence anywhere that anywhere that any of the 7 people who have been killed are Nigerians. The first was allegedly killed by a Nigerian drug dealer. Nigerians drug dealers are saying he's Tanzania. The police have not divulged any information about the murderer. This is one of, if not the most difficult times in hour 25 years as a democracy. Please don't inflame the situation by misinforming people. Our authorities and civil society and faith organisations are busy trying to bring an end to this nightmare which appears to me to be planned by forces which want to overthrow our government and damage our economy. |

Maybe I could also make some money purveying lies about Nigerians. Which Nigerian has ever been burnt alive in SA? What was his name or should I say what were their names? Stop posting photos or videos which have nothing to do with you. Only one foreigner, a Mozambican, was burnt alive. Everybody else who has ever been burnt alive was South African and that was during the struggle against apartheid for being traitors and nowadays for crimes such as rape and murder when the police are not around. Please respect yourselves. Maybe our government should share with the world evidence of the crimes that your cultists and criminals commit in this country, including killing your own people and blaming it on so-called South African xenophobia. |

It's only a South African taxi driver who was shot dead by a foreign drug dealer whose nationality hasn't been revealed to the public. It's the taxi drivers vengeance that has plunged parts of Jo'burg and Pretoria into turmoil. So, rest assured that your cousin didn't die for being Nigerian. Besides, if he was killed by SAs, I know how your countrymen would have loved to announce the cruelty of SAs. Their reluctance to tell you means that it's something they know they cannot pin on SAs, stuff which only Nigerians can do. I wish other Nigerians who are not cultists or criminals could tell the story of their lives in this country. I'm sure they'd telll you that it's not home but it's certainly not hell on earth. slaughteringNG: First of all, please don't involve all South Africans and all Nigerians in this matter. The majority of South Africans and .Nigerians who live in this country are not involved. They"re going about minding thei own business. This is a problem between a few wicked foreign nationals and a few wicked SAs. Other South Africans you see on TV are just curious onlookers or those who've been persuaded or even paid by a few wicked SAs to participate in the looting and burning. This happens even among SAs nowadays because of a serious problem of unemployment and the wickedness of capitalism. If you ask them why they are looting they are likely to tell you that they were paid to do so or give you some stupid reason like "I don't know." There's no stupid bloody "holy war" here. This shameful nonsense was sparked by the killing of a SA taxi driver by a drug dealer whom the taxi drivers say is Nigerian but Nigerian thugs say is Tanzanian. As for the police, they've deliberatly not divulged the nationality of the murderer. Further to that, you need to know that it happened in two very small parts of Johannesburg and Pretoria. I live here in Johannesburg but I couldn't see or hear anything. Imagine being on Victoria Island and people are rioting in a small part of Surulere or Festac. Surely it wouldn't be correct to say that the whole of Nigeria and all Nigerians are involved. When we were in exile, our liberation movement made it clear to us that we had a duty to obey the laws of our host countries and that if we were to be arrested for committing any crime, they would let the law take its course. I'm yet to hear a Nigerian leader say that. You blame the host countries. You don't even acknowledge that your criminals are committing in other countries some of the most horrenders crimes this world has ever known. |

shogsman:There's no Nigerian or other foreign family who's ever been lynched or threatened with such an atrocity. We are not the savages you think we are. A South African taxi driver was shot and killed by a foreign drug dealer last week. About two or three weeks ago, SA policemen were injured by foreign nationals who were armed with rocks and guns. The police retreated without opening fire on the immigrants, thereby averting a tragedy. There's no shortage of evidence to prove that South Africans don't have to do as much before the police kill them. Despite this first class treatment, your countrymen are complaining. Our Minister of Police says that what is happening is criminality and they will deal with it. Already, some looters and other rioters have been arrested. |

There's no such thing. The Nigerian High Commission has not been set ablaze and is not situated in the area that has been shown on youtube. Somebody must stop this nonsense before it's too late. Nigerian brothel owners, fraudsters, kidnapers, drug and human traffickers are doing a good job of whipping up Nigerian national support for their nefarious business. They've taken their criminal expertise to the highest and very dangerous level. These thugs are now using the former apartheid regime's tactics. I'm beginning to think that they could be working with or on the advise of former apartheid regime operatives with a view to damage Nigeria South Africa bilateral relations. This is likely to prompt our security forces to adopt drastic measures which, unfortunately, could affect innocent people. Hitherto, they've been very reserved and acting like ladies and gentlemen, even under extreme provocation. They've even allowed foreign criminals to assault them and this is something that has deeply hurt most South Africans, including myself.. |

White South Africans have to be better than black South Africans because they monopolised almost every available opportunity by force of arms and enormous support from their European and US distant relatives, from 1652 to 1994. You are supposed to do much better than us, black South Africans, in practically every aspect of human endeavour because you've been independent since 1960 and we only received something similar only 25 years ago. We can do much better than you and the white South Africans that you and some of your compatriots love so much,. After all, we fought and defeated what was regarded as one of the most ruthless and powerful regimes the world has ever known. We were poisoned, infected with HIV AIDS, massacred, tortured, etc. Despite all that, we fought ike you can't be expected to imagine. Even our own children find it very difficult to imagine how we succeeded because all the powerful western goverments were against us, training and arming the whites and calling us terrorists. saajus:It doesn't make sense that most of you Nigerians on this platform believe that all South Africans are xenophobic. When a small group of SA taxi drivers riot in response to the killing of their colleague by a drug dealer you accuse them and all of us being xenophobic. What about the Nigeran or Tanzanian killer? Is he also a xenophobe or it's only South Africans who are capable of being xenophobes? When Nigerian criminals and cultists kill other Nigerians, you blame and accuse us of xenophobia. It has been established by our law enforcement authorities that most of the Nigerians who were killed here were killed by their countrymen. Your own diplomats have informed you about this but you keep insisting that they are killed by South Africans. Sorry, Sir but this particular group of your compatriots is out of order. I know normal Nigerians, Igbos and Yorubas, who are like other humans elsewhere in the world. They would never shoot and kill a taxi driver, as alleged, and then threaten, "We'll kill you," when his colleagues protest and end up destroying the property of those they believe are responsible for the death of their colleague and drug use by an increasing number of our youth. They would also not attack our police as they try to stop the taxi drivers from the breaking the law. Why would a normal person antagonise the only people in South Africa who have the legal responsibility and capacity to protect them. In case you're not aware, the taxi drivers have been engaged in an anti drug campaign for several months. They've been focusing their campaign on SA drug users but when they demanded that one of the dealers known to them should stop, he killed their colleague. Nigerians who are threatening to kill South Africans should go back home and fight Boko Haram. Those who want to study, work, engage in legitimate business and other forms and aspects of human endeavour should remain and help us to build this country as they take care of their own personal and family needs. 1 Like 1 Share |

chinjo:Which Nigerians and which South Africans are you talking about? Unrest taking place in Sunnyside, a suburb of our political capital, Pretoria, is between Pretoria mini bus taxi drivers and drug dealers who are mainly from your country and local drug users. It was sparked by the shooting to death of a Pretoria mini bus taxi driver by a foreign drug dealer. Nigerians say he's Tanzanian but witnesses who probably don't know the difference between Nigerians and Tanzanians, say that he's Nigerian. The rest of Pretoria and South Africa is peaceful. For example, I was with Nigerians in the Randburg central business district during the day. They are okay. They didn"t come here to engage in fraud, human and drug trafficking, etc. They're enjoying their stay here. They are students, company executives, researchers, housewives, medical doctors, men and women of God, owners of Nigerian food restaurants, Nigerian foodstuff shops, dressmakers, etc and no one disturbs them. Here, Nigerian businesses are located close to and even at one of the biggest taxi ranks but it's peaceful. Please note that I'm not allerging that all your countrymen who live and do business in Sunnyside are criminals.but rape, murder, drug trafficking in Sunnyside is real and rife there than in other parts of Pretoria. Taxi drivers have been actively fighting drug use among our youth for many months now. There was no unrest and no one was killed. If their colleague hadn't been killed they wouldn't have rioted. This is not xenophobia. If it was xenophobia, all South Africans would refuse to have anything to do with your people. Even patients would refuse to be treated by Nigerian doctors. The word "xenophobia" may make you feel better about your countrymen who're engaged in crime in this country but it won't change the fact that your criminals have denigrated the image of your populous nation here and elsewhere in the world. I hope you're aware of this week's reports about Nigerian criminals in Saudi Arabia and the US. Very sad. The governments and peoples of Nigeria and South Africa should work together to identify and isolate criminals, thereby make it very difficult, if not impossible for them to ply their trade. 5 Likes |

Jaqenhghar:The Nigerian govt thought that if they built another city, namely Abuja, most of the problems of your economic capital, Lagos, (our own is Johannesburg) would be resolved. As you can see, from the time the decision to build Abuja to this day, Lagos problems have increased. The key towards delealing with Lagos problems is to: 1. decongest Lagos by building one or two other port cities for the import and export of goods; 2. diversify your economy and thereby decrease the quantity of goods you import; 3. while you are busy thinking and planning work with regards to points 1 and 2 above, you can designate the import of certain goods to other Nigerian ports and some people and businesses will be encouraged to leave Lagos. Lagos would then be able to breathe and become more manageable. |
