I don't know what's this Nairaland obsession with Kenya.
First and foremost, there's no Shoprite in Kenya. Not a single one. So this story is untrue.
Secondly, most of the weird Kenyan news that are posted here are fake. Some are from other African countries but apparently sell better when labelled kenya.

The ones that are true are sometimes even 5 years old stale news.




I don't believe Kenya has a disproportionate share of weird news. My guess is Kenya's media is more vibrant than most African countries, hence many stories are published. Even the ones that wouldn't necessary make headlines in other countries.
