kindly post pictures of the engine and mileage as requested . I am interested as well. |

One problem is obvious looking at the video. This very skilful Nigerian player, like many others of his kind , is playing in near empty stadia in an obscure league somewhere. It will be extremely difficult for his club career or international career to progress if he remains there |
Well done for being courageous enough to own up and apologise. This should be a lesson to all. In this era of smartphones and social media, a rumour can spread worldwide within minutes. Even before the social media explosion, it did not require much to spread a rumor across Nigeria. The rumors that followed the Nigeria vs Italy World Cup match in 1994 are a classic example. This morning alone, I have received calls from Abuja, PH and Makurdi about this issue of bathing with salt water. To say the least, this is a dangerous thing to do. |
2015 on their mind. The Ekiti election has brought everyone down to earth. I am surprised it took this long for students and lecturers to effectively fight against this policy. |
Its a pity that people can stoop so low as to dupe innocent job seekers. The number of these agencies increases everyday. Some of them promise overseas scholarships and job placements |
wahala. These guys are really nuts. May almighty God help us. |
Very lively thread. I have my issues with this government but I must say that I really support this new policy though evidently, there are some flaws. One thing most people seem to ignore is that while the tariff on FBU's have been raised, the tariff on CKD's ie completely knocked down parts have been reduced to almost zero. This is sure to encourage assembly plants to spring up and Nissan is already making plans to revive the VON plant in Badagary. The increased tariff is also likely to open the market for Innosons who will increase his capacity and probably go into Sedan/Saloon production. Though I have not driven any of the Innosons models, I have seen the small bus, pick-ups and SUV's on several road trips and they certainly look cool. You would have to look at them really close to know they are not Japanese or European models. Now, setting up a car assembly plant is capital intensive and to recover costs quickly, a significant number of cars will have to be produced and sold quickly. I believe this will spur the banks to partner with the auto companies to provide financing. Don't forget that assembling these cars in Nigeria will reduce the price of brand new cars significantly and create many direct and indirect jobs. The other thing nobody has mentioned is the role of the steel industry. WEMCO STEEL rolling mill was recently commissioned in S/west Nigeria while Ajaokuta and perhaps Delta steel are being revived. These companies will have to increase capacity to supply steel required for car assembly thus creating more jobs and strengthening the economy. As has been pointed out, electricity supply is crucial and I believe that with the privatization process we should get it right this year. It is vital for government to support the local assembly plants esp Innosons. For example, Innosons pick -ups would make great patrol vans and should be procured in large numbers for the Nigerian Police. If it is true that Coscharis got waivers or abused its insider knowledge, this could seriously undermine the whole policy. Our borders need to be seriously strengthened or else Cotonou will be the biggest beneficiary of this policy. All in all, I think we should support this policy because in the long run we stand to gain massively. If we don't do this now, as someone said we could soon see ourselves importing cars from Ghana |
How much does the Innoson SUV COST PLS? |
This is really great. I visited the Innosons plastics factory in Enugu recently and was really impressed. I also saw about 5 Innoson pick up vehicles in a convoy on Abuja Lokoja road few days ago. I must confess that it was only when I saw them up close that I noticed they were Innoson models. Other than that they loooked , drove and sounded like any foreign model. I believe the FG is trying to support Innosons with the new automotive policy and I think we all should embrace it. If we all patronise Innosons, you can imagine the number of unemployed and under employed engineers that will become gainfully employed. Don't forget that the govt is also making reasonable efforts to revitalise the steel industry e.g . WEMCO . This will help supply the steel needed for car assembly the demand for which is sure to increase following the new automotive policy. The spin off will be the direct and indirect creation of more jobs |
She should not deceive herself, he will only change for the worse. I know 2 ladies who had to run from their matrimonial homes following frequent beatings from their husbands. In both cases the beatings had started during courtship and both ladies felt the men would change after marriage. A word is enough for the wise. |
Pls can anyone tell me how to move a video from you tube to my nairaland post? |
Nigerian born footballer Sam Sodje has been linked to match fixing in the UK. He was secretly filmed by reporters of the Sunday Sun while admitting he had received a payment of 70000 pounds to collect a red card in a match. He was subsequently fined just 10000 pounds. Sam Sodje and his brother Efe have both been capped by Nigeria. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=0SI7WkbepOI |
Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla and Arteta were below par today. The result is a bit disappointing but kudos to Everton. I am hoping for a good reaction against Napoli, Man City and Chelsea. |

Hi . I need a 2010 Toyota Rav4limited, 4 cylinders, clean title or minimal damage. Do you have anything like this presently? |
I don't understand how INEC cannot effectively organize an election in ONE state. This is embarrassing to say the least |
It will surely be interesting seeing our Super Eagles against Italy on monday. |
As the euphoria of a 4th U17 World Cup win by the Golden Eaglets dies down, I ask soccer loving Nigerians to compare all four trophy winning teams. I vaguely remember the 1985 team led by Nduka Ugbade with Jonathan Akpoborie in the team. Their triumph was totally unexpected from both within and outside Nigeria. I was too young to appreciate the matches then but I remember the FIFA technical team describing the Nigerian team as playing a 'robust brand of aggressive attacking football.' This was especially evident in the final against W/Germany whic Nigeria won 2-0.The team was coached by Sebastian Brodericks. Only few players graduated to play for the S/Eagles [Ugbade and Akpoborie inclusive] with varying degrees of success. Coach Brodericks took two other teams to the U17 World Cup. He never coached the S/Eagles The Japan '93 team was coached by Fanny Amun and led by Wilson Oruma with Nwankwo Kanu as the Star of the team. The team posted very impressive results in the build up to the World Cup including a 5-1 demolition of Algeria away from home.. Right from the beginning of the World Cup, most Nigerians expected the team to win the trophy and we were not disappointed. Before the final against Ghana , Kanu and Oruma were tied on 5 goals each and were in contention for the golden boot. Oruma scored the first goal on the way to a hard fought 2-0 win and clinched the golden boot. Many of these went on to play for the gold winning Atlanta 96 team as well as the S/Eagles . Notable players in this team include Kanu, Oruma, Celestine Babayaro,Karibe Ojigwe Mobi Oparaku and Peter Anosike . Fanny Amun went on to coach the national u20 team and much later was an assistant to Chief Onigbinde of the Super Eagles team to World Cup 2002. The Korea 2007 team was coached by the late Yemi Tella and led by Haruna Lukman with Chrisantus Macauley as the lynchpin. After winning the African title, much was expected from the team and they went on to win the title by pipping a talented Spanish team in the final on penalties. Spain featured the deadly Bojan Krcic [formerly of Barcelona]. The midfield combination of Lukman and Rabiu Ibrahim was quite memorable as was the precise finishing of Macauley Golden boot winner]. Lukman and to a lesser extent Ibrahim have made appearnces from the S/Eagles. Nigeria's all conquering 2013 team was coached by Manu Garba and led by Abubakar Mohammed. The star of the tournament is undoubtedly Kelechi Iheanacho [golden ball and silver boot]. The triumph of this side is remarkable given that it lost its best player early in the tournment- Isaac Success. Leading up to the tournament there were a lot of fears regarding the team's defence but it showed great resilience by not conceding a single goal during the knockout phase. The trademark goal celebrations [copied from Daniel Bryan WWE] got the crowds going and will long be remembered. It will be interesting to see how many of these boys break into the senior national teams and contribute to our future successes. Based on subsequent impact in the senior cadre, I think the Japan 93 team is the best but based on team spiririt and collective play the 2013 team gets it. What do you guys think? |
I have wanted to talk about this for a while. OP is very much on point. As stated, even smaller African countries have much better airports. Just returned from Ivory coast few days ago and the fact is you cannot compare MMIA with the Felix Houphoet Boigny Airport in Abidjan . I recall what happened when we arrived on Sunday. We were waiting to receive our checked in luggage and we kept running from one conveyor belt to the other in the heat. This was simply because there was no sign /notice stating which conveyor belt was conveying luggage for which airline. It was very shameful and a colleague took time to lambast the airport officials present. As for comparing the campus of the Felix Houphoet Boigny University to any in Nigeria.......... I leave that for another thread. Lest I forget, trolleys are free in the Abidjan airport. |
Well done Ikenna. I really appreciate this. I was supposed to go there today but couldn't make it. It's like the Peugeot brands have very good fuel economy. 5.5 L/ 100km sounds like a very good deal to me. |
This road has been rehabilitated? It must be Aba made.....lol! |
Please, where is the road? I have studied all the pictures and yet cannot see anything that looks like a road there? |
