So why did God later say the disobedience was bad and punished Adam since Adam did not even know that disobedience was bad?

You see, that's why it's called figurative expression. It means it's not literal. The whole Bible is centred on Christ. However, in the old testament Christ was represented in typology. You will see Christ in so many figurative expressions in the old testament. In the case of Adam in Eden he had the choice of taking Eternal life in form of the tree of life but he choose to know what is good and bad which is just like the law of Moses.

The thing is like of parable used to teach. And all these events were documented to be used for teaching today.

Now there's a similitude today. There's the option of the law and the option of Christ. The Jews choose the law. Many Christians (the legalistic) believe you need Christ and the law. But you have to choose one. Adam chose the law (symbolically).

You've been so particularly interested in what the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil represents and didn't ask about the tree of Life. Do you agree about the tree of life?

While your line of questions seems to be trying to draw someone to a particular objective of interest to you which I don't understand, your line of questioning is not clear to me either. Looks like you are trying to feed words to me. I didn't talk about Adam and Eve being ignorant or knowledgeable of a law. They had multiple options of fruit trees to eat from. Two particular trees were of great significance and were named accordingly. They didn't choose to eat the tree of life. They instead ate the one they were warned not to by following advice of the serpent (the devil).

This is synonymous with what is happening today. Many Christians prefer to work the law with the hope of pleasing God to earn salvation instead of relying on the finished work of Christ.

Now I've brought another angle that will offend the legalistic religious people. However that's a subject I won't be able to do justice to on a back and forth nairaland conversation. Don't bother focusing on that. We don't want to derail the thread which is about the story of the Garden of Eden (Figurative or Literal).

If Adam and Eve been aware of the mosaic law was a sin, why did God give the isrealites the mosaic law? Would it not have meant that God was encouraging sin?
