Are you saying that the term Trinity does not teach that Jesus is equal to God?
A simple research on trinity can answer that question.

None of us are equal in hierarchy to the one above us, but we are in the hierarchy. Angels are too.

In my culture if a king send his messenger to anyone and give his messenger his staff of authority to go with, the receiver of the message, on sighting the king staff will accord the messenger full respect as his will accord the king. But the Trinity teaches that Jesus and the Father are inseparable and equal. So what explanation do we give to that?

If we say they are separate, then it would be against the Trinity doctrine that teaches that Jesus and the father are inseparable.

Does not contradict, If Jesus decided to lower himself, even lower than the angels. Same Jesus allowed John the Baptist to baptize him, to fulfill the will of God. Notice Jesus always lowers himself since its needed to do so, in order to fulfill the will of God.

So are you saying that Jesus and father are separate?

The bible also says, God spoke, Inspiring his truth through David. when David said, the Lord said to my Lord, sit until i make your enemies your foot-stool. Jesus spoke to the Jews, about this passage, they did not understand that the Lord who sits is Jesus, who was standing in front of them. After the ascension of Jesus, he sat at the right hand of the Father, and the father oversees the events of time, and all things are working according to his plan.

Therefore the Father has a greater office than Jesus, but Jesus is equal to God the father, he could do anything God can do.

There is a passage in the bible that explains it a bit, let me paste it.

So if he is equal to God, How can God be greater than him? I think it sounds contradictory.

It could mean the Father has greater authority, for instance in matters concerning the events of time. The father over-rules which is still in Unity wit the Son and the Spirit.

For Christ is the head of the church, and we are subject to the Lord and the Lord is subject t the father. God will is perfect.

But the Trinity doctrine does not accept your explanation. The Trinity doctrine teaches that Jesus is inseparable and equal to God.

Stated differently, God is one in ESSENCE and three in person.

Let me explain the Trinity in a simple way..
There is God, the father, From him came forth his WORD, and his SPIRIT..

His word is not separate from him, making his word a part of him, that same word became flesh in his son Jesus Christ, and walked on earth.
God's word is also God himself, meaning that Jesus is God himself.

The Spirit of God is also not separate from God, his holy Spirit is not in human form but an unseen being that bears witness of God..
God's Spirit is also God..

Just the way you cannot separate ingredients from soup, the same way you cannot separate the Trinity of God.. Its that simple yet complicated for most people..

From here we can see the Trinity at work.

The first was God who created the heavens and earth....The Father

The next is the spirit of God moving over the waters....The Holy Spirit.

And finally the son who the Bible describes as the word of God....Jesus.


Another definition of Trinity is

Matthew 3:16-17

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

From here we see Jesus...The son being baptized.

Then the spirit of God descending like a dove landing on Jesus... The Holy Spirit.

And a voice from heaven speaking...God the Father.

This is how I was thought the Trinity in Sunday school...we were told that before anything can be regarded as a doctrine it must be proven in the old and new testament, and Jesus must confirm it. We've seen where Jesus told his disciples that if you have seen the father you have seen me. And he also promised them the comforter which is the Holy Spirit.

This is why I believe it's safe to say that God is Trinity.

But how can you explain John 14:28.
