https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=270135706365473&_rdr The Ondo state Government has directed the immediate massive recruitment of 2,000 teachers into its teaching service. Briefing newsmen on the development on Tuesday, the State’s Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade said the Governor Olusegun Mimiko has directed the state’s Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) to begin the recruitment exercise in earnest. The exercise, according to the Commissioner, is part of government’s efforts to create more gainful employment and improve the standard of education in the state. Giving details of the exercise, Akinmade said 1,300 University graduates with Teaching education qualification will be employed. He added that 200 National Certificate of Education (NCE) graduates holders and 500 Non-teaching staff will also benefit from the exercise. The Commissioner said Applications Forms are to be obtained online by applicants for free, vide TESCOM website, ( www.ondotescom.org ). Akinmade noted further that quality control system will be adopted in the employment process. This according to him, will include computer based test (CBT), with General Paper, Core subjects and use of English as parameters, adding that qualified candidates will be interviewed by TESCOM which has also been saddled with the responsibility of final selection to be followed by one week induction course by successful candidates. The government says the recruitment drive is to strengthen the educational sector at the secondary school level as it moves ahead to create a world class standard. Besides, the measure will provide jobs for the burgeoning population of unemployed youths in the state. Though the state government had since 2009 carried out teaching employment on the basis of consequential vacancies, it however said it embarked on this massive recruitment to mop up youths from the unemployment market, empower, as well as give them a future and a hope. The present administration has since inception carried out a number of educational policy at all levels of education in the state from the primary to the tertiary, one of the recent being the heart warming free school bus shuttle which has not only provided succour for both parents and students but has also gone a long way in improving school attendance with the incidence of absenteeism and lateness checkmated. With this new recruitment of 2000 teachers in one fell swoop, government says it has further demonstrated its determination to further raise the standard of education in the state having benchmarked primary education with the establishment of the first of its kind Mega schools, provision of Science and teaching equipment, conducive learning environment as well as highly motivated teachers. It will be recalled that the state’s tertiary institutions, the Ondo State Rufus Giwa Polythechnic, the Ondo state’s owned Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, Akoko were adjudged the best state owned tertiary institutions in their different categories in Nigeria by the Transparency International Standard organisation in the United States of America. The Ondo state government is prioritizing education at this time even against all odds in its believe that education empowerment of its citizenry is the number one antidote against poverty and in-equal distribution of wealth as well as the vision to achieve an egalitarian society. |
That's the official news passed around,so is left to the committee incharge |
"An American doctor says, "Medicine in my country is so advanced that we can take a kidney out of one man, put it in another and have him looking for work in six weeks!" A British doctor says, "That is nothing, we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another and have him looking for work in four weeks!" A Canadian doctor says, "In my country, medicine is so advanced that we can take half a heart out of one person, put it in another and have them both looking for work in two weeks." A Nigerian doctor, not to be outdone, says, "You guys are way behind. We just took a man with no brain, made him President and now the whole country is looking for work! Lmao!"No be me talk am! |

Some of us who are following the National Conference with keen interest can only laugh at hypocrisies of the so-called Northern Delegates. They rejected state police, yet they cried they were not protected from Boko Haram onslaught. They rejected resource control, yet they complain of dwindling resources from the Federal Government. They are against increment in derivation policy, yet they want 5% of the total revenue for rehabilitation of North East states. They reject demands from others but want all of their demands to be met. They ask what is wrong with existing status quo. They wanted to know what is wrong with niger delta contributing 63% to our national revenue, South West contributing 23% and South East 8% and the entire North contributed 6%, yet 54% of the revenue goes to the North that contributed 6% of the revenue. They wanted to know what is wrong with having over 10 million children on the street as Al- majiri that eventually metamorphosed into nuisance of streets of Lagos or terrorists on in Chibok. They wanted to know what is wrong with the level of religious intolerance in the core north while all over the south of Nigeria, people practice the religion of their choices without hindrances. But one thing should be clear to them, they can argue about onshore-offshore dichotomy as long as they like, Nigeria is awake. We are no longer going to allow a section of the country drag us back. If they like, they should bomb from Maiduguri to Kafancha, meaningful development will continue to go from Uyo to Abeokuta. While they are busy issuing ultimatum on the Chibok abduction, we will continue to issue ultimatum on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. They should continue to call Jonathan names for not stopping female suicide bombers, we will continue to call him names for not providing electric train from Lagos to Port Harcourt. At the end when the oil from Niger Delta cease we will know who has been fools all these years. |
