Politics / Re: Five Top Fastest Developing States In Nigeria That Are Undisputable by Michdear(f): 8:59pm On Mar 17, 2015
anitabeauty:
i totally agree with the op with little corrections here and there; below are undoubtedly the fastest developing states in nigeria based on the following basis: industrialization(employment generation), overall infrastructural development(state-wide), educational facilities and performance, health facilities etc.

1 Ogun
2 Anambra
3 Akwaibom
4 kano
5 Oyo
6 Abia (though the governor failed on the overall infrastructural development)
I do agree with this list too,anambra should definately come b4 aks in terms of industrialization,still wondering why enugu should be there,enugu capital city is the only developed area,how many lgs do we have within the city? Please to further more,we all know kano and oyo are commercialised and big city right from time,abia would have been competing with anambra if only they have a brilliant gov,I just hope akwa ibom state projects over the years will bring in commercialization and industrialization.

kettykin:

Ogun might be industrially developed but as per all round development I give it to Akwa Ibom and Enugu, Akwaibom boasts of super infrastructure not found in any other state in nigeria.
Enugu ideally is what development should be very little pollution from factories, developed citywide terrain, hotels shopping malls, excellent network of roads, high igr, etc I don't think any estate in Ogun reaches that of Enugu.
you don't think any estate in ogun reach that of enugu? Please don't say that again bro,in terms of estate ,ogun is far far beyond enugu,only lagos,abuja probanly ph can compete,ogun is fat developing don't just compare other states ,I agreed akwa ibom is doing fine in infracstructure,enugu city is the only one growing not the whole enugu state.

Philadelphia:
From my own observations, I have noticed that the predominance of cars in Nigeria varies from one state to another. These are some of my observations as regards to cars predominance by states in Nigeria:
Abia - Mercedes-Benz
Anambra - Peugeot
Bayelsa - Mazda
Delta - Toyota (especially camry, corolla and Venza) and Honda (Accord and crosstour)
Edo - Mercedes-Benz (especially C-class trim : w202 C180)
Kaduna -Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot
Lagos - Toyota and Honda
Ogun - Nissan (especially the old primera)
Ondo - Nissan (especially the old primera)

These are my observations. Please add yours cool
now u are so wrong @ philadephia ,most civil servants and middle class man in ondo use toyota even most taxis in ondo are golf 1234 then nissan primera,ondo deals with toyota.

Crime / Mommy Blogger Found Guilty Of Poisoning Son To Death by Michdear(f): 10:49am On Mar 03, 2015
A heartless Westchester mother was convicted of murder on
Monday after she slowly poisoned her young son with salt
while she blogged that he was falling ill from natural causes.
Lacey Spears, 27, faces life in prison for what Westchester
District Attorney Janet DiFiore called 5-year-old Garnett’s
“tortured death.”
“Throughout his five years, Garnett Spears was forced to
suffer through repeated hospitalizations, unneeded surgical
procedures and ultimately poisoning with salt, all at the hands
of the one person who should have been his ultimate
protector: his mother,” said District Attorney Janet DiFiore in
a press release.
A straight-faced Spears showed little emotion as the verdict
was read while her father and sister held each other in court.
They refused to comment.
Garnett’s father, Chris Hill, told The Post that his former
flame’s “heartless and emotionless” reaction proves that the
jury made the right decision.
“She’s sick and needs to stay locked up for the rest of her
short life,” Hill said. “I hope they don’t give her special
treatment and don’t put her in solitary. She needs to be put in
the general population so she has to fear for her miserable life
every day.”
Throughout the trial, prosecutors argued that the “calculated
child killer” made up young Garnett’s sickness, which she
documented on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and her own
personal blog.
They said Spears used her blue-eyed boy’s feeding tube to
force salt into his stomach, which led to a swollen brain,
seizures and eventually his death.
In her posts, Spears detailed Garnett’s various health
problems that caused him to be unable to eat food or gain
weight. He had a feeding tube in his abdomen following an
illness he had as a newborn, which Spears said resulted in 23
visits to the hospital before he turned 1.
Hospitals were one of the only constants in Garnett’s life —
as Spears brought him from Florida to Rockland County to
join a fellowship community about a year before he died.
Garnett died at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital on Jan. 23,
2014, four days after he was admitted and doctors discovered
his skyrocketing salt levels.
“It is still a mystery as to what caused Garnett’s death,”
Spears’ lawyer, Stephen Riebling, said in court Monday.
He added that he was “disappointed” with the verdict and
plans to appeal the case.
But DiFiore said she is “confident the conviction will be
upheld.”
A former friend who knew Spears in her hometown of
Decatur, Alabama told The Post that she’s kept up with the
trial online.
“I’m happy we got justice for Garnett, but I’m sad because we
lost a little boy that shouldn’t have died,” Shawna Lynch said.
While it was not brought up in the trial, doctors have
speculated that Spears has a rare psychological syndrome,
Munchausen by proxy. It causes a parent to intentionally
harm their child for attention.
She is due back in court April 8 for her sentencing.

Saw this on one of the APC chieftain facebook wall and a lecturer at lagos state university,what do you guys think about this? 1. Will provide 1 meal a day for children in public
primary schools. This will create several hundreds of
thousands of jobs in Agriculture, Catering, and Delivery
Services;
2. Boom in Agriculture-Sector jobs in the “just farm,
government buys scheme!” The APC government will
guarantee a minimum price for all cash crops and
facilitate storage of agricultural products to overcome
seasonal shortages of selected food crops;
3. Generate millions of jobs in construction industry by
creating at least 4 million new homeowners by 2019.
APC Government will-
• Establish a national mortgage at less than 10%
interest rate for purchase of owner-occupier houses;
• Review the collateral qualification to make funding
for home ownership easier, with a 15 to 30 year
mortgage term;
• Move our banking from a short-term to long-term
view to sustain the economy;
4. After NYSC, graduates will be paid stipends for 1
year under a vocational scheme where they are trained
on entrepreneurial and work-readiness;
5. Increase jobs for medical professionals by giving
every Nigerian family access to a hospital. APC
Government will provide universal basic health care
with N500 annual contribution per family in the
National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). APC
Government pays the balance;
6. In different phases over 4 years, APC will make
monthly direct cash transfer of NGN5,000 to the 25
million poorest and most vulnerable citizens, if they
immunize children and enrol them in school;
7. All around the country, will provide Internet and
electricity enabled Technology/Industrial/Outsourcing
parks for small/medium businesses and young
entrepreneurs. Carry on effect will create hundreds of
thousands of new jobs;
8. Generate, transmit and distribute electricity on a
24/7 basis whilst simultaneously ensuring the
development of sustainable/renewable energy, by
2019;
9. Embark on a National Infrastructural Development
Programme as a Public Private Partnership that will (a)
ensure 5,000km of Superhighway including service
trunks and (b) building of up to 6,800km of modern
railway completed by 2019; (c) build commercial
airports in all 36 states;
10. Within the first year, employ 740,000 (20,000 per
state + FCT) young graduates in immediate
Employment and Empowerment scheme;
