What I denounce is ongoing bullying of any kind. After all what we all clamour for is a change to eradicate this bad behaviour only sane folks frown at .

Because you'd be surprised to see grown up a ss folks here bully to arouse their ego and you know bullying goes beyond institutions only, there's online bullying too.

Sweetlemon: As you can see, I tackled the issue from the root of the problem.
See, most rapists, serial killers, etc were once bullies in school. Some of them were victims of bullying and so turned out bitter due to all the mental, physical, and emotional abuse they suffered while growing up.
Let it be noted that some school bullies become like that due to parental influence. Some of them are from broken homes or are experiencing physical abuse or they watch their dad abuse their mum.
That's why I'm tracing everything to the home and tackling it from there.
However, having said that, children should be taught how to defend and speak up for themselves. Having a healthy self esteem is the best form of defence so we must teach children to love themselves. But in extreme cases, they should be taken far away from places or people who are physically or mentally abusing them.

That's the excuse they always give. Pathetic! So shoving kids into walls, punching their teeth out, mocking them in front of their mates, calling them derogatory names are all because you need a friend? No, you're just an arsehole!

So I was trying to tell the the guy I'm replying, what I would have done to the kid back then, from a bully's perspective so to speak.

Too bad your constipated brain couldn't comprehend the point I'm trying to make.

Frostyzone: Don't be so sure. As an ex bully myself(something that I'm not very proud of) that retaliation would only piss me off.

Oh yes, I would back off a little, but only to give him a false sense of security, and then I will pounce when he's at his most vulnerable.

Frostyzone: 1.Get one or two friends to always walk with you. Whenever the bully sees you with someone they almost always back off.


2.Never show fear when confronted with one. Bullies feed off of fears, and they will do everything to scare you. But once they realized you are not afraid them, they almost always back off.

3. Never fight back. Fighting back just
satisfies a bully and it's dangerous, too, because someone could get hurt. You're also likely to get in trouble.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Sweetlemon: This is why parents should always endeavour to be close to their kids. These things happen everywhere in the world so it's not about racism.
Parents, please and please be your children's best friends. Get close to them, let them feel comfy enough to tell you things. Because that's the only way they can tell you things like this.
If you do a research, it will shock you to your marrow the number of kids going through all kinds of things ranging from sexual abuse to mental torture to bullying. It will even be more shocking to find out that your happy-looking, playful son is being abused by a g.ay neighbour or being mercilessly bullied by his high school seniors or that your lively daughter is suffering abuse from her teacher in school and/or struggling with severe self-esteem issues.
Parents of extremely attractive kids should watch their kids even more closely (both boys and girls) they are more prone to sexual abuse from adults and bully from jealous peers.
These vices are extremely dangerous to a child's psychological make-up while he/she is growing up. That's why we have a lot of bitter adults around these days. Some adults are so badly affected by all these that they become prostitutes, porn stars, tatto/piercing extremists, robbers, serial killers, rapists, extreme bullies, etc
Most Nigerian parents prefer to be feared than to be loved. Your kids cannot and will not tell you stuff like this if they fear you. Please get close to them now. Tomorrow may be too late

mbhs139: Never knew people could be this responsive to this kind of news. It really excites me to see people's reaction on this issue. I've been at the vanguard of safe school through my initiative 'where we learn'. It is actually on emotional safety in schools.

Recently, the Lagos State Safety Commission held a conference on school safety, I attended, but what they talked about at the conference was all about the removal of physical safety in schools. They failed to take note of the fact that as schools strive to achieve the specific behaviors typical of an emotionally safe school, they will no doubt see improvements in the culture of the school, as well as in the performance, commitment, behavior, and interactions that occur within its walls. Likewise, as schools increase the agreement with each of the elements of a positive school climate, they can expect a reduction of stress commonly associated with failure, rebelliousness, disruptiveness, and passive student behavior such as bullying.

All learners want to be safe and happy, supported, cared for, valued, appropriately challenged and engaged in ways that touch our hearts as well as our minds. When school members feel safe, valued, cared for, engaged and respected, learning measurably increases, and staff satisfaction and retention are enhanced.

A growing body of empirical research shows that a positive school climate reduces dropouts and fosters youth development and academic achievement, as well as the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for students to be responsible and productive members of a democratic society.

It may also interest you as a reader to note that students cannot learn well and are not likely to behave well in difficult school environments. Indeed, research based evidence continues to demonstrate this critical connection (Where We Learn, Perkins, 2006).

Unfortunately, however, the recent increased pressure to improve students' academic performance because of their not too impressive performance in WAEC and NECO exams over the years has led many to feel that they do not have time to address anything but academic instruction.

That would appear to be a direct approach, but because relationships are so important to learning, strengthening instruction in a difficult school climate generally does not improve academic outcomes (ibid). It is only a safe and trusted school environment that can give students the security and encouragement they need to achieve academically.

None so far has condemned the murderous MIL and her actions in the strongest possible terms but would rather the husband thrown in the arena with the best gladiator from the House of Batiatus.
