All those single/unmarried nollywood celebrating 38 and 40 with no marriage and pikin would be like " how i wish"... It's never too late ooo, money and fame is not everything ooo... Children are beautiful things that means more than all the money in this world Omoni keep rocking! You suffered to achieve this... May god spare them for you and make them bigger! (Ameen) |
HBD Funke! God bless You as u ages On. But sometimes, when i looked @ some of these old celebrities, i feel concern, yet some nairaland girls would come here and yab people if you just a word... Anyway, much as i don't care....... But i would not stop saying the truth, the rate at which fame and celebrity is rubbing off marriage from our female stars is not funny at all? it's more worrisome when such actress has no "child" of hers at such age of late 30. Yes we know, marriage is not for everybody as nairaland girls would always want us to believe, is having children also not for everybody...What is this life all about gather all the riches and fame in this world? without a child na your family go dey enjoy the money, hence they would not tell u the truth..After 10years, the likes of Rita dominic, Agbani darego and funke would see the reality of life..... When they starts seeing their colleague's children graduating from colleague.. What's wrong with taking a break from acting, leave the country and go organize ur life, the likes. Mercy Johnson and Opeyemi aiyeola are living witness today. It's a good decision to make. What is also wrong in having a side guy, bleep u and get pregnant even if he is junior colleague? the likes of Omowunmi and kaffy are good examples... At this junction, marriage is less important to these women, getting a kid should be the utmost priority, except if they have come to this world to get fame nd work for family remain. Once Again, Happy Birth to Miss Akindele. Heaven would smile on you soon... |
EmagNig:As in Renovation! See, that first room by the left is vacant oooo........Go and start ur life there.. |
firstEVA:smile! Now have done that. |
Cutehector:The writeup is targeted mainly at the women folk, men can choose to marry at anytime... Just taking a cursory look at the lay down rules, belief and certain principles some girls do lay down for themselves, thinking things would fall in place but sometimes not as they wish. |
raayah:It's not stereotype, it's to serve as lesson to those coming behind to follow. |
Marriage is a beautiful institution ordained by God. It was not man's idea. It was not created by man. Rather, the all knowing God, in kindness, made man and woman and joined them together as husband and wife. Due to it's beautiful nature and basis on which the institution is premised ( Especially when a man or woman found his or her soulmate, then it becomes an Heaven on on earth, Particularly in problem filled Naija. lolz). Many young guys and girls dream about it, they witness beautiful marriage ceremonies of uncles and cousins, Nikkah solemnization of aunties and acquaintances and can't but wish themselves same good thing. While Men's marriageable age seems not to bring any fuss, the women folks are not so lucky. May be God himself knows about it when he gives the women what is called "the biological clock" that is thinking away with time". The concept or term called "Menopause" has not stopped to generate so much medical fear, as modern science via fertility keeps telling us women ability to conceive reduces as age goes up, thus by 35, women ability to conceive becomes relatively slim. Who does not want a baby of her's?? Almost no one. Two (2) problems that have noticed to always stand against women's marriage and directs them uncontrollably are (i) The girl's themselves and (ii) The Parents (I) The first one is the girl herself, many girls have set a certain "Age" for marriage as if their life is own by them. At 18, they feel there is so much to enjoy in life than being tie down by a man and producing babies. The look at their friends and use to judge, forgetting that it's all man for himself, a reason why they send away intending suitors that comes when they are still "hot and pecky". Many are carried away by the "campus" fun fare, the fairy tale of an handsome, gorgeous, godfearing, rich and caring man, that awaits them after graduation.Lolz! As if such man exist, there is no such complete man my dear, adjustability and adaptability is the key. Funny, before many realise it, time has really gone and all what remains of a once gorgeous and futuristic lady, is "bubus" or "left over" of Campus boyfriends who have left them to chase money and comes back for younger girls, C.E.O's and bosses who are already married and needed a side chicks to chyke and pays off. Sadly, she begins to chase career as the only source of joy at 30, by 32 she realised time has completely gone and would start calling boys and men all sort of names. Like guys are wicked, kill a guy before a snake..Forgetting how she mocked a classmate of her that got married at 20, saying she ain't matured... Now the time has spoken. (II) Parents are another factor that stands on the way of many young girls, they compare their life with hers and wants things just the way they want it to be. Also forgetting the philosophy of destiny and concept of individuality (theory of ori). What works for you may not work for me. To me, parents have not also helped their girl child in dictating the choice of spouse. It has constitutes considerably a greater influence to the high rate of divorce we see today, except if we want to be costly with the truth. I have seen a Muslim female friend, who took a guy of the same religion home, but the parent says they don't like the guy's profession (A police officer). The girl obeyed, cut off the relationship, brazed and opened up for another. She luckly got another guy who had all what she wanted in a man, she was feeling lucky and always telling me so many sweet things about this guy. Many a time, she had put a call across to me to speak to this new found guy, we have talked at length and Heaven knows that, this guys is so cool and eternally mature. I pray secretly for her, being a sister until she went home again and the dad said Another NO "The guy is from a tribe" that their town hates so much... She cried so bitterly, and by now i just have to tell her "All is well". She threaten to take her life but the mother pleaded with her to try one more time. And finally for the 3rd time, took another guy home but of different religion. Now the dad says no, the mum says no and the siblings said she bleeped up. Lol! I just pity her...knowingly fully that she is on another round of ill-fated husband whala, she got pregnant for the 3rd guy and leaves the parent.. But deed down, inside me, i know she loves the 2nd guy so much that she never stops talking about him. Thank god, she told me she loves the present guy as well, may be it could have been a marriage borne out of distress. Hmn! Life is indeed not fair but our parents have made it sometime more unfair. meforyou1:Good you ask, modakeke came to settle on Ife's farm long after that. They are settlers from a war affected oyo town. See this, according to wikipedia. With the fall of theOyo Empireto theFulani, theYorubakingdom was thrown into confusion and the inhabitants of the Old Oyo were dispersed and started new settlements all around Yoruba land.Fleeing southwards in search of new abodes after the fall of the Oyo Empire, the Oyos started settling among the Ifes in 1834. As the Romans of old, they were soldier-farmers. They were hardy assoldiers and industrious as farmers. Having lost alltheir possessions in their hasty flight, they started life in Ife by doing menial jobs to enable them eke out a living. The reigning Ooni of Ife, Oba Akinmoyero was said to have received them well. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modakeke?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C7989291604 |

darkjorse:tell them, i wonder if many youth of today reads news at all? funny enough, an ignorant leadership writer also includes "first black african"................ i remember was all over the news then, infact Veteran broadcaster Eugenia ABU reported the story and brought the girl "Stella Felix" to NTA Studio, the girl i later learnt went ahead to study Engineering at OAU. Poor Reportage Everywhere. |

Diesel1:It's not a matter of wanna, accusations in the court of law are backed up with requisite claims and evidences, the absence of that makes it null and void... Once again, speak no evil of people! another person can do same to you.... false accusations everywhere. Last 2 weeks some fake tabloids listed Hon. Dabiri's name as the owner of a certain bank, it went virals... many people cursing her, she came out to say she was wrongly accussed... but people like u would never believe her... weeks later, diamond bank came out to apologize saying it was a mix up somewhere... I am well grounded in ethics of mass communication and i know what to do when i get a news? what do know about fact checking, fact finding! did u not get ur abobaku story from twitter? did u find time to read about history of ife and if they ever install any one as abobaku prior to that time? did u even take time to know what abobaku truly means, where it started from and where it is been practicised. Am sure you have no time to do all that, but good at jumping up and beating the drum of hypocrisy over an unfound social noise.......... i wish u well bro. |
Diesel1:and is ur name better either? ghana boi! who told u dey burried anybody with their father? you are one of those people that started calling a girl that died weeks ago with blood, a prostitute only to be told later that she has been sick for weeks and coming from an ICAN CLASS. You sit in ur father's and always believe the nonsense u see on social media, i pray u are not a victim of wrong accussation one day. stop speaking ill of people, especially if they have done nothing to arm you, calling a family murderer is not be best bro... get it and have a change of heart... How will you feel if i call you a murderer too and people start spreading it? good news spread quickly but bad news travels faster. Speak no evil of people! By the way, micronut comes from the word "micronutrition" and nut in there, also means "nutured". Am a professional nutritionist incase you need my expertise. |
Diesel1:mumu! na ur family e kill? some people just come here to open mouth as dem like... poor people always hating for no reason. ode osh! |

bukatyne:If it's not submission, then it's "Respect". You can respect someone and not submit to his or her will but when you submit, you respect and submit. Check the examples i gave above, Husband (More superior) to Wife, Parents (More superior) to Children and Masters (More Superior) to Slaves. A general saying says, Respect is reciprocal but submission is not. In short, submission is giving all of an individual to another in exchange for nothing. |
ademi87:Don't mind them my brother... kale ri oro so nani |
legalbynature:A case of husband snatching now? I feel the court should address this and not NJC. That of NJC is her case with Aregbesola. My Opinion Though. |
Spiritual Jealousy + Red hand Evidence = Enough Considerations for Divorce Grant. Let each of them, goes his or her separate ways. |
in Ephesians 5, the apostle Paul explains to Christians how to live the Christian life: "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ" (verse 21). The word submit is surely one of the most difficult, disliked, and divisive words in the Bible. But Paul says to these Christians,"Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." Whatever the word submit means, it's something Paul thinks every Christian can and should do. He then illustrates how to submit by giving three examples from relationships in his day—wives and husbands, children and fathers, and slaves and masters. In each example, one person has more power, and one person has far less power. |
OK.......Aregbesola Messenger! Politicians can do anything.... Anyway, the court will determine. |
Freemanan:Remember No tribal Discrimination and there is freedom of speech. |
