You think say Naija na brewery? Which record is there if I may ask? Didn't he serve as NPC chairman? Were you not born then? Were the NPC commissioners under him ever pleased with him? 22 of them filed a petition against him b4 the very good day his "loquacity" showed him the way out of office and you are here saying his productivity is impeccable. The covert crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) may take a new dimension following the seeming ploy by the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, to nominate the former chairman of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Chief Festus Odumegwu, as a ministerial candidate in the President Muhammadu Buhari cabinet. The move, THISDAY gathered, is unsettling the Imo State c, who prides himself as the leader of the APC in the South-east, seeing his supposed leadership of the party in the South-east as being eroded. A source who confided in THISDAY yesterday said: “Already, the former Lagos State governor, who is popularly called the National Leader of the APC has taken Odumegwu to the president.” Odumegwu had served in the PDP administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan as the Chairman of National Population Commission (NPC). He was fired by Jonathan following series of complaints against him as the chairman of that all sensitive federal government agency. The Imo State governor is the only governor from the South-east geopolitical zone who is a member of the APC and supported the administration of President Buhari in no small way during the last elections. The governor had during a congratulatory visit to Buhari as president-elect boasted that if not for the strategy that the leadership of the APC in the South-east zone applied during the election, which saw the voting power of the region diminish by over 50 per cent, it would have been very difficult for the APC to win the presidential election. Okorocha, it was gathered, had been of the strong opinion that he should be allowed by the party to dictate the pace in the South-east because his splinter APGA was part of the merger that formed the APC. However, the current move by Tinubu, some analysts believe, is part of the larger plot to assert his leadership and control of the party in all the zone. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/okorocha-tinubu-set-to-clash-over-ministerial-nomination/219392/ |

I don't know how else to qualify it other than child abuse, buh its worse than that. Beating/caning/spanking is much worse than child abuse. I was a victim of this..and to be frank, it hasn't helped me in anyway. It only makes one stubborn, apart from the physical harm it may bring..(I ve got a nike scar on my hand to show whoeva is interested) I believe there are a million and one ways to discipline a child other than flogging him/her like a horse...Some ways that work are; witholding privileges, rewarding them for some of the good things they do OR telling them the possible rewards that comes after every good thing they do and repeatedly telling them the consequences of the bad things they do, and by practicing what you(the parent) preach .. |

The former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obua, is affected in the latest mass purge at the State Security Service (SSS), reliable security sources have told PREMIUM TIMES. An investigation panel led by a former director of training, recommended the dismissal of the former CSO alongside one Liman Widi, a personal assistant to the former Director General of the service, Ita Ekpenyong, for corrupt practices and playing partisan roles inimical to Service codes. A former spokesperson of the service, Marilyn Ogar, former President Muhammadu Buhari’s CSO, Abdulrahman Mani and one Adamu, the former CSO to former DG, Ita Ekpenyong, also featured prominently in the list of personnel compulsorily retired. Also disengaged from service are Yomi Zamba, Little John Okojie, Ahmed Abdullahi, Ibrahim Katsina, Larry Obiagwu, Abdulganiyu Dauda, Dahiru Dodo, Suleiman Dabo, among others. A source in the service said Messrs Obua and Widi were recommended for dismissal from service for alleged involvement in oil bunkering deals. Security sources say Mr. Obua’s explanation on the alleged $6.9 deal and oil bunkering did not satisfy the investigative panel. The panel therefore recommended them for dismissal. Ms. Ogar, who was sacked over allegations of bribery and partisanship, was however compulsorily retired. A notice for retirement issued to her, titled: “Retirement From Service”, read, “Following the on-going re-organisation in the Service, be informed that that your services are no longer required in the Department of State Security Service (DSS). You are therefore, retired from Service under Section 8 Rule 020806(II) of the Public Seervice Rules, 2006 wef 31st August, 2015″. In July, Mr. Obua was rumoured to have passed away in the custody of the service after he was detained on allegations of corruption and partisanship. He was released a few days after his lawyer raised the alarm over his failing health. On August 29, PREMIUM TIMES reported how the former CSO allegedly conspired with the former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Minister of Petroleum to spend, in just one deal, a princely $6.9 million dollars to buy three 40-feet mobile stages for use during mass public speaking events. Although Mr. Obua denied the story through his lawyer, Andrew Itsekiri, federal government investigators and security agencies said the deal was just one of the tons of alleged corrupt practices frequently engaged and condoned under the presidency of the immediate past president. According to our August 29 report, apart from the fact that the amount for the stages was inflated, there was no evidence that any stage was purchased at all. While the cost of mobile stages range in size and designs, only outlandish rock star musicians in Europe and the U.S. spend hundreds of thousands on their huge stages way bigger than the 40-feet stages. Even then, those musicians and super stars would not pay over $2m per stage, according to industry sources. The process of procurement of the three mobile stages was neither known to extant Nigerian laws and due process regulations, nor were the offices of the Auditor-General and the Accountant-General in the know, according to investigators. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/189503-sss-dismisses-jonathans-cso-gordon-obua.html Lalasticlala |
OVI75:All members of the PDP can't be unreasonable at the same time. |
A former governor of old Bendel State and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, has replied those attacking President Muhammadu Buhari over his recent appointments. The elder statesman explained that the president needed time to settle for the best people who can work for the country. He added that Nigerians would not forgive him if he failed. He also described as unnecessary, attempts by some Nigerians to assess the administration in just 100 days in office. He said, “When they knew that the man said he met everything in bad shape and in such situation you need to clean up the system so as to start on a good note.” The PDP chieftain made this remark when he met members of the committee he set up to oversee the yearly Award of the Best Journalist in Edo State, led by a former General Manager of the Edo State Broadcasting Service (EBS), Pastor (Mrs) Sidi Lawal-Igioh. “Nigerians asked him (Buhari) to appoint people, who can work with him and he can only appoint people he knows. If he fails by appointing a United Nation they will say it was his fault, they ought to have known. But he is now picking people he has tremendous trust in their ability. “So, those criticizing him should let him do his work. If at the end of four years he did not perform, then Nigerians have another opportunity to either say carry on or stop. “All these criticisms, I do not buy them. And the people who are criticising him probably they have never held any government position, they don’t know what is happening there, that all that glitters is not gold.” Commenting on 100 days in office, Dr Ogbemudia said “first and foremost, Buhari was elected for four years and in the programme of events which led to the elections, at no time was hundred days mentioned. “That they are being done in the past was perhaps a persuasive authority but that does not mean that everybody should keep to it. A programme well thought out to bring Nigeria back to the line of development, the line of security and so on, planning alone takes more than a hundred days. “So, I expect that when eventually he finished the home work he will come out with something big. When he was elected, Nigerians have very high expectation of his performance and in order not to disappoint Nigerians, he wants to take time to plan his programme so that when eventually he pushes it out they will welcome it. “So, they can excuse him because the Buhari they knew earlier on is no longer the same Buhari because this is a democracy. He has the National Assembly and the judicial arm now. His powers then is being shared with these two arms now. “He cannot join the bandwagon, as a matter of fact that is why he wants to change the evil ways things are done before so that Nigeria will be better” he stated. http://dailypost.ng/2015/09/04/stop-attacking-buhari-over-appointments-let-him-do-his-job-pdp-chieftain-ogbemudia/ |
