Politics › Uk Women Brutally Raped In Libya by mike404(op): 8:40pm On Mar 30, 2013
British nationals in Gaza-bound convoy sexually
assaulted by armed group in eastern city of
Benghazi, their father says.
Two British nationals of Pakistani origin have been
subjected to a brutal gang rape in Libya's eastern
city of Benghazi, their father has said.
Awadh al-Barassi said on his Facebook page that the
women - part of a humanitarian convoy destined for
Gaza, the Palestinian coastal enclave under an Israeli
blockade - were "brutally raped" in front of him.
Barassi called the crime a "horrible act".
He said he had been to see the two victims in
Benghazi on Thursday, and that the family was "in a
very bad psychological state".
The AFP news agency said the two women,
accompanied by their father, were with the Gaza
convoy when it was blocked from leaving Libya and
entering Egypt.
The three decided to return to Benghazi
accompanied by two more Britons, with the aim of
getting a flight home.
But when they arrived in Libya's second city they
were abducted by five unidentified men.
Arrests carried out
A Western diplomatic source speaking on condition
of anonymity confirmed the group had been
abducted, but was unable to say the women had
been sexually assaulted or raped, pending medical
reports.
The diplomatic source also said there had been
arrests in the case, without specifying how many.
Another source said the family was now being looked
after at the Turkish consulate in Benghazi.
Quoting security officials, the Reuters news agency
reported five British nationals had been kidnapped
by an armed group in Benghazi and that only one
was sexually assaulted.
The incident happened early on Wednesday morning
and the group was released several hours later,
Reuters reported.
They were now with the Turkish consul in Benghazi,
Libyan security officials said, according to Reuters.
"They were on their way to Benghazi airport when
they were stopped shortly after passing a checkpoint
manned by the national army.
They were then led to a place where the crime
happened," said a police official investigating the
incident.

Politics › Boko Haram Warns Teachers In Borno, keep Away From Schools Or Risk Attack by mike404(op): 12:28pm On Mar 30, 2013
As the ongoing trending deliberation over amnesty
for the Boko Haram sect persist, fears has once again
gripped School teachers in Maiduguri, the Borno
State capital, as a group suspected to be the
Boko Haram sect sent out warnings to primary and
secondary school teachers in the town to stop going
to school or risk bomb attacks.
News reporters learnt that some of the school
teachers received the warning in the morning of
Thursday while preparing for the day's academic
activities in their various schools.
According to sources, teachers in schools around
Kasuwa Guza Road in Lamisila Ward, Maiduguri, were
sternly warned by the group to stay away from
school or risk attacks.
The school teachers, who were said to have been
accosted on their way to school, were said to have
been shocked by the threat and quickly left for their
various homes.
Investigations also revealed that since the attack on
some primary schools in Maiduguri, during which
three teachers were killed and many others were
injured, attendance by teachers and students in
schools have reduced, as many parents no longer
allow their children and wards to attend schools for
fear of being attacked.
However, the Joint Task Force (JTF) has intensified
efforts on patrol and checking of vehicles at all the
entry points into the state capital, with a view to
arresting any suspected member of the group before they enter any part of the town.

Celebrities › Lil Wayne Says He’s An Epileptic And Has Had Seizures For Years. by mike404(op): 9:44pm On Mar 29, 2013
Lil Wayne says he’s an epileptic and has had seizures for years..
In an interview with Los Angeles-based radio station
Power 106 on Thursday, the 30-year-old rapper said
epilepsy caused his most recent health scare earlier
this month, when he was rushed to a hospital. Wayne said he had three back-to-back seizures.
The Grammy winner says: “I’ve had a bunch of
seizures, y’all just never hear about them.”
Wayne says he “could’ve died” and that the recent
seizures were a result of “just plain stress, no rest,
overworking myself.”
He released his 10th album, “I Am Not a Human
Being II,” this week. He’ll embark on a 40-city tour in July with rappers T.I. and Future.
The New Orleans native, whose given name is
Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., is one of the biggest stars not only of his genre but in all music.
