Music/Radio / Nkan Eledua: US Based Naija Born Artist Makes Waves by mikeangelo(m): 10:16pm On Jul 03, 2022
No matter how hard the golden fish tries to hide itself behind the shrubs of the sea from the fascinating gaze of its admirers its beauty and vibes will always give it out. This is pretty the same with the beautiful and sonorous artiste popularly called Nkan, a US-based queen of vocals, songwriter, performing, and recording artist.

Let us refresh your memory of Nkan; before she relocated finally to America in 2017, she already charted her cause as a reputable artist of note while with the theatre troupe, Black Image. As a talented singer and indeed an all-around entertainer moulded with an unbridled passion for the craft, her rise to the top is via a dint of hard work and her desire to excel.

The California-based artiste has earned various accolades and recognitions for herself and trade as a musician, one of which is ‘Golden Voice of Africa’, an appellation bestowed on her in Chicago for the captivation and dexterity of her vocal range; the soft-spoken Kemi Collorraffi Nee Otekaiye, who is well known as Nkan Eledua, her stage name, whose mantra for music is ‘Ride or Die’ truly knows that there are no short cuts to producing music that cuts across barriers of age or race.

With her Afrocentric and cosmopolitan genre of music, Nkan has been ‘fished’ out to grace the music world stage with her mesmerising craft.

Hear her, “I started making art to share my gift of music with the world and to make a positive impact through my lyrics and music,”

The phenomenal artist released her debut, “Music of our Ancestor”, produced by a UK-based Eko Star Records label in 2004.

Now, Nkan is back with a bang, a new hot single, Mr. DJ inspired by Rihanna, the American Superstar, after an intentional break to prove that whatever is worth doing has to be done well, even to satisfaction.

She also has two other singles she is yet to complete work on in the studio, 'Brother' and 'California Love'. The reason why her latest releases have something for every ardent lover of music to choose from, be it Afrobeats, jazz or highlife is because she is a multifacet gem.

Before coming out with this single, Nkan had been busy on stage; Some of her notable stage performances include the US Black Heritage celebration by Suya X Afro Urban Society (2020), the Onye Ozi project (2020), Sacramento Veterans Day memorial event (2020), San Francisco Art Museum (2019), Rock Café in Antioch (2019). Performed at Richmond height festival 2019, Performed solo song with Piwai at Umoja Festival 2019, Oduduwa Heritage Award (2019), played alongside Rotimi Oyenekan to open for Seun Kuti (2019), and lots more.

Here is the other side of Nkan, which many of her fans do not know. As an embodiment of talent for the arts, Nkan, started out as a thespian, this was where she unleashed her skills into the Nigerian entertainment industry, as a dancer and actress with the cutting edge uniqueness of her voice and personae endearing and making her the face of the theatre company.

She will be dropping her next single, “Mr. DJ,” produced by Smokeytuned with the executive producer being Joseph Colloraffi.
“Mr. DJ” will be available on all streaming platforms. It is an album to watch out for!

Education / Why We Funded 'back To School Jump Start Project'— Nltf's Dr. Bello Maigari by mikeangelo(m): 10:21pm On Mar 18, 2022
The CEO/Executive Secretary for National Lottery Trust Fund, NLTF, Dr Bello Maigari has explained on Friday, the motive behind the agency to have funded a laudable project in Surulere constituency.

During the presentation of Education Support Equipment & Materials for "Back To School Start Project" initiated by the office of the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the House of Reps, Gbajabiamila sponsored by the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), the executive secretary, Magari stated that the 'Back to School Jump Start Project' is to help improve the current capacity of schools, covering 46 schools including Junior & Senior Secondary Category Across Surulere 1, Federal Constituency.

The event that was held at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere Lagos State had the presence of sons and daughters of Surulere witnessing the transformation that the agency has caused to happen to their children's schools. The empowerment programme had a theme, ‘No School Left Behind In Surulere.'

Over 40 Junior and Senior Secondary Schools in Surulere Federal Constituency benefited from the intervention in the 1st Phase of the programme.

Mr Sule Yusuf Tegina who spoke on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the NLTF, Mr Bello Maigari said, “The programme which seeks to help improve the current capacity of schools in the area of good hygiene practice through the provision of basic sanitary and standard modern teaching and learning aid such as laptops, smart tablet fitted e-books for promoting standard in tandem with global best practice.

“Let me also congratulate the 46 benefiting schools in this initial phase of the project and to also re-affirm our commitment to supporting its continuation across the six geo-political zones of the country, though the processes leading to today’s event has not been easy, starting with a thorough review of the submission and a subsequent needs assessment visits by the agency’s team to the selected public schools here in Surulere-Lagos, where it was well-established that the provision of this basic instructional and sanitary materials is justified and will, without doubt, support and provide a conducive atmosphere for learning across the public schools. This became the basis for securing the approval for this unconditional grant to be judiciously utilized and applied by ‘She Foundation’ from the Management and Board of Trustees of the Trust Fund and then subsequently the Ministerial Tenders Board on behalf of the President.

As you are well aware, the National Lottery Trust Fund is an agency of the Federal Government established under section 35 of the National Lottery Act, 2005. Its mandate is to take custody of 20% of the net proceeds of all national lottery and gaming operations in Nigeria for the execution of good cause projects across the country for the benefit and wellbeing of the citizens of the country.

“In fulfilment of its mandate as an intervention agency established to promote the well-being of the people of our beloved nation through its various good cause projects, the government deem it necessary to provide an unconditional grant to ‘She Foundation’ through lottery good cause to facilitate this project which we are all here gathered to launch," he said.

As part of the activities of the event, the Trust Fund also commissioned vital medical equipment donated to Gbaja Randle Hospital Mother and Child Care General Hospital to consolidate on the vital medical equipment earlier donated to Onikan Healthcare Center a few months ago.

Similarly, efforts are also ongoing to ensure completion/commissioning of vital medical equipment to General Hospitals Gbagada, Ikene-Remo, Igbora, Ogbomoso, Surulere, Iresa all in the south-west and others across the six geo-political zones of the country.

Maigari continues, "The decision by the Federal Government to establish the National Lottery Trust Fund is indicative of a government that recognises the importance of lottery and gaming as a vehicle in enhancing the social wellbeing of its citizenry through investments in its various lottery good cause intervention projects that are creative, relevant, timely, realistic and economically sustainable with visible practical benefits to society and to continue to do so in a balanced, transparent and cost-effective manner.”

Also speaking at the event, the Speaker, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, in his speech said the initiative was aimed to address the widening of the educational disadvantage heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gbajabiamila, who was represented by Rep Ademorin Kuye, said, “It gives me great joy to be at this unique event, to launch the Jump-Start Project, which aims to digitise the teaching and learning process and inculcate a culture of basic hygiene in schools across the nation.

The reason for tagging the first leg of the Jump-Start project as “No School Left Behind in Surulere” is to address the widening of the educational disadvantage heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the health implications of the pandemic are all too obvious, its consequences for education are subtle but nonetheless devastating.

As of today, global statistics puts the number of deaths from COVID-19 at 6, 089,484. However, statistics are scarce as to how many children have dropped out of school due to the pandemic, especially in countries with developing economies. Even where learning seems to have continued uninterrupted, it is hard to evaluate the educational disadvantages stemming from inadequate infrastructure for virtual teaching. “For students in Nigerian public schools, the lockdown in 2020 was a huge academic setback.

“Thus, the Jump-Start Project is designed to mitigate the disadvantage caused by the lack of digital infrastructure in public schools, as well as ensure that there are no breaks in teaching and learning in the event of future pandemics," the Speaker said.

Education is the best possible investment in people. It is the silver bullet that lifts people out of poverty, encourages a broader perspective that expands their world view and allows them to engage critically with the questions that determine the course of civilisation, innovation, and human progress.

While rounding off his speech, the speaker informs all that, in this 21st century, the problems of poverty and war, of healthcare and climate change can only be solved by empowering the greatest number of people to independently seek knowledge and the confidence to challenge settled questions and pursue new approaches to solving old problems.

And that as a government, they are committed to building back a better and stronger educational system, which will be resistant to the eventualities of the new normal and personally. Here is what he said, "I am committed to improving the lives and livelihoods of my constituents through education.

A key to achieving this is the normalisation of digital learning and personal sanitation in public schools. Nigeria, and indeed Africa, has been short-changed by the roll-over effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, if the Jump-Start objectives are achieved, we would have taken advantage of the COVID-19 crisis to match up with global educational facilitation."

Appreciating the efforts of the agency, Gbajabiamila concluded, "I would like to take the opportunity to thank the National Lottery Trust Fund for buying into the vision of my Office by supporting the Jump-Start Project. As you are aware, the project should span the 6 Geopolitical-Zones, and it is our fervent wish that the National Lottery Trust Fund will support the project to achieve this objective and achieve our goals. I also salute the efforts of the planning committee.

“As we gather, let me remind us that we have come here today to provide the young people of Surulere with the material resources to help them have a better education experience because there is no more important assignment than ensuring our young people have access to good education.

This is in keeping with my commitment to my constituents to use the machinery and resources of government to provide a quality education that empowers the younger generation and sets them up for success. Indeed, ‘no school is left behind in Surulere’ in this time of digital learning.”

Events / Women Of Impact Awards Postponed Over The Min. Of Women's Affairs' Call To Duty by mikeangelo(m): 8:40am On Sep 10, 2021
The movers and shakers of this country are eagerly waiting for this to happen!
News reaching us has it that the Chief Host (Dame Pauline Tallen, Honourable Minister of Women Affairs) of the much anticipated VIP 100+1 Women of Impact Award has postponed the event from Saturday, 25th of September to Tuesday, 12th of October 2021.

We gathered that the cause of this postponement is due to the unavoidable call to duty of the Chief Host, Honourable Minister of Women Affairs at the 76th United Nations General Assembly, New York City, United States of America scheduled to begin on 14th - 30th September 2021.

The organisers, no doubt, regret the inconveniences this might have caused their distinguished nominees and guests, however, the Minister has assured her commitment to the successful hosting of the event on the 12th of October 2021.

Politics / NLTF: Dr. Maigari Gives Detailed Accountability On Alleged N7B Contract Scam by mikeangelo(m): 6:06pm On May 19, 2021
National Lottery Trust Fund led by Dr. Bello Maigari was alleged to have been involved in some discrepancies in the area of awarding contracts without following due process. The Senate committee championed to look into their cause has accused agency, NLTF and its runners of over N7bn fraud.
The agency through their Chairman Chief Executive Director, Dr. Bello has reacted to the said allegation.

“To public primary schools in Nigeria, over 2500 public primary schools are benefiting from 9 sets of sports, basketball, volleyball, soccer, handball etc, they are all here, and the names and schools of the beneficial are all here with their telephone numbers, you all can view, I can give you copies, and it took us pains to go through the process of this procurement.

Initially we had to obtain the approval of the minister to approve our budget, which we did, the budget of 1.1billion, having obtained the approval of Mr President Muhammadu Buhari, which is here with me dated 10th Feb 2014. The procurement involves option; we had to engage a consultant who knows the terrain. International business is not an easy thing, most of us do know this, you can easily be swindled, so you must know that you dealing with the right entity and that is why we took the pain to also engage a consultant who enables us to fashion out the process to procure and ship these sets of equipment to Nigeria and got them cleared at the port as well.

After handed them over to the agency, we will now distribute them to almost2500public primary schools across Nigeria. I can tell you this is the largest and most comprehensive intervention that we have ever taken in this agency. It was conducted in a manner that is opened and transparent. We have obtained due process, no certificate objection from BPP. We proceeded to the ministry of Special Duties and intergovernmental Affairs, to obtain the approval of Federal Executive Council and the conveyance of this decision is also here, communicating to us by the ministry.

So I can tell you we are opposed to anything that would tarnish the image of the organization. If you go round, you can sample the opinion of our staff, we employ due diligence in what we do, anything that comes to the image of this organization we don’t take it lightly at all."

Reacting to the alleged N7b contract fraudulently awarded and how he was said to have spent much more than what was budgeted for, Dr. Maigari said, “there is no such thing as N7billion, what we submitted to the committee and finance is here. We submitted our remittance status of 2014 to 2019, it is N6.3 billion and not N7billion, you all can see it. It’s not N7billion at all. When we submitted to the committee, the chairman directed that we should go and reconcile with the Nation Lottery Regulatory System.....because they said they didn’t have records of that on their system.

To me, I feel it’s their duties as the regulators to, not only render accounts on what we receive for good, but they should also render accounts of the prices Nigerians win when playing lottery. Also they should render accounts on what operators make on annual basis. It is strange and thereby shocking to say they do not have records of these figures. And that we should go back to reconcile simply shows that there is gross incompetence, and I think we, as Nigerians should not accept that, they should always be detailed…
It’s even shown here that in 2014 we received N496, 354.000 billion,{four hundred and ninety six Billion, three hundred and fifty four naira} and so on, it kept on increasing within the period of 2014-2019.

We get paid directly from the regulatory commission, because they are the ones who issues the license and monitor the payment of this statutory remittances to NATF, so there is no over spending, this I can say honestly you can spend more than what is appropriated for ,we have rendered all our audited accounts to the office of the Accountant General of the Federation. There is nowhere you would see any query that such a thing has happened and we have also gone beyond that as a responsible organization, because we pride ourselves as people that should be open and transparent to Nigerians ,

When questions are given out ,we were expected to respond ,but no or less time was given, because initially these figures were denied by the commission so that’s why we were directed to go back and reconcile the figures then come back to the committee s but we were shocked to see the nasty headline. For some reason, we were not expecting such from the regulatory since it their responsibility to be on top of the statistics and Information of the industry. We are sure that the things we do in this organization are done well “

Politics / Appeal Court Set Up Justice Mohammad Sanwalu , Others As Panel On Osun Election by mikeangelo(m): 2:30am On Apr 12, 2019
President of Appeal court has set up a 5-man team panel to rule over Osun State gubenatorial election which has led the two political gladiators of the state, Gboyega Oyetola and Ademola Adeleke, the two principal contenders in that election, approached the Court of Appeal for solace.
The panel has Justice mohammad Sanwalu as the chairman and four others.

Without mincing words, the governor of Osun state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola and his arc-rival in the September 22, 2018 governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) are presently in tension following the unfavourable judgment of the election petition tribunal and the Bwari High Court, Abuja.

Exactly six months after the gubernatorial election, the election petition tribunal sitting in Apo, Abuja, on March 22, 2019, delivered judgment in favour of Adeleke, directing that the certificate of return be withdrawn from Oyetola while a new certificate should be issued to Adeleke immediately.

Apparently shocked by the pronouncement of the tribunal, some groups, allegedly sponsored by the state government, stormed Oshogbo, the capital of Osun state to protest the judgment of the tribunal that nullified the election of Oyetola.

Later, Oyetola went to challenge the judgment of the tribunal at the appellate court, praying the court to upturn the decision of the majority judgment of the tribunal.

In a 39-ground notice of appeal filed on March 26, 2019 by his team of lawyers led by Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Oyetola faulted the majority judgment of Justices Peter Obiora and Anyinla Gbolagunte on the grounds that it was perverse, replete with contradictions and not supported by evidence led by the petitioners.

Oyetola prayed the Court of Appeal to uphold his appeal, set aside the majority judgment and dismiss the October 16, 2018 petition by PDP and Adeleke.

Oyetola argued that the tribunal was wrong to have declared Adeleke winner of the election held on September 22 and 27, 2018 on ground of non-compliance rather than ordering a rerun election, noting that, not only did the decision disenfranchise the electorate in the affected polling units, it violated the provision of Section 140 (2) of the Electoral Act.

He said his complaint, in the appeal, was against the entire majority judgment, except where the tribunal held that it lacked jurisdiction to set aside INEC Guidelines; that the allegation of over-voting was not proved; that the petitioners did not prove voided votes and other parts of the judgment where the tribunal agreed with their arguments.

Oyetola is contending, in his first ground of appeal, that the entirety of the majority judgment is a nullity because it was written and delivered by Justice Obiora whom he said, “Did not participate in all the proceedings of the tribunal and who was not present when all the witnesses gave evidence.”

After 11 days that the tribunal declared Adeleke winner of the Osun election, Justice Othman Musa of an Abuja High Court, sitting in Bwari Area Council, nullified the nomination of Senator Adeleke as candidate of the PDP in the September 22, 2018 governorship election. Two chieftains of the APC: Wahab Raheem and Adam Habeeb, had in 2018 barely few days to the governorship election, dragged Adeleke to court, alleging that he did not possess the requisite educational qualification (secondary school certificate) to contest for the office of the governor.

They urged the court to disqualify Adeleke from participating in the September 22 governorship election and the court subsequently granted the order on the grounds that Adeleke offended section 177 of the 1999 Constitution which stipulates that candidates for the position of governor must be educated up to secondary school level.

Shortly after the judgment, the Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation, who had earlier lauded the judgment, faulted the disqualification of Adeleke’s candidacy by the Bwari court. The group in a statement by its spokesperson, Mr Niyi Owolade, noted that the issue had been settled by two high courts, describing the Bwari judgment as shocking.

The group said, “First of all, the matter in question has been addressed by two high court rulings affirming that in the face of the constitution, Senator Ademola Adeleke is qualified to run for the governorship. The two rulings delivered in September 2018 held that Adeleke satisfied requirement of the law to contest for office. It is trite in law that once a court of coordinate jurisdiction has ruled on a matter, a court of similar jurisdiction cannot entertain it.”

Now that the two major rival are making serious efforts to get free of restraints, the incumbent governor, Oyetola, must do everything legally possible to make sure that the appellate court upturn the nullification of his election by the tribunal, while his arc-rival, Adeleke must put up a legal battle to win the two appeal court. He needs the court of appeal in Akure, Ondo state, to uphold the tribunal judgment that declared him winner, and the Court of Appeal in Abuja, to dismiss the Bwari judgment that disqualified his candidacy.

As the battle was on, victory came the way of Adeleke in one of the pending suits against his eligibility to contest the governorship election. On Saturday April 6, a Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo state, affirmed the eligibility of Adeleke to contest, contrary to the judgment of the Justice David Oladimeji of Osogbo High court. The court dismissed the appeal filed against the judgment of Osun state High court in Osogbo that had earlier affirmed that Adeleke is eligible to contest election as governor.

With the dissenting judgment by the chairman of the tribunal, Justice Muhammad Sirajo, the duo of Oyetola and Adeleke have to wait for the appeal to decide whether to uphold the majority judgment or the minority judgment. Justice Sirajo, in a dissenting view on the judgment said, “I have the privilege of reading in draft the majority judgment of the tribunal just delivered by my learned brother, Justice Peter Obiorah.

“Even though I participated actively and contributed immensely by writing some portions of the judgment just delivered, I disagreed with the decisions and conclusions reached by my learned brothers with regards to the allegation of non-compliance with the provision of Electoral Act, particularly, the allegation of non-recording.

A former Attorney General in Osun state, Mr Niyi Owolade, maintained that the majority judgment is on the side of the law, saying that the alterations in form EC8A is substantial enough to accept that the election was rigged in favour of Oyetola.

The question people are asking however is if there will be another re-run in Osun state. The September 27 governorship re-run was widely condemned by national and international observers including the media because it was characterised by violence.

Will the appeal upturn the judgment of the tribunal and declare Oyetola as substantive winner of the election without taking note of the irregularities pointed out by the tribunal? The PDP has the right to go to Supreme Court. What if the appeal upholds the judgment of the tribunal and declare Adeleke winner? The certificate scandal may prevent Adeleke from taking over. All these, investigation reveal will unfold in a matter of days.

However, in a chat with Blueprint, a lawyer, Mr Femi Ayandokun, explained that the second runner up of Adeleke at the primary, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, who was alleged to be a mole to Senator Bola Tinubu, will take over. How that will unfold is what everyone is waiting to see.

Religion / Finecoat Paints Boss, Remi Awode Clocks 55…empowers Church Members by mikeangelo(m): 6:06pm On Sep 10, 2018
When looking at the pool of people who came together to celebrate an icon on his 55th birthday, I discovered that, there are just a few virtuous men who are not bored with their trade, soft spoken Apostle Aderemi Awode is one of them. He is a man with impeccable characters whose wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind, this is why he has been successful in all he touches, and he walks safely through the maze of human life without hurting anyone.

Chemstar Manufacturing company boss, Apostle Aderemi Emmanuel Awode, owner of Finecoat and Shield Paints, had his 55th birthday soiree last weekend, it was indeed an impressive gathering as friends, family and associate from all walks of life teemed to celebrate a manufacturing giant, a business tycoon, philanthropist par excellence and an icon of hope to many homes.

The most cherished asset of Remi Awode is not his head full of knowledge but his heart full of love, ears open to listen, and hands willing to help, reason many of his staff, friends and associates eulogized his good virtues at the birthday shindig. Many of those that graced the event took the pleasant achiever on memory lane on how he touched their lives in several ways; he’s no doubt, a good man who brings out the good in other people.

For those that feel that being kind hearted to people got them nothing but rejection and hurt, the story of Aderemi Awode is something the young ones should emulate, despite being hurt a few times, he has never allowed such instances to redefine who he truly is. He’s a lover of people whose generosity amazingly knows no colour, creed or religion. Unarguably, this act is one of the factors that led to the success story of Finecoat Paint today.

He’s a strong believer of an aphorism that, “if you are a thoughtful person who does nice things, don’t stop just because the people failed to see the goodness inside you, it's their ejection or lack of response that is the problem, not yours. Don’t change yourself, they need to change, they need to work on themselves, keep being the wonderful you”.
The strong unapologetic honest and God fearing Awode is one of most kind-hearted people in the world, reason he doled out several millions to empower some members of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, Divine Blessing Cathedral located at Alagbado area of Lagos where he’s a founding member. Apostle Awode does not only see it as his duty to give out of his abundance, he shares even his tank indicates reserve.

At 55, according to him, is to live his life full of praises of God who has immensely blessed and favoured him. The event was graced by Mr. Toyin Haastrup, Engr. Tunde Akintona, Mr & Mrs. Sam Ajagu, Members of the Galilee Land Development Committee of the C$S Movement Church led by Dr. Bisi Adedire, Mrs. Odeyinka, Founder Fluorescent Group of Schools, Alh. Soladoye, PRO, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Mr. & Mrs. Yemi Sonde, Sp. Apostle John Oyeku, HRH, Oba Oluwalambe Taiwo J.P., The Olojokoro of Ojokoro Land, Pastor Dayo Paseda, Deputy Managing Director, Chemstar Paints Industry (Nig.) Ltd. and many of the alumni of the University of Ibadan who have been friends since then till date.

Nairaland / General / Lagos BRT: Commuters Groin In Pains Daily At Bus Terminals (photos) by mikeangelo(m): 2:09am On Aug 15, 2018
The number one primary function of every government agency that provides public service to the people is to give adequate relief or alternative succor to the masses but with the Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit, otherwise known as BRT, especially those on Lagos Ikorodu axis under the management of Primero Transport Services Limited led by Chief Ademola Seriki, no doubt, it has failed woefully performing its statutory right as its bus terminals are creating more problems to the people instead of ameliorating their living condition.

If the government of Lagos State is not looking into this serious many atrocities being perpetrated in this transport sector,, the good work of His Excellency , Akinwunmi Ambode might be dragged in the mud.
My experience yesterday was not palatable and for the sake of those who are not privy of the goings, I decided to do it this way once and for all. At the Lagos Ikorodu Bus Terminal, it indeed needs serious overhauling.

Aside the fact that their staffers are not courteous and lack respect for humanity, it has become a daily routine, according to those who ply the root every now and then, to go through rigorous stress before boarding a supposed to be convenient and comfortable transport system but nay
what they experience on a daily basis is beyond human’s comprehension.

“You will be asked to maintain a queue...three hour later you are still there in a queue and nobody will announce to you why there is a delay or why the queue is massive. All they do is sell non-refundable tickets to people. That's fraud, that's not governance, that must stop.”
There are many reported cases of an old man who stood at the bus station for hours and collapsed when his strength couldn’t take it anymore. There was also a time a pregnant woman was said to have fainted when the queue she was in chocked her.

Is it possible for the ticketers to be directed to stop sales of tickets when it’s evident that there are delays?
One of the PROs by the name Seun at the Majidun where Primero office is located spoke with us, “our business is to provide transportation to the people, we are less concerned about the crowd or queue. And in the area where you mentioned that they should refund your money when you have already missed your appointment, wel, I am sorry to tell you sir that they are not obliged to make any refund, fares are non- refundable once a ticket has been issued, you can’t even use the ticket a day after.”

Is it not obvious that Primero is only interested in milking the masses and not in anyway adding any value? Well, we cannot continue to act as if all is well. I don't often take BRT buses except on rare occasions but thrice out of those times are nothing to write home about.
Now tell me, who will represent those people whose livelihood has been affected by this lackadaisical attitude of the government agent, Primero Services? This must stop...we must raise our voice against this tyranny in Ambode's government. The #stopkillinglivesatbrtbusterminals must go viral.

Family / Tito Da.fire's Divorce Case: Court Awards Custody Of Son To Ex… by mikeangelo(m): 4:43am On Jul 06, 2018
They spoke poignantly of so many common emotions experienced in this typically wrenching divorce process that lasted for two years.
High Court of Ogun State, Ota Judicial Division, has finally dissolved the marital vows between Blessing Ifeanyichukwu and Uduak Peter popularly called Tito Da.fire, a whisper informed us.
Their marriage was consummated on October 31, 2013 and separated December 7, 2014 while the divorce proceedings commenced in 2016.
Justice O.S. Olusanya in his ruling dissolved the marriage on the basis that it has irretrievably broken down, and additionally on the basis of desertion by the respondent. She has deserted the matrimonial home with no intention to return as indicated by evidence during trial.
The highly devastated singer an OAP, Uduak who was approached shortly after the pronouncement for a reaction said he had no comment but that he only wanted to be a good dad to his adorable son.

As informed, the respondent, Blessing had denied the father access to the child for two years while the case lasted.
All effort to reach his wife was aborted as there was no contact of her made available to this office.
Meanwhile, the judge awarded custody to the respondent, the only product of their liaison, a 4-year old male child, with the petitioner getting unrestricted access and visitation rights.

People who used to know the couple together said that their separation has deeply wreaked havoc on Tito's sense of self-esteem. "Marriage break up is like an ultimate assault, an incalculable insult to who you are or thought you were. It can make you doubt things that earlier you took for granted. And it can also deal a huge blow to your ability, or willingness, to trust others (and maybe yourself as well)."

Another family member told us on the ground of anonymity that their break up represents a loss of innocence: a sadder-but-wiser, unasked-for introduction into a world more perplexing and painful than they might ever have imagined.

Events / When The Grand Patron Of The Awode Family Clocked 80 (photos) by mikeangelo(m): 10:44am On Dec 04, 2017
It was a beautiful gathering put together to celebrate and honour Papa Dickson Adekunle Awode as he turned 80. The celebrant, no doubt, was full of joy and in high spirit as family, friends and acquaintances all dropped one thing or the other to rejoice with him.

The classy, well-attended and star studded soiree couldn’t have been more befitting as nothing was in short supply yesterday Sunday 3rd of December, 2017 at The Grandeur Place, Billingsway, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.

In appreciation of the all the good work of Papa, Engineer Dickson Awode, his son, CEO of Chemstar Manufacturing Company, makers of Finecoat and Shield Paints, Apostle Emmanuel Aderemi Awode spared no cost to give his loving and devoted father a birthday to remember.

It was indeed a day to remember as Papa Awode witnessed his children, grand-children and great-grand children celebrating a life of a patriarch who is blessed and favoured to have accomplished so much.

Celebrities / Finecoat Paint Boss, Aderemi Awode Raises Staff Pay By 20% To Celebrate Birthday by mikeangelo(m): 2:16am On Sep 13, 2017
To the entire staff of Chemstar Manufacturing Company, it was an all-round jubilation as their boss, Apostle Aderemi Emmanuel Awode raised their pay by 20% increment to celebrate his birthday, a tradition he has been doing religiously for the past 22 years.
No doubt, it’s only Chemstar that such can happen in this season of recession where companies are shutting down operations and some cutting down their staff strength etc. No recession has changed their tradition.

Apostle Remi Awode had his 54th birthday on Thursday 8th of September, 2017 with a few of his friends and associates at his palatial Finecoat Office complex, Casso area of Alagbado, Lagos in a grand style amidst fanfare as the management and staff were all rejoicing for the soothing wind that has come their way.
For this business magnate, Aderemi Emmanuel Awode blowing out 54 candles on that day was by sheer grace and favour of God who has kept him alive to witness such a significant day in his life. The self-style man, Remi, believes that getting in and out of a limousine has nothing to do with being an icon but touching lives and putting smiles on the lips of so many people.

In all his deeds and acts, Awode has well-displayed a true expression of what he feels about life in its entirety, giving, caring and always looking at the bright side of issues. He’s more than a friend but a true friend, who cares too much about his people and never relents to carry them up even when they fall.
Names are indeed revelations from God and true identity of man. This is epitomised by the way Awode rose from grass to grace, went through tick Hercules to become a gigantic tree in which many birds perch to feed on it while also providing shelters to many people to relax and enjoy the cool atmosphere beneath its branches.

One may not be able to chronicle the various achievements of this icon, Remi Awode, however, it’s very important to state at this juncture that, his numerous contributions to the manufacturing industry, its advancement and growth of the primary and secondary economic sectors of the nation at large, has dignified him as a trailblazer.
He’s mentor and achiever within the extinct subversive colony of genuine patriotic Nigerian/African leader, who never went into politics or engaged in any shady deal to be what he’s today but through sheer dint of hard-work, sense of dedication and believe in God.
What can we say than to wish this man of many parts who has his hands tucked in many pies, many happy returns of the day. Like they say, the older the wine, the better it becomes and at such, this is not the time to feel old but rather renewed for greater responsibilities which lie ahead. A wonderful birthday soiree to a friend, mentor and supporter of a great cause, Apostle Aderemi Emmanuel Awode, the man who loves to paints Nigeria with FINECOAT PAINTS.

He was being celebrated by his over 1000 staff at the hall tucked inside his multi-billion naira Finecoat Head Office. In return of the gesture, the amiable personality seized the opportunity to announce a 20% increment across the board with birthday ‘brown envelope’ gift for each and every staff.

Crime / Girl, 9, Raped By Man Who Is Being Fed By Her Mum (photo) by mikeangelo(m): 1:39am On Sep 13, 2017
9-year-old old girl is presently admitted at St Lukes Anglican Hospital, Wusasa, Zaria after she was raped by a man living with her parents. Below is the report posted on Instagram by makeup artist, Jamila Abdullahi Yunusa:

"Okay, my younger brother was admitted in the hospital and then I came across this 9 year old girl in the ward.. Inna liLlahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raajiun. She was raped by a guy that lived with her parents, they fed him, and gave him shelter in their home.
And of all the favours done by the parents, he paid them by raping their daughter.

When I asked the little girl, she said 'he threatened me with a knife and said he's going to kill me'. The guy was arrested immediately.
Now, the relatives of the guy just came to the hospital and they're begging the mother to let it go, forgive and forget. And they also informed her that if she doesn't want to let it go, they know their ways, and they'll make sure the guy is released. (They're threatening the mother)
I'm calling on the government and other NGOs to please do something about it. They live in Chikaji Zaria. Presently admitted in St Lukes Anglican Hospital, Wusasa, Zaria.

Religion / Remi Awode Builds Biggest Auditorium For C&S Church, Divine Blessing Cathedral by mikeangelo(m): 2:45am On Jan 11, 2017
Many would be wondering the motive behind the magnificent place of worship erected by Apostle Emmanuel Aderemi Awode for the Cherubim and Seraphim Church at Ajoke Ayo off AIT Road, Alagabdo area of Lagos but those who have met him before will attest to his philanthropic nature and passion for doing things for God.

Although he is better known as an entrepreneur who oversees the affairs of Chemstar paints and C-Pin, his sense of giving and the need to sow for posterity is the summation of his personality. It is based on this premise that the soft spoken Apostle in the C&S movement never bated an eyelid inspite of the present economy crunch in the country to put up a truly beautiful edifice adorned with the best of state of the art musical and sound equipment, cameras, and other paraphernalia of worship tools and items to make worship and fellowshipping of the congregation to be as comfortable as you can get anyway.

The masterpiece of architectural design and second to none in any Cherubim and Seraphim church in Nigeria has an auditorium for adults with a sitting capacity of almost 5000, the youth church which is beautifully tucked at the basement of the adult church is also tastefully furnished with its own sound and cooling equipment’s to make time spent in the present of the Lord to be a never to be forgotten experience and a place to always come back to.

Aside the place of worship, the complex which sits on 2 acres of land has other amenities which include an administrative building, an event center and a conducive well stocked library where reading and research work can be seamlessly carried out.

The question who will be asking is why the ebony skinned Apostle spent so much on a place of church and how much tool has the expenditure taken on his finances and business. Well, Apostle Awode is of the firm believe that since the Lord loves a cheerful giver, he is happy to give God from the abundance of what He has blessed him with. “God does not charge or bill us for any of His blessings on us and even if He were to charge, we cannot afford to settle His bills, if He can be that magnanimous towards us, it would be silly of me to say I have spent XYZ amount to do this to honour my maker whose constant love and care for me and my household has been my staying grace”
As long as I have breadth in me I will never stop giving back to the cause of God and the gospel of Christ. The multimillion worship arena is billed for dedication on Saturday January 14, 2017 by the Baba Aladura himself, Dr. Samuel Adefila Abidoye, Spiritual Father and Head C&S Movement Church, Worldwide.

Romance / Tito Da.fire’s Marriage Falls Apart...wife Relocates Only Son Abroad by mikeangelo(m): 10:54am On Oct 13, 2016
There is nothing done in secrecy that will not at one time or the other see the light of day, such is the hush-hush wedding embarked upon by Tito Da.fire with his then heartthrob, Ify on November 2, 2013, little did he know that the marriage would only have a short life span, it lasted just a little over a year. As you are reading this, the subtly publicized marriage of the On-Air-Personality who manages brands under G2M Creatives has crumbled irreconcilably and the wife has relocated abroad with the only child of the union, Ebuka. In an exclusive telephone conversation with the multi-talented CEO of Grinding Records, Tito Da.fire took us through the journey of the recent development concerning his career and marriage.

According to him, marriage which ought to have a happy –ever after tale was filled with loads of issues. The now estranged couple obviously never understudied themselves before saying ‘I Do’. Hear him, “Initially I thought she was disposed to entertainment, however overtime I realized she was not, it is one of the major lessons I learnt from my failed marriage. For example I remember that I would record songs at home and she would not make a comment, till I told her hey, I'm going to stop doing this because it seems you don't like me doing this...And she said oh no, not that, and after then she would say, that song you were working on, the one that has Haruna Ishola's voice ( because I was working on a remake of his classics), it’s nice, but I packed it all up and won't talk about it after then because I felt she wasn't cool with me singing. Sadly, we separated about a year and a month after our marriage.”
He also said about his son, "I miss my son a great deal and would love to play the role of an active –on-hand father to my son Ebuka, watch him play and grow."

Meanwhile, after the collapse of his marriage, Tito Da.fire dusted his lyrics diary; hit the studio to record a song, Imagination where he featured the late music icon, OJB Jezreel. Now, Tito Da.fire has shot the music video of the song as directed by Matt Max and it’s indeed one of the best things to come out of the entertainment scene this year.

The reason for his choice of Matt Max as director is not far-fetched, as he has this to say, “Imagination was one of two songs I recorded with my long-term friend and brother, the late OJB Jezreel, and losing him just before releasing the audio was painful, and I wanted a director who could bring the energy alive. I spoke with a couple of directors and Matt Max's treatment deeply connected with the soul of Imagination. Once I explained those thoughts and ideas, he was totally in sync with it as he was able to see the broader picture, and the rest is now history as the video for Imagination will drop in November signaling the flagging off of a series of events to culminate in the actual release.”

The accountant turned workaholic all round entertainment artiste would love to imbibe the practice of having a deserved rest after putting in long hours of work into his hobby cum work and want nothing more than to leave a lasting legacy for generations coming after him in terms with his passion of making an impact on the entertainment scene.

It's been over a year since APC took over ...when u buy a dilapidated house , people start to get a glimpse of how the new construction/repairs will turn out ....here we seem not to be seeing much ...What is government doing to bring down the price of food ? What is government doing to employ the millions of graduates yearly? What is the plan to give us power ...which will bring about new jobs as industries will come back to live.

.what is the plan to revamp our comatose educational system? ...what is the plan to improve our road networks? What is the plan on security? How is this government engaging the youths through sport? What is been done to provide affordable housing and Healthcare? I agree corruption has to be KILLED! ...what is been done with the recovered funds ...who stole what?
What is the CHANGE from the norm? Just saying....”

Now who will answer these questions?
