lastmessenger: lets put sentiments aside. If your brother is in danger of being killed by a known enemy, what advice are you going to give your brother? The Fg swung into action killed many defenceless ipob members and went ahead to tag them terrorists and today ipob is almost becoming a history but when the issue of Fulani herdsmen killing are being discussed, the fg is showing a non challant attitude towards the killings that are going on in almost every part if the country save the north west. Again the army has been involved in situations that led to the suspicion. One of those victims of herdsmen attack in plateau state recounted on how they were led by the army to a so called safe place only to be attacked by the Fulani militia. We have had situation whereby the military bombed villages while claiming ignorance. General danjumas statement is born out of frustration. I situation whereby people are killed and those who are meant to protect them are no where to be found. In this case self defence is the only solution. I wish the government can just allow us have guns in our houses. The worst situation a man can find himself is a situation whereby he is helpless in the face of is enemy. guy you are still waiting for go ahead to arm yourself from govt this govt you slow man |

chris2h: THE IMPLICATIONS OF GENERAL TY DANJUMAS COMMMENTS: THE DESTRUCTION OF NIGERIA BY CHRISTOPHER HARUNA HAMMAN
Over the weekend I did not have the time to take a look at the news as I always do due to the fact that I made new friends and was getting to understand them and their personalities (again as I always do). Only for this morning for me to wake up to check my e-mails and social media accounts to find out that one of our great legends and a national icon all by himself had addressed a group of young people at their convocation and within the address called on people to take up arms in the interest of self defense. fulani have jammed who will not forgive them General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma is a legend all by himself. Agreed. However, he seems to want to destroy the very fabric of the country that made him so. he dint do nathing the country is destroying its fabric all by itself The middle belt of this great country is the great uniting factor that bridges the divide between the conservatism of the north and the liberalism of the south. It is the very region that ultimately decides who wins or loses the presidential elections. hahahahahahahahaha you funny the west decides.we middle belters no see road clearly It is the very place upon which the cradle of our national unity is birthed. where you de get all dis lyrics from Then you have one of the greats from that region call for the taking up of arms. One would then realize that we still have a long way to go in uniting Nigeria. you jus realising dis One obvious truth about the herdsman killings which cannot be ignored is that they employ guerrilla tactics in order to maintain an upper hand in the fluidity of conflict. someone been reading up on his art of war i see As such, the balance of power when it comes to victory always lies in the hands of the so called herdsmen. what victory no one fighting back As it is always with the rest of state when it comes to putting together an appropriate response to the newly formed menace, the government will take some time before results from all they are trying to do start to show. 3 yers br'er or longer sef since jona time or evn obj time sef One may fault the current administration on many things (which I do from time to time, just check my facebook wall), but not on security. The one thing that I have found to be quite impressive is President Buhari's commitment to the ensuring of the safety of lives and property of every Nigerian. what do you know about security General Danjuma has just shot himself in the foot. ty dannjuma does not shoot themselves in the foot This is because this is not 1980 or even 1998 that people will forget his statements in a hurry. This brings to the fore the issue of the Generals'minders and communications advisers. Were they asleep when he made those comments? what would they have done block his mouth on the high table? He has just influenced a whole generation of young people to fight anyone that does not resemble them either in tribe, interest or religion kai your mumu don do he told them to defend themselves not fight and has forgotten that the great state of Nigeria owes its very existence to the unity in diversity concept that makes us the powerhouse that we are. nigeria owes its existence to lord lugard and the british empire
We cannot ignore the Nigeria becoming Somalia comment. why not we've ignored every other suggestion why stop now We should not forget that it is words like these from people like him that cause the very scenarios that made such places to become known for the carnage and destruction that occurred. no it is cowardice of ppl like you that cause one group to overstep its boundaries Nigeria is too big for anyone who has become like a living demigod theres a reason they called demigods they are bigger in fact to some to wake up one day and call for civil violence on a massive scale. again, self defence not civil violence Imagine if every person in Nigeria who can bear arms to have a gun, they're far fewer than your rampant imagination thinks imagine what kind of destruction and waste to human life can occur on such a scale? The military is right on this one and the restriction of arms is not a bad thing in itself. it is very bad It is for our security nationally. why not live on a farm and type dis nonesense Probably it is time for the General at 80 to take some time off to relax and enjoy his family. Such comments that fan the flames and embers of national disunity with the hints of insurrection and are not needed especially considering the fact that next year is an election year or is General TY trying to tell us something that we need to know politically? Is this what the General wants to be known for? A conflict creator? you do realise thats what generls are wont to do right Nigerias' future depends on the ability of Nigerians to believe in Nigeria. no it depends on the ruling elite to check itself 'for it gets checked by the system It appears that even the General has stopped believing in the Nigeria that made him what he is today. nigeria dint make sht And many Nigerians were hailing his comments and supporting the bearing of arms by the general civilian populace. Only if they understood the very implications of those comments. fewre herdsmen killings That is when and where you hear things like mass genocide, already happening to the unarmed don't hear you making meaningful suggestions civil war and so on and so forth. Anybody who understands the results of warfare would be careful to speak when talking about such things. anyone who understands what it means for your family to be slaughtered will not agree with you in the saftey of your GRA We as Nigerians should believe in the politics of ideas. we do idea of self defence from killers Not one of tribe, religion or separatist sentiments. this is also an idea why is it off the table are you dictating ideas?better wake up ths Imagine if the Northern Muslims and Southern Christian Generals and National Icons also call for the bearing of arms. What kind of scenario would that create? then the military and police and politicians will sit the fck up God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. United we stand. Divided we fall! |
Politics › Re: Better Option To Building A Refinery By Unilag by mikolo80: 11:17pm On Mar 27, 2018 |
how is this drivel better than a refinery boyo123: Recently i saw a news that university of Lagos is planning on establishing a refinery
https://www.nairaland.com/4419148/university-lagos-unilag-establish-refineries
yes its good news as we can say that the vc and he's colleagues are finally thinking in the right direction, but however i think they are over ambitious ,a refinery is not what the school needs and building one is not going to be cheap either
while i was in one of the federal schools some years back, my school hosted the west African university games and a lot of money was wasted on building facilities to host the games for two weeks or thereabout after the games we the students didn't see any benefit rather than seeing friends from other schools around ,yet millions of naira was wasted , in better situations these money could be channelled into building companies that can have a direct impact on the students.
for instance the chemistry/ industrial chemistry departments can set up a chemical producing plant which will be run like a standard organization strictly by the lecturers and students ,imagine the schools boasting of producing the best industrial chemicals or paints in the country and the bulk of the production is done by the students which in turn makes them better graduates, some with enough finance can even startup their own firms after school. wonder why the Harvard graduates don't go looking for jobs
accounting department can set of an account auditing firm with the help of the school and the students will be made to provide solutions to real life issues not repeated questions from 1988.
mechanical/ metallurgical engineering can set up a firm that produces the best wheelchairs or hospital beds in the country and the federal government will be their major buyers .
business admin students will not just read about administration on papers alone they will have the opportunity to proffer solutions to problems encountered by these firms
all other departments should set up something as well, imagine the chemical firm being the best producer of plastic producing chemicals in a state, how long will it be before it enters into the market of other states even other parts of the country ,if it is run properly, we can even export if it meets a high standard
note that these things are not difficult to set up if you consider the money these schools spend on social activities like inviting a celebrity for a show or campus concert, even the students themselves contribute money to bring musicians for their dinner parties .
imagine a professor in chemistry going to the market to buy paint for his house and the apprentice at the shop even know the contents of the paint better than the prof, isn't that shameful
sorry about the mistakes i know i am not a good writer but think about the points i have made |

una no de build bungalow or single house for east iamhorny: This is how Nigeria has been afflicted with the plagues of pharaoh and how karma is visiting every region of Nigeria that supported and participated in the genocide against the Children of God.
North East:
I dont need to write much on this as we all know this is the present theater of destruction, hunger, internal displacement and starvation...
North West:
This is the home region of the hausa fulani. The powerhouse of islamic radicalism.. Despite being in power the most in Nigeria and having some of the most powerful politicians and the richest blackman alive, the Northwest today is the home quaters of mass povery, starvation, illiteracy, mass hunger and begging.
Middle belt:
Despite working with the hausa fulani as a willing tool, to massacre over 2million innocent igbos during the civilwar to remain in Nigeria. Todays the middlebelt is at the receiving end of the hausafulani sweet beat. Their crops are being destroyed, women raped, infants and youth killed, churches burnt and people displaced from their ancestral homes, poverty, hunger and illiteracy is on the rise in the land.Karma is truly a bit..ch
Southsouth..
Though not all SS, but to be specific. The ijaws, ogoni and the mid western south south. They because of oil and political relevance connived with the hausafulani through ken saro wiwa, and isaac adaka boro, betrayed their close cousins and next door neighbour.. They instigated and supported the abandoned property in old riverstate and also supported all forms of political and economic marginalisation of the igbos, ibibios and efik, after the civil war in reward for political recognition, oil and other selfish intentions....but today, the oil they dont have control over, their land have been taken over by oil spilage, majority of their youths have become docile waiting for handouts from oil coy and government, they have the most corrupt leaders after the North in present Nigeria. The same igbos they instigated abandoned properties against have bought back all those properties and portharcourt is 95% in the hands of igbos once again. While Adaka boro and ken saro wiwa who were hausafulani willing tools were also murdered by the same hausafulani they served.
Southwest:
While Awo in his mind thought the civil war was an opportunity to give his yoruba people and advantage over the igbos, never in his mind would he have imagined that the igbos were going stage a miraculous recovery...he did all for power and hoping he would be president, but ended up committing suicide to avoid execution for treason...benjamin Adekunle came back to regret the war and died a wretched man. In his famous qoute in THE WEEKEND CONCORD in 1996 where he was qouted as saying “While some of us were dying in the battlefield for the restoration of Nigeria as one country,” he said, “some people have their eyes on one particular subject – oil, the live wire of the economy, the new fulcrum or pendulum of power. While we fought for one country, some people have been reaping where they did not sow. They have been reaping from bogus population figures fashioned to suit their selfish purposes”
Today, the once self acclaimed sophisticated region is now hotbed for ritualism, lazy and jobless youths, gambling, scam, failing indicies of all human development index falling behind the SE & SS, poverty, low standards of living, street begging and political thuggery. The southwest is fast loosing it economy to non indigenes..enterprenuership and hardwork is fast dying above all, Lagos has forever been lost with the igbos being the dominant colonisers, the gradual political capturing of lagos is already in progress with igbos producing House of Rep members in lagos....All is One Nigeria.
SouthEast
while the east has her own plagues because of our sins and denial of our God, I will highlight more of their blessing since they were at the receiving end of the genocide and nobody gave them a chance of recovery.
Despite the persecution, hatre, genocide, destruction of their homeland by invaders, the Southeast today is the heart and soul of whatever is remaining of Nigeria.
Of every 10 positive gains, record or achievement Nigeria has,the igbo alone contributes 6 while the rest of Nigeria shares 4..today the igbos have not only recovered, but have expanded rapidly to an unimaginable extent which keep attracting envy from other Nigerians, who are also amazed at the mystery behind the igbo spirit.
From lagos to abuja, to port harcout, to kano to ibadan to minna, to jos to markurdi to benin to calabar and to the whole of west africa, africa and beyound.. All these places arent complete without the igbo footprint. You cannot mention a made in Nigeria without Aba. You cannot mention commerce and Automobile without Nnewi amd Onitsha. You cannot talk about recreation and real estate without Enugu, Owerri and Awka. You cannot talk about agriculture without Afikpo, aguleri, enugu, okigwe and isikwato. The igbos today are the most educated Nigerians, they are the most travelled, most exposed hence most sophisticated Nigerians even without political power. They have the highest standard of living, the least poor people, they most peaceful region, the most energetic and enterprising people in black africa....
Today igbos can be said to be the most progressive Nigerians and the wheel of economic and social development in Nigeria.while the east is on the rise, the regions that partook in the genocide against them are either stagnant, declining, experiencing mass hunger, mass poverty or are in crisis.
As their properties were seized during the civil war, today they have not only bought them back, they have 60% to 75% of all the prime and choice properties in major cities like Abuja and Lagos...these is places have become their inheritance and will forever be. And never again will our properties be stolen from us again without a consequence. |
