oyb: manny - haba - police chiefs is the highest post, and it is less than half of of what any of the specialist doctors earn - if you want to go that route - then you want to compare with the salary of the head

what you should be looking at is Lt and below vs their doctor equivalents
you take the cake on stupidity,, you truly have no idea of what your talking about.. better shut ur strap, am just hoping your not this irritating and stupid outside nairaland.. a friend of mine a neurologist pays as much as 120,000$ for medical malpractice insurance,, he finances his student loans of 300,000 per month, on top of that runs his own little practise with the hospitals, where he pays staff, rents, equipments, taxes, bills and stuff... hoping he doesnt fck up and get sued.. u are just thinking its a walk in the park, whereas police officers get travel, restaurant, income tax, health, house, cars, gas stations discounts...

oyb: look at this dunce - are we talking about residents or full time doctors here?

is that another pathetic attempt at dodging?

do you realise just how stoopid that post was
your retard self should know!! so why ask the questions loser!! do u know how many years it takes to get done with residency?? or u dont consider that, u only see the post resident salary, in addition to the medical insurance, student debt, and lawsuits doctors get.. when u calculate the real figures from the raw, u dumb self would undertand.. police here get all kind of discounts, and privileges.. but u wouldn't know, maybe ur naija dotor sister would dumb mugu

oyb: http://mdsalaries..com/

The mean annual salary of a MD specialist is $175,011 in the US, and $272,000 for surgeons. However, because of commodity inflation, increasing negligent costs, steep price rise of rental, the annual salary range of a MD varies and is not rising as fast as other professional pay.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_enforcement_in_the_United_States#Salary

Salary varies widely for police officers, with most being among the top third of wage-earners, age 25 or older, nationwide.[11] In May 2008, the overall median was $51,410. The median salary for those at the federal level was $46,620, compared to $57,270 for those at the state level and $51,020 for those employed by local law enforcement agencies. The top 10% earned more than $79,680 and bottom 10% less than $30,070.
Post that of resident doctors,, do u know the average time it takes for a surgeon to complete residency.. almost a third of his total working years..
PoliticsRe: South Sudan Begs Nigeria Police For Training by miky(m): 11:02pm On Aug 21, 2012
manny4life: Who said doctors are the highest paid professionals? That is a highly misconstrued opinion you have. I know for a fact, most metro areas start out their field officers with $50,000+ to start, as they graduate over time, it goes into double figures. Police folks earn good money here, don't believe everything you hear. My state and county taxes pretty much goes into Education, Security (Police, Fire and Emergency), and Environment.
lol forget the guy,,i know friends still in residency for 3-5 years still making 40-50 G's..

oyb: can someone decipher this rubbish - the necessary evil of society by being killers of citizens huh huh cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

please stop forming med student it won't work with me - my closet friends , my sister, my dad are all doctors - you come off as one of those med school dropouts - that would explain your weak reasoning - go and blather about your heroic exposure to pathogens some place else - i dobt if you are even out of 100 level yet - come and brag after mbbs

ode - you claimed that police are alloed to kill people because they are in the hot sun 7 hours a day - well laborers market women, okada riders etal are also in the hot sun all day. by your infantile logic, they too should be murdering people

are you a troll or a fool? thats the only answer i can give for this bizarre statement
lol killers of criminal you fool... 100 level?? lol whats that BS...u mean naija medical doctors??

you must have been that black sheep in the family since everyone has achieved something u wish u could, u screw up.. its obvious u cant even articulate or answer the question,, its like trying to teach physics to someone who can't write..

Dude GTFOH with this crap, no one is denying that there is something evidently wrong with the nigerian police force, its probably not justifiable either.. But if u search your bottomless soul of a person, u would realistically come to the conclusion that u would probably do worse if you found yourself in such situations.. all theses stupid arguments for BS,, discuss how to fix the problem first, and fixing the nigerian police is priority over anything for now!!
PoliticsRe: South Sudan Begs Nigeria Police For Training by miky(m): 10:34pm On Aug 21, 2012
ifeci: Oga police get level and they are being paid according to their grade levels, u cant be a corporal and earn like a sergeant and their is room for them to improve them selves and earn more, the Nigerian system pays GVT workers majorly on the certificate you have. Most of those guys are primary six school leavers who refused to improve themselves. rather, they resort to collecting money on the streets so wot do u expect, they shld b paid thesame as the IG
I stay in ladue Mo USA.. the avg house is over 350,000$.. yet on every street corner a police man resides there, they make just as much as the doctors and business men around.. the starting requirement for a policeman is not even a high school diploma, but a lesser GED..

now i ask u question, what kind of class did u take or would they teach in school that prepares anyone for the police force?? and why do u feel paper education means squat to the police
PoliticsRe: South Sudan Begs Nigeria Police For Training by miky(m): 10:30pm On Aug 21, 2012
oyb: first of all - the job is not by force

as your betters have pointed out, you argument is idiotic at best - the streets of lagos are full of hawkers - perhaps they tooo should start breaking windscreens

even worse, the preferred victims of your long suffering police - the market women, the bus drivers, the hawkers the okada riders are working under these very same conditions

people like you disgust and frighten me with your bizarre the condition justifies the action arguments

everybody faces one form of stress or another in their job - for you that is an excuse for doing the wrong thing

wasted generation
You have got the thought process akin to a high school dropout, whats even funnier with your ridiculous post is that u fail to address with any logical reason as to why the police in nigeria do or don't face probably the worst police conditions on the planet...

The fact u fail to see the point shows how mind fVked u are.. U have people doing the necessary evil of society, by being killers themselves and u say "the work is not by force" u arrogant prick air-head!!

your plausible comparison of the police force to "market women and okada riders", unconsciously shows just how u regard the police force... In civilized countries with civilized citizens, they respect their military but most importantly their Police force, not because the force members and innately born with good, but because of the worth they are to a functioning society..

A moronic fella like u probably thinks the best way to circumvent the situation is to recruit more morally responsible persons right?? lol

Yeah obviously everyone faces stress at work, i would know better!! wink wink because i am constantly being exposed to pathogens and health hazards as a Medical Student, but mines is a work in the park for those lowly paid officers,, we all love to hate... FREAKING idiot!!

ifeci: I wouldn't call the police because they wouldn't come. in Nigeria, let me enlighten you, they usually come after the incident and when every where is calm. if the hear the sound of bullet from afar, they will turn and come bck later.
lol how come on every boko haram video or telecast, u see the poor policemen engaging in some kind of distress call.. i mean EVERY single one.. the poor folks are just sitting ducks for bh..

but like a typical unrealistic, non-thinking Nigerian u didn't answer, who would u call Jesus?? or would panic set in, and u call the police??

get this - nigeria is a hard country - everybody's life is hard in one way or another. if we all subscribed to you harebrained philosophy, i would be justified in running people over if i had a bad day at work

you children have absolutely no idea - because you somehow think it cannot happen to you or anyone dear to you. thats why you can make such mad excuses

you sound like those people who defended yahoo yahoo boys or militant kidnappers
Your worst day at an AC filled work office is the best a police man can wish for in his entire life!!! so dont seat there and talk about hardship.. go ask those people what they go through!!

i remembered driving around in abj on one of my recent trips back home, i saw one of the police dude standing there for a good 6-7 hours.. which other police force in the world requires

police men to become statues, and u expect them to be soft with u guys.. sheesh..One of my neighbors here in the usa is a police man not even a chief at that,, dude is leaving in prime

these internet nigerians cannot begin to imagine the atrocities nigerian police mete out on hardworking civilans everyday

how many lives they have destroyed

how many people they have murdered

how many people they have locked up for years without trial

the
'i will kill you, and nothing will happen' - one of the most famous police phrases
the fact you cannot think is what burders me huh huh arent police men nigerians? when they take off their uniform and stroll with their kids are they not nigerians?? you think they are just evil witches who decided to be police men to kill innocent nigerians?? or do u think maybe their job and BS they go through makes them that way... Maybe there is something wrong with nigerians? its called selfishness, arrogance and lack of understanding... i have family friends who are governors, and believe me its something thats evident in all nigerians...

whats even crazier is that u expect to see hardened trained killers (obviously good killers) working under situations thats unfair from the gov and citizens and expect they would be nice to you? u must be smoking on something..

NO LONG TIN: I read some people's comment and they agree with the head of police in South Sudan concerning Nigeria Police, who are we deceiving? we are Nigerians, its only strangers/outsiders that would believe in the Nigerian Police, they maybe better(now) cause the IGP sent them off the road(no more N50 bribe) but they aren't good role models for any country's police.
I dont believe in them, i would rather report to my uncle(in the military) than report to them, their usefulness to me in this country is 'collection of Police report'(in the case where my stuffs was misplaced or stolen).
Ask your military uncle how it would feel to get the salary and work hazard with BH that the police do...i guess all he does is sit his fat a$$ on some AC officehuhby the way if u think the military is any better than the police then u have ur head screwed to ur A$S... matter of fact they are the cause of this nonsense, after messing up the economy and country from 17 yrs of rule, and dont get me started on their killings in nigeria and on peace keeping missions too

To be honest, after reading this Chit any Nigerian police that responds to a situation that threatens their lives, be it Armed robbery or BH has to be the dumbest idiot alive!!.. its obvious Nigerians don't understand their situation or care less.. JTF and all those task force should resign and go look for bank work, yahoo yahoo is better too.. One idiots response was that "they knew what they were getting to b4 joining the force" what an arrogant and selfish airhead...
