Congratss to all who got their visas

Pls i have a few questions i would like to be cleared on before i proceed to apply.

Which tlscontact is the fastest? Abuja or Lagos?

Also, Which short stay has higher approval rate? Business or tourist?

What is the most recommended and affordable insurance one can get?

If don't have enough money in my personal account, can i use just my company?

What is the rough estimate for this process?

No information on which is faster between Lagos and Abuja.

Higher approval rate between tourist and business is dependent on how the application is packaged with the required documents.
-strong justification for the trip
-sufficient home ties
-sufficient funds and evidence of same
-proper evidence of activities to be carried out
-proper evidence of intended accommodation
-flight booking

If you present the required documents broadly covering this either for a business or tourist intention, then you have a high probability of being granted visa to their country.

For business, there's a high probability you'll be given those short stays (5 days, 7 days, 14 days), while tourist has a higher probability that you'll get a 1 month multiple for a start.

You can use your company account. But you have to provide strong justification why the company is sponsoring the trip. Because ideally, company finances is not supposed to be indiscriminately appropriated by you.

hello people

not sure you remember me.
But I tried applying again in September 2023, and she was refused on the grounds that she had more family in the UK than in Nigeria, which was not true. I contacted an immigration lawyer, and although the fees were exorbitant and didn't even include application fees. I was determined to see my mom, and I was going to pay. So I thought to try for the last time for my graduation in February. Instead of paying the lawyer, I decided to buy a return ticket and tried again in December.
I bought a flexible ticket just in case it went south .

The otp has a time frame you need to input it, once you don't input within that time frame, it'll expire. What I'm saying is: wait till that otp is expired, then put your phone number again and request for the otp, you'll receive it.

I experienced the same time and I did what I just said above.

Have you collected your passport? Was it positive?

I'm just trying to use the info to gauge their recent timeline

So untrue.
I believ it may be 50-50 citizen-rulers respectively.

It's not the citizens that sold us to the iron chains of the IMF and world slavery bank.
It's not citizens that destroyed the oil industry and made Ajaokuta commatose. It has always been the ruling class.

But for the citizens: envy, pull-him-down, hatred and lack of forgiveness, has destroyed the black community of Africans.

But we can repent, and seek godly and courageous ways. God will help us, Amin.

It is the citizens. They were in leadership positions.

The leadership have been changed several times with different citizens and the situation remains same.

Hello,

I just got the horrible news that my mom's UK visitor visa have been refused, and it looks like it is accompanied by a possible 10 years ban.
I live in the UK since 2020, I am Tunisian and German and my mom is Tunisian national.
It has been conviened that she will be sponsored by her husband, living with her in Tunisia. She provided her bank statements showing money that her husband has sent her. She have also attached bank statement of her husband proving the transaction and the sufficient funds as well as a letter from him as a sponsor. The application seemed strong as she provided multiple documents such as : birth certificate of all her kids, their attendance to school in Tunisia, proof of owning à house etc.
In the attached refusal letter, they state that the bank statement was a false document, which is a very serious accusation. It goes without saying that these statements came from her and her husband's bank, with the official stamp.
What caught our attention is the first paragraph outlining the reason. They state : "In support of your application you have provided a statement purportedly issued by BIAT Bank, with an account number ending XXXX which is in your name and is dated 31/10/23. Checks conducted by this office, contained in a DER and held on file, have concluded to a high degree of certainty that this document is not genuine." The issue here, is that XXXX is not her number account, but her husband's !!!! So what happened here? Did they mismatched both bank statement (her husband is also at the same bank) It is clear that her bank statements that are under her name have the number account YYYY and not XXXX.
This looks like a real ERROR from the end of the home office. Above all this, no way of appeal. Is it also an effective 10 years ban ?

These are serious allegations and could have really bad consequences. Can anyone advise us on what to do ?

Thanks a lot for taking the time.

Haifa

Probably a mismatch. The ECOs are not immuned to mistakes, they make quite a number of mistakes due to work pressure or personal issues.

Due to the consequence of this particular refusal bordering on alleged submission of "false document" you have to take this seriously.

Get the bank to write a letter authenticating both bank statements, with emphasis on the owners of each and and also providing clear paths of communication for verification.

Due to the consequence of this rejection, kindly get an immigration lawyer to review the refusal letter and write a PAP based on the areas of disagreement. The letter from the bank will play a role here.

PAP (Pre-Action Protocol) is a precursor to a full Judicial Review (JR) of the decision. Home Office decisions are not a final nail on the coffin as parties can still seek the help of the courts.

This should not be a problem to you as stated you are resident in the UK.

Thanks to everyone for their input here and for the guy who gave idea on properly formatting all documents in a pdf with table of contents. I think it helps with straightforwardness of applications.

Used same method for my mum and sister in-law's mum's visas and both were granted.

Standard visas gotten in about 5working days. Abuja and Portharcourt TLS.

Thanks be to God and to the wonderful people here answering questions.

Solid idea for those with loads of documents.

I think it's also better for those with lots of confusing documents to do self scan.

Those guys at TLS are usually irritated when you try to ensure they do not miss out anything or try to guide them on the pattern of arrangements that will make the whole thing make sense.

They usually demonstrates irritation and want to do it their own way.

If you are not reapplying so soon or intend to reapply. You can send A letter to them explaining why you deserve the visa if their concerns has been answered in your application.

You should send a pre-action protocol (PAP) letter to Home Office UKVI before filing an immigration Judicial Review (JR) in Court and ask the Home Office UKVI to reconsider its refusal decision within 14 days.

What Is A Pre-Action Protocol (PAP)
A pre-action protocol (PAP) letter is a letter written to the Home Office, UKVI in order to try and resolve a dispute concerning an immigration matter before Judicial Review (JR) proceedings are started against the Home Office UKVI. A Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) letter may also be called a ’letter before claim’ or a ’letter before action’. All of these terms refer to the same thing.

Purpose Of Pre-Action Protocol (PAP)
The purpose of pre-action protocol (PAP) letter is to identify the issues in dispute and establish whether litigation with the Home Office, UKVI can be avoided. The letter contains the date and details of the immigration decision (the refusal letter), act or omission of the Home Office UKVI being challenged and a clear summary of the facts on which the Judicial Review claim against the Home Office, UKVI is based. It also contains the details of any relevant information that the applicant is seeking from the Home Office, UKVI and an explanation of why this is considered relevant.

Response To Pre-Action Protocol (PAP)
Immigration Judicial Review (JR) proceedings against the UKVI are not normally issued until the proposed reply date given in the letter before claim has passed, unless the circumstances of the immigration case require more immediate action to be taken. Home Office UKVI, should normally respond to letter before action (pre-action protocol letter) within 14 days and Home Office UKVI may face cost implications for failure to respond to pre-action protocol (PAP) letter unless there are good reasons for not responding within that period.

An application for permission to apply for Judicial Review can be filed in the Upper Tribunal or Administrative Court (High Court), as the case may be, if the Home Office, UKVI do not respond to the pre-action protocol letter within 14 days or the Home Office UKVI responds within 14 days but maintains their decision to refuse the immigration application.

The protocol does not affect the time limit specified by CPR Part 54.5(1) namely that an application for permission to apply for Judicial Review (JR) must be made promptly and in any event not later than 3 months after the grounds upon which the claim is based first arose.

Mail to send the letter to:

UKVIPAP@homeoffice.gov.uk

Per the bold parts...
Does that mean those that files PAP/JR are sort of victimised?

I know someone with 40k plus in the account, who was granted, but it was a company sponsored visit. I filled the application and put £20 on the amount to personally spend based on the closing balance on the statement the person dropped.

And this reminds me how Agents can ignorantly mislead. The agent consulted to look the application over kept aguing with me that the amount the company (sponsor) is committing should be repeated in the column for the amount to personally spend.

I disagreed and explained the wording. We argued and argued, I read it out over and over but he kept insisiting that it's his job that he has been running for years and knows better.

It never made sense to me and I stood my ground, and he gave a caveat that I should be held responsible if that part causes the application to be refused.

And it was quite refreshing that the application was granted. Even other colleagues going for same program with better eye popping closing balance were refused; principally centered around deposits in account either with or without explanation.

One of the major problems in Nigeria is the mindset that we can bribe our way out of any situation.

People deliberately go on a wrong path and afterwards try to use emotional blackmail or bribes.

There's no way if a proper search was done on those lands that it will not reveal that the place is under govt acquisition.

Whatever survey you are given for a land to be bought, abeg, carry am go lands bureau for verification or consult a land lawyer to do proper checks for a small amount of money. As at the time these lands were bought, i doubt it will cost above 50k to give a lawyer to do all the findings on the land.

People know these things actually. But they just form smart and settle some people believing money sorts out all issues. And that is why Nigeria is like this!

Well I have left Nigeria in a long time I don’t know if they change the system, as at then I work with a private firm but I have that TIN card

Understandable. But then, if one does not have updated info, one has to be circumspect when providing information to the public so as not to mislead others.

I personally tried to make LIRS to issue Tax IDs for employees themselves without the need to request their NIN/BVN, but they refused, insisting either NIN or BVN should be used by employers or the Tax Payer to generate it.

TIN is from FIRS while what states issue is Tax Payer ID.

Pay As You Earn/Personal Income Tax goes to states for almost 99% of workers.

In Lagos state, you need either BVN or NIN to generate Tax payer ID for an individual.

My mom’s visa is out - Standard Application
Biometrics- 2nd of August 2023
Collection mail - 10th August 2023
TLS VI - visa collected today. We said date of travel for end of month but the Vo decided to put 15th as start date🤦‍♀️

What I submitted:

So, I was initially updating the document one by one, but I felt it was going to confuse the VO and decided to merge them based on the check list that was provided after visa application.
I created a Table of Contents in the first page for each checklist and listed the document and the page number.
I used I love PDF to merge all the docs with the table of content, it was work but I think it made the application very straightforward. In all I submitted 7 Pdf files

1. Evidence of Ties to Home Country – proof of ties to home country
— Letter of Visa Application by my mom where she declared what she does and what she is coming to do in the UK as well as declaration to abide by the laws of the land in terms of no recourse to public funds. In the Letter, she stated relationship between herself and the sponsor.
— Attestation Letter from her Parish Vicar
— Attestation Letter from where she currently lectures part time (note that I stated she was self-employed in the application)
— Attestation Letter from Late husband’s workplace and how long they have known her
— Land documents/ Receipt of Properties
— Pictures of my mom at Work and with other siblings in Nigeria ( I used Microsoft to build a template where I inserted pictures and stated what each of them was and where they were taken including the date they were taken)

2. Evidence of funds available to you
— Merged Bank statements of my mom’s personal accounts, created a table of content for each statement.
This was my biggest fear, cos during application, I asked my mom what she feels is her annual income and she said 500K, only for her to print statement and one statement had inflow of 6million+ with outflow of 5.9million, 6 months statement oh. Balance was 174,000 naira. I shock.
Her other statement too – inflow of 300,000 and outflow of also 260,000+ under 6 months. Summary is as she gets money, she distributes to different people as a good Samaritan that she is.
I questioned her and she said Nigeria is tough, she cannot have and not help people that come to her for help. Okay ngwanu,
*I didn’t include any letter of explanation because I didn’t want to draw any attention to it since she was being fully sponsored. And cos I filled 60k as her monthly expense in the application but was seeing expenses of over 250k in a month from her statement. SMH!
— Land document and Property receipt to show ownership (I also didn’t explain anything)

3. Evidence that Sponsor is not in breech of UK Immigration laws. – This also had a table of contents and page number of every doc in it
— BRP (back and front scans of me and my spouse’s BRB)
— International Passports data pages
— Visa Approval Letter from UKVI

4. Evidence of Support from Sponsor – Letter of invitation
— Letter of invitation stating how we were solely funding the visit, confirming relationship, current workplace, residential address, financial competence and stating that she wouldn’t pose as a financial burden to the UK. Attached phone number and email address and wet signed the Letter. (Just One page letter but very straight to the point)

5. Invitation from UK based family/evidence to be in the UK.
I still attached the letter of invitation here.
— Proof of reason why she was coming. – mainly pictures which I labelled all
— Proof of address – utility bill (only water and light)
— Proof of residency status – still attached BRP here too.

6 Evidence of Support from Sponsor
— 6 months merged Bank Statements – me and my spouse labelled each page on the table of content.
— Work employment contract of sponsor
— Payslips to show monthly/weekly income.
I didn’t draft any letter of explanation to explain anything cos the balance on the statements was adequate and transactions were clear.

7. Evidence of Relationship with Sponsor
— Merged – Birth cert showing her and my dad, my baptism cert, my marriage cert, wedding pictures far back where she featured, legal name change of spouse.
— Pictures of different events we have attended together, labelled all using MS word and converted to pdf

Highly detailed work

We challenged the ECO decision last month for reconsideration, like I said previously it is not all the ECO that knows what he or she is doing, some roasted me for that statement, I have seen so many refusals that made absolute no sense, they are humans, they have hormones too we have the bad eggs among them who just refuse you based on flimsy excuse(s).
I didn’t take the second refusal likely, as there was no difference between the previous refusal which was last year, and the this recent one and it is based on financial grounds( enough sufficient funds with proof). (Looked more like a copy and paste to me ) Pre action protocol (PAP) was sent to the home office giving them 14days to reconsider before taking it further to court for JR.
They responded on the 14th day and yes a senior caseworker in his/ her right senses looked at the evidence submitted and he/she did agreed it was sufficient enough to grant the entry clearance visiting visa in the first place.
If we had accepted fate and re - apply the third time it MAY be refused again and that is too much dent, although they claim every new application(s) is decided based on its merit but I do not want to believe they do not look at your past history with them in concluding.
So fingers crossed on when my aunt and her children will be asked to bring their passports, it shouldn’t take up to 3months sha.
Sometimes you just have to push some buttons.
Don’t let the refusal bring you down, but first, do the right thing.
And good luck to everyone.

Nice!

I have said it here in the past that they do a lot of copy and paste. Once they check previous refusal reason, they will just pick most especially the financials and once its not straightforward and simple as abc, they will not take proper time, but will just paste what they copied from their template as reason for the denial. And move on, using that quick one to meet work targets.

But wait, I thought they usually say visit visas are not elligible for administrative review/appeal. Or was it a dependent/family visa?

Goodmorning house.
Kindly can anyone give suggestions on how to get appointment slots?

You may have to get in touch with a travel agent conversant with that particular VAC. They usually know the insider to settle and get appointment. But this is a not so good an option, as it will keep encouraging them on this path of corruption until the stakes gets to damning proportions.

Naija corruption system is gradually taking over visa appointment slots at all the VACs.

Its just sad, very sad that whatever they put in care of our Naija people gets messed up with corruption due to our lack of discipline and penchant for getting ahead of the queue.

None of them is an exception. Serious appoinment racketeering is going on at BLS, VFS and TLS. Money is changing hands on a daily basis. The embassys needs to do something real fast.

A simple EFCC presence and investigation of staff will reveal a lot and will reset their brains for a while.

goodday good people, i am interested in traveling to Spain on a 2years visit visa but here's my problem.

i heard its difficult for virgin passports holders to get a visit visa to Spain.

its not my first time traveling, i have previously visited Indonesia, but i lost my passport there and was giving a pass at the Nigerian embassy in Jakarta which i used in coming back to Nigeria.

now that i wish to travel to Spain i am required to apply for another passport to use for the travel.
my question is, is there any chance my previous travel history to Indonesia can reflect on this new passport i am yet to collect?, so as to remove me from the first time traveller circle and help me stand a better chance of succeeding in my application for a Spanish visiting visa.

thanks.

I don't think Scheghen-Spain issues a 2-year visa. Although, I know of a frequent traveller, who has been issued a Schenghen-France 3 years visa in the past, but the person travels every now and then.

Schenghen 1st visas can start from 1 week to 1 month depending on how your application is structured.

If you made a scan/photocopy of your indonesian visa and old passport, simply submit them alongside your application.

Otherwise, I don't know any other way. Unlike UK applications, I don't think Schenghen has anywhere on their forms that request for your travel history.

Your lost passport should serve as lesson for people to always make a soft copy of their visas and travel history from time to time.

Hello everyone good evening please I want to get an information about Spain visa if anyone get Spain visa recently in Lagos I had they are not giving Nig from Lagos this time pls I will be Glad to get a response

Tnx

I was given in Lag. Though I've gotten a Schengen visa in the past if you care to know. I was surprised as it seems to me it took quite a while compared to @KOLAPO3 experience. Did biometrics on the 1st of this month, passport was dispatched back to BLS on the 20th, the proposed travel date on my application.

A big thanks @KOLAPO3. Your post was really helpful.

Nairaland is a solid repository of helpful information.
