princejeto:The usual documents for visa processing. -Proof of funds (account statements) -hotel reservation (unpaid) -Employment letter -Leave letter from employer -Past and current visas -Pictures from previous travel - Tour reservation (unpaid) |
Oladim001:Well, the 2 visas I processed and got feedback last month and this month for myself and sibling respectively, we both got till end of passport expiry. Not a joint application, we applied independently of each other for tourism. We both have our separate families and both based locally in Naija. |
mhoreh:Leave the expiry date unfilled. Put only the start date if you have it. |
Milito:PPR alert. Submitted 29th July Biometrics 30th July BVL: 20th Aug PPR: 20th Aug |
Afolavid:You should be able to get details here: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/can/passport-submission |
Afolavid:I submitted mine in Lagos. Didn't book any appointment. Just went to VFS and told them I wanted to submit passport based on Canada PPR and I was let in. Documents I took along: PPR letter The passport itself Copy of passport datapage earlier stamped by VFS Another copy of passport datapage. Didn't take time at all. I think I was done in less than 30mins. Didnt pay for courier or sms. I told them I'll pick up by myself. I submitted on a Friday and on Monday, I was notified by email that my passport was ready for collection. They spammed me with quite a number of emails on that Fri and on the Monday. It was quite irritating. |
ekepo:Was the person denied boarding here in Lagos? This is quite peculiar. Probably the visa is fake or have been flagged after issuance. Send an email to IRCC and keep us updated please. |
jeswinner:Well, they asked for it on the form. And in the interest of honesty, its better you respond accordingly. |
Nnekkyneks:Congrats. The Italian embassy and delays are 5 and 6. You just have to be patient. It shouldn't exceed 6 weeks max. |
PPR finally drops ![]() I applied with valid US visa and thought it'll make it faster based on what I read here. I also have a friend that got PPR within 2 weeks of applying with valid US visa. But mine even took longer than current standard processing timeline. Not sure, but I suspect the delay may be due to the UK visa refusals I bagged in the past in conjunction with my use of the new IRCC site, which some people said is automated. Anyways, detailed timelines presented below: Submission: May 9 Biometrics: May 12 BVL: July 9 13th July: I noticed visa number and expiry date on my tracker site, which sort of indicates approval (but no PPR). On 23rd July, I raised webform that application has significantly gone past recently published processing timeline. PPR drops: 31st July Thanks guys. All the best to the people still waiting. NB Applied with following documents eventhough they are optional: -Personal and my company's account statement -Self introduction and explanation letter. -Booked tours (unpaid) from GetYourGuide. -Previous visas and travel history (US, UK & Schengen). -hotel reservation. -family documents - marriage & children birth certs, landed property. -Pictures taken during previous travels. -NIN slip |
hayyawithme:The application I did recently on the old IRCC site, the upload page was not the last page. There are still like 2 pages after it before proceeding to payment. As I said earlier, there's a page where one only inputs names, which serves as signature on the form, and I think there's even still another page with some stories after this. The application I'm talking about is for a single person though and not family. Maybe you should take a screenshot of the page for us to see. You can blur out personal info. |
agabusta:2mb |
hayyawithme:You didn't provide answers to the other questions below When you continue clicking save/next up to the payment page, is there a specific error message? |
hayyawithme:When you continue clicking save/next up to the payment page, is there a specific error message? Which page precisely are you stuck on? Because after that upload page, it'll take you to a page to input 1st name and last name, which serves as signature and from there to payment page I think. Also, are you using the old IRCC site or the new IRCC? On the side, I guided my Bro in filling his form and convinced him to use the old IRCC site just yesterday and everything went smoothly. I nudged him to use the old IRCC site in order to have an opportunity to compare both the old and new, as I used the new IRCC earlier in May 2025. Yet to receive PPR for that one eventhough visa number already showing on tracker. I had valid US, UK and Schengen visas when I applied. For the new application, Submitted 29th July Biometrics 30th July This person is a frequent traveller with valid US, UK and Schengen visas but 1st time applicant to Canada. Further timelines will be shared for the sake of enriching the platform with information. Before submitting, estimated processing time for visitor visas applied for in Nigeria was 47 days. |
Ifasanya2022:No |
bcolat21:What is the groom's status in Canada? |
yomirukky:TO LOGIN https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login Kindly note that you'd need to set up a profile to use the tracker. It won't let you login with your previous IRCC details. |
sanyaolurilwan:3 weeks plus ➕️ or minus ➖️ some days. Except you pay for premium appointment, and you'll be able to pick up faster, within a week plus or minus some days. |
yoyome20:Application on new IRCC site. Submission May 9 Biometrics May 12 BVL Jul 9 Application status: In progress Noticed visitor visa document number and expiry started showing on IRCC tracker Jul 13 Eligibility: completed Background verification: In progress Decision: No decision yet No PPR yet Last updated: showing on tracker is Jul 13. |
pufframmy:Thanks pufframmy |
oluayebenz:Thanks for your response. Its a day before my passport expiry date in 2034. |
Tracker site showing Visitor visa document number and expiry date but also at same time showing background verification still ongoing but for eligibility, completed. 🤷🏽♂️ On the New IRCC site no Passport request message. And similar to the tracker site, eligibility completed, background check in progress, and for Application decision: 'No decision made'. 🤷🏽♂️ Is something amiss? Or I just need to exercise more patience. |
Cashmadam:Madam Cashmadam, you need to calm down and understand the context of my writeup. Mock how? You obviously did not comprehend the premise of my writeup, which is based on previous interaction with the person I quoted. There's a trail, follow it to understand. I proudly live in a local domain in Naija so pardon me if I say Heathrow London/ London Heathrow or Or even Lagos MMA or MMA Lagos. ![]() |
Efetobore1980:One key point you seem to be missing is that a lot of people that are well traveled are usually more relaxed and confident during such interviews. And they statistically have more approvals. This confidence is achieved among other things, through international exposure. That is why one must strive not to be a local champion. ![]() When you have faced and answered immigration questions at different parts of the world; that exposure and experience, as simplistic as it sounds, makes one more relaxed, confident and explicit when facing similar travel scrutiny. Even our Naija immigration knows. That is why when they are playing their gimmicks to extort at the airport, when they flip through your passport and see plenty stamps like this, they just try to beg you for money and wave you on. But those with non or just one or 2, you'll see them trying to intimidate and extort them. I once met one knuckle head immigration officer at Stansted London who kept on interrogating more than I've ever faced. I swear, if that was my 1st travel, I'd have been totally destabilised and may mistalk. My previous experience guided me in calmly answering his questions and providing all he requested. I even still asked him "Will that be all?" After he kept quiet and was staring and staring at his monitor. He finally gave me the usual fake UK smile and stamped me in. |
cris83:US Non Immigrant Visa (NIV) fees as at today is 294,150.00 NGN. The price may fluctuate with movement in forex values. |
Jane8999:Thanks for sharing your experience. Don't feel too disappointed, millions of people have experienced same. It doesn't define you in any way. Just encourage yourself and retool. Everyone that has gone through this path know visa denial can be extremely draining because of all the time, efforts, money and emotions invested in the endeavour. Just work on your home ties, economic circumstance and international travel experience. These are the basic foundation for getting visas easily. Please remove Dubai from that your list, those guys are just a waste of resources; instead, direct such reaources to other tourist-choice locations or European countries. They've even made it extremely difficult for Naija to visit their country. If you have the financial capacity and a stable job with good pay, try and build your travel profile in this order: Go to Schengen this year, UK next year, then try US again. The funds you plan to use to travel to the US this year, deploy it to travel to another western country. Previous travels are important in demonstrating you do not have immigration intent. And it's always easier to get visas if your previous travels follow a pattern. For example, say 2021 holiday in Morocco, 2022 in Spain, 2023 in France, 2024 in UK, etc With a good pay and stable job, you should be able to get a Schengen visa if packaged properly. Try France, they give the most visas. And they treat applications relatively faster. |
Processing time seems to have reduced to 2 months plus. What's happening?? People are no longer applying?? Or the system has been improved to process faster?? By the way, I recently got Biometrics Validation message, after doing biometrics 2 months back. What this about?

Debbieeeeeee:Damn! |
ajibolag:It is not France and UK visa that qualify someone for a supervisa, I didn't say that. Super Visa is a type of Canadian visitor visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit Canada for extended stays, up to 5 years at a time, with multiple entries permitted over a 10-year period. It's designed to facilitate family reunification and allows for longer visits compared to a standard visitor visa. |
Kamsy2220:Oh nice. So in essence its a Super visa, which may be the reason it was treated speedily. Well done ✔️ |
clayfounder:So why are you roaming the thread and being sarcastic? Abi you have a side gig with IRCC to discourage as many people as you can? |
amnotapervert:Nahhhh. But I just find it funny the way that poster I quoted is always all over the place about asylum seekers. While its a good thing to educate and hint people about the limitations and disadvantages of trying to claim asylum most especially dishonestly, but its distasteful the way some people make enquiries about visa an asylum-seeking intention. |
