tyrant25:This is so bland without any specifics. Maybe you are unmarried and they just have a bad feeling about your profile. This people are probably running short on their quota at this period and have decided to be frugal with their approvals. I would advise you apply and travel to Schengen at this time and then come later to reapply to the UK. Don't take it to hard on yourself. You kind of did everything right. |
Abbebbay:So Abbebbay, which day was your own biometrics? Have you gotten a feedback? |
Abbebbay:I'm fine, thanks. Not yet. With the crowd I met at VFS Ikeja on that day, 17th, the day before the good Friday, I already know getting a feedback may not be as quick as current trend before that day. I guess a lot of people wanted to get their application in before the Easter holiday. I do not know how VFS did it, but the place was in total chaos on that day with multitude of people. There was a lot of pushing and shoving to get access into the facility. It was unbelievable. Total breakdown of order. |
brainhack201:Sorry, but that was a big red flag. They'll check the previous application and see the reasons. Now, for not including it, they'll assume you want to play smart and hide things. The UK application requires patience and painstaking planning after previous refusals. So instead of keeping mummy's statement aside after her last refusal, you guys should have started preparing for this one by ensuring her account is clean of any other credit asides her pension, since you said she's retired. All other transactions should be done with another account. With that ommission, I doubt this refusal can be successfully challenged. So just start planning for next application. I believe 6 months should be sufficient. Keep her account clean and also build your own personal savings consistently. During the application, dwell on her social and economic ties here in Nigeria with documents and pictures. Religious activities, neighbourhood activities, social group activities, family duties and responsibilities to immediate and extended family here in Naija, etc You also should put out a compelling cover letter explaining that it is more economical for her to visit your young family over there than your entire family coming over to Naija with a young baby. Try and put this behind you and look positively ahead. |
brainhack201:This looks so much like the ECO was just shopping around for what to use to turn down the application. How can you say presence of her Son, daughter in law and grand child holds more significance for her to stay put in the UK than her other 2 daughters. Now, when multiple credits are flagged in applicant's account, ECO usually say "credits not from your employer with origins unknown, but this one conveniently was not explicit, just said "was used to inflate account." Also, did you indeed omit your mum's account statement? We have even seen a number of people being sponsored that didn't drop their account statement and which came out successful. The thing I suspect is that those ECOs are probably overworked and always prefer to play safe by rejecting applications instead of putting in the work to provide justification for approving such. And they are generally biased against people with prior refusal. |
Mediza:March??! 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ |
Abbebbay:I did on the 17th. I can't wait to have my passport back. Need it for another trip. I guess the public holidays may extend processing time. Both the Easter holidays and Workers day. |
zinachidi:I do not think it has to do with the wording. No special wording. I just put it there that I'm unable to reschedule appointment and stated that error message of no receipt found. They are probably overwhelmed with complaints. I still have pending issue of a family member on that AVITS running to 6 months. Also, you were asked not to raise multiple complaints/request on same issue, which you seem to ignore by your statement that you've raised 6 request already. Its multiple escalations like this that puts everybody on endless queues. |
zinachidi:I raised a complaint request on Avits. After some time, I logged on and saw the issue resolved. |
Hello guys, is the biometrics fee also paid online on IRCC site or at VFS site? If both are paid on IRCC, are they paid together or separately? I gathered Visa fees is CAD100. What's the cost for biometrics pls? Can local card be used for biometrics payment or both payments must be done with an international card? |
Chelseaboy101:This same thing happened to me late last year when I applied to France. The reservation cancelled after some few days, I was initially worried, but the guys here put my mind to rest. I wasnt contacted by the French authorities though, but I did the rebooking again, which still cancelled itself again after 2 days. I got tired & just left the matter. I was relieved that it didn't affect the application as the visa was approved. Interestingly, when I actually travelled in Feb, the reservation I did got cancelled again! I was already in Doha for some days before heading to Paris and was facing getting stranded without where to stay. I had to go directly to the actual hotel website to make a reservation the night of my flight, which was even cheaper than the initial one I did with booking.com that got cancelled. Something seems to be wrong with booking.com and Access Bank card. Even the bookings I did recently to renew some other visa, still got cancelled after some days. I've complained to booking.com and all they say is to rebook. Did you by chance also used Access Bank card? |
Debbieeeeeee:Tnx |
Hey guys, Please, is the physical copy of passport required for/during biometrics? |
donteebalo:Does it also apply if the US visa is yet to be used? |
glorious23:You cannot edit an already submitted form. But you can fill a new form and same contact details. Hoever, when booking appointment, just ensure to use the DS-160 form number of the form you eventually want to use for the application. If you have already booked an appointment and have need to change the DS-160 form you want to use, you'll raise a service request about this on your AVITS profile and it will be done from the backend for you. |
Milito:Lagos (frequent traveller categorisation) Application Submission: 17th March Biometrics date: 4th April Passport collection: 16th April |
workpc:Like 3 weeks +/- some days ahead. |
sirrotex:The address and telephone number should be on the booking. Scroll to the last part of it. If it's not there, put the hotel in Google and search. |
knicks231:The amount currently showing on AVITS is 284,900.00 NGN |
giselle237:Late 2023 I also know someone who got US visa while on visit to the UK |
Mosun88:You definitely should be able to get a future date. If it's next week Fri you are unable to book, probably because it may be a public holiday. |
Gwinz:Sorry, I have no info on this. |
hunee:Lagos. |
MsAnonymous:A friend paid on 17th March, was able to book biometrics appointment thereafter for Apr 4th, last week Fri. He was categorised as frequent traveller. |
Cashmadam:Jokers those touts. One was frantically prevailing on me to allow him staple my passport photo on my DS-160 form for free, that it is required. He was later threatening that I better do that now to avoid some unknown consequences. They start from there, offering a seemingly free service before they go deeper confusing people and extorting them. |
Donde:If the details are entered correctly, it follows that the visa is yet to he issued by the Embassy. Quite unusual with respect to the time. Probably you should send an email to the embassy or call. |
Cashmadam:Thanks! Though, the imminent trip of one partner is to another country and not the UK. So the plan is just to apply and get the visa ahead, then make the coming trip to another country and on return the other partner's passport would be ready and also in for UK processing. If a couple's application is indeed assigned to different ECOs, I'd hazard a guess that there should be no harm applying at different intervals (2 weeks apart) eventhough they indicated they are to travel together. Furthermore, guys, please, can one reschedule a standard free appointment on this new VFS? |
Donde:Is this Lagos or Abuja? Have you confirmed that the embassy has issued the visa? https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx Use this to check issuance status ☝🏽 The response if issued should be the attached pic Did you opt for free pickup or paid delivery? Someone in Lagos had interview 1st week in March and picked up passport free at DHL Muri Okunola 1st week in Apr.

Hello madam, Please if a couple indicate they are traveling together, must they submit application same time? Do you have any idea if couple/family application are treated together? So basically, the passport of one of them is with another embassy at the moment while the 2nd person wants to quickly apply, get it over with in order to have his passport at hand to make a quick trip before their planned joint trip. |
A close friend did biometrics at VI yesterday 4th and got the email it has been transferred to the embassy same yest. 👌🏾 Another opportunity to review France Schengen timeline. I will share his response date afterwards. He earlier had 1 Schengen visa he used only once, but I was surprised that despite just that 1 use, he was still categorised as frequent traveler. |
My passport pick up date at DHL has now been declared as public holiday. Has anyone been in this situation before? Do they work on public holidays? Or I should just go the next working day, eventhough that is now not my appoinment date. |
