Fancygurl23:
Hi. I started having big breasts even before I clocked 16. They kept getting bigger and bigger as I aged. I'm 23 now and my breasts are bigger than I want them to be.

My breasts get in the way of the lifestyle I want to live. As a young child I always wanted to be an athlete but my big breasts became a hindrance.

I also have an interest in modeling cos I'm tall but my big breasts prevent me from wearing most dresses. Even wearing normal dresses are a problem for me. Breasts are always shooting out making me appear slutty when I don't want to be.

And then there is the unnecessary attention. Men always starring at me like I was an alien. I want to be approached because I'm beautiful and smart, not because I have big boobs

I hate my boobs and I want to reduce them. I inquired about surgery but the payment is in the range of over a million naira. I don't have such money.

Is there any local herb or something I can eat or drink to reduce my breasts? Are there medications I can take?

Please this is a serious question and I had to create a new account for it cos I don't want people trolling me with my main account.

I think you're beautiful. Surgery comes with after effects and long term implications. There's a guy out there who'll adore you for you and who'll be glad to have you forever. Keep your head high and be confident. You rock.

You were obviously in Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene. The name you mentioned was in my set, Benue River House. Sorry for your pain and trauma bro.

EmekaStanley:
I watched with annoying disgust the video of a young boy who was wriggling in pains on a hospital bed due to the brutality meted out to him at school by his follow school mates. Story has it that he was tortured by a group of boys who were cultists. because he refused to join them.

The boy's dad said the cult boys came to his room and started beating him and stomping on him, after which they gave him a substance to drink. Eventually the boy died. This is too much to happen in a secondary school.

Bullying has been a hydra-headed beast from long ago. I also suffered while I was a boarder in a secondary school somewhere in Southern Part of Nigeria.

I had a couple of bad cases but the most painful of them all and that which has stuck in my memory was with the case of a senior student then, called Niyi Lasisi. That's his real name. I don't know if he is on this platform but if this goes viral whereby he sees it, I'd love it.

Niyi made me and a fellow roommate of mine engage ourselves in a marathon slap over a disagreement I had with the roommate. The worst of it all was that Niyi made sure that the slaps were heavy on the 'receiver' else the 'giver' will receive an extra slap as a penalty. It was brutal and arguably the most traumatic experience I had as a Junior student.

I almost quit school even though I was just a beginner but for some reason my Dad allowed me to choose if I wanted to quit or not and I chose to stay. If I see Niyi today, I'll look him straight in the eyes and tell him, "You know what Niyi, You really sucked, I don't know if you still suck now though".

My Dad visited and noticed my bad looking cheeks, he took me to my guardian who also doubled as my housemaster but that was the last I heard of anything about it.

There are many 'Niyis' in our boarding schools; Students who see nothing in deriding and brutalizing their fellow students. They go home and exhibit signs of this anti social behaviors and the parents see nothing of a big deal out of it, thereby releasing them to cause problems for others.

What manner of effrontery would warrant a set of secondary school students to damn repercussions and torture a fellow student up to the extent that the student has visible marks of torture and eventually dying as a result of it. You can imagine how deadly they'll become by the time they get to the University.

Their acts were dastardly and it speaks terribly about the culture in the school; the school might be breeding unwholesome kids for the society. It is good news that the Lagos State Government has shut down the school indefinitely.

Investigations should be carried out to determine the extent of this menace in that school and all those found culpable in the boy's death should be made to face the law squarely.

As a parent, what are you doing in order to introduce a wholesome human being in to the society? Please do not leave the moral upbringing of your child or ward in the hands of the school, you do not know what is going on in the school.

It is great to give your child the best in education but providing all their needs do not make up for their discipline and good upbringing.
Your child is your primary gift to the nation; they either contribute positively to it or they drag it in the mud and it is your responsibility as a parent to put this right.

Paying heavily for school fees is not where the job ends, you might just be paying to have a terror disturb the peace of other kids in same school...literally.

The nation is where it is today because of the family values inculcated in those who have ruled this nation from the onset till now. There is no point pointing one finger at the government for them to do things right whereas the other 4 fingers of yours are pointing back at you saying, "Okay...yeah you are right but what about your own kids, what are doing to make them better"?

You can't be complaining of a bad nation yet you are putting little or no effort in training 'nationable' kids. Your biggest national responsibility is to hand over a roundly trained citizen to the government....that's all. And who are the government? It's you, me and everyone else.

Now you as a parent, don't send your kids to school only to have some ill-mannered untrained kid bully them for you. How can you do this?
Encourage your kids to speak up and speak out no matter how threatened they may be. Ask them questions and demand answers. If you find anything suspicious, scream down the roof, shout, go to the school and make a hell of noise.

Become a lioness defending her cub.

Involve the social media, talk to the police, the lawyers or anyone that can hear you at that time. Don't go pursuing money while your child is being wrecked in school.

This nation has got to be better and it starts from the family circle. If more people put their families right, it will translate to a better nation.

Health / Re: Bad Breath Wants to kill me! Help! by Mims2016(m): 9:41pm On Nov 11, 2020
You may have an underlying health issue which is responsible for the bad breadth. Consult an ENT doctor in any teaching hospital as soon as you can.

BadBreathBoy:
This guy called bad breath have haunted me all the way from primary school down to secondary and even to my university level.

I am still a young 19 years old guy at the peak of youthfulness but this guy is just ruining everything for me.
My self-esteem, public speaking skills, social life, confidence, in fact, everything has been smashed with a sledgehammer right in my face.
I have turned into an introvert because of this bad sickness but will cover it up with "Money on my mind" shït.

I have tried everything possible guys.
Below are kinds of stuff that I have tried and it is not working.

1. Visiting a dentist.
6 months ago, I took all the money I had to go over to the dentist in search of a solution. Had to wait for hours before getting attended to.
When the doctor came in, she first started with some words of encouragement.

Telling me I might not have bad breath and all, people might be thinking they have it but don't blah blah blah.
(So me that have bad breath I don't know what I am saying right?)
After much talk, she recommended flossing and cleaning.
That exercise where water passing through a tiny hole at high speeds is used to remove plaque from in between your teeth.
I had to shell out a whopping 4k for that plus the extra card of 500.
All the money I saved was gone just like that.
It didn't work!!! Bad breath still held me down.

2. Brushing twice a day. I did this for 1 week straight up without any improvement relative to the hard work put in. So I became less consistent with this. Toothpaste I have tried includes, Oral B, MyMy, Maclean, Close up, name it. Didn't work.

3. Garlic and ginger. Some persons here on Nairaland recommend that ginger and garlic can be used to drive off bad breath. The prescription was to swallow it whole before going to bed at night then brush in the morning to remove the after-effects.
I tried this for one week. Didn't work.

4. Mouthwash: I have wasted more than 4k in buying mouthwash but these things are just 2 hours wonder from the moment of application.
I get fresh breath for the time being but after like 3 to 4 hours, the bad breath keeps on coming back. Still didn't work.

5. Hydrogen peroxide: Someone also recommended I use this to chase bad breath.
It also works for sometime after which bad breath comes back. I even tried to dilute less than normal for maximum effects but the only thing I got was an irritating burn on my tongue. I am so not using this guy again!

6. Walnut: Some said walnut could be my Savior so I had to buy them in large quantity to chew but it didn't have long-term effects.
So I ditched it. I don't have money to waste as I am still a student.

7. Chewing a combination of bitter leaf, scent leaf, and guava leaves: Out of intuition, I decided to try this combination. My common sense inferred that since it was bitter, it should probably have some effects on the bacteria in my mouth. But alas! Bad breath wasn't even impressed one bit. I even had to stuff them in my pocket and chew on them while going to class. This was a big flop.
Didn't work at all.

8. Agnes Nwamma Herbal powder: I don't know what to say about this one, because it was even better that I just didn't brush for that day. Very useless in fighting off bad breath.

The funny thing that leaves my jaw-dropping is that my dad doesn't even brush, he uses a chewing stick but still has a very fresh breath than I that used mouthwash, baking powder, toothpaste and still chew the chewing stick to top that.

9. Chewing gum like Clorets, Methos: I have to be frank about these gums, they kind of aggravates the bad breath. They are simply applying salt to injury so I just stopped using them altogether.

Pls Nairalanders, help me out here. There have been lots of people who found a solution to their problem on here, so I doubt mine will be different.
Pls, I need something else to try that will not dig a hole in my pocket as I am still trying to stand on my feet.
I need a permanent solution not 3 hours wonder.

Lala pls push to the front page so I can get a large set of solutions to fight this off.

I don't want to resume school like this.
I am tired, I am weak, disheveled, exhausted, dejected, depressed, anguished, melancholic, in fact, I have tayad like this.

My confidence and esteem have been crushed by bad breath. Shyness, inability to have streamlined chat with people, playing deaf and dumb, using hand signals whilst communicating, smiling like a peacock when my opinion is required, staying away from girls, snubbing people, rejecting positions that have me talk to a crowd has taken over!!

Pls, abeg, mbok, biko, I need a solution.
A permanent one at that.

Politics / BREAKING: FG Raises Hate Speech Fine From N500,000 To N5m by Mims2016(m): 4:24pm On Aug 04, 2020
The Federal Government on Tuesday raised the fine for hate speech from N500,000 to 5 million naira, The PUNCH has learnt.

The government also mandated broadcast stations to devote airtime for public education on emergencies such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, made this known in Lagos on Tuesday while unveiling the Reviewed Broadcasting Code.

This was contained in a statement by the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, titled, ‘Remarks By The Hon. Minister Of Information And Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, At The Unveiling Of The Reviewed Broadcasting Code In Lagos On Tuesday, Aug. 4th 2020’.

According to the statement made available on the verified social media platforms of the ministry, Mohammed said the amendments were necessitated by a Presidential directive in the wake of the 2019 general elections for an inquiry into the regulatory role of the National Broadcasting Commission as well as the conduct of the various broadcast stations before, during and after elections.

The minister noted that the recommendations were approved by the President, Major General Mohammed Buhari (retd.), to reposition the NBC to better perform its regulatory role in the areas of political broadcasting, local content, coverage of emergencies, advertising, and anti-competitive behaviour.

Mohammed, who explained that section 2h of the NBC Act empowers the commission to establish and disseminate a National
Broadcasting Code, said, “There are many desirable provisions in the new Broadcasting Code:

“The provisions on Exclusivity and Monopoly will boost local content and local industry due to laws prohibiting exclusive use of rights by broadcasters who intend to create monopolies and hold the entire market to themselves. It will encourage Open Access to premium content.

Politics / FG, States’ll Feed Schoolchildren At Home, Minister Insists by Mims2016(m): 4:35am On May 07, 2020
The Federal Government, in partnership with states, is set to start feeding schoolchildren in their home, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, announced on Wednesday.

On April 8, The PUNCH reported that the Federal Government had finalised plans with state governments to start feeding schoolchildren in their respective homes.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Presidential Task Force briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja, Umar-Farouq said the government had overhauled the school feeding programme in a way to ensure that schoolchildren were fed at home despite the lockdown.

She said, “We have made progress in the overhauling of the homegrown school feeding programme and sensitisation has already begun in the three frontline states of Ogun, Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory for implementation.

“The overhauling was sequel to a March 29, 2020 directive by Mr President to identify modalities and continuation of the school feeding programme during the COVID-19 pandemic in the lockdown states as of then.”

She noted that following the directives, her ministry in the collaboration with state governors worked out modalities for the implementation home feeding programme, adding that the initiative was set to commence.

“The plan has been adopted, with implementation now set to begin. The programme will therefore be carried out based on data provided and structures put in place by participating states with support from partners that include the World Food Programme.”

The minister had explained that the food would be distributed door-to-door, as vouchers would be allocated at specific collection times to avoid overcrowding.

She explained that the vouchers would be redeemed at designated distribution sites.

This came as the Federal Government on Wednesday handed food items to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development for vulnerable women across the country.

Umar-Farouq presented over the items to the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Pauline Tallen, in Abuja.

Politics / Nigerians Will Pay Higher Electricity Tariffs - FG Promises IMF by Mims2016(m): 8:18am On May 05, 2020
Nigerians will pay much higher tariff for power in 2021, going by promises made by the Federal Government to the International Monetary Fund while seeking the $3.4bn emergency financial assistance recently approved for Nigeria.

The Executive Board of the IMF approved the Rapid Financing Instrument, which the Federal Government plans to use to address the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, on April 28.

A Letter of Intent, jointly signed by the Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed, and the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, and addressed to the IMF Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, indicated that the Federal Government made a number of promises to the fund in order to secure the financial assistance.

One of the promises, or commitments, which the government made in a bid to assure the executive board of the IMF of its readiness to reposition the Nigerian economy after the pandemic, is that Nigerians would pay full cost-reflective tariff for power in 2021.

The Federal Government also told the IMF it intends to cap electricity tariff shortfalls to N380bn in 2020.

“We are also advancing in our power sector reforms – with technical assistance and financial support from the World Bank – including through capping electricity tariff shortfalls this year to N380bn and moving to full cost-reflective tariffs in 2021,” the Federal Government said in the letter.

On January 4, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission approved an increase in electricity tariff for the 11 electricity distribution companies in Nigeria.

It, however, could not implement the tariff increase after labour unions, lawmakers and other Nigerians kicked against the move, which would have commenced on April 1, 2020.

Although the NERC-reviewed tariff was not cost-reflective enough as required by power distributors, it showed that Nigerians would definitely pay more for electricity if it had been implemented.

This, therefore, implies that once the government enforces the payment of full cost-reflective tariff, in line with the promise to the IMF, power users might pay far higher than what was projected in NERC’s recent tariff review.

The commission had explained that its directive on the January 2020 tariff regime for different Discos superseded the earlier one issued on the subject matter.

According to details of the review published by the commission in January, for the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, residential customers in R3 category who were paying N27.20 per unit would have been paying N47.09, had the regime started on April 1, 2020.

The customers would have paid N19.89 more per unit.

The NERC review also showed that for Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, customers on the R3 category who were paying N26.50 per unit would have paid N36.92 per unit from April 1.

The new rate amounted to an additional N10.02 per unit.

In the same vein, going by the NERC’s stalled tariff plan, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company residential (R3) customers who were paying N27.11 per unit in 2015 would have paid N48.12 per unit from April 1, 2020.

The new rates were, however, put on hold after customers kicked vehemently against the development.

But going by the Federal Government’s promise to the IMF, an implementation of cost-reflective tariffs in 2021 means that Nigerians would pay even much higher for power than the rates which NERC had planned to charge from April 1.

Also, in the Letter of Intent, which was dated April 21, the Federal Government also hinted at further increment in Value Added Tax as part of plan to increase its revenue to 15 per cent of Gross Domestic Product.

The planned revenue drive also includes hike of excise fees and removal of tax exemptions.

“First and foremost, we will revert to our government’s planned medium-term fiscal consolidation path – which includes increasing revenue to 15 per cent of GDP through further VAT reforms, rise in excises, and removal of tax exemptions – once the crisis passes,” the letter said.

The Federal Government also assured the IMF that it was working to reduce its budget deficit to under three per cent of GDP in line with the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

The Federal Government also assured the fund that it was committed to eliminating recourse to central bank financing of budget deficits by 2025.

Politics / Obudu Cargo Airport – Deceit Taken Too Far BY AGBA JALINGO by Mims2016(m): 9:00am On May 04, 2020
From day one, I have maintained the stand that the gra-gra by Governor Ayade that he wants to build a third airport in Cross River is deceitful and fraudulent. He is just creating needless confusion. He won’t build any airport.

Apart from the grandiose promises of building everything super and mega, none of which we have seen, the Obudu cargo airport is a land grab scheme that will fail woefully and create intractable communal wars when Ayade leaves power from 2023.

A 1000 hectares international cargo airport in Obudu is not only another wishful thinking, it will be one of the biggest airports in the whole world, the size of Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos (400hectares), Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja (360hectares), Margaret Ekpo Airport, Calabar (300hectares), combined together. It will only compare to the biggest airport in the world, Heathrow in London which sits on 1,200 hectares of land.

Even Asaba Airport (360 hectares) and Uyo Airport (360 hectares), took 7 years each to construct at a time those two States were flowing in real oil money not audio intellectual money that we hear in Cross River. Governor Ayade doesn’t only lack money to do an airport, he also doesn’t have the time. Now he is scooping a whopping 250million each, from 18 LGAs capital votes for God knows what.

You are planning to build a multi billion Naira airport about the size of Heathrow and you carry “one boy”, Agbebia Paul Obi, who himself may not even have entered an aircraft before nor handled a project of even 5million Naira before, as Project Manager, and unleash him to create untold confusion and break down peoples’ homes and scraping livelihoods?

A project that was supposed to occupy three villages is now encroaching into five villages and even more with two deaths and several persons in detention. Lagos with 20million people and N33billion monthly IGR has only one airport. Cross River with 4 million people with a paltry N800million monthly IGR wants to have a third airport. I am still laughing.

My own one storey building which is still under construction at Indi-Abeb has also been evaluated and considered to be within the perimeter of the proposed airport runway and I hear they want to demolish it. I won’t lift a finger or waste money to go to Court.

If after locking me up in Afokang prison for 6 months, Governor Ayade still wants to scrap my house, I will leave him to God. When he leaves power by 2023, I will recover all I have lost under him. I am no better than all other persons who have lost properties and even lives in this sham project.

Three things I am very sure about are:
1. Ayade won’t be Governor forever.

2. Ayade won’t construct any airport.

3. When he leaves power by 2023, we will recover our losses.

And this deceit which has been taken thus far, will be redressed.

Yours sincerely,
Citizen Agba Jalingo.

Politics / Cross River State To Use N4.5b Council Funds For Airport Project by Mims2016(m): 7:42am On May 01, 2020
In spite of restrictions by the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), the Cross River State Government has ordered the release of N4.5b from council funds to purchase aircraft and build the Obudu International Passenger and Cargo Airport.
The Federal Government had last year stopped governors from tempering with council funds through the NFIU, insisting that such funds should be approved and managed by council chairmen and councilors.

But the state government has not conducted council elections to elect chairmen and councilors and had recently prevailed on the State House of Assembly to approve deduction of N900m from the 18 councils to fight COVID-19, but sources said NFIU stopped the disbursement.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu, had at a media briefing on Wednesday confirmed that the state has not received the N900m as approved by the Assembly and Governor Benedict Ayade, but declined to give reasons why the COVID-19 Committee which she chairs has not received such funds.

In a new development the Ministry of Local Government Affairs had written to Manager First Bank directing the bank to transfer the funds for payment of capital projects”.

The letter with reference No: MLGA/e-P090/2020 and signed by Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Stella Odey, Permanent Secretary, James Odok, directors of accounts, Ironbar Bassey and Mrs. Paulina Odey, asked the bank to “transfer N4.5b from the Cross River State Local Government Salary Account to the local governments’ capital project accounts indicated in the schedule.”

The schedule means that each of the councils account should be credited with N250m amounting to N4.5b for the Cally Airline and Airport project in Obudu.

Earlier all the HOLGAS had in a letter to Governor Ayade dated April 10, 2020 and signed by Head of Akamkpa Council, Augustine E. Ngaji and Calabar Municipality, Christian Elemi on behalf of 16 other councils, applied for funds for the purchase of commercial aircraft and construction of Obudu International Passenger and Cargo Airport.

“The state government’s bid to float Cally Air cannot be overemphasized. If established, the airline will boast tourism and liberate Cross River people and other Nigerians in Calabar and its environs from the exploitation of other airlines at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar.

“More so, the state and councils internally generated revenue (IGR) profile will improve,” the council bosses said. However, critics argued that government’s demand to use council funds for the airport project was fraudulent, as the state already has two airports in Calabar and Obudu.
Politics / Northern States’ Ban Of Almajiri System by Mims2016(m): 7:04am On May 01, 2020
EXISTENTIAL realities have finally dawned on northern governors with the decision to ban the almajiri system in their respective states. At a recent meeting, the 19 Northern state governors unanimously resolved to send the almajiris to their parents or states of origin as COVID-19 bares its murderous fangs across the federation. More instructive is their avowal not to allow the long discredited tradition to continue because of its domino effects of perpetuating poverty, illiteracy, insecurity and social disorder.

The move, a welcome development, is long overdue. As Atiku Bagudu, the Governor of Kebbi State, observed, “This is for the common good of the states and Nigeria in general.”

Almajiris are less privileged children in many states in the North, unleashed on the streets by their parents and guardians, clad in rags with begging bowls. These are purported pupils of Koranic schools, minors released by their families. In some cases, some criss-cross transnational borders, underscored by the almajiris deported to Niger Republic. Only irresponsible parenting exposes children to such a vagrant and dangerous way of life. This abuse ruins these lives forever.

The environment under which they live is best illustrated by the Kano State Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi-Kiru: “Where these children were living before the evacuation was worrisome, because there were no adequate conveniences, shelter and other hygienic facilities. At some of the Tsangaya schools, you will find that over 3,000 almajiri children live in a small apartment without proper care, hygiene and other necessary needs.”

While the governors’ decision ticks all the right boxes, optimism, however should be cautious as efforts in the past, at both state and federal levels to obliterate the system, failed woefully. In 2012 for instance, Kano State under Musa Kwankwaso’s government constituted a committee whose report was considered as a magic bullet. While receiving the report, the then governor promised to share the strategies with other governors “so that together we can kick-start and solve the prevailing almajiri menace. We are ready in Kano to tackle the almajiri menace headlong.”

If the plan had been faithfully implemented, the North would not be bogged by the same plague in 2020. The Universal Basic Education Act 2004 birthed to address anomalies such as this, with its provision of a compulsory and free basic education for six years and minimum three years of junior secondary schooling. Again, the Child Rights Act, another policy instrument, stipulates that a Nigerian child shall be in school up to the secondary level.

Under the UBE scheme, funds are made available to states by the Federal Government to improve their basic education, so long as they provide counterpart funding and observe all accountability provisos. But many of the Northern governors since 1999, whose states are the worst educationally, loot the UBE funds when they access them. Others have not bothered to satisfy the requirements to leverage this critical support. It is for this reason that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), said that where the menace persists it “means the state governments are not doing their job.” He maintained that tackling it is strictly the responsibility of states. Unfortunately, under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, the Federal Government spent N15 billion in building 165 almajiri schools. Sooner than later, they became desolate as the pupils returned to their familiar routine of street-begging....

Op get your facts right. It wasn't the whole building. Advert boards at the edge of the building fell and damaged cars. No one was trapped. The lady who's voice is heard in the video narrowly escaped death. She was sitting outside under the spot where one of the metal boards fell.
