The article didn't take any side whether doctors are oblige to tell a patient.

Doctors have said that many times in cases of terminal illnesses. They'll just give the patient the time frame.

What a weird thing to say, it's almost as if she's more concerned about the money spent trying to save his life. A good doctor will still battle to save your life even if he suspects you're going to die, ICU care per day costs a whole lot of money anywhere in the world

There are some terminal illness that the doctors will tell you you have certain number of days left. In such situations you use those day to prepare and make amends.

I'm sure this is one of those cases.
