PoliticsRe: Must See: Nuhu Ribadu In Us Session by miquest: 8:50pm On May 23, 2009
I wonder why people are here shouting and praising ribadu, He was never honest, Ibori stole money from his state but so did odili who even stole in greater measures, Rivers State was the most visited state by Obasanjo in his 8yrs in office, Wat does that tell us, Ribadu was sacked for a reason, which is not following due process & his selective judgment in targeting all those who opposed Obj, Nigerians are always quick to fail to see what the problem is, It's not yar adua or Ibori it's Obasanjo, Odili and Ribadu, and i would continue to blame them for the crisis in the Niger Delta Community, Ribadu is as big a thief as any of the people he calls thiefs,
He was also disrespectful to his Superiors in the police force, Arrogant Fellow,
He also has a Lamborghini, Wat a thief, (Ribadu)

why are people ranting nonsense in this place like it's there salary, he has the right to do whatever he wants to with it, remember that was how he met it so people chill, Nigeria is in a state and as long as we as Nigerians continue in this ranting and barking we'll continue to be in that bad state, Empty barrels they say make the loudest noise, just as some dumb person posted eldee's video here for what reason i cant understand, The truth is Obasanjo took the remaining pillars of this country down and handed over to yaradua, rite now, everything is crumbling in his regime, The Media in Nigeria are also one of the main cause of our problems as they only seem to report Bad news, Make una leave the Man alone, It's his SALARY, Na ur own,

Well i really dont see anything wrong with what he has done, if Mr. President decides to take a pay cut with the rest of his people it's his choice, the allowances are benefits that comes with any kind of job in the world and he is entitled to an allowance so whats the noise about, Nigerians Abroad compare Nigeria to countries that have existed for over 200yrs in democracy and just expect Nigeria to be like that in 10yrs, be realistic all of you, i dont see this country going forward with the negative thoughts in your mind, Other countries give their presidents time and asse them over that time we wait a month and then we start judging, Anyway the salary scheme is his choice and should be commended, OBJ increased it by over 100% nobody said a word, he reduced and they are complaining like its their salary that was reduced,

TravelForeign Ministry Faults Uk, Us Visa Policies by miquest(op): 3:27pm On Apr 20, 2009
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Joe Keshi, weekend described as humiliating the visa policies of the British and US embassies in Nigeria.
“First of all, asking us to bring our bank statement and all sorts of unthinkable documents is very humiliating. It is becoming increasingly frustrating the way they treat Nigerians and they also engage Nigerian government officials in the most humiliating processes,’’ Keshi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday.
“In other continents, the British and American interest had been affected,Nigerians have never attacked any of their interests; neither had any of their interests in Africa been attacked nor destroyed, yet we suffer some of the most humiliating policies on visas.
Some people will say I am being undiplomatic but this is an issue I am very passionate about,’’ he added.
The Permanent Secretary said the ministry was already engaging the embassies on the matter ``even though some of the issues are not resolvable by the missions in Nigeria. You cannot force them to change their laws. You can only dialogue with them,” he said.
He, however, advised Nigerians to cultivate the habit of staying at home and contribute to the development of their country, adding that government officials should also be modest by cutting down on their foreign trips.

I have always though that the Visa policy needs to be addressed in this country, In other African countries it's very different but in Nigeria it's just something else entirely, I hope people can understand my point,

An d please we all know that the policy has nothing to do with the Nigerian Government so people shouldn't blame the government as they enjoy doing,

PoliticsShould Nigerians Still Be Crying Over June 12? by miquest(op): 9:51am On Mar 04, 2009
I was just wondering Should we still be lamenting over what would have been or start thinking about what should be? it's just a thought. Because i read in the papers today where Wole Soyinka said Nigeria has lost it's defining moment, because the june 12 election was annulled. We all know and regret this sad incident but should Nigeria be subject to june 12 1993 or should people like Wole Soyinka and the rest of them be thinking of taking public office so that they can help our country that is if they can instead of sitting down somewhere and dropping harsh criticism that takes our country more than a decade Back,
this is just a thought from me because i don't see the point in criticizing if you cannot help,
What are your Opinions on this thoughts.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria The Most Corrupt Nation In Africa? by miquest: 9:36am On Mar 04, 2009
i'm ashamed to say that most people didn't even watch the video before posting which is the biggest problem Nigerians have always never patient, Anyway Louis Farrakhan said Nigeria isn't the most corrupt nation in the world and that America is, as for africa if you say Nigeria is corrupt what would u say on Zimbabwe & the likes of it, Nigeria is corrupt no doubt but i think we also deserve to credit the country, i cannot imagine another country in africa as large as Nigeria with so much ethnic groups that would still be in one piece, As Bad as Nigeria is i Still love to look for the positives in it instead of tagging along with rants that won't solve a thing,
PoliticsRe: Fg Finally Removes Subsidy On Petrol by miquest: 9:58am On Mar 03, 2009
Nigerians complain about any and everything Good or Bad, Only if we could find the positives for once in this things that Yar-Adua is doing, After all we had Baba there for 8yrs and the price of petroleum products tripled, Nothing was done about the refineries and our power went from Okay to Bad to worse, Now u people expect change overnight, We sit down and insult our government from morning till night no matter the decisions they make good or Bad and we company Nigeria to the United states who went through all this phases in their young stages, NA WA 4 una O, wetin una dey contribute for Nigeria Sef, We know they are thieves and corrupt we all know, but I can swear that more than 90% of the people here would do worse if given a position in government, So give them a break abeg, Before the deregulation everyone was crying out deregulate! Deregulate! now they have done it They are crying out thieves thieves, Confused people are always the most difficult toplease and that is Nigerias biggest problem, Our people dont know what they want until they do that it would be better for us,
PoliticsRe: Tough Times: Nigerians Flee To Ghana by miquest: 11:01am On Feb 20, 2009
Let them go wherever, most of this people Leaving outside the country all in the name of greener pastures can't come back cause of shame and the fact that they have nothing to show for, We need more people to leave the country abeg, Una too plenty, 140million and u are comparing it to countries of just 21million(Ghana), 5million(Mali and the rest of em), or south africa(51million), I take God beg una if u can't pray for the country and see that there's a great task in leading this multitude then follow the footsteps of the others,

I was in Ghana last year and at the airport 2 men came to me asking for help and we got talking and i asked what they where doing begging here, they said they came in search of greener pastures and now they are looking for money to return cause their condition worsened when they came into ghana, Luckily for them we were able to help them return and anytime they call me they always remind me that situation at home is better,

If you think it isn't I suggest you try it for yourself,
we shouldn't think Nigeria is that Bad, Every Country has it's flaws,
Lets give ours a chance abeg,

Una too use mouth spoil the thing sefff,

PoliticsRe: What Are The 5 Most Developed Countries On The African Continent by miquest: 10:43am On Feb 04, 2009
I have read through posts on this topic here and have come to the conclusion that nigerians are either ignorant or have just chosen never to be positive about their country,
I have visited ghana so many times and in the course of my last visit they had their elections, now one of the reasons people in Nigeria think that election was a succes was because their media would never talk bad about their country outside, but being here and seeing things for myself we all know that the election wasn't fair, Anyway Nigeria is a role model in africa people who don't know that have never been to other african countries thats y, If you dont think Nigeria is good enough y do you think the United Nations come to Nigerians for help whenever theirs an african crisis, Anyway Nigeria isn't the most developed but in my opinion it comes in the top 5, and mind u, the only developed place in South |Africa is Jo'borg, see d rest for urself, So people learn to appreciate your own and protect your House,
BAd belle people too much sef,

This might just be positive for Nigeria, Considering the fact that most people that where arrested by this man Ribadu, were anti-obj, i read about someone talking about the ibori's case, can someone also explain to me why during the obj tenure the most corrupt politician and governore who was also known for a few murders and the origianl starter of the militancy in the Niger-Delta area in the name of Mr Peter Odili was never and has never been arrested, if mr ribadu was such a saint he would have done sumtin about it, the thing with Nigeria is that we are to quick to jump to conclusions, this man disobeyed his superiors, he refused to report on duty to where he was posted, who those that and doesn't get fired with immediate effect, and you think all that should just be dropped, as for his demotion, he totally deserves it, how can an assistant commisioner of police be promoted to the rank of and AIG just like that, common Nigerians lets be reasonable, for me this governmebt has done the right thing in everyway to treat him and i believe the next stop would be obasanjo and his people, Watchout people, You'll sing praises for yaradua in no time,

I am not justifying what was done in jos, but for you to open your stupid smelling nonsense racist and non thinking mouth to talk trash about me must mean your brain doesn't really function well, and you would ever remain a fool,

Those that were killed in jos were not only igbos or whateva you think, i lost people that were hausa christians and i mean christians not muslims, So my friend it's not all bout you being igbo,

SORRY TO SAY BUT THEY ARE JUST SO SHALLOW MINDED, and the day you show us that you can think for others and not just yourself would be the day biafra might just be ready to work, and this message is for quotasystems, i repeat you are a fool, and you were not even born in 1966 thinking you know it all,

I believe the Fight is Over now and Nigeria is still United, Once in a while you must have ethnic or religious violence but not forgetting the fact that Nigeria is still a peaceful nation, I am from the south and happen to have travelled a lot around the country and i must not fail to point out the fact that as much as the easternerns have always desired to have their own country, it is totally unfair to the rest of the Nation, Greed has eaten up with every 1 of the geo-political zones and nobody is innocent, Stop pointing fingers and lets look for a solution, People here talking about what happened in 1966 don't even know what happened, all they know is they would have had their own, GREED ALL OVER AGAIN, Stop the HATE,

do you think the government anywhere in the world cares about the masses or themselves, Nigerians we just believe everything should be done for us very soon we will complain and say we want the president to take a spoon and feed us, The masses should be able to help themselves out, figure it out for yourselves the government are doing what they can and OBJ was the real cause of our problems that i agree, but he was also the saved us from some problems, Stop nagging and figure yourself out.
PoliticsRe: Merrill Lynch Ranks Nigeria World’s Safest Economy by miquest: 1:22pm On Nov 19, 2008
We all know that the credit facility being issued out is a major problem and i just find it really disappointing that nigerians want such in their system saying it accelerates the growth of an economy, Only if you knew how it also decelerates that economy, How would you feel if you where born into debts very happy I'm sure and then your children also in debts even before they were born. I would say that people need to look into the positives in the Nigerian economy today, you have your money in solid banks who are not in debts but have an asset base worth billions in both liquidity and cash, You think that's a joke, I wish Nigerians would learn to appreciate themselves and look @ the positives,
Look @ other countries in Africa and see the various Ethnic violence and War between rebels and the people and look at Nigeria with it's own various ethnic groups living together and also various religious groups living together, All you have to complain about is the government this the Government that, No light, the militants can behave the way they are because we have a government that thinks before it acts, Imagine waging a war against those peoplehuh I guess i'll leave it here for people to appreciate that OUR ECONOMY WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT IS THE SAFEST IN THE WORLD GO AND JUMP FROM A BUILDING IN ABUJA IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, I TIRE FOR UNA SEF,

Naija, there's nuttin good they can ever accept, please i would advice that those saying it's not worth rejoicing about think again, Merill Lynch has said the Economy is the safest and i agree with them, I am not in Nigeria rite now but from people i have spoken too so far they don't have the banks dragging for thier houses or cars or businesses, So for me thats safe, Try going to the U.S or the U.K or China and see for yourself whats going on that way you'll understand what they mean by safest, dont come here and talk or your jibberish, i believe merill lynch knows better not just because it is western but because it has invested in these so called big economies as you would like to say and lost so much and now they have discovered a credit free country to invest in,
You really have no idea the opportunities that this kind of news brings with it,
1. More companies would be willing to invest and setup in Nigeria creating more job opportunities for the youths,
Not every country is perfect and Nigeria isn't but Give credit to the country for once,
I read someone saying even ghana, I would advice u visit that country and see for yourself, it's the biggest joke in west africa, the economy cannot and never be compare to that of Nigeria, So please let us enjoy this great news

The post did not say how merill lynch ranked the U.S and The U.K as one of the least safest economies in the world,

I personally Feel we need more of this top government personalities to go through this once in a while because this happens to innocent Nigerians everyday with Nobody to Help them out,  even our neighbours Ghana treat Nigerians with hostility and Nigerians as hospitable as we are always repair this with open arms which is nice but i personally feel something should be done and i'm Glad sumtin like this happened to this Guys,  lol

READ ON!!!!!

Former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Alhaji Shehu Malami and two serving senators on Saturday at the OR Tambo International Airport, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
NAN  reports that Malami, arrived in South Africa Saturday aboard a South Africa Airways flight with Senators Ayodele Arise and Kolawole Bajomo, when they were all subjected to an ignominious treatment by a female immigration officer.
The immigration officer, whose name  was given  Ms. T Madhekga, had accused the former envoy  of forging his visa and alleged that the particulars in Bajomo's yellow fever card did not tally with details in his international passport.
NAN learnt that the despite the presence and intervention of the Nigeria Consul General in Johannesburg, Mr. Kalu Ukwu and the Minister in charge of consular matters and Protocol at the Nigeria High commission, Mr. Ifeanyi Omeokachie, the officer remained adamant.
She was, however, said to be, instead, rude and screamed insulting words to the Nigerians. ``I do not care whether they are high profile personalities. These Nigerians need to be taught a lesson when they come here, ''an eye witness, who pleaded for anonymity, quoted her as saying. NAN learnt that the immigration officer delayed the Malami and the senators for more than an hour scanning their travel documents.
Contacted, Arise, confirmed the incident, adding: ``We were shocked at the immigration officer's behavior towards us, but I have tried to put the episode behind me now.''
Omeokachie, who also confirmed the incident, told NAN that the officer's behaviour  was unbecoming. `` She simply refused to listen to any of us. She said she was not bothered about who the personalities were,''he said.
He  said the Nigeria High Commissioner to South Africa had been intimated of the matter and promised to lodge a protest with the South African authorities.
The Consul General also said he was dismayed at the behaviour of the immigration officials.``It is unfortunate that a country that wants to host the world cup could still have its immigration officers behave in this ridiculous manner".
``It was certainly an ugly and shameful incident,” he said.

The matter will betaken up at a higher level to intimate the authorities of the behaviorof their junior officers".``I believe that at this stage of the relations that exist between our two nations and the closeness of time to the world cup, these officials ought to have been schooled by now on the act of decent protocol,''he said .
