The accounts are dormant because they don't allow us to close the accounts. I tried closing an account with former mainstreet bank but they gave me all kinds of excuses why I can't close the account saying that the process is too long and tedious that it's better to leave it as it is, now they have transferred the acct to Skye bank! |
Hmm $12.3 billion seems like a small amount considering all the billion billion wey news dey carry. What about the $20b dat Sanusi spoke about? Hmm I don't think d true amount of money embezzled from crude oil can be given an accurate figure, cos from news reports the stealin of crude was done with such impunity, I mean millions of barrels of oil were sold and not accounted for and it seems that this has been goin on since time immemorial even during Shagari's time so where does one begin to tackle the rot from. I weep for Naija sha, if not for our greed, we cld have been one of the most developed countries in the World esp in terms of infrastructure. |
In terms of going after stolen loot Buhari must work hand in hand with Kachikwu since Buhari already has the list given to him by sources from within and outside the country rather than leave this enormous task to the GMD alone, cos it might look as if Buhari doesn't want to go after certain persons. Restructuring the system means getting rid of all corrupt elements and incompetent pple in NNPC, we all know that NNPC is 80% staffed by northerners even the crude oil marketing division, so all these pple will need to be fired. If Buhari makes him Minister of State then that will even be better as the incompetence and corruption cleansing will cover all subsidiaries under NNPC and agencies under the Ministry of Petroleum cos trust me everywhere there reeks of corruption and it's done so blantantly in total disregard for procedure and law. Pls lets all pray for the new GMD and throw our support behind him because trust me he will need it. His most difficult task will be to ensure that he hires competent and clean hands that will help him meet the targets Buhari has given him that in itself is a huge task cos as we all know some peeps might be clean when first appointed but once they see d amount of money they can make , it becomes another story. |
JUBILEE2000:So appointing a lawyer from an IOC such as ExxonMobil as GMD NNPC is a mistake ehh, really, all the Engineers who were past GMD's of NNPC (maybe apart from Andrew Yakubu) what good have they done for NNPC, if they were that good why is there so much rot in NNPC? I feel this is a very good appointment as no politician in APC or PDP or past President can have any kind of influence over him, neither will he be under any pressure to please any politician or cover up for anyone. Things will finally be run the right way in NNPC cos Ibe Kachikwu takes no prisoners with him so watch out for a real cleansing in NNPC. |
ADVICE PLEASE: What happens in a situation where your employer makes the deduction from your salary and does not remit these deductions into your pension fund, what are the employees rights and what is the best way to resolve this? I know of someone who has this problem and it has been going on for over a year now, no reasonable explanations have been given for this by the employer |
My Peeps no need for comparison, OFE AKWU reigns supreme any time any day just d name alone don win the contest. Just like my fellow nairalander rightly said who go chose Afghanistan when America dey der. ![]() |
Chinese, Indians, Koreans and French are the worst employers of labour in Nigeria. No matter how experienced you are they always want to short change you and pay peanuts with poor conditions of service. I hope the Buhari Govt will set up a committee of some sort to review the terms and conditions of employment of some of these companies with a view to them improving. Also an in depth review of the existing labour laws will also be a good idea as a Nigerian shld be entitled to earn almost the same salary as an expatriate with the same kind of experience and be entitled to the same conditions of service. Although there will still be a little difference in terms of relocation allowance for an expatriate, but it shldnt be a case of an expat earning almost $2,000 per day and a Nigerian with the same kind of experience earning N3/400,000 per month. |
This kind of policy should not be mandatory as not everyone is cut out to teach. It should be discretionary. Afterall some 1st class people would prefer to work in Oil and Gas, Banking, Telecoms or other sectors. I know people that have graduated with 1st class and 2:1 and they can't even draft a memo without grammatical errors and wrong use of tense. These days 1st class and 2:1 is not dat hard to make as you can cram your way to it, I have seen that first hand with my university class mate. Even the multinationals know that a 1st class and 2:1 is not what will make one a good candidate for the job, it might get you through the door but it won't push you up the ladder. There are loads of people with 2:2 that are doing a much better job than those with a 1st class and 2:1. |
Lies lies and more lies. They should just allow GEJ to be and stop makin up false stories. At least it's good to read that most pple on this thread know it's just cheap propaganda. |
Naija peeps let's stop all dis GEJ bashing and pls let's give credit to whom it is due. Jonathan was responsible for the TAM of our refineries it just happened that the TAM was finished shortly after he left power. So congrats to him for doing this. Now that GEJ is no longer in power what we shld now pray for is that Buhari's govt shld build on this so that the 4 refineries will all work at maximum capacity n dat importation of refined fuel will cease. This way fuel importers will stop holding d country to ransome. The refineries working will mean 1) more jobs for pple especially Engineers (graduate and experienced). 2) No more fuel shortages n scarcity There are some saboteurs dat are fighting day n night to ensure that the refineries remain shut cos they are making a huge fortune importing fuel at the suffering of Nigerians, it's these kind of people that we need to fight against because the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians shld come first b4 the selfish interests of any greedy individual. This has gone on for to long so enough is enough. |
Naija no be America, I beg oh make dem leave Naija alone oh, make dey no corrupt us lead us go hell fire. Make dem read d word of God 1) God created man and woman not man and man. KJV Gen 1:27 - God created man in his own image... Male and female created he them KJV Gen 2:18 - The Lord God said, It's is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a help meet for him KJV Gen 2:22 ..... God made he a woman and brought her unto the man 2) Marriage was made for MAN AND WOMAN and NOT man and man Gen 2:24 - Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh. I don talk my own finish. If America no fit respect God and wan go hell, I beg make dem no try carry Naija with dem. The evil wey dey call corruption wen we dey face here eh too much for us to begin carry gay matter join am. Even self Koran, our traditional cultures and evil oracle self condemn dis kind gay evil so where America wan make we fit am in our culture for Naija. If I cause dem thunder from God, Allah and all d oracle wey dey dis country go fire dem. |
If Buhari's govt is serious abt cleaning up d mess in NNPC dey shld probe the affairs of NNPC dating back to 1985 when Babangida came into power because that's really when corruption became legalised in Nigeria. |
It's good and I'm so happy that El Rufai who is a northerner is saying this because 80-90% of people working in NNPC and its subsidiaries are Northerners, some of who are so incompetent and lazy, causing NNPC to be what it is today. So by the time they are purged from the system then maybe things will get better. |
If GEJ's ambition destroyed these institutions why didn't he cling onto power to lengthen his ambition to complete d destruction. So dat means dat d northerners who have ruled dis country longer Dan any other tribe did not contribute 2 dis destruction it's only GEJ dat did. I beg Pple shld not just wake up and begin to point blame where they shldnt. |
You people tend to forget that GEJ only ruled dis country for 6 years and b4 he came to power all these things were in existence. What took 41 years to destroy u pple expected Jonathan to correct in 6 years. Problems dat were caused by Jonathan's predecessors are being blamed on him. He tried to remove subsidy because of d fraud but nigerians protested. He refused to allow himself to be manipulated by certain persons as dis wasn't in the best interests of the country. I feel it's best Jonathan stepped down d way he did. Now that Buhari is in power d same pple dat r praising him will be d same pple dat will criticise him and tear him apart. Those politicians shouting change are d ones who destroyed dis country, cos there were policies in place dat didn't favour dem, once Buhari puts in place measures to stop corruption, these same greedy pple will begin to tear Buhari apart. We Nigerians are our own worst enemies, may God help dis country. |
This is a good example of putting the interest of the country first above the selfish interests of a party. Naija has 6 geo-political zones so chairs of committees shld be shared equally amongst these zones. I really don't understand why pple are condemning Saraki when he shld be praised for not allowing selfish interests to prevail. What is d matter with us in dis country is dis not the change dat we all wanted and voted for, why is it that it is now happening and pple are complaining. A party's ambition cannot come first over the national interest of Nigerians and Nigeria. |
NNPC is filled with Northerners and they make up more than 60% of the staff most of who have come thru the back door, if Buhari is serious he shld set up screening committees in all the FG Oil and Gas depts to assess all staff and get rid of incompetent hands, maybe then the corruption will reduce and things will really begin to change. |
What utter nonsense, If this is witch hunting then it's just ridiculous. Tell me how promotions approved during the Jonathan Govt is any of Buharis business, how does this solve the problems that are threatening to swallow the country. Buhari needs to focus on why he was elected as president and stop getting distracted by issues that in no way help solve the current economic situation of the country, after all it's not only the SSS that promoted its staff during Jonathans tenure, what about all the other questionable promotions that were done across the Ministry of Petroleum resources, pple were promoted even when it was obvious they are so incompetent, is Buhari going to reverse all those as well!!! |
To be honest PMB shouldn't have even appointed him as acting DG in the first place as he has retired from the service. He should have appointed someone from within the service as acting DG pending the appointment of a substantive DG, there are a lot of suitably qualified people in the service that can fill dat slot. I feel This retiree is only there to pick who will be the substantive DG and dat in itself should not be allowed. Naija na wah. |
Ita Ekpeyong wasn't sacked he resigned and handed over to the next most senior officer who has now been confirmed as the DG. http://www.nigerianmonitor.com/2015/07/02/breaking-ita-ekpeyong-resigns-as-director-general-of-dss/ |
It's not only nnpc recruitment that Buhari should look into. The Nerc recruitment for HQ positions had not been concluded since 2013. |
wisdomguy4u:Ok what abt a situation where you pay for a tenancy agreement and none is given to you, there are problems in the house like plumbing, flooding in the house when it rains, and water leakages from the roof. You call the agent but no one comes until d last two weeks of ur tenancy and till now the problems still abound especially the plumbing which causes terrible smells in d house as if the soakaway is in the house. These problems have been going on thru out the supposed 1yr tenancy. Can d tenants sue for compensation? Till date no tenancy agr was given n it appears d money 4 day has gone? |
Most of the perm secs are Northerners so how will Fed Xter be satisfied if they are to replace ministers and head the ministries. If the constitution is to be amended to do away with ministers, then it will also follow that the civil service rules for promotion to perm sec must also be reviewed to ensure that Fed Xter is satisfied whilst also considering merit. |
kunleezra:Hi all. This Nerc recruitment process is really taking very long to conclude. NNPC held their test in December 2014 and they are already calling candidates for interviews on the 21st of February, that's just a short space of three months. Nerc hasn't even called candidates for the HQ interviews. |
Hi Everyone, please does anyone have any credible information with regards to the next stage of the nerc recruitment? |
Busbar:Hi Busbar, please do you know if the experienced hire sat for the Aptitude test on the 6th of December? |
Edokpia:Hi Everyone, I just got off the phone with Phillips Consulting - Abuja Office and i was told that the aptitude test is for graduate trainees and experienced hires. Good luck to all who were invited for the test. |
Please all just want to ask, if one does not do well in the Restral interview, does this mean that you will not be called for the NERC interview, or is it that once you pass the test you will automatically be scheduled for both interviews - with Restral and NERC? |
Someone I know just had his interview yesterday for a management position (legal enforcement), he said the interview was so so, some of the questions were not well structured especially the male panelist wearing glasses, he had to constantly re ask his questions as he could not understand them. In all he was not overly impressed as he felt that some of the questions were not actually related to his job especially questions concerning dealing with customers. There was also a question on monopoly situation of the DISCO's. Finally he felt that its best these type of interviews are done only by NERC and not a recruitment agency as NERC will be best placed to ask questions that are relevant to the job. |
kunleezra: I did my interview on Thursday. This questions are technical.Be sure to pick your roles one after others and thick of relevant question that can come out of it.Your Cv also play important roles...Hi Kunleezra can you kindly shed some more light on the questions you were asked and the role ur CV played? Were you asked any general management type questions? |
Pls does any one know what Nerc's salary is like? Someone asked that question but no one has replied. |
[quote author=nnacent]I jst came out of the interview hall. The long and short is...jst have a firm grip on all you need to knw. The question come in a "bokoharamish" fashion, all job related. The panelist hardly give u a chance to "shine" before dey throw the next question. Last, last i believe i will successful.. Nanacent I wish u all d best but can u tell us the questions u were asked? |
