Refusal of the children of Israel to recognize Jesus (AS) as a prophet and messenger of Allah was NOT a mistake; it was a deliberate act of disobedience to Allah.

They have done things more grievous than that even before the birth of Jesus (AS). I will highlight a few of them.

They were the only race in human history to ever ask to see the face of Allah before they could worship Him.

They were the only race in human history to tell a prophet of Allah "go you and your God and fight". That what they said to Moses (AS) when he conveyed Allah's instructions to them to fight the people of Canan.

They were the first nation to distort the words of Allah by either deletion or insertion.

They were the only people in human history to kill innocent prophets of Allah.

They were the only people in human history to have attempted crucifixion of a messenger of Allah and to openly brag about it.

They are the only people to ever rejected two successive messengers of Allah despite glaring evidences in their scriptures.

For these and other atrocities they were cursed by David (AS), Jesus (AS), Muhammad (SAW), and by Allah. So shall they remaining cursed to the end of time except a few among them who believe in the religion of Allah.

The major difference between the children of Israel and Christians is that the former committed/commit their religious atrocities DELIBERATELY while the later committed/commit their mistakes IGNORANTLY.

May Allah guides us to the path of truth and keep us on that path to the end.
