Immigration is desirable for every country. It's the type and levels of immigration that is usually the focus of debate. Mass immigration does not automatically equal massive increases in GDP, particularly GDP per capita, as the UK and others have seen.
"Mass immigration" what does that even mean?
780k in year just gone but still oodles of vacancies everywhere.
Who will build 300k houses per year? Run theatres pretty much 7 days a week to clear backlog?

Even if everybody out of work today were to train as builders and hospital staff,it ll take a few years to train them up? Who will do the jobs in the meantime? People from overseas !

I m off to fan the flames of the maga civil war.
I want it to sink in well well. We need the heck out of immigrants. Plans need people to carry them out

Re the bolded, if it were that simple, the UK would be enjoying record levels of GDP in line with the record levels of immigration over the last couple of years.

Instead the news is that the economy has flatlined amid a reduced growth forecast for 2024, and Starmer has had to turn to regulators for advice to boost economic growth.
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy0n14ywzqpo.amp
It is that simple. Brexit kicked and still kicking your butt. If the UK didn't have access to immigration, they would be further down the pan than they are at the moment. Who can survive losing 4% of their GDP? Even the US couldn't not to talk of the " sick man of Europe"

Trump has sided with Eeyore Musk on skilled immigration to much wailing and gnashing of teeth by his nativist supporters.

I wager that in the next 2 weeks,he will also admit to employing oodles of undocumented immigrants at his bedbug infested resorts. Yes ,undocumented immigrants who are carrying the entire US agricultural industry on their backs.

I like that this is a very public roforofo fight. For the first time, the racists are being brought face to face with the truth namely Immigration is beneficial and indispensable to growth. Hopefully their counterparts over here are listening.

I m going back to reddit leopardeatingfaces thread.

I’m assuming you’re based in the UK or somewhere outside of Nigeria. I probably don’t measure up to your handsomeness, so no, I’ve never experienced that.
To answer your question, I suggest you treat this situation like you would with anyone from the opposite sex. There shouldn’t be any mixed signals. Be very polite, especially since you’re in a country where same-sex relationships are more accepted. However, since that’s not your thing, you need to be firm when you let them know you’re not interested.
If they keep pushing after you’ve made it clear, I recommend gathering as much evidence as you can and reporting them to HR for sexual harassment or to the police for stalking, assuming you don’t work in the same office. All the best!
If this has happened at work, escalate to HR immediately. I Hope you have got evidence.

Being firm is for when it happens socially.

You cannot connect to the UK because you are not Scottish, English or Welsh and that is okay. You were not born in the UK to culturally assimilate into the country. If you want Naija vibes with Western sanity:

- Develop Nigeria to Western standards and retain your cultural vibes.
- Go to Brazil.
Just to correct the record, there are lots of Naija vibes around the major cities of the UK. You can feel perfectly at home even if you weren't born here.

Learning the culture comes the longer you live here, listening to their music, reading their papers, watching their shows.

On a personal note, people tend to steer well clear of persons with a persecution complex, who think the world is out to get them.
Try to always think of a benign reason something has happened. No one is after you.

Think the best of people and they ll reciprocate otherwise you ll find this a very cold place indeed. "No man is an island" .

Merry Christmas to Everybody on this thread. I hope you had an excellent day well suited to your wishes. I know I did

You people should relax with the comparison with Abuja. Enugu for the better is rustic with red earth ruining its aesthetic. Asides from Independent Layout, New Haven, Okpara Avenue and the Square, where else looks charming? Garki, Nwani, Coal Camp or Abakpa? I think Owerri has more developed and serene areas even. You're comparing it to Abuja how many 8 lane roads and flyovers are in Enugu? You people should relax oh. In Nigeria there are two cities Abuja and Lagos. The rest, even Port Harcourt and Kano are still coming up. But Enugu is far behind. Kano and Port Harcourt will come first, and Uyo before you see Enugu sef.

Mrs Assad of Syria files for divorce and seeks to move back to the UK.

https://m.jpost.com/middle-east/article-834499

What are the parallels with 15 yr old Shamima Begum?
Do the same laws for a child apply to a sick, grotesque rich white woman?

Mrs Assad actually has dual citizenship so she can be legally stripped of British citizenship and kicked up the butt to send her on her way.

Frustrated divorcee.
Don't be so wicked, clown. Try actively listening to your wife. Otherwise na another man go de soothe her soul while you are there claiming horseband.

Look at you saying proudly that she didn't cry. Labour hurts and every woman cries. She just didn't cry in front of your wicked self.

See this one talking as if we don't have wives at home. The truth is most women exaggerate these things, she's just being too dramatic.

When my wife was in labour ( first child) few months ago nobody in the compound knew, she quietly called me and I rushed home and took her to the hospital. She didn't shout like they do in Nollywood movies.

Even when my baby was sucking for the first time she complained of pains in her nîpples but I didn't see any form of drama till everything turned normal.
Dude ,why will she not suppress her pain when she knows she has a wicked clown for a husband ?
She doesn't tell you anything because she knows what you are like.

I m giving this your "marriage " 5 years. E go scatter . She deserves better
FamilyRe: First-time Gen-z Mom In Tears While Breastfeeding Her Baby (Photos) by missjekyll: 12:17am On Dec 19, 2024
DrAda:
Every birth. The reason is quite simple. When the new born baby sucks the breast, the brain releases a hormone called oxytocin. This hormone helps to contract the uterus which serves to prevent further bleeding following child birth. This contraction can be very painful. Almost as painful as labour. I am actually quite surprised that many people don't know this.

In addition to the pain associated with uterine contraction, the nipples are equally painful as well. Not sure why that is. So imagine a mother going through the rigors of natural birth/episiotomy or ceaserian section only to learn that there is yet another source of pain waiting right by the corner from breastfeeding. It is incredibly overwhelming and tear jerking.
Are you a real dr? Were you not taught about attachment in pediatrics? Scritching my head.

Yes, it is very painful for the first few days. The baby will be sucking the breast, the mother will be feeling excruciating pains in the stomach and she can't not feed the baby.
Not just that , there's mastitis and soreness from poor attachment to the nipple.

I would just buy formula and be done with it but she is bravely enduring this. Poor mother
