born2fuck: I read laugh and tire, you will understand the different between a case or robbery and a case of yahoo yahoo. The limit when it comes to robbery may end your life instantly or abandoned you in kirikiri without even make court trial. Abeg pray make u no enter police gbeke when it comes to this kind of tin, ur tongue fit make dey dispose U or make dem travel you over night, travel over night means kill dem arm robbers because they will label you as automatic arm robber and you will be in their cells, eat with them, do all with them, if you overdo, guy you are on your own, even by the time dey arrest ur prominent Dad or Mum, na u go say make dem no overdo, remember, not just Nigeria police will handle this case, it will be transfer to SARS in elewe eran or Panti where shooting of criminals with immediate effect means nothing to them
So spot-on
There are times proving over sabi will only end ur life as B2f has rightly said.

GAZZUZZ: I buy cars all the time, and there are certain conditions when a seller is desperate to fufill a particular need and decides to sell his or her car at a ridiculous price so it sells quick, in situations like this its very important to know how the seller got the car and ensure the deal is clean, there are countless threads in auto sections for nigerian used cars at very low prices that would look suspicious but if you inspect and verify you might find out they are genuine sales.
Also there are cars that have given the owner re-current problems like transmission and ecm replacement and the owner is tired of replacing these components and after the umpteenth placement they decide to sell b4 it brakes down again.
Calling the Op a criminal cause she bought the car at a low price is not balanced judgement.
So true. I have sold my own things off at ridiculous prices too. There was a time i sold a phone of 50k for just 4k, cos i got fed up of the fone and had 2 other ones and the guy that wanted it really liked it but had no money.
I have a doctor friend that sold his E190 for just 20k to a lab assistant at his hopital cos he wanted the guy to have a car.

Problem with the op is VERIFICATION! When u get such a ridiculously low price, you shld take extra time in tracing and cross-checking the ownership with the authorities, esp vehicle registration. And all the papers shhld be verified. Then go ahead and buy so far all is in order even if the car was sold for 5naira.
Afterall the owner has a choice to sell his car at any price he chooses, yours is just to verify that the car is truely his. Thank you.

nurey: See as you throw encyclopedia oyinbo for ground, say that to Nigeria police, he would shake his head, draw out his pistol and shoot you point blank.

You think Nigeria police know book or law, they will only be adamant on the fact that how can you not know "how can you not know that a jeep cannot be sold for less than 1m". They will frustrate you till you say yes I was the ONE THAT STOLE THE JEEP
You are sooooooo right! This is Nigeria, there is NOTHING like right with police. You would have spent hundreds of thousands with some good time in custody before you are released and told it were not guilty. As earlier said, even if you have connections with a high ranking official, u will still suffer from the boys that will nab u b4 the oga intervenes.

I got an offer to buy a 1999 infiniti QX4 for 300k, house, is that suspicious? Me dey suspect o, but the dealer is a friend and i trust him, but i just dont know were he got the vehicle from. Told me it was one yahoo boy that wants to sell it. Pls advice o!

Jackeeh: I used to hide lumps of eba either under d dining table or gum them behind the fridge n shout " mummy I've finished eating. See my plate is empty". And when d coast is clear, I'd remove them from were I stashed them n throw over the fence. Little did I know I was throwing them into someone's farm. One morning, someone knocked at our gate, and when it was opened, in came this man with all my supposedly swallowed garri that I had been throwing away. N I mean the whole lot of them, everything. I was mortified. And from then on,whenever I had garri as lunch,it would be under the strictest supervision. And then, making me finish even the smallest amount of eba was d cruelest thing u could do to me. But now I don't even get satisfied with a large amount of eba. Hmmmmmmm childhood!!!
So i was not the only one that did this as a child cheesy
How i struggled to eat eba those days and i used this ur trick, tho mine was hiding it under the table. Hahahaha

Foool, who are u to tell me to get out. U are running mad oooo.

Shameless lot.
There is no democracy here, Chris simply isn't following the instructions of Paul to Timothy.
My brother, it seems you dont know these people. They esteem their pastors above God. Quoting scripture never works on them, it is all about "my pastor said".
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Addresses The Whole Media Hype And Lies by MissTeaseMe(f): 9:59am On Sep 08, 2014
Demdem:
Are u insinuating that Paul doesn't know what he was saying when he made the below statement to Timothy?

1 Timothy 3:1-7

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. 2 Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.
They will pretend not to know this scripture now cos it does not favour their pastor's case. I am sure they are presently working on twisting the meaning of this scripture.

Dragonking: According to your bible;

1 Corinthians 13 vs 1-6:

1. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

This is enough to show that Chris doesnt love his wife or family, hence he sent them far away from him to enable him carry out his evil acts.

Also, which miracle did chris do? If he is truly a man of God he should go to liberia and heal the sick people suffering from ebola there lets see how that will work out. grin
It is pointless trying to reason with them.
Let them be.

Gombs: where did you see me mention Mohammed? how is he important to me?
I have been reading ur comments.
I opened This thread because i want to see this issue sincerely resolved. I love pastor Chris and his efforts in spreading the Gospel, but so far i realized something abt this thread,
YOU ARE A BLINDED LIER BY CHOICE!!!
You mentioned the achievements of pastor Chris as a criteria for all of us to just shut up and accept WHATEVER he says, all because he has achieved so much.
If achievements justifies a man, WHY not listen to Mohammed, who as achieved FAR more than pastor Chis has?

You keep talking about haters hating pastor chris, lol...
Just read ur original post and tell me the man did not sound manipulative, all of a sudden Pastor Anita is not relevant? The same pastor Anita?

All of a sudden she shld be put at the backstage, so he just realized this?

You guys are just a bunch of hypocrites!

No need replying me. Keep fooling urself, keep manipulating the word at every turn to suit and justify yourself.
This man is just tooooooo arrogant! Cant put his home in order and keeps hitting at Anita, it must all be her fault. The first time he talked abt it, he said she keeps bad friends, he just gotta blame her. Just spicing it up with "pray for her"

Ishilove: Pastor Chris
didn't say anything in
that statement. Just lots
of words; loads and loads
of circumlocution which
did not address the issue
at hand.
As for CE members, pray for
wisdom and divine direction
because I see you all
screaming 'Pastor Chris
Pastor Chris', meanwhile the
wife made some very
alarming and unfortunate
allegations which everyone is
conveniently turning a blind
eye to. Someone is even
saying it is an attack on the
body of Christ.
Very unfortunate.
Christians world over need
to sit down and call on the
God of heaven and earth to
bring to light all secret
things; that all falsehood in
the body of Christ be
exposed
Thank you my sister. Honestly i hate reasoning with some people cos they have made up their minds never to be reasonable thinking it is a sign of faith and faithfulness even when it contradicts the word of God.

@phrezzz...
Winning an Oscar or not winning an Oscar is not important...
...but to answer your question, "Any Nigerian actor CAN actually win the Oscars."

It is not a difficult feat and I wouldn't want to discuss the clumsy fuzz.

Adepero Oduye also acted in 12 years a slave and her performance was top notch as well.
She featured as 'Eliza'.
Watch her perfomance here:

...she is a Nigerian-American actress and she is more experienced than Lupita. See her IMDb page here:http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1323822/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t17
...we all know why she didn't get a nomination. (same reason Halle Berry won her first Oscars lipsrsealed )

pretty ain't she?

If she was given the 'Patsey' role played by Lupita, I'm pretty sure she would have killed that role.

If you're referring to Nollywood actors then I believe there are even Tones of talents on the street that can deliver that role clean.

Also...
Besides Adepero Oduye, There are loads of other Nigerian actors and actresses presently in Hollywood and they can get lucky in winning the Oscars someday.

Some of the actors of Nigerian origin in Hollywood are:

Adepero's 'let me cry'. sad
You made very valid points. It will be possible IF the "Nigerian" actor/actress was

*playing a role in a very "deep" story

*Or interpreting the role of an Important true life personality

*And the movie production Must be top notche with good script interpretations all through and handled by a director that knows what he is doing

You wont find any of this in Nollywood, so it is only possible for us to win it in Hollywood. Let us call a spade a spade, i wont cos of patriotism deceive myself.

thegoodjoehunt3: If the coach just says play, how did they train to play a high line defence.

In tournaments, we improve as the tournament goes on under Coach Keshi, do you think it is just go and play.

In the Nations Cup, we played a formation that had the strikers, Ideye and Emenike go wide to play as wingers, stretching the marking defenders wide to follow the attackers, creating room for Mba to penetrate from the midfield and score.

Please there is a lot of technicalities to Coach Keshi's game. It just takes time to gel.
